The customer service was extremely poor. I was consistently instructed to use the website to check in/return my vehicle despite being in person at the time. When I returned the vehicle I was told by a U-Haul employee to complete the self check out and leave the keys in the truck only to get a call the next day asking where the truck was despite me returning it 24 hrs earlier. First time renting a UHAUL, I actually rented twice in one week and it was seamless. Checking in and dropping off was easy.Michael J.
The original vehicle I was told on my app was parked in. I clicked that we couldn't move it and the app sent me to another one that I could. That was nice, but it would have been better if the original one was accessible. The check-in process was kind of long on the app - although maybe it would have been just as long in the store. It was also difficult to get out of the lot as another renter just left their van sitting in the exit lane while they went inside, and then a tow truck was making the passageway narrow - he moved so we could pass by but it was still a very tight fit. And the truck was parked with a lot of other equipment around it so we had to be very careful maneuvering out of the initial parking spot. Return was quick and easy - my driver just pulled up and an employee helped him before I could walk from my car in the parking lot to return it with the app. The truck was checked in by the employee and my app updated shortly after.MICHAEL F.
The manager was extremely unprofessional and I notified Isaiah that the vehicle had an issue which prevented me from properly driving it. I spoke with 4 different employees of uhaul, 2 employees at the Brighton location and 2 via phone at the customer service department and no one notified me that I could deal with road side assistance and EXCHANGE FOR A DIFFERENT TRUCK instead of road side assistance just picking up the vehicle. If I had known I would of informed my client to wait while I get the box truck exchanged. I asked Isaiah how come I wasn't notified of this from his staff and he said this is apart of manager training only. I find that hard to believe but he told me that is only information for managers and road side assistance. The service extremely poor especially from Isiah. Instead of resolving the problem he said it he couldn't help me until I asked for a district manager and then claimed he was the big boss and nobody is above him only the marketing manager. I've never dealt with such poor service. I typically rent out 3-4 times weekly from this particular store over the spring to summer and lesser times during the fall & winter due to business being slower. I'm a contractor and will certainly stop using u-haul after this experience. I'm not sure if it was lack of customer service training or an egotistical chip off of Isaiah's shoulder but he definitely is not an ideal manager that leads by example but is on some power trip.KEITH M.

Streamline the reservation system or remove the dealers from the system altogether (there was confusion because we reserved a truck at a dealer, the dealer was flustered and didn't have the truck we reserved, we got bounced to Brighton, the employee initially said we didn't have a reservation)Bryan B.

The person I met when delivering my keys in person promised a refund for overfilling the gas. He asked for my receipt and I gave it to him as he said they would credit my account. I received a call later at night from the manager asking where the Uhaul Truck was. The person who received my key never completed the transaction to confirm I returned the vehicle and I am still unsure about my refund. Unfortunate as I followed all instructions to the tee except for accidentally filling the gas to Full.Rilwan I.
Very easy to book online. Upon arrival the staff was friendly and efficient in getting me the truck and the return is a breeze. I highly recommend this particular location. This is my 3rd dealing with them and all 3 have been great. Keep up the great work WILLIAM M.
1. Don't ask questions at the counter that can be easily answered online in advance. 2. If the additional rental equipment is listed as available on the website, make sure it's actually available. 3. Don't rip off the customer with additional gas charges and "city fees".Dennis Y.
When I walked in there was no one visible in the store. It took a number of minutes for an actual employee to appear, long enough for another two customers to come in. The woman who "helped" me did not get off her phone the entire time I was in the store. She informed me that the three dollies I had added to my rental order were not available, because "people just take them and don't bring them back," as though this was my fault rather than the company's for having them still showing as available to rent on their website. I ended up buying two dollies from Uhaul because I couldn't move my furniture without them. The truck itself was fine and did exactly what I needed it to do. The price was reasonable. I didn't like that there was only street parking, as I was a little bit nervous about leaving my car there for 12+ hours while I used the Uhaul, but there were no issues with it.Sarah H.

there was a 36 inch crack in the center of the windshield. I told the counter person, they said it was the only truck available (I reserved a week ahead). I called again the next day and the person had no explanation when I asked why they allowed this, I asked to have a credit applied to my bill, but she refused. The tire pressure was low and the red light was on, the radio and light were also not working. Also, I declined the coverage but it was charged to my bill. The gas was 5/8 full on pickup and I returned the car with the tank 7/8 full but did not get a credit.Isabelle R.

