Absolutely Horrible - the one person there to help me told me I had to help him move 6 trailers before I got the one I reserved 4 days prior - he had to get the only other person working to move the trailers - girl at the front desk told me She had nothing to do with the yard workers and I had to work it out with the man she directed me too - and he told me he didnt move trailers! Make sure you check the gas gauge when you leave. After waiting over 30min. I made the mistake of not looking and of course it was rounded up in there favor on the paperwork... I’m an honest person and actually brought it back with more then I got it with and still got “additional” charges on my bill. Be careful!!

I've waited for 45 minutes to be assisted for someone. This is ridiculous! Just one person without desire to work to assist a bunch of clients in the store! That's not my first bad experience. This store in Somerville is a shame for uhaul brand.

It was difficult to find the drop-box for the keys as it does not resemble the image provided online. It was also difficult to pick up the truck as it was very busy and there was little option to cut the line to grab the key. Separately from the location, I was charged incorrectly for an hour extension and also charged twice for the same service. I have yet to receive the proper refund and I am disappointed because I have only had positive U-haul experiences until this point.

Spent >45 min on the phone trying to reach this office in the morning (because I had left a small item in the truck), and I was transferred from one UHaul person to another, but never actually reached anyone. In addition, I was charged additional for gas (despite that it was returned with a similar amount of gas) and mileage (despite that I had driven straight from Uhaul -> my place -> my new place -> Uhaul, and these were the closest Uhaul locations available). Overall poor experience, overcharged.

The employee I spoke with was too busy to help me in the checkout process and said I would receive a receipt for the drop off within the hour and told me to leave the keys in the truck and leave. Within the hour I received my receipt with a charge for $15 claiming I didn't fill up the gas tank to the agreed upon fill line. The receipt said the gas level was at 1/2 line. However, before dropping off the truck I filled it up with gas, past the 5/8 line and just shy of the 3/4 line. I am very disappointed. Had the employee inspected the truck while I was there, we could have discussed the gas tank amount. In the future I will have to take a picture of the gas tank gauge to ensure I am not charged excessively. I will not be back to this location. All other times I've dropped off a truck the employees are friendly and efficiently inspect the truck and discuss any issues/additional fees that may be charged.

The excellent staff (Manny, Juan and Andrea) went out of there way to make good, after a disappointing disagreement between the computer and actual inventories of parts (hitches). The helpfulness and affability of the Linwood Street staff is in sharp contrast to the horror show at the (apparently understaffed) Hyde Park U-Haul location.

It's a super busy location. I had difficulty reaching the local office when I called. That would be my thing to improve. The staff is incredibly professional, responsive, knowledgeable, and hardworking. Their customer service and teamwork was amazing. I worked in retail mgt. for 10 years I make it a point to call out great performances because people always hear the negative.

I waited a hour to be serviced. Got to truck it was all wet with limited gas. When I tried speaking with employer I was told I would have to wait. He had a bad attitude. I told him I had already waited in line for an hour. He directed me to management. I was charged for gas although I was told to return with same amount of gas. Which I did. This place was awful. Next time I’m going with Pensake much more pleasant experience! & I do need to move again but I won’t be using U-Haul

I rented a dolly along with the truck. When I checked in, the person helping me confirmed the dolly reservation, but then forgot to actually give me one. When I got home, I realized I didn't have the dolly, but I couldn't return to the store because I had painters and movers coming that I had to let in within 10 minutes. Their first solution was to refund me my money, but that wouldn't work because the reason I rented a dolly was because I actually needed a dolly. After some persuasion, they ultimately took a few minutes to bring me one at my house, a mile down the road from the store. Things happen, but I was on a really tight timeframe, and I didn't need that derailing the rest of my day.

I had severe issues returning my vehicle. The associate on duty told me it was fine, I can just park the vehicle in the return lane and should get a confirmation within 15 minutes. I did not receive anything despite calling twice, until they sent me an invoice, charging me for an extra day!! They claimed I had not returned the vehicle on time, despite returning it 24hrs earlier. I do want to say that the GM, Manuel Campos, was very helpful and resolved the issue quickly by issuing a full refund of the extra day. He deserves credit, but his staff should get a better grip of things. Checking in a returned vehicle is the bread and butter of your business.

