The truck needed a front in alignment there was hardly any way to keep the truck safely on the road. It was a very dangerous ride but it was too late for me to bring back because I had to test it on the road before I found this outSOHNA M.

Drop off was OK but unsettling. They said to leave the truck with keys. No receipt. I suppose that's convenient but I walked away wondering if it was actually logged back in good shape and what to do if there was a dispute. Also, the online experience was not so great. The first notification after drop off looked like my original rental agreement, no actual usage info. I got the real summary with usage about a day later. Now I'm holding my breath on how the toll billing will work.STEVENROBERT H.
When I get the message on the mobile app to skip the line, why am I ignored when I stand clearly to the side. The last 4-5 times, I gave and stood in line. It's annoying. I know they see me. You have to do a better job of solving this problem. I've had this issue at multiple U-Haul locations.In Won C.

The self-serve app needs to be updated! It does not work properly with android smartphones. Thank goodness my husband was picking me up after returning the van, because I ended up needing to use his iPhone to complete the process. It simply would not work on my android phone. He recalls that we had this exact same problem a few years ago too, when we both had android phones. Please fix! Oh, also, in the dark, I must have accidentally hit the panic button on the key but nothing successfully turned it off until I started the van back up. it might be helpful to provide some "getting to know your van" information as part of the rental. The cargo van I rented lacked any operable turn signals, which I did not discover until I was too far away to return the vehicle. Is it too much to ask that rented vehicles be in SAFE OPERATING CONDITION?! Was exposed to pretty severe hazards (and could have been stopped by law enforcement) by this lack of attention to routine, proper maintenance. Totally unacceptable!Thomas S.

I tried not to give negative reviews as I know the new staff works really hard but the GM always has a very negative attitude he is very lucky for having a great group of people that looks after him. He assigned me a duty and recently return truck but his staff noticed and came to apologize for him - this location is very convenient for me but this is not the first time he does something like it - for what I saw he creates a very unhealthy environment for customer and staffNery S.

The interior of the trailer smelled like gasoline. There were packing blankets inside that I believe were the origination of the smell. But the lack of service/support was a bit disappointing.HARRY H.

The wifi is weak and spotty at this location, which made the online return process frustrating because it kept disconnecting me so I'd have to start over. If it is going to be required for after hours returns, with the threat of a 20 $fee if I leave the keys but don't successfully complete the online return process then you need to ensure you provide strong stable wifi so my mobile device can do itREBECCA S.

I forgot my hitch ball. I had to go back and get it. Due to traffic, it took an hour. I asked the manager to adjust my return time accordingly. He declined. I had to rush to get it back as I rented it for 24 hours.NAGESH B.

The truck I received was clean but very old. The lights in side the cargo did not work. They were burned out. It was difficult to unload in the dark. I returned the truck early in the evening rather than the next day at noon. Thinking that I was being nice and someone else can use the truck. Well I was charged 20 dollars after hours fee. What! The experience to pick up and pack the U-Box and return to the Tacoma Park facility was easy and very smooth. However, we were never notified when the U-Box arrived at it's expected destination in Webster, TX. From the original reservation, we expected the U-Box to be delivered and available on October 18. However, when checking in with the U-Haul facility in Webster we eventually found out that the U-Box had been delivered to them more than one week earlier! We were never notified. I made several calls to U-Haul trying to find the status of my U-Box while in transit, but I could never get any real information. Since we had to make arrangements to borrow a pickup with a trailer hitch to retrieve the U-Box, it would have been nice to know when to expect it throughout the transit. We would have much rather had the contents of our U-Box made available to us as soon as it arrived in Webster (even if it arrived early) than to have to wait the original amount of time and have the U-Box simply sitting at that facility. Two things - we should have been notified once it was delivered to its final destination, and there should be some tracking method available to see the progress of the shipment (as I am sure that U-Haul keeps good logistical records of everything that it moves). The customer should have access to information about their move. One last thing - the local Webster U-Haul location had their phone set to transfer all incoming calls to the nationwide call center for U-Haul - which made it very inconvenient to contact someone at that location directly. After several phone calls over a couple of days, I finally had to drive down to the location in person to find out that our U-Box had arrived a week earlier. Not very customer friendly when you have to drive to the location in order to talk to a person at the facility.Mark K.
This was not a good experience from the start. i arranged for a ubox at a location nearest me only to discover--without any notice from u haul--that the pick-up location had changed and i had to drive an extra hour to pick up the box. although the supervisor ok'd drop off at the original Maryland location, there was much confusion. the box seems to have been shipped on time, but the website never changed from stating the box was in storage at Takoma park. i was never notified (email, txt, or call) that the box arrived; i had to track that down. i indicted that email was the preferred contact method. the website never updated from a status of 'storage in Takoma Park.' there was no response to email inquires, no response to website contact and the status remained 'storage in Takoma park.' we discovered the box was delivered only because i got an additional 125 $storage charge in Colorado. then once we confirmed it was in CO at pickup we were told it was not there, and that it was being shipped back to Maryland as no one picked it up??!! Tim Doehler in CO was most helpful in getting this untangled. we got the box about ten days later once it was located. we are also being refunded the storage charge. if uhual is going to use technology (email, website etc.) someone needs to e sure it is working (and no, emails did not go into spam or junk file.) thank youMarianne E.

The truck I got only had a quarter tank of gas in it. This is obnoxious: 1. It means that I need to worry about gas when I'm driving and potentially fill up twice for an in-town move. Highly inconvenient. 2. If I return a truck with less gas than I started, I get charged a fee and for the gas. Turns out that money isn't being used to actually put gas in the trucks! Also wouldn't recommend using online check-in here -- huge lot, you'll end up needing to ask someone for help finding a truck, and then walk back to the store to get the keys anyway.Yevgeny S.

The vehicle was not that well maintained. It has lots of scratches and dents. I'm sure the goal is to repair as little as possible but having to identify all the dents and scratches so not to be swindled is a burden and indicates that customer service is not a high priority.MARK S.
