David EThe truck is in need of repair. Was disappointed when you charge $1,75 per kilometre. For a one day move in city and was charged 146 dollars. A little outrageous. However your staff in this location were very friendly and kind.
Tanya MThe truck transmission sounded like it was revint way too high. When I returned the truck the guy at the arrive counter was going to charge me $16 for returning the truck with less gas than when I picked it up. I was told when I picked it up the truck "gas tank is between 1/4 and 3/8. Please return it with at least 1/4 tank. The guy behind the counter said I picked it up st 3/8 tank and thee will be a $16 charge. I raised my voice and I said I read reviews on U-Haul edm and that there were customers that complained about the same extra mileage charges that were not warranted. The service guy did reverse the charges after a 15 min argument - so unnecessary- so unethical. I would not recommend U-Haul South Edmonton 51 Ave because of that.

Michael NWouldn't recommend because when I returned the van, I was told the fuel wasn't correct. However, it was over what I was told to bring back. The guy doing the return just told me I was wrong and owed for gas. There was no investigation, no questions asked of coworkers and no explanation from me that was acceptable. He just kept saying I was wrong and that's that's it. After I got extremely upset and told him to get someone else, preferably a manager, he just said he put a hold on my contract and walked away. Total disgusting behavior and pure arrogance. Eventually I got it taken care of but will never be back nor recommend because of him. The other two men I dealt with were outstanding but it doesn't make up for the rude, arrogant and dismissive attitude I received from the last guy.

Robert CThis review is about U-haul policies and not the locations, at the location they were great. I reserved a trailer to pick up from a downtown Calgary location 6 days in advance and in their app it said available and your reservation is guaranteed. 24 hours before my trip they call and say we don't have a trailer at that location and send 1 hour away, so it cost an extra 2 hours and I had to change all my plans and be late because u-haul decided to call 24 hours prior and the people who call do not offer any kind of help. And when I try to express my dissatisfaction they say sorry but we can't do anything. We'll I will never use U-haul ever again.

Charles NI found the staff to be really helpful an made the process super easy. The truck was quite dirty. The headlights were very dim and made travelling at night difficult. There was also no cruise control which made our 9,5 hour drive very long and painful.

DWAIN MNothing is written or stated anywhere that if you pay by a debit visa card, that you need to wait three to five business days for money to be returned to you. I was told that my card was taken as a credit card, even though I stated it was a debit card. In the past, I have used the same card and have been able to receive my money back right away in store. Not sure what happened this time. But, this is super disappointing. Especially when trying to flee an abusive relationship/housing situation, and money is extremely tight.

Montana M | Expérience généraleWe looked at the hours online and it said the office was open until 7pm, as we were scheduled to arrive around 6:40pm, we called ahead to ensure our unloading that evening would be possible. We spoke to someone from U-haul on the phone (we called the number listed for this location) who assured us that although the office closed at 7pm, as long as we had our paper work done by 7, we would have access to unload until 10pm. Unfortunately on our arrival we were advised this was not the case, as apparently a door was broken, making unloading after the office was closed impossible. We were told this was well posted, but did not see any signage and clearly this was not communicated to the U-Haul representatives answering the phone. After explaining our situation multiple times, they did finally allow us to unload and we are grateful that one of the employees was willing to stay 30 minutes late to facilitate this. However, as we went to unload, there were multiple trailers in front of the door we needed to access to unload and then the lights in the building we were unloading into were turned off mid way through our time, both of these making our unloading experience that much more difficult.

My entire locker was gone through and destroyed and even though there's a camera pointing directly at my locker "there was no footage" absolutely ridiculous place to think your items are safe when they certainly aren't.

I booked a truck and storage 32 days in advance for my move from Winnipeg to Edmonton. 2 days before I'm supposed to pick up my truck I get a call that the location changed. It was 400 meters from where I work and that is the way I wanted it, they moved it 6km away, not a huge deal , until they called me the day before I'm picking up the truck and moved it to Winnipeg beach, 80km away! 160km round trip !! They did discount the truck but to me that did not matter, I had to scramble like crazy to get this done and I'm moving 1300km. Did not need that stress but I got it done. So now when I get to Edmonton where my locker was booked more then a month in advance, they don't have my locker. They gave me a smaller one and said I have to be out in 3 weeks because someone has it booked.. where was mine ? Now this is where it gets really good. Could not fit all my stuff in there , had a $400 bookcase stolen . Found that out when I went to load with my movers . Now my storage is blocked by one of thier trailers, the woman working said I should have phoned first before moving my stuff !! It's my stuff way should I have to give notice? She was rude , running around like she had no idea what she was doing. She cost me an extra hour of move time because they had to walk my stuff an extra 40 feet because she couldn't move the trailer for me . Rudest person I've ever delt with anywhere. She cost me $180 because of her disorganization. Just so rude and ignorant. She doesn't deserve that position, I'd be fired if I did my job the way she did. Walking around hollering at people. Worst experience ever and I've done this move 5 times now. This one I will never forget. Do not ever go to uhaul, South side Edmonton, 51 ave . Be warned now .

Clean ish. What do you mean by clean? The staff was super good. Great people.
