After booking a one way rental to Victoria bc everyone was reasonable in accommodating my requests for an early pickup on day of move. At the this location but advised it may be at another location for pickup. Not only was the pickup location a considerable distance away, it was for a 12 noon pickup. This seriously conflicted with all my plans. Due to this last minute awareness I was screwed. Ended up having to rent a uhaul, to accommodate my plans but had to return it to this location ended up I had to book two days instead of one an I had to double up very trips The uncaring of staff was total ignorance. Customer service at its lowest.. my expenses escalated and my satisfaction was crucified. Wow, what a terrible way. I will remember tmy dissatisfaction forever. This was one of the very worst stipulations I have ever in in countered. If I appear angry an humiliated, I most certainly am.Stephan M.

At the end of April, we booked a one-way 20ft truck and a auto hauler for June 14, 2022, in Niagara Falls. We received a call on June 10th that we would have to pick up the truck in Strathroy but we could have it one day early - June 13th. Due to the distance, the cost for fuel was $120 for our vehicle and a 5hr drive round trip. In addition, the cost for fuel for your truck was $100 to return to Niagara Falls. When we picked up the truck it was filthy dirty inside and out. It also had an engine lamp on and we were told to disregard the light, that it wouldn't bother the operation of the vehicle! On June 14th we were going to your Niagara Falls location to pick up the trailer but got diverted to your St. Catharines location. Again, more money for gas. While we were picking up the trailer the manager there used a reader to decipher the engine lamp. He said it could possibly affect the fuel mileage of the unit. He did try to find us another unit but none available. I know that I have the right to refuse the unit, but I had no choice as we had closed the deal on our home and had to be out on June 15th. So, we loaded up and started our journey to Coquitlam BC as our drop off point and where we tried to reserve a storage locker for one month, there were no lockers available. We found a storage facility in Surrey, and also set that place as a drop off point. After we unloaded the truck, we were told that we had to go to yet another location to drop off the truck and trailer. More gas and time! Our trip across the provinces the truck performance was uneventful until we encountered our first descend from a mountain, (8 % grade for 10km) we had overheated the brakes somewhat and had to pull over and wait for them to cool. Poor braking was reported at drop off point. The rest of the trip went very slowly for fear of the unit not stopping properly. Overall, our experience with U-Haul was not good. The cost of rental was more than we were quoted originally at the Niagara Falls store. Original quote was $ 3 400 for the truck and $394 for the trailer without any insurance. We paid extra for the insurance and we feel that we were over charged for the rental. When we disputed the costs, we were told to take it or leave it. Your customer satisfaction seems to be the very last thing anybody in your employ seems to worry about. We are terribly disappointed. Further, we cannot confirm if the engine lamp issue affected our fuel mileage as we had nothing to base it on. Trying to get a hold of someone via phone or email was nothing short of frustrating as we kept getting switched to a different traffic Centres. The issue wasn't this location. It was the 2 hour driving delays caused by incorrect reservations, lack of inventory after pre booking, and incorrect charging making me wait on hold for over an hour combined.ERIC K.

As per my reservation I had ordered a 20 foot moving truck. My 35 year old son volunteered to drive the truck for me since he has more experience driving these large trucks. As such, he came with me to register as the driver, and to pick up the truck, on the morning of our Moving Day. Not only is he more experienced driving larger trucks than I, he is also a whizz-kid when it comes to smart phones and online transactions. Since, much to my surprise, the entire check-out process was done online via a smartphone, with apps and texts and photos and things like that, I would have been totally lost without him doing it all for me on his smartphone. I do not have or use a smart phone, and as such would be completely clueless about the online transactions. Even the Pre-Delivery Inspection of the truck was DIY by means of a smartphone app and photos by my son, not an employee of the U-Haul location. To me, that just seemed like U-Haul is having their customers do their work for them. The interior of the cab and the furniture compartment had been effectively cleaned and sanitized. One question however. Why does U-Haul insist on including a dolly and a LARGE blanket "6-pack" in the truck when the customer specifically did not request them. Sure, they do not have to be used, but in a fully loaded 20 foot truck, they certainly do consume a large chunk of the available space. The vertically stored in-situ dolly, and its wheels, caused me some inconvenience when loading the last few items. I just wished it was was not there as I had requested. Anyways, besides the overwhelming use of IT to process the reservation, pick-up and return transactions, the rental of the U-Haul truck on our Moving Day was a success and we were even able to return it well ahead of schedule. I would certainly recommend this U-Haul location to other users, with the only caveat being that you must bring your smartphone and know how to use it.Christopher R.

