It was the strangest experience. I think the uhaul person and I exchanged 20 words total. No look over the truck, no talk through the contract... here are the keys and he jumped in another truck and sped up to the door blocking my exit. I wasn't sure if he was coming back. I waited over 5 mins before another customer moved so I could get out. Just weird!Andrew B.
I would suggest that there is a better way to reach the office by phone - we tried calling a number of times to let the office know that we would be picking up the truck later than expected and we could never get through to a person or to even leave a message. But other than this, the site has a number of trucks and equipment available so this is really very helpful.BOBBY H.
Van was clean and worked well. There was only one person working and many customers when I picked up and dropped off the van. The same lady working was doing both returns and rentals which made the process longer but she kept it together, stayed composed. She was kind, helpful and did a great job!! The line was over an hour wait. There should have been more people working and another employee to bring the correct Uhaul forward. The price I was quoted online was almost 200 $cheaper than what I was told and had to pay at this location. Overall, I was not a very happy customer.brian S.
Pay attention to your costumer and act that you want to be there and part of Uhal. The worst service and attitude I ever got! Super disappointed. Very disappointed from the whole experience, because of mechanical issues from the hitch attachment we had to leave about 2 hours after schedule what made us drive at 2:00 a.m.ANA S.

We had an appointment in the morning and did the online pre check-in, but ended up waiting 45 minutes in line to get our keys. When we got out to our truck, they had placed it against the fence behind another uhaul in the same spot boxed in from all angles, requiring another 10 minutes to get an employee to move the truck obstructing our spot. Best part was I had to go into the store to tell them they had parked a truck in this spot, then had to walk all the way back out to get the number of the truck blocking ours for them to get the keys for it... as in they had no idea what other truck THEY had parked in the spot with our reserved truck. When we finally were able to get in the truck and get it moving - it was in not great condition but wasn't falling apart either - the parking break release was broken but still semi functional. Truck didn't have garbage in it but was just dusty in the cab. Upon return I was finishing the online return check list and locked the cab doors when an employee told me to leave the keys in the cab, rather than the truck like the app directions said... not one to argue, I repeated his instructions back to him to make sure that's what he wanted, did so and left. I get a call about 45 minutes later as I'm unpacking things from the move and that same employee instructs me to call AAA or a lock smith because, as he told me to do and confirmed twice, I locked the keys in the truck and it would be 100 $fee if I didn't call a secondary company to unlock the truck because HIS UHAUL LOCATION didn't have a spare key for this truck AT THE LOCATION I PICKED IT UP FROM AND DROPPED IT OFF AT. I told him I'd call him back and checked my rents agreement and, sure enough, I had purchased Safetrip (covering lockouts and lost keys) AND Safemove plus which covers all damage to the vehicle, so I had my partner call him back as I was busy unpacking after a long day moving and let the uhaul associate know we would not be calling a AAA for them because this is not our problem per the rental agreement... we technically didn't even have to give the keys back because we were covered for lost keys - so a lockout, which also covered, at their own location was a best case scenario for them. Also, they could have smashed a window to get in and I'd still be covered so it was just insanely rude to bother us with that after it's literally the instruction he gave me while I was dropping it off, and not our problem per the extra fees paid for Safetrip and Safemove Plus - plus the associate was incredibly rude about HOW he spoke to my partner and I... not just that he shouldn't have called us at all. Overall, just glad the truck ran and we made our round trip safely. But from pickup to even AFTER dropout this location was an unparalleled pain. 1 star because I can't leave zero. Id be happy to stand by the 1 star itself if y'all remove the 10 $charge for the dolly y'all never put in our truck as per our reservation.Michael N.

