Kimberly H.I returned my rental at 3:15pm (due at 330pm) and a sales associate took my dolly and keys and told me he would complete my check-in for me. When I got my bill, the return time was listed as 6:51pm and I was double-charged for everything. Figuring this was a simple oversight, I called customer service to ask for a correction. The first associate treated me like I was trying to scam UHAUL, and was generally unelpful. The next associate was incredibly helpful in filing a dispute, but this did not get resolved until 830pm on my Saturday night. Very, very disappointed in UHAUL.

Customer service said they would send a tow truck to bring the truck back to drop off location but this did not happen because “it's against protocol†according to uhaul roadside assistance. This made me wait an additional 2 hours before being able to drop off the truck and then I got charged after hour service fee for not filling the whole tank up when I most definitely did. I paid $46,2 in gas at $3,6 per gallon over 12 gallons of gas for the 99 miles I drove. Even if the 10 ft truck only did 10 MPG I would of overfilled the tank by 20 gallons. So ways of improvement: * Make sure battery is not faulty before giving to customer. * customer service should be aware of Road side assistance protocol and not promise what they can't do. * not lie about how much is left in the tank * not charge someone after hour fee if they were given a faulty battery which causes them to arrive after hours

Brian R.The young man that was just hired last month at the state st new haven location deserves corporate attention. The temperature was 12degrees F. He maintained a positive and professional attitude focused on providing a superior service while attaching a trailer to my vehicle. The tire on the trailer was flat and he had to deal with 4 broken pieces of equipment used to inflate the tires. He was able to problem solve and make 1 working tool out of the 4 broken pieces. The equipment was broken likely due to the low temps not mismanagement. This employee deserves recognition and attention for his professionalism and work ethic. It's been about 8 years since I've come across a service based employee who has carried a sense of seriousness and pride for their job such as this gentleman. LYLE M.Had 2 experiences with uhaul in the past two weeks first I was overcharged for a rental. The second experience was that I had a reservation for the final move with movers and my order was canceled. I was on the phone with a representative and the key was supposed to be left. She was going to set it up so I can just get the code and it was 7 PM on Friday and all the sudden I noticed an email that it was canceled. Therefore I had to re-order the truck for Saturday morning and pick it up at 7 AM because I have the movers there and the truck was dirty in the cab windows. This was the third time I've rented and the windows are dirty inside so my overall experience was not all that great.

When I called the location to notify them about the discrepancy, they said there was nothing they could do about it. When I returned the vehicle, they admitted that they had given me the wrong vehicle. This experience was very stressful and I was late picking up my employee and late to my job.

Paul, personally searched the ubox and located the art that was between 2 pieces of cardboard and left in the box. He then drove from Chippewa Falls to Onalaska WI on New Years Eve day to bring back the art. I bought the hitch from orange u-haul (794067) Contract number 7032974 Orange representative told me to call New Haven for insulation because they had no one Certified to install at their site. I called them on my speakerphone both myself and the representative from orange talk to him and he told us $90 to install hitch and wiring. At 2:39 pm I called the New Haven store. I would like a copy of the phone conversation sent to me . I can review it to let me know exactly what he said I would like to call to confirm that you received comment. Also Installer Denny Bruey block my car in with his personal Truck. I call 911 to come to your New Haven Rest of the stories for another day.

Also, many of the wires have been chewed. We even put out traps and deterant for the mice and it didn't seem to help. We also had issues with water and flooding regularly. Any time it rained there was water everywhere. We will NEVER use this facility for storage again.

Even though the online instructions were clear, I was a little bit confused about scanning into one door and then actually accessing the building via the other. He saw that I was lost, so he came up to me and walked me through the process. He then escorted me to my unit (I didn't even ask him to do so - super kind/considerate). He opened it for me, got me my lock (and opened the package for me, which was great, because I didn't have a box-cutter), pointed out where the carts are, etc.. He really made it so seamless and easy. I felt like he gave me a VIP tour. I'm grateful he found me and took it upon himself to help me get acclimated! He was very friendly, too - ran into him a couple more times that day, and he checked-in to see if I needed help. I hope I got his name right, because he was AWESOME! This was around 7-9am on 10/12. One of the best customer service experiences I've had, which is especially crazy, because I didn't even seek out his help. Okay, I'm done gushing now. He was dope.

It took the gentleman substantial time and my husband calling me back for additional info to find the reservation and once opening the unit there was no lock present (as stated in the agreement).
Rachel B. | Online Move InI was very disappointed with my experience with U-Haul. I reserved a unit online only to learn that, despite my reservation, there were no units of that size available. The manager assured me that he would apply a discount to the unit because it was more expensive than the one I had reserved. But he only applied it to the first month. I had to call several times to get the discount applied, as discussed. When I returned to the unit, all of my belongings were covered in mouse poop. The rodent issue was obvious given that the facility, when I returned, had a significant number of mouse traps in the hall way. Staff clearly knew about the issue but did not notify me. The manager told me that he would send me a complaint form, but I have not received it.

I've had issues moving in and out and still waiting to hear back about an unresolved issues. Reservations mean nothing here. I reserved a small 5x7x10 to store my belongings and when I get there I am told no such unit exists and the only small one they had cost me $30 more. I had no choice but to pay the extra because I had all of my belongings with me ready to move in. Moving out was an even worse experience. I let the facility know that I this was going to be my last month staying and that once the month was over I would no longer need my unit. I had paid for the rest of the month of august and moved out progressively. Unfortunately, they took this as once I sent the email I was completely done with my unit and they went ahead and threw away ALL of my stuff in the storage. Not once was I contacted and when I went to the unit to pick up my belongings they had already sold the unit to someone else. Luckily the employees there agreed it was a miscommunication and I filed a reimbursement for all of my destroyed and discarded items which quite frankly had a lot of value to me. I am still waiting to hear back from anyone at uhaul and it has been such a stressful process for me.

The facility "accidentally" moved me out of my original unit just a few days after i got it and before I even moved in; then persisted im being rude to me even tho they made the error. They offered me "a couple months free" to make up for their error but still charged me, bc they aren't organized or consistent. Use another storage facility so you don't have to deal with this one.

I had to move out of my apt. that weekend and was unaware the elevator was down. I think management should have emailed those with units on the second floor or just do a mass email regarding the issue. I had to make last minute re-arrangements. And the 1st day the elevator went down, no staff member told me of the other access from the back of the building. I found out the 2nd day the elevator was out. Please advise staff to relay important info like this to your customers. Merci.