I had reserved a van at the Allston location to ensure I could park my car. For some reason they didn't have my reservation or a van and I had to go to Brighton. There were no available street parking options and I parked at CVS as I was already an hr behind schedule. I was towed for $149. I will never be using this location again. It not worth the misplaced reservation when at the time of booking there was a van, being over an hour late, and as a student with limited funds having to get towed and pay for it. Plus the van I did use had the worst oder ever.Hinda F.
The service at this location is very good. The Cargo Van that I rented was the problem, when I hit the brakes at 40mph the steering wheel was shaking like crazy, never any windshield fluid, and always the low tire pressure light on,Alaor H.

This is the 1st TRAILER I've rented. The check in went smoothly. The staff was great! They attached the trailer to my car to make sure it was done properly. We did a safety check of the lights. It was a one way rental. I got an extension on my return time and successfully returned it!Carol H.

The facility was fine. Our entire experience e working with uhaul was terrible. Sorry. I booked the installation.months in advance (the earliest I could get in() ar another location and when I showed up (after taking time off of work), was told that the person who did the installations quit a few days earlier. That is understandable, but ther was Jno notice given to me at all. I so j rebooked at this location. Bc of said experienxe, k wanted reassurance that nkthjbg else would go wrong. The manager was very kind snd made sure we were taken care of well. Still, my overall experience with Uhaul had been unsatisfactoryChristina C.
The staff were unhelpful and uncommunicative. I had to go to this location on 6 separate occasions because they were totally inaccessible by telephone, even though the staff there indicated that they would call me with updates which they never did. They put the wrong ball hitch on my equipment causing it hang just an inch or two above the road surface and probably caused damage to the roads and definitely caused damage to the wiring. This wiring damage caused us to have to contact roadside assistance for repairs and make an unexpected stop. We were also driving without indicator lights during the period of time between damage and maintenance. Totally unacceptable and unprofessional, I would never go to this location again or recommend it to anyone.Levi D.
The hitch that I ordered was not available by the date that I has scheduled to have it installed but no one from the location called to tell me before I showed up. They said they would call me the next day with more information and would give a discount for the inconvenience but never did either. I called the main U-Haul help line to try to get more information on when I could get the hitch on my car since I was suppose to have a trailer rental and moving the following week. They tried to get ahold of the location multiple times and couldn't and the manager was asked to call me and they never did. Finally just went again in person as they main help line said it looked like my parts were in but no one could get ahold of them. When I got there they still said they were missing the wiring and couldn't install it. I went back a third time and they finally installed a hitch but damaged the socket in the taillight that I had to take to the shop to be replaced and the blinker and break lights so longer worked.Dominoe J.

Extremely frustrating that my original pickup was Allston and I was forced to go to Brighton â€" when I reserved my Allston spot the U-Haul website promised â€œreservation guaranteed or we pay you $50â€. On Sep 16th, I picked up a van I ordered online and while the customer service at the location was friendly I was surprised to see that the gas tank was not full but only 3/4 full. Upon return I filled up gas to return the car as I received it with a 3/4 tank full but was very surprized and frankly disappointed to see see that they have charged me for gas.Eran G.

The website didn't let me load the page to upload my driver's license when I was trying to pick up the van, leading to spending 10-20 minutes longer trying to figure out why the https://uhaul.com website would load on my phone but the page I was sent by the clerk didn't. Very frustrating and disappointing. Also, the links being sent in emails and texts are http:// instead of https://. Please improve the security of your services.Michael H.

The truck I rented ran well ! The only thing I didn't like is that it wasn't clean when I picked it up ! I ended up having to clean the inside of the Windows and the steering wheel was sticky ! Other than those things the truck ran perfectly !ROBERT K.
I was able to make a 6 am reservation online and that was confirmed over the phone the day before by CS. We showed up at 6:15 am to find no access to the rental we had made. The man that was organizing the trucks was extremely rude and was doing a terrible and careless job of parking the trucks. I witnessed him driving the trucks and having them hit other trucks in the lot and just banging up the mirrors. It was appalling. I really hope I never have to visit this location again.Jocelyn A.