This was unfortunately a very frustrating experience. Per my reservation, I was supposed to pick up my truck at U-Haul's Neighborhood Dealer in Allston, but I was informed upon arrival that my truck was instead at U-Haul's Brighton facility, and that I would have to get it there. This not only cost me valuable time and convenience on my move-out day, but also required me to drive farther than I had anticipated, which ran my bill up. Furthermore, when I arrived in Brighton, the truck's engine was faulty, and I had to troubleshoot it several times over the course of the day, which took additional time. Saturday was a difficult day for a move due to the high temperatures in Boston, and U-Haul did not make it any easier. Just an incredibly underwhelming experience that's rendered me very unsure about whether to use the service in the future.Michael R.

Vacuum cab seats between customers (I think the person who had the van before me was transporting sawdust and woodchips by the looks of it). Also more transparent pricing-- I was quoted 40 $online when I reserved the van, but got charged 70 $because of a state/city rental fee that hadn't originally been disclosed. A minor fee isn't a big deal, but when it almost doubles the total cost it's pretty aggravating.Jeanna R.

The individual helping me was great. There was a long line, he was solo, other customers were upset when their equipment wasn't ready and took it out on the employee but he stayed calm and was kind the whole time,Jonathan S.
Last minute change to a different location was horrible. I purposely chose the Boylston location, and they said there wasn't enough vans. I had to change all my moving plans. There was only 1 person working. He was amazing, but so overwhelmed. The van had a used mask on the dashboard. He was so busy he forgot I also included 2 dollys. This is the WORST location that I have been to. the manager behaves like a thug, not only with our attention but also with other customers when we were there. He doesn't have the skills (being nice). He looks like he always has the reason, and doesn't listen. it wasn't only with us, we saw him also arguing with elderly people long time very rude, in the end, they showed a picture to show that they were right and guess what, they were right!!!! AVOID this trash location. At the end we understood, he behaves in life like that, after taking his fast and furious' car and leaving the location as fast as he could....CRISTIAN L.

I set up a truck reservation, but when I got the call to confirm, they said no truck was available and I had to return the truck to the pickup location. This meant I had to drive the truck an extra 2 hours to return it, and then had to have someone drive 2 hours to pick me up, and then we drove another 2 hours back to our new residence. Clearly there was no truck reserved and that wasted 4 hours of my time, and 4 hours of my co-driver's time. If this review were for the U-Haul experience and not for the store location, I would give it 1 star. The staff at this location were great.THOMAS B.

The only nit-picky things I can come up with is that it would be great to be advised by the staff that a text would be coming to approve the vehicle condition and that the webpage wouldn't let me upload it picture of a scuff I wanted to document. Only one person was working and unfortunately I can't say that she is interested in assisting me with the regular process. I already checked in online and I was asked the same information again. Then I was given the keys and told "vehicle is on the right side". When I got out, I saw several vehicles. I tried to find them from their plate number since I thought it was the plate number on the key chain, could not locate the vehicle. I went back and rep told seemed upset that I could not locate it and told me it is the code on the vehicle (how would I know this?). The vehicle had already damage on it and mileage was incorrect. I immediately responded to the text from U-haul to check the vehicle and its mileage. I had to take pictures of the damage of the vehicle and incorrect mileage and forward to u-haul to dispute. It took me time and it is the moving day for me, which time was precious. After I brought back the truck, she told me just to leave the keys and I am all set. Later that day I received a final bill from u-haul stating the incorrect mileage and was charged 21 dollars more, just because they have entered incorrect mileage for the truck. I had to call u-haul twice, first time waited 50 minutes and could not reach anyone, second time 35 minutes and had to email as well and it was not my fault. Not a single member of u-haul apologized for me. Very disappointed with all this, you can and should do better.DENIZ E.

This place is actually horrible. They charged me for a surge charge when there was 15 vans outside waiting to be driven, and loads of keys on the door. Oh yeah, and I forgot to mention I rented a truck and they said it would be there, but when I got there they told me to come back at 1:30 PM. You need to give advance notice if the equipment ordered is unavailable. I ordered a dolly and furniture pads with my 10' truck and they had none available and gave me no advance notice. In fact the attendant didn't even mention it until I discovered my truck was empty as I was pulling out of the lot.
