Terrible experience. The 26ft van that we booked 2+ weeks prior to our pick up date was cancelled/unavailable on the day we booked it, with no warning and no alternative vehicle option. Over 1,5hrs spent on the phone waiting to speak to customer service, we eventually went back to the location and collected a trailer. Why was this not offered as an alternative when the van was no longer available?? Our pick up time was 9am, but we didn't get the trailer until approx. 12,3pm We were due to be moving house and this delay caused a lot of stress and inconvenience, we lost the whole morning trying to sort out the issue.

JEANIE G.I was told that I didn't need to pick up a return location in port wentworth I did a drop off location about 18 miles away from the pick up location and paid about $70 more for the convenience I tried to drop off that night and they put Savannah the same city I got it from. I called the store to get the issue fixed and was passed around and put on hold it took me over 3 hrs to fix there mistake I called customer service who told me the store manager would contact me and she never did. I spent extra money and did not get the convenience I paid for.

tracey S.We showed up at 8 am (for an 8 am reservation) and the pickup truck wasn't ready. We had to wait 45 minutes. While we were waiting UHaul called us (from the same location) to tell us we were late even though we were at their location. Ridiculous.

Ezra J.I checked out online. When I looked for the key drop box it was a slot in the front door which was open with no receptacle for a key. I gave the key to the U-Haul employee at the counter. The next morning I received a phone message asking where I had left the key!

KENNETHM D.The location on abercorn was great, however the location on ogeechee was absolute garbage. I reserved a truck for two days several weeks before hand. When I arrived they informed that I could only have the truck for one day. They did not apologize or seem to care at all, they're computer system didn't work as well. Why was a reservation for two days accepted if I could only have the truck for one day? And why be so rude about it? I was counting on this truck to move during the two days I had off work, and of it wasn't for the uhaul on abercorn street I would have been screwed. So thanks to abercorn for a job well done. And thanks to ogeechee for making my life harder than it needed to be.

Ashley C.When fully loaded I noticed that the air in the trailer tires was a bit low. I check and they were at 33 psi cold. The rating for the tires are 50 psi cold I found an air supply location and increased inflation in the tires to 45 psi which looked much better for the loaded trailer. The trailer performed well during the trip.

The agent I spoke to on the phone handled the situation and thankfully found the trailer in the parking lot.

Nancy B. | Expérience généraleThings had been fine, or so we thought, until we returned to clean out our unit #221 on 10/11/21. We opened the door and discovered water damage in the unit and a large box of personal clothing was damaged from laying in the water for who knows how long. I took pictures of the unit and there was white duct tape over this area, so that tells me there most likely had been water leaking previously, yet U-Haul rents the unit again w/o repairing the leak issue (taping it is like only putting a bandaid on it). We did not purchase insurance on this unit, didn't believe we needed to, if you take proper care of your facility. Obviously you don't and I expect to be properly compensated for the cleaning of the clothes with hopes of getting the musty/moldy smell out. I expect to be notified from U-Haul within the next couple days- if not, I will be following up myself.

My brother who passed away three years ago had all of his items there and it was auctioned off at $163.00. I am really heart broken and have not been showed any form of sympathy. Nor have I been contacted by the General Manager Chris Spears. Lakia has been an angel in trying to assist me but I still do not understand why I was given the incorrect date for such a time sensitive matter.

Joseph W. | Expérience généraleI have pictures of the unit ceiling falling in and mold everywhere from the hot and cold weather causing moisture in a closed in unit. The weeds from outside began growing on the inside through the back of the storage unit. I had rat feces everywhere. I tried to donate much as I could of furniture items to Goodwill. I refused to take any of it into my brand new home. Everything else was packed and tossed in the trash. I can't believe I was paying for almost 4 years to throw everything away. It was horrible. The Uhaul truck was the only thing that was great. It didn't breakdown this time on me. I wish I could submit these pictures to show other customers. I paid on the 30th of every month which included late fees since my unit was due on the 12th of every month. I paid for Uhaul to deliver horrible services every month to me. I recommend Uhaul to upgrade the whole structure and treat customers items as they would treat their own.

I accepted the offer, completed the online move in process at which point I was informed everything was all set to move in. I even called the facility to ensure that if I were not available to move into the unit that my representative could do so if I had completed the online process. I work as a front line healthcare provider and had to work so asked my wife to move the contents into the unit. I gave her all the details to do so, including a screen shot of my confirmation. At the facility, the buildings were very poorly marked and when she asked the employee where the unit was, she was informed that the employee could not give her any information because the unit was not in her name. When my wife finally located the unit, with no help from staff, the codes we were given for access did not work. As I was trying to care for my patients, I was also having to try to handle this chaos over the phone with my wife. Finally, my wife forced to go back to the employee and demand assistance to access the unit. Ultimately, locating and accessing the unit took twice as long as actually moving in the contents. As an extra bonus, to complete the online move in process to the unit, I had to pay 99,95 even though it was supposed to be free for month. I called the location 3/25/2021 to request a refund of the 99.95. The automated system informed me it would be a 20 minute wait for a representative. After nearly 39 minutes someone came on the line. I explained the pricing issue and was told that someone from that location would call me that day. Needless to say, it is 3/29/2021 and I have still not received a call. I am currently waiting on the phone (23 minutes so far) to try to get this resolved. I am EXTREMELY disappointed and frustrated with the entire process and would appreciate contact from someone who can help me. You guys make a point to mention on the automated phone system that calls are recorded to help keep your promises made to your customers. I would like to see proof of that.

The manager adjusted the late charge and the first months rent. She could not change the rate but I appreciated her trying.

Staff had I don't care attitude and told my husband they didn't have bedbugs. I am in the military and I trusted Putting my stuff in a storage and I trusted using you guys tricks to transfer my stuff without any issues. Very disappointed and have gotten military Lawyers involved. The way I and my husband were treated were very rude. I will make sure no other military personnel goes to this uhaul 0

After renting a truck in another state, traveling for 2 days, and arriving expecting to check in with 0 issues this was the last thing that need to happen. U-Haul's system messed up my storage reservation and instead of leading with an explanation, she lead with attitude that was met with attitude. Aside from that, the other staff was super professional, especially Travis, who was actually able to articulate professionally all details about my unit check in process..
