NO ONE ANSWERS THE PHONE!!! We rentied a truck to take some belongings to Baltimore, After loading the truck and before leaving for Baltimore, we tried calling the Takoma Park U-Haul center to find out how to handle toll charges regarding the Fort McHenry Tunnel. The Tunnel toll is no longer accepting cash and the truck is not equipped with an EZ Pass transponder.Using the Tunnel would make the trip much faster and reduce our milage by at least 20 miles. When I called and made a selection to speak to a staff person, a an automated voice said "Please Hold" and then there was total silence. After waiting for 10 minutes, I hung up and started to drive to our destination. Meanwhile, my wife sitting next to me, tried the Takoma Park office. The same thing happened. We then tried to use the 800 customer service number. She was put on hold and and an automated voice came on and said " Your estimated wait time is 5 to 10 minutes. After waiting for more than 10 minutes, the voice came on again and said again "Your wait is 5 to 10 minutes." My wife staid on the phone all the way to Baltimore, trying to get an answer to our question. We decided to take the long way around on the Baltimore Beltway which generated extra milage and caused delay for us. On the way back, realizing the we had to take the quickest way, so as to reach the Takoma Park center by 7:00pm and avoid being charged for an extra day, we had to put off our concerns about extra toll charges and went through the Tunnel. We barely made it back to the Takoma Park center before closing. When I asked the staff person at the office why no one would respond to our calls, he said without any apology that they deal with the customer standing in front of them and if there is a long line of customers, there's no telling how long I might wait. I asked him if they could even tell the person on the phone that they are very busy and to "please wait". He had no answer to this. I have used U-Haul services many times over the years. They have been generally been very positive experiences. But this experience has really opened my eyes as to your attitude toward customer service.JOHN E.

Awful customer service. No one wanted to help. Employees were rude and had an attitude. I honestly felt like I was at the post office or DMV. Couldn't find my truck after given the key, had to go back in the store, wait in line, and here my truck was parked in the garage in the back (unavailable to customers). The male employee who was processing return trucks was extremely rude and almost ran me over with the truck he was driving. Also, I ordered a furniture dolly, and it wasn't in the truck. I had to go back in the store, and wait in line for them to tell me they were out of dollies. Why couldn't the employee tell me that when she handed me the keys? She didn't bother removing the dolly charge from my bill. I had to go back inside to do that too. Finally, the area itself is just bad. You have shady people loitering around the parking lot and sitting by the trucks. Not sure if they're looking for work or what but it's not inviting.Joe C.

Vehicle and dolly were delivered with out paid for furniture blankets. No credit has been issued to date. No uhaul staff showed to review or inspect the vehicle prior to departure from location. Upon opening the rear door of the truck the guide wires unspooled which was not noticed until the vehicle was loaded at our first location. Lost 4,5 hours of use time between calling "customer service" and a "service man" attempting to repair the door to no avail. Was forced to use the vehicle with a broken door so we didn't lose any more time. Contacted "customer service" at the completion of the trip and was inform a General Manager would contact us about the issues with 72 hour. Turned in the truck and dolly on time per the contract as was still charged an additional days use for both. I will be reporting this to The Better Business Bureau and a yelp review. The additional charges will be disputed with our bank and my personal opinion is a significant credit should have been issued for the totally unacceptable services provided by UHAULAlexis M.

The general manager at this location runs an excellent, customer service oriented store. Highly recommend. The U-Haul app however, sucks ass. Do not use the app under ANY circumstances. If you're renting a truck/trailer, call the store(s) directly.Christopher P.

I keep getting referred to customer service and then back to the brick and mortar location. I would like assistance getting this credited to my credit card. The receipt you sent to me is wrong. Please correct it as soon as possible. I returned the pick up vehicle BP 6044 C at 6:13pm;; one hour and 17 minutes earlier. I dropped the key there at 6:16pm. I requested help for 2 customers to check out online they said the system doesn't work. I tried again online it didn't work. I call customer services U-haul. They put me on hold until I couldn't here anything from them. Check your video. I took some pictures. It's not fair. I had to essentially redo all of that again when came to the location as they stated the information doesn't transfer over. The line inside was quite long and the attendant OUTSIDE was just sitting on the side of a truck not helping anyone find their rental. Also, an item I had reserved wasn't available when I got to the location. The attendant said they'd refund the money, but they didn't. They just put a note on the account so the drop off U-Haul location had to take the charge off at THEIR expense. Not a very smooth or professional experience, which is a bummer because moving is pretty stressful as it is.Catherine F.

Reserved utility bed but none available. She gave me two hand trucks instead which worked too but not the same as the flat bed for larhe furniture pieces. Not Uhaul's fault. Someone probably just hadn't finished with it prior to my reservation. Rep was very professional and focused despite the busyness around her. She made good eye contact and gave me the attention I needed to answer questions thoughtfully. On another note, too many guys out front trying to pick up work helping with move. Very intimidating. I understand there is a demand for help on moving projects but it has to be done in formal market not the black market where there are no rules and no accountability (very risky business).Abeo V.

When we were about to pick up the van on 29th, the sensor noise kept reminding us that the rear door was open. We attended to the door and made sure it was properly closed. Yet the sensor noise won't go away. We called the attention of one of the attendants to the problem. He assured us that the noise would go away after awhile of driving the van. After we pulled out of U-haul packing lot, the noised continued and because we were getting late for our appointment, we had to endure the noise for thee rest of our time with the van. This was a poor service the customer.James M.

I don't do the ratings. The stars are worthless. However, I can say that this uhaul had the trailer I needed at a great price and on short notice. Which is why I have not purchased my own trailer. Uhaul is so ubiquitous that I can rent a trailer anywhere. Unfortunately, at this location, the employees are rather too laid back. At least the one's who hook up the trailers. I was alone out side and it was about to rain. The woman at the counter who assigned me the trailer and a man who walked by talked about who was going to hook it up and then he said he would and the dissapeared. A man walked by who was happy enough to help but he did not know how to properly clamp down the trailer on to the ball hitch or apparently, how to attract the safety chains to the receiver. So, I did both. The drop off was more of the same. No one to unhitch the trailer or stow it back where it belonged. Then walking in to find a woman sitting at the counter who said "You're good. You can go." This is more of a reflection on the general way people behave and act in the D.C. area. Entitled and ignorant. With a healthy dose of lazy thrown in. I'll still rent there. Because this location has the equipment I need at a great rate. But anything short of Trump coming back and cleaning out the swamp won't fix this because everyone knows the election was stolen and it's back to business as usual here in D.C.ROBERT D.
