I was not happy because when I went to return the truck I could not return it because the application did not work properly and I left the truck at the unit on 9/20/22 at 9:00 pm and returned on 9/21/22 at 7:00: 30 am and the manager said he had solved the problem, but when I checked my bank had deducted an extra amount I didn't think this procedure was correct because the error was in your applicationnevair M.

The truck was clean but had too many issues. There was an exhaust leak into the cabin. My clothes have the smell stuck on them even after a wash. The exhaust coming from the truck was RICH. Its died due to low idle 4 times, I had to shift into Neutral at stops to keep it running. The truck would shudder like a cold wet dog when trying to get up to speed up an incline, and that was with an empty cargo area. This truck should be taken out of use. The location is fine. I am there frequently, but this truck nearly caused me to call another company midway though since it was allowed to go out as it was.Chris N.

I should have read the reviews here first, although we needed a quick truck nearby and were out of options. I booked online no problem and chose the Mobile PickUp option to save time when we got there. I had booked a furniture dolly as well but at the point in the checkout process where it asked if my dolly was in the truck, it wasn't. It said I had to go inside so I did. I waited for 25 minutes inside where there wasn't a single employee to help anyone. Finally manager Anthony came in. When I said the dolly wasn't in the truck he repeatedly asked if i did it via mobile, more condescending each time. I repeated several times i had and then he said, "oh I don't get that information, you have to come inside to get it." Which doesn't make a lot of sense. You clearly got my order information and prepared a truck for me, so why wouldn't that be included? Why would Mobile even be an option if people have to go into the office for supplies they ordered? It certainly wasted my time. I was annoyed but not at the manager, more at the stupid policy. In hindsight, it seems more reasonable that he forgot to put it in the truck and made up a stupid excuse to cover himself. Walking out to the truck I was voicing my general annoyance and I dont know if he took it personally (like...why?) and rudely said, "Let me show you how to open this door or else I'm going to charge you $2000." I said "You don't have to be rude." He flipped the door up angrily saying "Do it yourself" and stalked off. Flabbergasted at his unprofessionalism, I heard him mutter he was going to get the dolly and I said "Yeah, get it" because at this point I was angry. He turned around and strode forward aggressively with his finger pointed at me talking about how he wasn't going to give us the truck. At this point my husband stepped in to appease the situation but he later said he thought the guy was going to hit me. Upon returning the truck my husband talked to him to tell him how unprofessional he had been and how some people wouldn't let those actions stand. He puffed his chest out as most small men with a Napoleon complex are apt to do when challenged and told us to get off his lot, talking about getting our license plate #, etc. Reading other reviews, it's clear this guy is a problem and should be nowhere near customer service. I'm honestly pretty shocked he still has a job. Go to literally any other UHaul, seriously.Courtney L.

The website UI is terrible. It led me to choose the vehicle I wanted, then the location, then made me choose a vehicle again, then told me that vehicle wasn't available. I finally did manage to get a reservation in an hour later - only to be told the day before that that location actually didn't have the vehicle I wanted and I needed to drive 30 minutes out of my way to get a vehicle. The worker that was outside at the time of my return was rude. The lot was congested, so I backed the vehicle into the cleaning lane and he said sarcastically in front of another customer â€œ99 % of people pull it straight in.â€ I said â€œok I'll do your job for youâ€ and turned it around.Brian L.

Anthony was amazing (that's excellent) in getting my reservation fulfilled and getting me on my way quickly. Max was fantastic on my return/ checking me in. I love this location- been going here for over 8 years. I think Anthony and Max getting positive feedback from their Management would be good. I had to use the Salem, MA U-Haul location twice this week to move my son out and then back in to Boston. The professionalism and courtesy of the team at 43 Jefferson Ave. U-Haul was actually a calming experience especially since you can call them and actually a get a live person to answer questions. The customer service there was exemplary. Highly recommend them! The check-in process at U-Haul ran pretty smoothly. It's easiest to load your Driver's License on via your iPhone.Margaret M.

