There were two people working (including back with the U-Boxes) in the whole building. Only one person at the desk. I was there listening to phone calls come in and never get picked up because it was just 1 person at the desk dealing with an already very long line. This is the same person that had to then walk out to the vehicles with each person renting making the wait even longer. I was packing up a U-Box which they ended up not being able to find after 45 minutes and eventually just gave me a new one and changed the number. The 2nd employee when first saw me at the U-Box area told me he didn't have time to work with me and wasn't sure when he could come back so I left for two hours and returned to the same wait but with a different person.

Don’t try to pick up the truck with the online app. It’s slow and inefficient. It would have been 5 minutes if I’d walked in and spoken to an agent, which I eventually did after 25 minutes on the app and still not done. For drop off, it never told me where to leave the key. The app is a good idea but needs to be improved.

The person who helped me at this location was knowledgeable, helpful, and forthcoming with information. She was good at letting me know the ins and outs of what a local move entails versus a 1 way trip. She provided amazing assistance and I regret that I didn't catch her name. Also it should be noted that the trip managers (I think they're called) were a HUGE help too when I had questions and concerns. Remarkable set up honestly.

When getting in contact with agents regarding my box, its location, and my need to access it, I had multiple attempts with agents who stated " I cannot find your box" when looking using my account number or telephone number. I was told multiple times someone would work on it and call me back. This happened for multiple days until finally I asked to speak to a manager and got into contact with someone. When I finally accessed my box, it was obviously that it had been shaken around quite a bit as everything was moved and a few ceramic pieces that were carefully packed were broken.

I read lots of bad reviews regarding this location. I have to say they either changed personnel or those customers were perpetuil complainers. I would have done the auto drop off but had issues logging in. I went inside and the employee jumped right up and said no worries that was his job to check me in anyway. Drop off took about 5 minutes and my receipt was emailed to me immediately. Very helpful employees.

This is the second time I have shipped cross country with a U BOx. First time was perfect. This move: Items were secure and fastened when packed. When the box arrived to my destination in San Diego, the door had been TORN OFF the hinges. It was held together by PLASTIC WRAP and had been nailed closed like a coffin from a fucking Clint Eastwood movie. Half of my boxes were collapsed and items had shifted in a manner only possible if the container had completely flipped. Absolutely ridiculous. I will be filing an insurance claim. When the San Diego rep came to drop it off, she was trying to pull the nails out with a ballpeen hammer. When I realized the door was completely destroyed and I couldnt open it without emptying it immediately, I had to ask her to stop (I live in a city with thousands of neighbors and could not risk my unit being left open with NO DOOR all day while I worked). Absolutely horrible experience and I would never use this service again.

I did have two issues. One was the gas tank wasn’t at the level that my paper stated and I didn’t notice it until I was half way down the road. 2nd is I ordered two dolly’s & I only had one which made the entire move a bit longer. Would’ve called but I signed for the truck and then picked it up after the store was closed. Other than that, I was very pleased with the service & location.

Uhaul treats customers poorly. They changed locations on me without letting me know. It wasn't till I confirmed I was told I have to drive 30 minutes out of my way to get a truck. The added mileage that's where they make their money.

I don’t have any problem with this location. But I have been renting U-Haul trucks and vans for years and your new pick up/ drop off process is laughable. I have my own business, I don’t need to work for you. I don’t get a discounted rate to do your employee jobs. There is no reason I need to take 6 pictures and fill out a form to drop off.. that is your job.. I just need to make sure it’s clean and drop the key.. that is it.. .. why are you making your customers work for you??? I’ll pay double, to just leave the van and go.

Your website accepts orders for hitch installations that the locations cannot fulfil. This led to three separate rebookings. Your website does not provide the ability to rebook and I was forced to call the locations where nobody answers the phone. I was was the forced to wait 20 minutes on the phone to speak to the customer service reps on three separate occasions. A very poor experience overall! However when I finally got to the U-Haul location the service was quick and efficient.

When we got there, there was no one at the office and no sign of anyone around... we had to wait 15 minutes for someone to show up... on top of that, one of the attendants who showed up was absolutely terrible to deal with... I dealt with him while renting the storage unit. He was rude and didn’t really know how to do his job. It took him super long to get me a storage unit and he couldn’t find it on the map so I had to ask if I could look and I found it immediately... the attendant was very unhelpful and absolutely not trying to make me have a good experience. He had a terrible attitude and didn’t know what he was doing. At the same time, I will say that a second attendant was there and she was very lovely to deal with (I dealt with her while renting the truck). She smiled and was in a good mood and tried to make sure I had everything I needed. When I dropped off the truck at 7:02, the male attendant just said, “we’re closed, we can’t help you, do self check out....” while the female attendant came out and said she could help me and was so nice and helpful. It’s crazy to me that you have such disparities in your workforce.