They're was only one rep at the counter, and after 50 minutes waiting in line, a second employee helped serve customers. Only issue was standing in line for almost 40 minutes to tender $5,69 is a bit rediculous as is having only one desk person to on the desk for the first 3 hours at the beginning of the month. Long wait to get to the service counter. It would be helpful to have another person at the counter rather than the one that was there. The check-in process is so involved that each customer took about 10 minutes to be processed. I waited about 1/2 an hour to get the paperwork completed and I had used the online check-in procedure. You need to speed up the entire process. I likely will go to HD to rent my next trailer.Don B.
Authorisation on CC is high. Charge of fuel is extremely too high nearly $85 that can fill a complete car not a 1 bar only ! The ad of $19,95 is just to catch you. Additions are pricy. My estimate was $50 that jumped to $164 because of fuel charge. I was not informed what fuel type they add. I can nit estimate and put wrong fuel that distroys the truck. I had requested a Furniture Dolly be included in my truck rental. At the front counter when I arrived, they stated that there were no furniture dollies available for rental, but there was one available for purchase and suggested I buy one. This was absolutely ridiculous and if I did not have a friend who also had a furniture dolly, my move would have been a disaster. If equipment requested is not available, notice should be provided far before, and if the equipment is literally sitting right there for purchase, good customer service would provide that furniture dolly for a rental.Kevin L.

I needed a 20ft truck after some stress and anxiety being told my reserved 20ft truck could be rented just not at 11am as reserved It was going to be at 5pm The agent miracously now could release a 10ft truck immediately For my reserved rental to be unavailable I was to receive a â€œ$50 reservation creditâ€ which today I received notification I am to receive Still no credit to my bank account I said 10miles of travel and the agent says put $20 then your not going to owe at the end of the day Funny the irony it's actual Uhual who overcharged me $62 DOLLARS !! We had initially requested an enclosed trailer several days before our reservation. Your main customer service advised you didn't have any (even an hour before on a phone call) so we were only left with the option to use an open utility trailer in possible rainy weather. Upon arrival at your Surrey location I noticed 2 enclosed trailers in your yard. Fortunately we were able to rent one - but there's a possible disconnect or miscommunication between your main call centre and your Surrey location on equipment. Your staff at the Surrey location were very helpful which was good.Gerald C.

Had to go to 3 locations before they would take a 5x8 trailer. Each place had space, but told us they didn't. NOT IMPRESSED! Especially with the cost of gas now. Totally turned us off from ever renting a Uhaul again! Shout out to the guy at the 13425 King George Hwy for being the one to accept it. Sorry to the guy at 84 ave where we lost our cool on him. The staff were very helpful although there was only one employee and so many customers waiting. The staff on the lot were very helpful. However, I had reserved blankets and a dolly. The blankets were eventually provided but they did not have enough dollies. Also it was raining and my friend slipped on the ramp of the truck. You should consider alerting your customers and/or improve the surface. I would also like to mention that I had booked a larger truck in NV. When I changed the pick up date, the entire reservation was thrown out and I was left without a truck even though I had booked it 6weeks prior. You should put an alert on your website that IF YOU MAKE CHANGES TO YOUR RESERVATION YOU RISK LOSING IT. Your little blurb that a customer service representative will be in contact, is not helpful. So your staff is very friendly, but your reservation system needs work!!!Sylvia J.

The UHAUL location on 84th Ave and King George messed up my storage reservation so I ended up at this location because it had a locker the size I needed. 3 other families were moving in at the same time, while one party was using all 3 carts and monopolizing the elevator. We complained to the front staff and finally were able to get to a cart. 1 elevator is no acceptable for a storage this size it was complete chaos. Once up to my locker another tenant had stuff all down the hallway. I cant wait to get my items out of this location. Even waiting to be processed the space is small and there as a line up of 5 people ahead of me. Why is it that I was able I reserve a storage unit online and had everything setup ready for a specific move-in date only to learn from the location staff that my reservation is not guaranteed and it's still first come-first serve basis which made me panic to rush down to the location to pay-in advanced just to hold my unit ahead of the date that I actually need to start the rental on. When I first opened the storage their was a transition in management. The alarm system was due for an upgrade it kept going off after hours even when i had 24h access. The management seems to change over often doesn't make U-Haul look very good to us renters. Upon me moving out i purchased boxes I had to park near King George as the workers had all their trucks parked In front of the main doors and visitor parking. I was struggling carrying the boxes out to my car and the 2 employee's standing talking one on their phone in front of the door backed out of my way rather than offering to help me. Then on moving out day again the trucks were parked in front of the loading doors. I asked if he could move the truck he said no not really and their was 3 empty spots for the truck. i lost my keys and was told i could gain access to the locker myself by bolt cutters, grinder or locksmith. i had tools so i chose that option. ended up causing a little damage to the door and they charged me almost 1 000 to replace the door and did not accept any responsibility for the employee that told me i was able to cut the lock myself by sharing the cost of the replacement or anything. they are extremely rude men that work there and have horrible customer service and people skills.phylisia r. | Expérience générale
The facility was maintained and clean however parking there was absolutely horrendous. They had way too many trucks parking around with rarely any parking spots open for our regular cars when we needed something from our storage units. Upon move out tbe staff was absolutely terrible and rude. We had 4 storage months for about a year paying over $400 a month for the units and when we went to move out the staff kept being rude to us because we we had our truck parked in front so we could load.