When I got to the location for pickup, the firendly technician struggled to find me, then recreated my booking, then booked it wrong, eventually corrected it. These delays took over 30 minutes. They gave me paper work that didn’t match the truck. Plates, mileage, fuel fill level were all wrong. I should have checked all this before I left, but I only noticed at my first highway stop. I tried calling them 11 times over 2 days. I automatically got routed to reservations main line, not the brick and mortar I picked up from. Each time I called it was 10 minutes to get someone that could t help me get through to the Somervile office. We tried email, instant message. Nothing. Luckily my drop off location was super understanding.

Every step of reserving to delivering and retrieving our UBox has been a nightmare. The website double charged us for the reservation because it would not submit the correct form. We had to wait on hold for 20+ minutes to get someone to help us with our reservation. We selected to do truck delivery, but were told AFTER we paid for the service that we needed to obtain special permits from the town in order to park the UBox by our residence and that someone needed to be home during delivery. They gave us the delivery time between 7 - 2 which is absolutely impossible to stick with given normal working hours. We had to call UHaul again, wait on hold again for 20+ minutes just to speak to a representative and change our reservation to load the box on-site. After the box had shipped, I received an email saying my payment method was declined. After another 20+ minute to call to UHaul, this was deemed a "mistake" and the same card was processed. I thought I was in the clear until the day I scheduled movers came, and my movers called to tell me that they were at the correct UHaul location to retrieve my UBox but it was nowhere to be found. I called SEVERAL UHaul representatives and numbers (everyone kept directing me to different places and would not stay on the phone) and no one could seem to locate my UBox even though it was supposed to arrive at the location the day before. I had to cancel and reschedule movers because UHaul took an entire day to get back to me to let me know where my items were. After complaining to UHaul about the inconvenience, I was promised a $50 refund which I NEVER received. When I thought I was finally done with this MESS ,UHaul called me several days ago to let me know that they could not close my contract because the movers had not returned my UBox. After several more calls to them, they finally closed my contract. I will never be using UHaul's services again. This experience has been nothing but stressful and infuriating. I did not feel that my items were tracked properly, and the customer experience at UHaul every time I had a serious problem was dismal.

I was told my box was departing later than it did, so a bunch of things never made it in to the Ubox. Why tell me the box is leaving wednesday then send it days earlier? Would have adjusted my loading schedule had I know it would be leaving earlier. Also several things were damaged in transit - who do I talk to about making a claim?

I dropped my truck off at 7pm and the lot was full. Trying to check the truck in online did not work on mobile or when I got home on my computer. I spent 15 minutes on hold Monday before talking to a very nice operator who was not able to resolve the issue. On Tuesday I spent another 15 minutes on hold to confirm that the truck was received with another helpful operator; however, they had to remove an extra charge because UHAUL had thought I had rented the truck for another day. I felt this service was poor.

I spoke with multiple different U-haul representatives over the phone, and every one told me conflicting information. For example, one person told me I could only have the u-box at my house for 24 hours. Another person told me that the 99$ truck delivery fee did not include the truck coming to pick back up the boxes after they were emptied, and that I would have to rent a trailer to return them? All of these things ended up getting clarified, however it took multiple phone calls. I understand hold/wait times are difficult to improve, but I also waited about 30 minutes each time I needed to call.

Make it clear how many pads you should be getting; when we came to pick ours up we were given only two bags when we should have received eight bags. We did not know this, so we had to return for more pads. Manny was very helpful in correcting the scheduling mistake that was made by the agent on the phone so that we could still ship when we were promised. Central customer service was terrible, there were more than two hours on hold for this shipment.

Please put in your FAQ what happens if you are late returning your rental equipment. I'm used to Zipcar's model, where you can extend in 30 minute increments unless someone has reserved the car after you. I reserved my Uhaul van for 12 hours and wasn't clear what would happen when I needed it for several more hours. But the 24h model is very user friendly. I wish your phone system used hold music instead of hold talking.

After driving 9 hrs, I got there and the unit I’d reserved was unavailable, despite the fact that I’d confirmed it the day before. Uhaul’s software shouldn’t let you reserve a unit that’s not open!

The staff is exceptional and so is the facility, EXCEPT that the back of my rental unit was brick and leaked. 2 courses of boxes damaged by water, damp interiors and black mold. Fails with leak!
