20 minutes on hold before I hung up. Just wanted to know if they had a 4x8 available. They were busy. Keep treating customers like that and they WON'T be busy. Called customer service to make arrangements and THEY were GREAT! A guy named AJ at Sioux Falls dealer needs to be trained in customer service or let go. Manager was good to go. If I had a choice, I wouldn't use Sioux Falls U-Haul again.

The clerk at the counter was incredibly rude and unprofessional. The truck didn't have any gas and smelled terribly of marijuana, I suspect the employees. Further, my rental was not available the day I reserved it, even though I set up the reservation a week before hand.

After the truck was loaded, my granddaughter immediately returned a number of unneeded blankets to the site. She requested a receipt but was told "it'll be on the website." It was not in fact on the website so the office at the return end erroneously charged an additional fee of $72. Later when we complained, it was refunded. But a receipt would have been much easier on every one. Also when we originally made the reservation at Northview Bait & Tackle were excellent - very helpful, knowledgable and easily accessible. Give them a 5.
Steven SI was charged for two full days of rental when I had the truck for less than 4 hours. I picked it up at about noon on 9/2/2024 and returned the truck by 4pm on 9/2/2024 and I was charged an extra $19,95 plus $15 for insurance for a second day. I'm requesting a refund of the additional fees that were stolen from me.

Cynthia TFill the gas tanks full and make people return them full as I was to return with 1/4 tank and the truck got returned with more then half a tank as the truck didn'tr use quite as fuck fuel as expected then you guys charged me for more miles when I had more money in the extra gas then the dumb miles you charged me so I got screwed out of the extra gas and got no reimbursement or credit for. It to go towards extra miles or back on my card I also cleaned the truck out to save my 25 bucks and also got no credit for that so overall pretty mad I lost out on a decent amount of money and got nothing out of it

Richard BKid who checked us in didn't want to be there. We got gas after loading and was about to get on the road and the check engine came on and it overheated spilling coolant everywhere. We waited an hour and a half for a mechanic to get there. He was the only good experience out of this. He put in anti-freeze and followed us for a little bit to make sure we ok. We had to get gas half way even though we filled it up. The mileage said we had 100 or so miles until we would need more then a minute later it said we only have 15 miles til empty. Luckily we got to a gas pump in time This was the worst experience we have ever had with uhaul and we always used you before. I was anxious the entire 31/2 hour trip because I didn't know if we would break down and have to wait another how many hours for someone to get us. We were not able to unpack our stuff until 8pm and we started out at 10am. We will probably never use uhaul again.
MELISSA JFirst of all, the U-Haul at 923 W 11th St, in Sioux Falls, was EXCELLENT. However, our experience started with Complete Benefits (U-Haul) at 1408 Ceder St, Brandon, SD 57005. We were moving from a townhouse in Brandon to a storage unit in Brandon. When we got to U-Haul, from Sioux Falls, to pick up the truck, there wasn't a truck and U-Haul, even though the door said open, was closed. I called U-Haul and they said "they tried to call". Well, they never left a message, that was for certain. So, We went back into Sioux Falls and stopped at another location, where they didn't have any trucks, but reserved one at U-Haul at 102 N Marion Rd Sioux Falls, SD 57107. They did have a truck at N. Marion, but were closed and the U-Haul APP did not work, so we went to U-Haul Moving & Storage of Sioux Falls at 923 W 11th St, Sioux Falls SD 57104. They were open and were great to work with. Finally got a truck rented and had to drive it back to Brandon to move in Brandon, then drive back to Sioux Falls to return the truck. After all of that, NEVER AGAIN, will I rent from U-Haul unless I have absolutely no other option.
WADE DThe wait to pick up the trailer was beyond excessive. There was one person working the counter and the wait of 1,5 hours to pick up the trailer was crazy.
Chaitanya MI was told there would be a dolly and moving 6 blankets in the back of the truck. When I arrived at the location, there was neither. I went to the closest U-Haul and they were out of blankets. This caused me to have to go to a hardware store and purchase some the checkout and return process were lengthy Due to lack of staff and lines being long.
CHRISTINE JI had asked for an extra bag for my mattress and they didn't give it to me, but they did charge me for it and the attitude of the person who served me was terrible, in addition to the fact that the truck I reserved was not available either.

Was given roll of nickels as there were no singles. A joke really. There are several very good employees, they are negatively impacted. As was I as a customer.

