Have a staff well informed, I was denied a rental having a valid international drivers license with the excuse that I didn't have a valid international drivers license, as I was also treated as if I was going to stole the truck.

Also, thank you for connecting the wagon to my hitch. It worked perfect. I would rent the small wagon again and I recommend this location.

Kudzanai C.I called customer service to mention the poor mechanical condition of the truck, and was told that a note was left and location manager would discuss with me on return. It has been a full business day since return and I have not heard back. I did not have any confidence that the truck would get me across the country - which fortunately it did. The experience was nerve-wracking, every tiny bump on the road was extremely uncomfortable and my load was shaken and moved considerably - I had to readjust at every fuel stop. I'm quite disappointed and feel I did not receive equipment of the quality I expected, especially considering the cost, and mentioned to customer service that I would like some sort of reimbursement for the stressful experience - no action was taken.

Gary W.My only comment, and it's something that I found a little odd was that the person who I dealt with asked for my license, which I produced, they then proceeded to enter it on the computer screen then took a picture of my license with a personal cell phone. This I found a little concerning. If the company needs a copy or scan it should be done with company equipment not a personal device.

LUIS R.I was, I thought pre registered through the U Haul app for advanced check in. When I arrived there was no instructions on the app as to what to do upon arrival so I was forced into the long check in line at opening on the day I reserved. Perhaps this is normal and my reservation was secured but I was expecting to avoid such a lineup by pre registering through the app. Suffice it to say it was only a minor inconvenience but one I thought worth mentioning. Staff was quick and pleasant to get us on our moving day task at hand.
David H.When asking for vehicle to move with . I wanted a site that was within 5km of me. Because all my moving was on the west end of the city and I live in the west end of the city. Instead you send me to a U-Haul site that was 23 km the east end of the city . To tell me I have 20 km free. Well that was gone just driving it back to the west end of the city. In total I did 60km. Should of been 20 km . More customer satisfaction would be to rent a vehicle in there location than to rent from a location on the other side of the city.

It took me 4 phone calls, and too many hours to resolve an issue that never should have happened in the first place. After my reservation was changed to allow for me to pick up my vehicle (self-serve after hours), the remainder of the experience was fine.

DAVID L.Renting the unit was easy but I was never advised to load and lock it upon rental. Unit 204 was in horrible condition upon arrival but we had a short timeline in our move so I couldn't make adjustments with it being the only unit left. I got a call for this a week later. I preordered large orders of boxes online twice first time order wasn't picked upon arrival. Second time I added a note to my order indicating I didn't have time to wait for it to be picked. When we arrived the order wasn't ready when I mentioned the note to the attendant I was told they didn't get any notification. Then he picked the order which we had to review it three times as all items that were multiples he only picked singles for and then had to return again for missing items. Getting a call from them that I provided the wrong sizing for the item I ordered and had to return to pay for them? I prepaid online and requested the same size I was provided by the attendant but had to talk over him when he called because he wasn't listening to my explanation. Second months rent wasn't withdrawn from credit card on file so I received two calls from the manager along with two letters mailed to my home after sorting out the issue. The unit was in a horrible state dry walled, with huge cracks allow moisture to pool on the floor of the unit. Drywall tape on corners needed repairs corner of unit needed to be swept out as there was all sorts of debris. Boxes covered in jip rock from where birds got in and chipped it away. I even had a bird in the unit one day I went to load in boxes. Staff seemed young and inexperienced and not very eager to correct problems or have attitude when issues were brought to their attention. In the winter months snow and ice were left to pool at the edge of the unit which had broken concrete that allowed the ice to pool and de thaw along the doorway so I couldn't place boxes two feet from the edge or they would get wet. When removing the boxes for our move they all had debris on the bottoms from the floor or pieces of the ceiling, it was an outdoor unit so I expected some moisture but a few boxes were soggy and had a musty odour likely because the cracks allowed a lot of moisture to get into the unit. I wouldn't do business with this location or suggest their services to anyone I know.

Christopher N.The pickup experience was great, but the booking experience was far from it. I booked the truck with a guaranteed pickup in Hamilton. We were actually moving from Brulington, but the Hamilton location was the closest one that was guaranteed. Then 3 days prior to the moving date I got a text to call regarding my booking. I called and they let me know that the truck was not available and asked if I could pickup in Niagara Falls! That is an almost an hour away from Hamilton. Eventually they found a truck in Stoney Creek that I agreed to. Then 1 day before the pickup they texted again and I called back, and they had switched it back to Hamilton, which was good, but now with a 10:30am pickup instead of 9:30am. I received $50 off of my order, but the booking experience was very frustrating and stress inducing. The experience of pickup, truck use, and drop off was very good though.
Grant M.The truck was clean but poorly maintained. It was by far the scariest drive I've ever had. Engine won't hit the upper gears and runs loud, the steering needs alignment and the brakes need servicing. Also I specifically requested no additional rental equipment and I was charged for the moving dolly that was left in the truck.

Adam L.Everything from the start to the end was very bad, rented a pickup, was only 2 wheel drive not 4wd, and no one mentioned that anywhere, tires was all season and in a very poor condition, the gas gage not working properly, so ended up paying for a hug amount of gas without anything back, front desk agents are very low on customer service and on everything else as well, they are liars and they even don't have the basic sense how to deal and respect humans, if you want more details, contact me!
Sherif M.When the gas returned is higher than when picked up there should be a refund. If I was did not return the vehicle with adequate gas I get charged an absurd amount. I was over by 1/4 tank which is approx $40 and the gas needle was stuck while filling up. I put in $40 and the needle was still say 29 miles to empty. I added more then it shot up. No refund nothing plus I rent a unit on top of that. Very upset.

I assumed a pest service would take care of it one evening. Without hesitation the young man at the desk out with a stick in the daylight to knock it down. He didn't want me to have to wait to get into my unit safely. Now that's great customer service. We only closed our storage account to move north. Of course we rented a truck then a second from Uhaul to move all of our belongings. Uhaul is the first place we call for moving and storage needs.

The back RV lot also needs the low spots filled. There are many large puddles when it rains. They told me I needed to bring my own lightbulb from home as they don't supply them. As I was just staring at the young guy in stunned silence, he added, "My manager says, we supply the electricity, but not the lightbulbs". So, my next trip to bring stuff in, I actually brought a ladder and a lightbulb to change it myself so I could see. Seriously, U-Haul, have a few behind the counter to change them out when they blow....people moving or storing stuff have enough on their plate!! I was almost tempted to unscrew it and take it with me, but I couldn't get to that to the next person!
