When you have customers make appointments, honor the appointment time that you agree to.. I had an 11:30 am appointment and had to wait for more than 2 hours before they took my car in to install the hitch. All this with no chairs or anything of a customer waiting facility Very disappointed and way below the standards that I have come to expect from a lifetime of contact with UHaul.

Truck wasn't available, even though website allowed me to make reservation. Left facility called customer service and was told no that my truck was there. Went back and then 45 minutes later was able to get a truck throwing my whole move schedule off which is why I only chose a 4 hour rental. All in all, this is the last time I'm using U-haul. Thank you

It took 40 minutes to wait in line to pick up my truck - they had one employee working on a Saturday morning! My reservation was for 8:00 AM and I wasn’t done until 8:20. Then I found chunks of people’s leftover boxes in the truck and it was covered in dust. The hand jack in the back also wasn’t even attached to the wall so it slid off and slammed the back of the cabin.

i was told the gas tank on my truck was full and i was told to return it that way. i only drove the truck about 15 miles and it cost me $17 to fill it back to full. i would have preferred a more accurate gas rate was checked with the previous driver because i paid too much to refill my tank.

We returned the truck around 8pm. We were told to leave the truck so they could file the return in the morning. We were then charged for not returning the moving blankets we rented. They were in the truck bed. I guess they don't inspect the truck beds with truck returns. Life lesson learned, you can't trust U-Haul.

I had a 9:00 am reservation to have a hitch installed. I tried multiple times to call and get an update. The call was forwarded to central U-Haul. I showed up at 6:15 PM and they were just pulling it into the bay. I finally got it after 7 PM. The next day I also noticed that the cardboard wrapping was still on the hitch. I think its "funny" that they tell customers walking in that they should call for a status. They rarely pickup the phone. Something really needs to change here.

Terrible experience overall. Representatives at the UHaul facility in West Hartford did not know how UBoxes worked and had barely heard of the system. The UBoxes were 2 hours late during the loading window, (I loaded them at the facility without delivery to my home) which gave me only an hour to load the box. I had to get access to the Uboxes during storage and put in a request 3 days in advance. I called twice to confirm they would be ready. I showed up day of and the boxes were still in storage, and the employees informed me that only one individual could operate the forklift and he wouldn't be in until the following day. I call the next day and finally arrange to get access to the box. The final delivery was also delayed by 4 hours, which is unacceptable as I had movers assigned for a specific time. I will never use this service again and will advise every person I meet to avoid this service at all costs.

The wait was very long to pick up a vehicle. They give you the keys and tell where on the lot to find it, they dont pull it out for you. The vehicle was parked so close to the other one that I had to climb through the passengers side to get to the drivers seat. There was a large cardboard sign in the windshield that I had to remove myself. The side mirror was folded in on the drivers side because it was too close to the other truck and made it difficult to reverse.

Equipment was broken when we went to pick it up. The electrical cords to the light did not work. We could not rent it and there were no replacements. I reserved a week in advance and we were depending on the reservation for that date. They billed us anyway and I am trying to reverse the charge with difficulty. The entire process is a hot mess I would not recommend them. If they were even mildly customer oriented they would have some sort of quality control in place to ensure your reservation is honored.

I am very impressed with the ease of reserving and also pick up. The vehicle was very good. I would suggest that the transaction be completed without a lot of interruptions by others to answer questions. All in all pleasant and knowledgeable staff to deal with.

The staff at this location is super. I am a repeat customer here- I rent several times a year. My only problem is that the vehicle usually is at 1/2 tank and that makes it really inconvenient since I have to immediately be thinking about fuel. It's also challenging to be sure it is returned with the same amount. I usually end up returning it with more than when I started.

I had no issue with the West Hartford site, but there was a big issue with the Uhaul website. I originally reserved a truck at the New Britain location for 11AM, but then I was told there were no trucks available until 1:30PM and I was scheduled for that time. Once I got to the site, I was told I was scheduled for the Plainville site, but the customer hadn't returned the truck on time, so I ended up having to go to West Hartford. It would be great if the website could be improved for more accurate orders in the future, since the delay and incorrect info cost me 4 hours on moving day.

I originally reserved/booked a motorcycle trailer online from the Hartford rental location. As the U-Haul app and website suggested, several days before the day of the rental I stopped by the Hartford store to have my vehicle pre-inspected. I was assured my reservation was all set and the car was determined to be fine to pull the trailer. When I arrived on Thursday, 5/16 at approximately 4:30pm at the Hartford store I was informed they had rented their one and only motorcycle trailer earlier that day. After several frantic phone calls by the apologetic clerk she told me I had to go to the West Hartford rental location to pick up the trailer. Although it took much longer to complete the process, and I was forced to reschedule my Thursday afternoon/evening event due to the Hartford rental location mishandling of my reservation, the people at the West Hartford rental location both during the pickup and drop off office were truly professional and helpful!

The trailer had a hole in the floor where a rivet/screw was missing. When I returned the trailer the store was understaffed with only one employee and a long line of customers. I only go to this store because they have the trailer I need. The Hartford CT location where Kevin is the manager is superior but no trailer in the right size. You guys need some competition to up your game!

The return process was difficult. I was one minute after closing as the gas station was , believe it or not out of gas. This of course is not your fault, but I used online checkout and several times it would not let me log in and then after I did, I went through the checkin process, complete with photos and then it circled me back to the beginning so I had to do the whole thing over again. The check in process took 20 minutes, all while a uhaul employee kept going in and out of the building ignoring me, likely because you were officially closed, but frustrating nonetheless. The person who rented me the van was extremely nice and helpful.

The entire process was swift, friendly, and customer-focused. It was a painless process in what otherwise could've been a very stressful and tiring day. One negative bit of feedback is the cost- it is on par with other moving truck rental agencies, but the advertising is misleading. A truck advertised as $30/day and $1 a mile cost me over $70, when I only went 24 miles. Not a huge difference from what I was expecting to pay, but there are some hidden fees that I think would be better off being built into the cost/day figure for more upfront, honest advertised rates.

We had to drive all over to pick-up our truck, trailer and equipment. Very bad service as truck was disgusting inside of cab with dirty windows and split drinks all over the cab from previous users. The storage area was never cleaned out from previous users nor was the truck air tight as holes were in the bottom of the bed.

A call to the call center gave incorrect information, vans do not seat 3 people, also a 10 ft truck does not seat 3 people. More accurate information needed. Had to upgrade to a much larger than needed truck costing much more in fuel and tolls. Staff friendly and helpful apologized for any confusion.

There was no gas in the truck. Had to refuel before doing anything. The online APP doesn't work for pick-ups. Rented a 15ft truck 2 weeks in advance, only to get a phone call that the truck was not available the night before. Terrible experience.