Brian ASomehow the date that I scheduled my appointment for was changed, so I "missed the appointment" even though I arrived on time for the date/time I had scheduled and put my credit card down for - I have the original email to prove the correct date/time. They "fit me in" for my original appointment time, but it took over six hours for them to complete the installation (they had told me 1,5-2 hours when they took the keys). Then, when I got the car back, they hadn't reconnected all the wiring so I was getting notifications from the car that my side sensors weren't working. Luckily my husband figured out the problem and fixed it when I got home. Also, in the middle of checking me out after the installation, the kid behind the counter stopped the process, pulled out his phone, and replied to a text message for about a minute while I stood there and waited. It was very unprofessional.
Samuel HMy experience renting a 12' utility trailer from this location went smoothly. AJ, the representative I worked with, was friendly, knowledgable, and assisted with connecting the trailer to my SUV which was very helpful. I was in and out of the store in about 20 minutes. The trailer itself was the perfect size for hauling lumber I needed for a project. The mobile app made it easy to return the trailer after-hours. I'll rent at this location again in the future. ROGER BI was charged a fuel surcharge and for gas despite the fact that I replaced the fuel. The attendant told me that there was a quarter of a tank in the truck at the start, but it was actually between an eighth and a quarter. I figured it would be an issue so I took photos of the gauge before I left and after I returned it. As expected, they charged me even though I replaced the used fuel. After I called, the worker said they would issue a refund of the fees. Even though they refunded it, it's very annoying that they didn't have the fuel accurately recorded and I had to go through the effort to call and get it refunded. Sadly, this is what people expect when they visit a U-Haul.

Stacy MBe aware of the "low Pricing" you pay double what was quoted. During pick up service the rep was pleasant, helpful and had great customer service skills. Upon return the other rep was rude, unhelpful, lacking patient direction to someone who had not rented or returned before. Returning the truck on time felt as if I was wasting his time and his attitude was one that U-Haul should invest in retraining its employees. I will look into other companies going forward to rent moving trucks from as the experience returning the vehicle was far from welcoming.

The storage unit also had a wet floor and I suspect maybe ceiling was leaking because it rained on that day that I was moving in. I moved a bunch of clothes into that storage that I sell so hoping they don't get damaged by rain if the ceiling is truly leaking. Now the storage facility itself had a horrible bathroom smell because the bathroom door was just wide open and quite evidently unkept. It was hard to breath in there honestly. I hadn't already booked it I would've gone somewhere else just because of that smell.

When i arrived, I see what looks like an office with glass windows, I was concerned about going in because there was a man camped out in front of the door who appeared to be on drugs. Just a Kiosk that tells you, you need to check in online and have renatl insurance paperwork. I drove to the U Haul right around the corner and explained to Tyler, why I was so upset, He was very kind,understanding and professional. He took care of me by offering me a unit on site, the original address I first called. I appreciate the remedy but think Management needs to inform their employees to disclose the unmanned conditions of the property and to direct woman and the elderly to the manned site if available.

First of all, the design of the new storage units attached to the main building creates a situation where the entry to my storage unit is blocked with return U-Haul trucks every time I try to access it. Beyond that this U-Haul location is understaffed. So there is no one to help move the trucks out of the way. In addition, I first rented my unit online via the U-Haul website and when I showed up they did not have a unit of my size available. I understand this to be a corporate U-Haul issue and not a local problem. It seems corporate is creating issues and leaving it to the local U-Haul to solve it. I will not be renting from U-Haul again and I would strongly recommend against it to anyone I come into contact with

It was a Very very VERY loooong drive :/ I was offered a one month storage unit free of charge and when I arrived to turn in the trailer and unload our stuff.. I found out there was only an upstairs unit available at the drop off location I had picked ...I was totally overwhelmed at the thought of hauling everything we own up the stairs on my own and already exhausted from the long drive with wild kids 若 the lady that was helping us went out of her way to arrange a unit at a different location to accommodate and I am beyond grateful!! I almost cried the happy tears!!! Grateful, impressed, and sooo relived <3 I missed this kind of interaction that comes with living in the Midwest and it was a really great first experience with being back home. Thank you!!!

There was a UHaul lock on my storage unit, which I fully understand, but it wasn't taken off even weeks after I caught up the payment. An employee came up with me, told me he would go look for the key, and left me sitting there without returning for over a half hour. I left, and when I returned a couple of weeks after that, the lock was still there despite payments being all caught up. I was so relieved to get my things out of the storage unit and never deal with this location again.
