The first few truck numbers that came up in the app were not in the lot. There were quite a number of trucks so I had to go up and down the lot multiple times looking. Eventually, the app assigned me a truck that was actually there, but it had a number of serious issues: â€œservice airbagâ€ light was on in the dash display, driver door wouldn't close all the way, on of the front headlights was defective. The truck was in bad shape overall - lots of damage, no handles to the window levers, lots of dust and dirt inside and out, and it smelled musty in the cab. I went inside and spoke with a service agent, who immediately helped me to a new truck. This was the pleasant part of my experience, but I ended up spending about 30 minutes picking up my truck between the app assigning trucks that weren't in the lot, dealing with the broken down truck and the long check-in process in U-Haul's app. That delayed my move start-time causing stress. I highly recommend customers to give themselves extra time at pickup until U-Haul updates their processes.Dmitry G.

First, I was not told on the phone during my confirmation that my Uhaul would be at a different location so I not only wasted time and money to go to my first location but then once I arrived at the second, there were not enough people working there. The service person was rude and condescending and asked me to pay again even though I already paid beforehand. And they also made me check in when I did an online check-in. Not only that but the Uhaul had water from rain the night before inside of the truck and I also had to pay movers for their time since I was delayed. The worst experience picking things up. My pick up was originally scheduled for Aston then uhaul changed it to south west Philly then again to center city. Took an extra hour of driving and 4 hours lost in my day. Not to mention I was given a truck with an empty gas tank.Daniel K.

Being charged $40 for another whole day of rental is absolutely absurd. The rental was 4 hours late. Partly because the trucks battery died. I am extremely displeased with finding out that I am paying for an entire extra day when the rental was picked up on Friday and returned Saturday. Please rectify this or I will not be using UHaul again.Nigel K.

The people that work at that location need to work on customer service. Their phones were out, in hands, customers were being neglected"oops, I didn't see you there" everything seemed like it was inconveniencing them from small talk and playing on their phones. Also, I rented a hand truck and there wasn't one in my truck. I got all the way to location to find no hand truck. The drop off was the easiest part of the process which went smoothly.Cortni-starr P.

Poor customer service. At first they didn't want to help me with the online checkout. Uhaul had quoted me a price online that was $450 less than the final amount, and they wouldn't let me split the payment across two cards. Then they told me I had an hour to check out or I'd lose my truck reservation. I had to use a $ lifeline to be able to pay at checkout and now I owe the entire up front cost of the truck versus being able to pay it down over time. That $450 unexpected cost resulted now in $3400 out ofp ocket I was planning to use toward my down payment on a home. The whole experience made my move extremely stressful and less manageable. That being said the truck was clean and safely got me and my things where I needed to be.Cynthia C.

I had an awful experience at this location. I was extremely unhappy with the service at the counter: I showed up with questions about the app and without knowing what was happening, the desk person already said she could not help me. Then, I was told I would receive the email with a receipt, which I did not. Once I returned the next day to turn in the van, I asked for the receipt again and was treated with a tremendous lack of ethics from both the desk person and manager to simply print a receipt. I would not recommend this service to anyone and I will not come back.Joao F.

The check in process was a bit disorganized. The person helping me disappeared when I went to get my credit card from my car. The first key they gave me belonged to a uhaul that was blocked in by other trucks. I returned the vehicle with the self check in which was much easier and quick.Nina S.
I had a 2:30 reservation and was in line for 40 minutes before I was able to pick up my truck. When I went to pick up instore, I had to do all this self check in stuff I opted out of on my online reservation. They need to be more organized and the check in much simpler. I showed up to pick up my reserved truck and they said they didn't have one for me so I had to go to another location two miles away to get my vehicle. I think this is disgusting considering I paid over $400 to rent the truck. I chose the original location because it was within walking distance to my residence; the new location they made me retrieve my vehicle was two miles away. I do not have a car, meaning they were either forcing me to walk 2 miles to get my reserved vehicle or they were forcing me to pay for transportation to pick it up. When I did get to The new uhaul location the staff there were entirely unhelpful with regards to retrieving the mattress cover and hand truck I purchased to go with the vehicle. They gave me the general area I could find both and left me to find them myself. Finally, when I returned the vehicle at the uhaul location near my destination, the vehicle would not let me fill the gas tank up all the way forcing me to pay an additional $50 fee for leaving it a quarter tank lower despite attempting to fill it all the way back up. Shipment was delayed a week beyond the "guaranteed date"; we were told this was due to a mistake by U-HAUL. We were offered a paltry sum in response to the delay and only when we affirmatively reached out to customer service. The sum did not cover the increased costs we faced due to the delay and as of today I haven't seen any refund come through--I guess I get to make yet another call to U-HAUL. Outside of the delay, our experience was OK. They had a hard time managing logistics--we had to have same conversation multiple times about when the box would be dropped off, each time being told the boxes would arrive when we would be able to receive them; day-of it was as though we never had those conversations. The drivers and movers were friendly and efficient. Otherwise hard to recommend.Matthew C.

