When I placed my order I selected check out in the location - not self check out -yet UHaul took it upon themselves to alter my order a few days later to self check out - which did not work so I ended up in the retail location anyway. (Good thing I did because the equipment I asked for hadn’t been loaded) When completing my order online it gave me a total which did not match the total at the retail location (by $150) if a deposit is required please include this in the total balance due - it’s fraudulent to ask for payment in one amount then process another. Self return didn’t work and 5 days later I still don’t have my refund for the deposit because the return location never processed my truck return. The truck itself was great. The expectation and follow through poor.

had a credit card but was given the truck without one. they made me give them 100 cash deposit. truck fuel was not correct or agreement. no drop off location was provided and once it was it seemed to change multiple times. from my original call for my u haul and the surrounding confusion I received a minimum of 6 calls from your company with each person passing the buck. one person told me unless I was willing to go into Halifax for a 3rd time and debate the bill with the location I would be held responsible for 3 days late ? the truck was returned within 6 hours of my entitled 24 hour period. I was not explained km overage or what my limit was. I replaced the gas to where your paper work said even though I received in just above empty. after all said and done the 2 ladies working at windmill were atleast nice enough to waive the overage for km and give me back my deposit seeing how much of mess the file and issues were. I am still out the gas money and my time and my effort. your company is close to a manopoly so I'm sure I will be forced to continue to use you but I have shared this experience with my 12k followers on insta and told everyone I know and come across asking how my move went. worst experience hands down and never had problem in the past. most un organized company of all time for sure. I was told to photograph the truck in future a d gas levels when I rent as if they know they have scammers . seems insane for a company of this size. my two cents and opinion .

When I booked the truck, it says on my contract that I have 147 kms allowed. I used only 110 kms. When I returned the truck, they told me that I exceeded the mileage. Something is wrong with the system. Go figure.

Even though I had trouble with the maintenance of my rental equipment, the staff saved my overall experience. The staff went over and above to help make me fell satisfied and its because of them that I will remain a customer of the 22-24 Court St. location.

When i called and requested a half ton truck to tow my camper to the cottage when my truck broke down i requested a 4x4. At that time i was not told the truck i rented was not 4x4. I had the pleasure of being informed of that upon picking up the truck. When i arrived at the cottage to place my camper on flat ground but wet grass i got the truck stuck. When the camper was disconnected from the truck, it still was stuck. (Wet grass, mud, ) To make matters worse was how i was stuck and where...... middle of the lawn. The truck was spun down 2inches. thats not much, was less than halfway from the tread on the tire to the rim. The wonderful 2wd truck was not able to free itself from my lawn or dig its way out because of the poor tires installed on it. I suggest having some 4x4 trucks for situations like this theres others im sure that have encountered this im sure

Darrin and Michelle at the Court St. location went above and beyond in their efforts to facilitate our move. Couldn't ask anything more from them. Although I have never rented or driven an U-Haul vehicle before, I have heard some negative comments about difficulties involved in driving one of your vehicles. Darrin did explain to me that vehicle maintenance was conducted in Dartmouth. May I suggest that a maintenance report be available in each vehicle for customers to review in order to give them some confidence that the vehicle has been properly maintained and potentially not cause problems while on the highway.

Better than Newport. The guy at the desk was friendly but man he didn't listen. Just a darn broken record. I kept trying to get him to stop saying the same irrelevant jargon over and over, but he just wouldn't quit. I would call him "friendly" and "a nice fella", but goodness gracious just listen to what I'm saying for a darn second and stop interrupting me. I would have a beer with him, but 1/5 for my experience with him at uhaul. C'mon guys. I don't write bad reviews. This is just an awful enough system that I can't just stay quiet.

Had my pickup location changed on very short notice (60min) to a location across town that closes earlier. When I didn't get there on time, I went to my original pickup location and had to argue for nearly an hour before they gave me a different truck. This was a very frustrating experience.

The location is new and under heavy renovations but there seems to be a lot of confusion there. I was unsure of the ability for my 20' van to make it the 1700 km trip I needed to make because of a sound coming from the motor that the attendant informed me was a bad lifter, which after some research I learned will cause long term damage to the engine. I felt that he was just trying to get both myself and the van off the lot. This is concerning because I'll need to rent another unit for the same trip in late June. Should I give them another chance or perhaps be looking away from UHaul for another option? I don't know. I also pointed out a dent in the front bumper which had no X and was told not to worry...

The total cost at the end was almost triple what it was supposed to cost. I went to the dealer and inquired about truck rental from Summerside PE to Truro NS and about the possibility of picking up the truck here instead of Summerside because I did not have a car and the bus was going to arrive in Summerside 3 hours later than if I drove instead. I was quoted a cost of $277 not including safemove and taxes. I was given 550 free km as well. When I returned the truck I had no free km and had to pay 69 cents per km. I was quoted $17 for safe move but was charged $30. I had paid a $150 deposit and only got $43 back. I am not impressed and will think twice about renting uhaul again. I have rented many trucks over the years and this is the first time I have been ripped off. It would have been cheaper if I had picked the truck up in Summerside as a 2 day rental for $129 instead of being chard the daily rate plus mileage. I explained this to the person who made my reservation and she should have let me know the reservation may be changed and that I may be charged more than we agreed on.

Clearly states on my online confirmation page that I pick up Feb 8th and drop off Feb 12th. I drop it off and get charged for having it longer than 24 hours. Really great business practice.
