I was almost scammed by this location. They did not record accurate gas usage and proceeded to charge me 13,50 $ for 3 gallons of gas despite the fact that we put gas in the truck after usage. It took several phone calls and over a week to get my money back. I am very upset with the fact that this is probably a regular practice to make more money by the company.Joseph H.
The van wasn't in the stated location. The keys were not located in the Dropbox as stated. The interior of the van was dirty. The van needed an oil change; this made me doubt the vehicles here are well maintained.Jesus T.
Good Evening, We were charged an after hours moving fee of 20,00 $ because your truck was not available for us to pick up on the specific day that we had reserved (4 weeks in advance). When we went to pick up the truck, a day late, we had to wait another 45 minutes in your office because the credit card system was down. Then we had no place to park the truck over night because we were in Washington DC with a parking garage with only a 6 foot clearance. We had to drop off late because of all the problems we had with U-Haul not having our truck on the day it was scheduled (4 weeks in advance) and then we were delayed once again because of your computer glitch. When we were FINALLY able to leave 4 1/2 hours later than we had anticipated. So you see we had no choice but to return your truck after hours. The staff was top notch and very accommodating but I waited at the checkout counter for almost an hour while they waited for the computer system to progress to the next page. The staff seemed to suggest this was a common occurrence which is unacceptable for a such a large corporation whose business model depends on a functioning computer system. The instructions to stay in your vehicle upon returning it were very unhelpful as no one came to receive it. This may be because I came close to closing time. I made many attempts to return it via the website, but there was a freak thunderstorm that ran over me as I was trying to do this and I was unable to take a picture of the placement of the vehicle as my phone was unable to take pictures of the vehicle in the pouring rain.PATRICK L.
Our U-Box arrived with a hole in it when it was delivered to the final destination. It would appear that something happened either during transport or at one of the two storage facilities. It would have been nice to know before it was delivered that the U-Box had sustained damage. I had to call to find out how to file a claim.Cary J.

I had a very bad experience with this location. The inside of the truck was dirty when I picked up the vehicle. I had to clean it out before using it. Before I returned the truck, I cleaned it. I was shocked to discover that I was charged a cleaning fee because the truck was cleaner when I dropped it off than it was when I picked it up. I reviewed photos of the truck and cannot understand this. I was also overcharged for gasoline. On the U-Haul website it states 15' trucks get 10 miles to the gallon. I drove 45,5 miles and was charged for 7 gallons (70 miles). This feels like a shakedown. U-Haul invents charges and forces the consumer to accept? this is is how U-Haul treats working families? The overcharges are false and we were negatively impacted by this.JOHN P.

The customer service was absolutely terrible. I took so long for the employees just to acknowledge us and when I can finally approach one they barely even acted like we are there. The truck didn't handle well it was a sloppy drive, and the breaks were so loud it was terrible. I was told the truck was filed to 3/4 of a tank but when I get in it was only Half a tank. I tried to use the link I was texted but it wouldn't work it kept saying that the link was â€œunavailableâ€. So I tried to call the shop and after being told to wait on hold with no response for 45 minutes I hung up. I called back 4 more times and could never get ahold of someone. I don't know if this is a normal U- Haul experience but I won't be using it again.JAKOB V.
Network at that place is bad(app not working when I picked up my truck), the staff reviewing my license online is unprofessional, because she thought my license in a very good status was suspended and asked me to change driver. Employee lied about adding drivers to contract and refused to do so, forcing me to use online portal instead. Employee was consistently rude and refused to answer questions. Employee refused to print the full contract and instead only provided receipt. When I asked how to obtain the list of drivers (required for my contract with a moving company), they insisted there was no way to access this, either via the website or for them. Vehicle had a scheduled 9am pickup but was not ready until 10:40am. Vehicle had spilled paint in the back. Employees attempted to clean by running a hose with no head over the back of the truck. When this didn't work, they put down furniture blankets but didn't dry the truck, so water sloshed out while we drove the truck.Austin H.

Your U-haul phone operators must be trained on the details of U-box delivery, and the importance of communicating with the receiving center to make sure U-box is accessible on the date of customer request. The phone operator who created reservation#97117985 was highly interested in creating the pickup truck reservation, and was told by me that out clean out and move daye was july 2nd. She did Nothing to communicate this with the Takoma Park Center and the move could not happen because u-box was in a non accessible spot with no notice. Caused 3 day moving delay and an additional 300 $moving permit fee to city of Washington DC. Big uhaul operator mistake..... huge mistake. When I got the truck it was at 1/8 of a tank. I was asked to bring it back at 1/4 of gas and I would get credited. I brought it back with more that 1/4 of a tank and not only was I not credited but I was charged an additional 35 $. No one answers the phone when I call. I get out on hold for long periods of time until I have to hang up.Nichole W.
This review is for U-Haul Moving & Storage at Peters St-Atlanta, GA where our U-Box was delivered. Our experience using U-Box with the Peters St location was the worst moving experience I have ever had and I advise potential customers not to use the U-Box service through this location. Despite our U-Box arriving on time at the Peters St location from it's origin in Washington, DC, we did not receive our U-Box until two days after the scheduled delivery date--which had been confirmed months in advance. According to the moving company we hired through U-Haul to deliver and unload the U-Box, they were unable to access the U-Box on time because the Peters St. location did not put the U-Box on a trailer. When the U-Haul location was not cooperating with the movers hired through the U-Haul system, we attempted to reach the Peters St. location ourselves. They never answered the phone, resulting in our calls being answered by the corporate office. Eventually the moving company because so frustrated with the location that they suggested we try to switch movers through the U-Haul Moving Help system, but they system would not let us. Throughout the multiple days of calling the Peters St. location and the corporate office, we never received any communication from U-Haul suggesting there might be a delay in delivery. The only communication we received was from the movers who were trying to access the U-Box. It is completely unacceptable for our U-Box to have been delivered two days late because the location was not able to put it on a trailer, despite it arriving in the correct physical location on schedule. Further, there was no communication from U-Haul and the location was unreachable. When I did reach corporate, they asked if I would like to schedule my next rental while on the phone. I will never be renting from them after this experience and will be using PODS for my future moving and storage needs.Emily J.

The online process was great, and I appreciated that. However, the in-person experience was lacking as I had to interact with the staff. They were friendly but seemed limited in what they could do. For example, I ordered a furniture dolly online and I was instructed that the location had the dollies for pickup - this was not the case and the employees informed me that they had not had dollies in months - this is a major issue because you lost my business and $$ as they refunded me and I likely will not buy one from U-Haul. Additionally, I did not feel safe in the area, even during the day-time.Lynn V.
The truck was the worst truck I've ever rented. Over 100k miles, transmission shot, engine revved way to high and wouldn't change gears. They didn't have any of the dollies available that I ordered so gave me one that was useless for my purposes.Tony B.