I was transferred to a different location about 30 minutes away last minute, spent $50 needing to uber there and back after it turns out the new location never set up the truck for self-service pick up, and the store was still closed for 3 hours. Huge headache, don't plan on using again.Ricardo Q.

1. Ensure your trucks are well maintained. Our truck would not start and after midnight we were forced to call for U-Haul Roadside Assistance. We had 2 children in the car and our dog in the street in the middle of the night. After a 90 minute wait, the jump was completed but we were depleted. We intentionally waited until evening to begin the move because the heat was 100 degrees on our moving day. 2. The truck did not start the next morning after having a jump. It was infuriating to wait 2 hours for another Roadside Assistance person to REPLACE the battery instead of switching out our truck. Altogether, we lost more than 12 hours of move time managing your poorly maintained truck. 3. Reimburse your customers when malfunction is a U-Haul issue. It is unacceptable to give me a 1-day refund instead of refunding me for the 2-days for which I was inconvenienced. At this point, I feel the situation should have been rectified immediately...not when I checked-out with a person who had NO authority to do more for me, but it should have been rectified with the manager who was on the phone with me while the situation was occurring. Now, this issue has cost me time. It continues to cost me more time as I make an attempt to receive the compensation from U-Haul I deserve. 4. We were told at this location that they do not have a Military Discount. What in the world???...Every moving entity in America has a Military Discount. The 24/7 check in never works. I was standing in the building and the gps said I was not there. Stood in line for an hour to get a uhaul truck with only 3 people in front of me. Truck had a dashboard light on and a voice that said to release the parking brake (it was released) the entire time we were driving. Received truck at a 1/4 tank even though the paperwork said it was half a tank. Dolly was detached even though we did not use it.Stephany G.

Customer service was great but making a reservation for a unit and the unit not being available was not an enjoyable experience. We received a call rerouting our drop off from the closest location to one 25 minutes away. No staff in sight. Other renters also confused due to lack of information/direction on the return process at that site. Told we would receive courtesy miles for the inconvenience, no way to verify the final cost of the truck with additional mileage incurred due to change in drop off and pick up locations.dave D.

The staff here were nice. But, I booked at a different location. You called and canceled me and sent me to another location on word land and they didn't have the truck you told me they did. Then finally got to this location and thankfully the manager was there and told them to give me the tuck. So, I went to 3 locations before I could get the truck I reserved ahead of time.Cody G.

Passenger mirror was broke and swiveling while driving. COULD NOT SEE ANYTHING ON RIGHT SIDE WHILE DRIVING. Had to rig with tape, it was VERY dangerous driving. Employee knew about the issue before giving me the truck, she attempted to fix it (I assumed it was) and then gave me the truck anyway. It was a terribly scary driving experience. We reserve for 12:30 and they don't have the cargo van and make us waited for 45 minutes. Even after that they still don't have the cargo van. The rep said we have to pay for more expensive truck or come back another day. The least the rep can do is give us a discount since they have the cargo van. Instead, the rep gave us an attitude. I had thought that the unit I reserved was in a 24/7 access building, but it turns out there are two buildings and the only unit available is not 24/7 access. I use a keypad to enter and don't have to interact with a human to access the unit, so I'm not sure why the hours need to be restricted, but it was literally my only option so I had to take it. All in all I'm very pleased with the unit and the services, the manager that assisted me was extremely helpful and nice. A family member was able to change the email on my \ deceased uncle account and was able to gain access to my storage unit without my permission. and stole over 8k with of items without my consent. When I payed the overdue amount and cleaned out the storage and saw her info instead of mines. I was puzzled. the relative name or anything to give her access was not listed on the account at all. I needed a storage unit same day and was able to secure a unit at this facility quickly and easily. I appreciated the hospitality from the women at the front desk. They were great and answered my questions. One of the women walked me to the unit across the street which I really appreciated. My unit was broken into and the management had no empathy what so ever when contacted. No effort what so ever to assist with the burglary. I thought the building was secure with few cameras, and code set up building but I was wrong.iram g. | Expérience générale

