I made a reservation online for hitch installation. This location (Schofield, WI) did not have the proper tools on hand or a qualified person to do the job right. No penetrating oil was applied before attempting to remove the 4 bolts nessecsary to make the installation. The individual who did the work claims the first bolt broke by hand tools only, but I heard him using an impact wrench and he was the only service person there. This location did not have any tools available to fix the broken bolt that they caused by lack of any penetrating oil use and using a high power impact wrench to attempt to remove the bolts. I spent 2 hours here while this location called around town and tried to find "somebody" to fix what they had broken. I left without a hitch installed. My 242 mile round-trip to this location to get the job done was a complete waste of my time, money and travel plans for the holiday. I was finally told to take my vehicle to another Uhaul facility which is closer, newer and much better equipped, but cannot help me for at least another week. After losing my car to a deer a week ago and going through all that it involved in replacing it to this experience in getting a hitch installed, I'm frazzled. If you're going to try and make hitch installations -PLEASE- have all the tools needed and know how to use them before tying up peoples time and money.

One thing you need there is more staff Amanda was all by her self when I picked up my truck it was a 9 o’clock pickup and didn’t get out of there until 9:50 and there was 10 people waiting she was very professional and apologized to everyone for the wait. When I returned the truck Amanda was cleaning trucks while two guys where just leaning on a truck no one in the store and know one came into the store to help with return other than Amanda she could really use some good help at that location.

Customer service at this location is awful! One person working on a Friday? There was a line when I went to pick up, there was a line when I went to drop off after waiting for nearly 45 minutes to drop off and there was four people in line the employee finally said are you all dropping off vehicles? We all were and she said you can just leave the keys and I’ll take care of checking you out and email you your receipt. You couldn’t have told us that right away? I felt like I spent more time at U-Haul than I did for the actual move!! Why would you have only one employee on a Friday??? The truck was in major need of repair driving it was awful the steering wheel felt like it was going to fall off

This was an absolute disaster. Hitch scheduled for Tuesday the 25th. Website says 30 minutes. Tech told me 2 hours. An hour into the install they call to say they have the wrong wiring harness. The correct one was supposed to be ordered and the manager would be expedited it and would call me that night to set up another appointment. No one called. I tried the online chat on Wednesday to find out the status. They said I had to call the location. So zero help there. I call and wait on hold for 20 minutes only to be told they would have to leave the manager a message and he would call me back. No one called. I call yet again on Friday. Manager is struggling with being able to supply me with any sort of information. Said he would call me back. Seriously? Unacceptable. I give up at that point and my wife heads to Facebook for answers. There she found out the wiring harness was on backorder! Why couldn't someone just tell me that? They knew he badly I needed this installation completed. We cancelled the wiring installation and are talking with the credit card company to get refunded for that since we prepaid. Taking our business elsewhere and letting everyone know in the area to beware of Uhaul!

Nothing about this transaction was acceptable. Did the truck run? Yes. Did the truck suit our needs? Yes. That's where it ends. It was NOT easy to reserve. It was NOT easy to pick up , even with ALL requirements having been met prior to pick-up. The facility is run down, dirty and almost impossible to exit once we actually got the truck. Horribly understaffed, although I will say that both attendants were pleasant, but showed signs of a less than enthusiastic, career goals, "I'm supported by my company" spirit.

They was just to damn slow. I had called corporate earlier that day bc i was told by another customer that one of the employees had told him i couldnt pull out of the lot unless i had a full size pickup hooked to the dolly. Corporate confirmed it was fine the uhual app said it was fine but once i get there they said no its not. It took me telling them that corporate approved and and was to notify them if i had any problems. The employee then said it was fine and compatable.

At first I was not too happy as I was told my truck was considered too old and not heavy enough to pull the small car I needed to tow. But the guy instead offered the solution of renting me a truck also which was at a very reasonable price just made my day. Over all I was extremely happy with the outcome. It all worked out extremely well.

Please don't tell me you have a truck at a location when you don't. I was offered no compensation for this inconvenience. Your fail should not cost me. Location and people great, policy not so much.

Pick up this morning was handled quickly and efficiently, which was much appreciated given the line of 4 others ahead of me. Gentleman working was helpful and expedient. I like that you can make reservation on-line, do express check-in to save time and return vehicle after hours. Today's rental went very smoothly. I don't understand the reservation system. Twice prior to today I had a confirmed reservation, then was called 2 days before letting me know if I wanted the truck, I had to drive an hour to get it. The next time I was told my 24-hour reservation had to be cut to 7 hours. I know..."subject to availability", busy moving time, people change dates/times as I did. But, frustrating when you think you have something taken care of, and then you don't. Glad today worked out.

On a busy Saturday morning, they needed more workers. Wait time was unacceptable. At one point, 10 people were waiting in line. The workers looked overwhelmed, disheveled and the whole process of checking in was unorganized. Many times, all the workers were outside showing customers where their rental trucks were and no one was st the desk helping customers, answering phones or overall assistance. It was not a good experience checking in but returning the truck was a faster process.

Had appointment for trailer hitch install on a Wed. When I got there I was told it could not be done because another employee had left for a doctor's appointment. I had driven 60 miles for my install and had to drive back home again. They did do a very good job the next day Thur. when I returned and gave me a substantial discount for my inconvenience.

Horrible service. Waited over 30 minutes to pick up a 5x8 trailer that was reserved well in advance. Was told to return trailer by 7am the next day. The store didn't't even open until 9am. Had to come back later to find out that it is a self return using the website. Instructions could've been more clear.

A 90 minute appointment took 4 hours. I scheduled an 830 appointment and arrived at the store around 810. It took 30 minutes just to check in. When I gave my keys to the technician, he said it would probably take an hour and a half, but asked that I allow two hours. I returned to the store at 1115 and was informed it would take another 30-45 minutes to finish. It was almost 1230 by the time I left. During my wait I talked to the store manager, who informed me that it was the busiest day of the month and he couldn't hire enough people to keep up with the demand. The work appears to have been done well, but I am very disappointed with the experience.

Staff were excellent and friendly. I would highly recommend giving them phones that can be worn outside because they work outside and no one could answer the calls for 2 hours prior to closing. Dealing with the corporate or U-Haul people was an awful experience. They didn't listen to what I was saying and one put me on hold for 13 mins before I hung up as I wouldn't suspect that she was coming back to the phone call.

Truck cab was dirty. Windshield inside was very dirty with sticky spots all over it as well as the dash. Wipers smeared and worked poorly. Drivers side mirror kept falling every time we hit a bump.

We picked up the trailer they had available (bigger size, no extra charge but more expensive to tow) for a three day rental. Since it was not the vehicle in the original rental, we were charged for an extra day. The nit very helpful guy at the desk said it would be deducted from the three day total as long as it was back by 7 am. At 7 am they charged us for an additional three days! The trailer was full by then so we had no choice but to pay for it. We paid over $200 for a 25 hour rental!!!! Sage yourself some money and go somewhere else.

Visited the yard on Saturday morning after a Thursday/Friday morning major snow event. Efforts were being made to clear equipment the yard was a mess. Frost was out so plowing was not able to be done. Great efforts by the two individuals there, just a lot to do. Will rent from this location again.