I had a terrible expirience this pass weekend with U-Haul. My truck broke down, I was left on the side of the road waiting for road side assistance for Three hour. The technician that arrive said he told the my case worker he was not able to fix the truck but Uhaul decided to send him over anyways to waste our time, because the truck had to be towed given that the thermostat was leaking fluid. The tech called it in and said you should receive a call shortly, twenty minutes later no call. I had to pickup my phone and call again to get someone to help me get a tow truck even though they were aware of my situation. The truck didn't make it to the unloading destination until midnight and at this point all my movers were gone, so I was stuck unloading a truck the next day without any help. Next day, I was called by U-Haul to pick up the truck but not to tell me that I can pick up another truck to finish my move given that my reservation was for 24hrs. I had to call them again and then they ask me to pay again and reserve another truck which was ridiculous in my opinion but I did anyways. A one day move turned into and all weekend move and I just wanted get this over with. After completing my reservation Over the phone, I arrive at the location only to find out they gave the truck away because I was 15 minutes late. I finished my move that was suppose to end Saturday around 8-9pm on Sunday at 11pm, this was handled very unprofessional and they did not have any cosideration for a person who broke down on the road using their equipment. If you decide to use U-Haul please ensure your truck has been properly service.Jack G.

The storage area is brightly lit, with parking right next to the building, and several carts and stair ladders to use. I made my reservation online and everything was ready for me when I drove over. The man I worked with could not be any ruder . He literally told me to empty the truck and bring it back after I had a confirmed reservation... he didn't care that I'm a 59 yr old women and was alone. He said he didn't care where but to empty the truck. And called me a liar. When HE NEVER TOLD ME I COULFNT EXTEND . HE SAID HE HAD. THATS A LIE. I WOULD NOT HAVE KEPT IF THAT WERE YRUE. The Location was fine but your reservation process is horrendous. i made the reservation a month ahead of time to make sure a) a truck was available and b) a location nearby that i can walk to. However the day before, i got a call telling me the nearest truck was a 45 minute drive away. Then on the morning of, another call tells me the truck has not arrived. I eventually got a truck but at significant inconvenience to not just myself but to my wife who now had to take 90 minutes out of her day to drive me. it was also 4 hours later than requested so we lost half a day we were planning to use loading it up.jay B.

I had a GREAT experience with Luis Algarin, I messed up my reservation somehow and he patiently tried to help me and got me into a van instead of not giving me anything, he helped me get the appropriate boxes for what I was packing and even took them into my van. This location was on point at pick up and drop off. Smooth process on both ends, and great customer service. Moving is already a stressful process, so it's great when things like that go easily.Jason N.
The equipment was clean, but unfortunately it broke mid-trip, while being loaded, which cause a lot of aggravation and delay. The truck had over 150K mileage. U-Haul should not use trucks that old, or maintain them better. For example, gas pump is often a culprit, so have these trucks to have a newer gas pump.serge Z.

Unfortunately, I think I have been duped on the price. Originally rented vehicle at the Salem, MA location for pick up and drop off. I changed it to the Brookline location. Was quoted over the phone the cost would be the same since I was driving less miles. It cost $164 to rent the vehicle and then I was charged for the 33 miles. Almost $200 for a rental of 8 hours seems excessive. Someone owes me an explanation.James P.

You're manager Anthony Gambale is the rudest most arrogant employee I have ever encountered. I've been using uhaul for lots of years and never dealt with someone like him ever. His attitude is atrocious. So much in fact that I will never use uhaul again. I'm sure it doesn't matter to you but I have been a good customer there. Having rented several times over the past year and I will not be back because of him. I've had great service in other locations but his attitude and demeanor is enough to make not come back. I'll go to Ryder across the street for my moving needs now. Absolutely horrible!Michael W.

My problem was with the sales rep on the phone. She didn't realize that the storage box on the second level had access only by a stairs/ladder. It was very difficult to get into, pipes in the ceiling and a difficult angle. I wouldn't have been able to manage if my son didn't tag along last minute. My storage unit looks like it might be the runt of the litter, but it gets the job done. The storage unit door does not have the U-Haul logo and painted number as the rest of them do, so it seemed like maybe I got the trash pick.