The only thing that was a headache was the closing of the account. After we met with the agent to close the account (11/17) we continued to get notices for invoicing and late notices from Uhaul because the on site staff hadn't inspected the unit. Customer service was horrible. I ask for receipt I was told they don't print receipt and I would receive an email. When I search email for receipt there was no email. I visited the 10th and Washington location to close out storage unit that I never use and didn't receive close out email confirmation and worse a bill was send to my emergency contact stated I owe for storage. I was advised via phone that my unit was free for 30 days. When I arrived, the person assisting me advised that they only do 30 days free for one-way truck rentals. I am very disappointed in UHaul, this facility and the false advertising. I am also disappointed with this facilities inability to be loyal to its long-time customers. My parents have had a storage unit at this facility for over 10 years. I need a smaller unit now and I reserved one online. It never said the unit was obstructed online but when I was shown the unit in person there was a HUGE column right in the middle of the unit!! This unit is un-useable. Such false advertising and so I ended up having to purchase a much more expensive one and no one was willing to give me a discount since I was expecting to be paying the price of the falsely advertised unit. Storage unit they tried to give me was a mess, not climate controlled or prepared for a new customer. Then they tried to give me two separate 5x10 units though a I reserved one 10x10. Took me an hour and fifteen minutes to get storage unit check-in situated and am being charged $15 more per month for my unit than what I had reserved. Was not able to honor my the free month of storage rental after renting a one way truck. Staff was more occupied enjoying each other than helping customers. The process of getting your storage access and filling the unit and payment was all very inefficient. The day I was moving out the freight elevator stopped working. I had hired movers and had to pay them at least an hours more work because of that. My attempts to get a refund with the storage facility staff and customer service was time consuming and to no avail. Additionally, when I closed out my storage unit the staff did not close it out, I called several days later and they assured me I was all set. When I called about a different issue a week later they told me my unit was still active. If I had autopay set up I would have been charged for another month a week after I closed out. There typically were insufficient flat carts available for the number of people in the facility at any one time. Several trips I needed to wait until someone freed up a cart. I spent over an hour trying to check in for my storage unit reserved 5 weeks ago. I was shown a unit completely different than what I reserved online and was subsequently told the unit I reserved online did not exist. I was forced to take the unit given due to an impending move. The staff was unable to provide an access card as the "system was down" so I was forced to come back to get an access card. Waited in line for 30 minutes even though there were only 4 people in front of us. After they were done with a customer, they would delay waiting on the next customer. It took us a whole hour to get situated, between waiting for someone to take us to the unit, then having to go back to sign the contract and pay, waiting some more time before someone could do that for us, bouncing between different computers as they figured stuff out. I've had my items stored at this location for years. Unfortunately, when I recently went to take stuff out of my unit I found people camping outside of it. I reported this to the staff, who did not seem to concerned but assured me the people would be removed. When I went back the next day, my lock had attempted to be broken and I could not get the key in. Again, staff did not seem concerned about the attempted break in. I was told they'd look at security footage, but never received any follow up. In speaking with the manager, Andrew, this situation seemed more like a nuisance to him that a real problem that people were living in his building and attempting to break in to units. I moved my stuff out ASAP and will never ever store there again, nor will I recommend this location to anyone. Stay away!!Erin P. | Expérience générale
This U-Haul location seems to have a significant rodent problem. We found many (at least 50 if not more) rodent droppings on our stuff when we moved out. In addition, when we were all moved out of the storage unit I got verbal confirmation from the clerk that I was all set and that we'd get a confirmation email within a few hours. This did not happen and 2 days later they attempted to hit us with an additional month's payment and a late fee. While I was able to revert these charges after coming back in, I worry that this may be a deliberate attempt to get additional money out of clients. This location was also not willing to give us the 1-month free U-Haul promotion at first and we only got it after lengthy phone calls with customer service. So far, the vast majority of my interaction (3 related to truck rentals and 2 related to a storage unit) with U-Haul has been disappointing as their lack of incompetency has surprised me in a different manner every time - I really ought to learn my lesson..Sebastian S. | Expérience générale
