The manager was rude and unfriendly on Saturday, November 15. We and a number of others had tried to use the 24/7 app to pick up trucks. There were no keys in the lock box for us as had been promised by the service. The top key lockbox #1 didn't work and the manager said it didn't. The #2 lockbox was wide open without any key. Thus we wasted an hour waiting for the manager to arrive to get our truck. Then the truck was blocked by a trailer and obviously hadn't been prepped even though we'd reserved the truck the day before. As well, the right turn signal light was burned out. Thus, the 24/7 app doesn't work well if the location isn't leaving keys for the people who would like to pick up keys after hours.

We made an online reservation for a U$19.95 cargo van with appliance dolly for a 11:00 a.m. Saturday, 31 Oct 2020. Th U-Haul directions sent us to the Broad St, Falls Church site where we had rented a pick-up truck previously. The agent said we needed to go to another site, one that she hadn't ever heard of before to get the van. She didn't offer to call the agent at the unknown site to confirm that they had a van for us, so we drove across town to finally find it. I should not have to upload my drivers license. I also would think that you would not want that uploaded online that is a liability for u-haul -- remember, all systems get hacked, which puts our identiy info at risk.

When I went to pickup my trailer, it was pouring rain and there was a line going out the door since only 4 people were allowed in the store because of social distancing. I definitely understand that. But if that's the case, there needs to be a covered area for customers to wait so they don't get soaked on rainy days before a day of moving. Other than that, I was very happy with the service of the cashier and the guy who hooked up the trailer

The staff at this location were very helpful. I would recommend this location if it makes sense to the customer. I personally needed a location within walking distance in DC and did not select this location for pick up. I was very upset with the last minute change of pick up location, but that is not the fault of this location's staff.

I like this UHaul location because they are not another business trying to rent trucks/vans on the side. Their hours are better on the weekends. They have a good inventory of vehicles, but I had requested 2 furniture dollies in advance... and when I got there, they had none. They are fast and efficient on the check in and check out too!

All praises to the folks at this location. Very helpful, patient, friendly and efficient. I had rented a Uhaul that directed me to this location in error. Instead of this location redirecting me, Bill was able to assist me even though it was the other locations fault. Bill was able to to provide me with a vehicle. Ultimate positive customer service experience. Top notch. Thank you Bill and the gentleman next to him as well which I did not get his name. Might I add the gentleman next to him the day before had offered to provide me with a vehicle to accommodate me, however, I could not get someone to drive my vehicle. This location is awesome an Honors to both of these gentlemen.

We had a really hard time with the no contact rental. We had to input our information multiple times and it still took a long time to “get approval”. This should happen before we are trying to pick up the truck. Because of the difficult process we had to get support checking in. We hope you improve your system.

The trailer was not clean when picked up and it reeked of mildew. It also leaked a little. Finally, the rollers for the door were sticky and really loud. I had to lubricate them myself. The staff and facility were great, though.

Had spoken to two separate uhaul representatives on the phone prior to picking up truck and they mentioned car would be easy to remove by myself if needed from auto transport. Arrived at location and checked again with staff on site, was told that a u-haul employee would have to do at destination, and would not instruct on how to do.

There seems to be a truck distribution problem. We were able to rent the last 10 foot truck and no 15 or larger for one way. As we traveled we noticed many large trucks in out of the way places such as Ruckersville, Madison, and Waynesboro.

Great Customer service except I had an issue when I got to my moving destination, I could not get the back door open, it was pouring rain (10/25), I called 3 times, first time I was on hold 10 minutes, I hung up, called back, the lady said "hold" without even acknowledging me, I waited a while, hung up and called back and finally a man, Brian (I think) answered the phone. I told him my issue and he said well put some muscle in it, like I didn't try. I am a female in my 60's and it was wet! I didn't appreciate that I struggled, I was able to get some assistance from a neighbor and they struggled as well. When I returned the truck, the employee had a hard time getting the door open to check the vehicle in. From now on, I won't take a truck without someone checking the door.

I was supposed to get a utility dolly with my rental. I drove away in the truck and it wasn't in the back, I forgot to check before driving off. I called and was told I could send someone to pick up the utility dolly the next day (I don't own a car) and that for the inconvenience, the fee would be taken off my bill. My friend picked up the utility dolly the next day and two different employees said it would be taken off my bill. So I got my receipt and it was still on there. I called the number on the receipt and waited on hold for 20 minutes, only to be told to call a different number. The second hotline was able to assist me. I am still waiting on a receipt with the new confirmed total with the utility dolly fee removed. It's almost like you are making it as difficult as possible to get an accurate bill so that I will give up and eat the loss.

Staff on morning shift were very dismissive. Upon arrival was immediately berated by two different employees for not parking in the correct spot, even though the parking area is not clearly marked and I was just being dropped off. Was told to bring truck back with 1/4 of the tank filled but when I went out to the truck, the fuel level was on "E". When I inquired about this, I was told that it was my responsibility to fuel the truck. Did not receive instructions regarding the pick up process and only received a text with a link to the U-Haul website after I had already departed the lot. In general, the staff just seemed annoyed that I was there, which just made the whole experience frustrating. I get that there was probably a morning rush of people picking up and dropping off, but it doesn't take much to take a few extra minutes to explain the process to your customers and answer any questions. Employees need to be reminded that customer service should take priority over simply getting people out the door.

When I reserved the trailer I gave an address for where I was going to return the trailer. When the trailer was returned the location had been changed to a different location to accomodate a reservation for the trailer. This means that we were used as the company assistant to move equipment. NOT ACCEPTABLE! This was salt added to the previous wound of frustration!

The mobile check in process is useless. I had to wander around the parking lot looking for a van with a number, with no explanation of where to look on the vehicle. Then I still had to go inside to get the keys. Staff seemed annoyed that the van would probably be blocked in when I found it. The whole point is to not go inside... The van was dirty. There were crumbs on the seats and dirty finger prints all over... indicating that it hadn't been cleaned. I don't care if the outside is dirty, but expected more internal cleaning during COVID.

I am always frustrated renting from UHaul. You continue to get my business b/c I don't have an alternative. Your online reservations system is a mess: after 20 minutes of trying to load a photo of my license, I gave up. The in-person check-in is awkward, and invariably something goes wrong. I wanted a trailer, and have a factory-installed wiring harness, but not compatible with your trailer (%^&), and was given some story to force me to upgrade to a truck. Feels cynical. Took 45 minutes. Everyone angry, pissed off. I would be too if I worked for you! Truck advertised at $29 came in at $120 or so. Why do you have such a low opinion of your customers, and put your employees in such a bad situation? Ugh.

My first time renting a truck, I went to the location physical. I'm standing there infront of the employee, no acknowlement but when he finally decided to help me, i was told by that they were full and nothing available. So went home and when i checked their website and they did had trucks available so i had to drive AGAIN to that same location. I get there for the second time and no still acknowlement, so I had to ask another employee to assist me. The drop off was very easy with their website.

I was given no choice but to pick up from this location. This location is 20 miles from the pick-up location I selected when making the reservation. This added more than an hour to my move and 40+ miles to my usage. And, I was only alerted to the change the day before which limited my ability to adjust my plans. This was a terrible experience and I will go out of my way to avoid U-Haul in the future. The cab of the truck needed a wipe down. There was evidence on the seats where liquids had spilled and dried up.
