A 12' X 6'-2" HO open trailer would of been fine to load a small John Deere tractor on. When I got the trailer to the job site,we discovered the ramp width was 4'-9". The tractor would not fit so I returned the unused trailer . I hope I can get reimbursed.

I needed to rent a trailer for about 2-1/2 hours. I spent 20 minutes online reserving it and prepared your “Express Check In” to cut my time in “half at the location. Yet, when I arrived at the location and even though I mentioned I had completed the express check in on like, I was still put through another 20 minute check in, having to offer the same exact information iI provided previously online. On top of that, even though I check “no coverage” on your computer pad at the cashier, I was charged $8 for coverage I did not want. And, even though I had rented this trailer twice before, the attendant could not figure out how to hook up the chains. Basically, all in I spent over an hour trying to rent a trailer that I needed for 2-1/2 hours. That’s one F’d up process you have. I think Home Depot rents trailers. I’ll try them next time.

Great team of professionals - the guys did a great job of helping me get a truck and car transport carrier. They also provided me with good information and tips. The only draw back with the Salem location was limited size of the lot and limited visitor car parking - very confined property. That said, I received great service and U-haul truck and trailer.

While I was happy that they confirmed that I was returning the vehicle to the right place and were happy to send me on my way (I needed to drive an hour to see my dad for his birthday and it was already late), I was a bit dismayed that they did not confirm the gas and mileage level with me prior to my departure.

When I went to pick up my small truck, that I reserved online, I was told that I had to have it returned in six hours as it had already been rented. I said wasn't it $19.95 for the day? and was told that because I had indicated on the reservation that my approx. use was going to be 6 hrs that it had been rented based on that ASSUMPTION ,. hey, I'm not a moving expert, I didn't think that was an ironclad commitment to have it back by then..so I had to take a smaller van that was a major inconvenience as I had to make extra trips that were unnecessary..plus. the computers were painstakingly slow that day....all in all, not a very good experience !!!

we reserved a 6 x 12 cargo trailer months in advance & were told 2 days before that it may not be available. CRAZY! we had to pick up at a different location than it was reserved for & drop off at a different location. But the Fact that we worried about whether we were going to have it!

I was told over the phone that I could leave my car at UHaul for the night. WHen I got there the person who dealt with me said no not possible. Fortunately, another person said he could move a truck to make room for my car. Thank you to that second person. In the confusion of parking my car I didn't get the packing blankets we requested and still got charged for them. Oh well I should have complained when I returned the truck. Overall, good rental experience and I would definitely use this place again. Thanks.

Excellent service, very helpful and accomodating. Quick in and out. The one recommendation I have is that the local phone number should not always take people to the central national agents. If a person needs to contact a person at the specific branch they should be able to easily do so.

These stores need Help waiting around was the only issue these guys are working hard one is cleaning and taking care of returned trucks the other is trying to handle sales and renting etc... 2 guys is not enough at the busy times of the year

I made a cash deposit of $100. When I returned the truck before the amount of time was up, there was no one that could give me my deposit back. No one informed me when I made the cash deposit that no one would be able to give me my money back later. That was all the money I had and I had to wait till the following day. I was very unsatisfied with this service.

The issue I had wasn't so much with the store itself as it was with the overall customer service regarding my Uboxes. I was not informed they would go to a different facility until I needed them at my local store. You can imagine my panic when I received an email saying they had arrived in Salisbury, MA instead of arriving in Salem.

Nothing can be done about lots and lots of folks picking up booked vehicles at 9 AM on a Saturday. Perhaps one more employee at the desk would have shortened the line. The two staff members were calm, efficient, and friendly, even though the line was 8-10 people long.

When I arrived, I got in line. Then I realized that I had signed up to handle the rental through my phone. There was no information about what to do. One staff member I caught in passing had to go ask if he was allowed to give me a key, but then it appeared the rental was not authorized according to my phone. I got back in line (much longer by now). When I was almost at the front, I saw that the rental was authorized on my phone. There was no one available at the desk. They were busy with other customers and not paying attention to me coming up at the side. Then I caught the same guy in passing who had asked if he could hand out the keys, and he did get the key for me. It was confusing and would have been simpler if I just waited in line to check in at the front desk instead of using the option of self-checkin. Self check-in made things more complicated, not simpler. Additionally, it took 45 minutes to handle all that, and my time with the vehicle was not extended by 45 minutes. That was directly unfair. I did have it back in time, but it was a real rush.

I wish there was a rating between yes and no for "clean and well maintained." The truck I rented was clean but I wouldn't say it was well maintained. It was in rickety condition and not a smooth ride. Pulling out the deck wasn't easy. The brakes took a lot of work to depress. My biggest piece of feedback is also that your procedure is not friendly for everyone - I know Smartphones are widespread and common, but to presume that every single person has one is not ideal. I don't have a smartphone. I rented the truck for 12 hours and then had trouble figuring out how to even return it because the return procedure after 6:30pm assumes everyone has a Smartphone. At least make a clear option that is easy for customers to find, for those who don't have an internet-capable phone. There were after - hours drop off procedures before smart phones existed; I am sure there can be a workable procedure now.

I Have used the Salem Ma location several times. My first experience brought me back and they are my dealer of choice for moving equipment and supplies. The service is perfect from the desk to the hookup to the return. everyone is friendly courteous and knowledgeable. I have many experiences over the years and this is the model for how a place should be run.

Trailer bed was completely rusty so I had to line it with moving blankets before laying down furniture. All in all the experience was perfectly fine; smooth and professional. Old trailers tend to weather so all of this is normal.