Truck had mechanical problems. Also charged us for pads and the dolly after the fact. There was no dolly inside the truck. Never asked for either and was charged for them. Truck had over 110,000 miles on it. In my opinion any truck that has that many miles on it should not be rented. Buyer be ware!

had no idea until one day before we were to pick up the trailer that we would have to travel to New Haven to acquire it. Had rented the vehicle in Guilford, CT and were extremely busy getting things ready for our trip. Going to New Haven was not in our schedule. There were 4 or 5 people handing around the desk when we arrived, the young lady did handle our reservation sufficiently, but the rest of the crew was just hanging around until my husband had to come out and ask for help. Would prefer not to do business at this location again.

Customer service was great. No problem there. I did run into a problem with the gas meter. Beings though I had this problem on even a month ago with uhaul. I was prepared this time. The print out of the gas meter read 3/4 of a tank. Upon entry of the uhaul I noticed it was literally on the line right after 1/2 tank. So I snapped a pick of when I entered and exited the vehicle to show my findings and not be charged for gas because I put it exactly back where it was at. I would only say make sure the meter is where they say because this is the 2nd time in 1 month I was charged for them having a false reading of the meter and the first time was at a different location. Uhaul as a whole not just state st needs to work on this.

1) Have the people at the desk be friendly and MUCH faster. 2) When someone reserves a box, be sure that it's ready for the time they reserved. 3) Fix the phone system so it takes less than 20 minutes to *start* calling a real person (and then hire more people so customers aren't then on hold for another 10-60 minutes). 4) Improve the delivery system so packages are delivered on time. 5) Have people who work at Uhaul record what people called and asked for (I had multiple times where I spent an hour or more on the phone to reserve something and then I called back when that thing wasn't done and they said it was never reserved). 6) Give phone operators an accurate list of departments and phone numbers. I was redirected literally over 20 times to people who I was told would be able to help me with something (e.g., "This person can help you book an appointment with a moving truck") and then they couldn't and would pass me along. Combined with the super long hold times, this means I spend hours on the phone at a time. If I could simply be directed to the correct person the first time, it would have saved so many hours of my life. 7) When the company makes a mistake, phone operators should say "I'm sorry about that" and act like they want to try to make up for it rather than act like I'm the one who did something wrong. 8) Have some sort of accountability. I have been reaching out over and over to try to get the "guaranteed refund" because my stuff was 8 days late and everyone is giving me the run-around--apparently no one is actually in charge of that. Similarly, I haven't found any means of filing a complaint about the horrendous service I've received.

Communication was very difficult at both the shipping & receiving ends with the stores and even the national number. Multiple times my order was messed up and there was confusion about what was a simple 1 u-box shipment. One example of the difficulty in working with UHaul was when the box arrived. At some point someone bolted the latches shut and made it impossible to open without tools. It took the store over 2 hours to open the box, pushing late on the move. While the employees were all nice enough but they seemed understaffed and questionably trained. The U-box did arrive on time and my items safe, so I am on the fence if I'd recommend U-haul to others because of this experience.

I think the U-Box is a good, low-cost way to ship heirlooms across the country ... but U-Haul corporate is pretty terrible. Or maybe it's just the U-Box software being buggy and/or too complex for the people who handle the boxes. Most of the people I dealt with were perfectly nice and seemingly competent ... yet the day my box WAS to arrive in California, I got a call saying Ooops, it's still in Connecticut! A day or two before U-Haul Santa Clara was supposed to deliver my box, I got a call from U-Haul Watsonville saying It's Not Here! (Well, yeah, it was at U-Haul Santa Clara. But the young man who called was particularly baffled by the computer system.)

It looks great...because the location was recently renovated. The rental spaces are larger than they show illustrated online. Unless I have bad spacial awareness. I recommend you picking one that you think is good off of first impression, and then, choose the space smaller than that in actuality. You will make it work, Promise. The people there are good, they just have a few workers clocked in at a time, so cut them some slack. There is one that happens to be very knowledge and helpful, but if they all read this review, Hopefully, they will all become alike, wise, and faster on the computers & knowledgeable of their own standards and cashier handling ( if that makes sense ) I recommend you, as the Renter, to research everything you need, and then make sure you get exactly that when you arrive. Double checking always helps everybody, EVEN THE BOSS, so don't feel any type of way about it. Bring a pen, paper, camera and anything else to make sure you didnt miss anything, and/or was overcharged for mistakes. Other than that, they are good. Things happen, but they won't, if you don't

Long wait to get my reserved truck. Did not give me the equipment I had rented. Employee gave me inaccurate information about uhaul site where I was dropping the truck in NYC. Told me that the destination site was open all night when it was not, causing me to drive around NYC looking for a place to park my uhaul overnight.
