Firstly, this review system doesn't let me rate Uhaul as a company/service instead of the location. The location we went to was fine, but Uhaul as a company really dropped the ball here. We made a reservation for nearby & convenient UHaul 2 weeks before our moving date. The morning of, 45 minutes before the pick up time, Uhaul called us and said our truck was not there, and we would instead have to drive 30 minutes out of our way to pick up a truck. We did so, and waited another 30 minutes in the office because that location was overwhelmed with people, and then found out we wouldn't even be able to drop off our truck at our original location. Instead, we'd have to return our truck to the same location, which would add an additional 1.5 hours to our moving day. I called the Uhaul corporate line at the employees suggestion, and waited on hold for 5-10 minutes, before I was promptly hung up on without another word. No credit or discount for the gross inconvenience, just an extra 2.5 hours of the Uhaul experience. This 2nd location, to their credit, was very friendly and helpful and helped us transfer our reservation to this location (U-Haul of Falls Church), which, as it happens, is only 10 minutes away from our original pick up location and equally convenient to the original location. Are you serious? We then drove another 30 minutes back towards this 3rd location, where we finally picked up our truck without incident. By this point we were fully expecting the truck to be on blocks, without gas, or otherwise completely inoperable. Thankfully the actual truck worked fine, and this 3rd Uhaul location was also professional and without fault. Nice logistics planning, Uhaul. Really great. As if we didn't have a time table and full day ahead of us, let's just unnecessarily add an extra 2 hours of traveling and hassle. Oh, and we're not done. Because we were now 2 hours behind schedule, we realized towards the end of the day that we wouldn't be back before 7pm, so I called to ask if we'd be able to park the truck overnight in the lot. I was told I could in fact park the truck in the lot, but that I would need to come by in person by 11am the next day to do paperwork and to return the key, as there wasn't a 24/7 key drop off box. Fine. So after we finished, we parked the truck in the lot and went home for the night. I came back the next morning and I was then told I could have simply locked the keys in the truck, and that there was no paperwork to be done, and I was free to go. I'm just glad that instead of having to drive 30 minutes out-and-back to have that final quality Uhaul experience, I instead only had to waste a half hour on the morning after an exhausting move. Bravo, Uhaul. Bravo.

Give the customer help providing an accurate return facility! I called and went to two locations only to be turned away! The last location gave me the correct information. The call center, erroneously told me to return my interstate vehicle to a local facility! I will have to rethink the next time I rent a vehicle from U-Haul

I would have rated this location 5 stars, but I was not informed that the trailer that I rented had to be returned to the same location as it was rented. I had to take an extra 45 minutes out of my day to return it to a further away location.

The paperwork overstated the fuel level in the truck upon pick up and the beginning mileage was off. there were people hanging around in front of the store and are pressuring you to hire them as moving help.

The morning management are very helpful and courteous. The evening managers not so much. I had some conflict with the evening management About the return of equipment, in the morning due to rain the exterior and interior had mud splashed that where not recognized until returning, when we returned the vehicle after broom sweeping and cleaning out trash, the agent attempted to charge $25 for not having a clean return. The agent immediately made his assumption the useage was to “ make a run to the dump”. The agent basically threatened to charge $25 to spray out a patch of residew less than 10” in diameter that was visible between the seem of the floor mat in the back of the van, after going back and forth and I asked how do you want the vehicle cleaned, he regressed to say Merry Christmas, have a good day I’m not going to charge you. The evening agent also warned of using the type of vehicle and suggested using a pick up truck that is easier to clean. NOT IMPRESSED WITH THE RETURN MANAGEMENT.

Give a truck that works. Immediately when we opened up the back door to the storage area of the truck it wouldn't come back down. Thank God I had a ratchet strap to tie down the stuff or else we would have been in trouble.

William was an absolute life saver!! We had trouble backing up the trailer and he was so helpful to take care of that for us. He was efficient, professional and so, so kind to go above and beyond to help us at the end of a very long journey. We cannot sing his praise enough!!

Charged for matress pads didn't get. Called right away to let know that they didn't give to me, and already on the road. She said would correct right away. She didn't. When I returned, van, charge was still on there. Eventually removed but not before extra stress on my end. Van was really nice. I like the man who checked out the vehicle.

I called that location the previous day to change my drop off location DC. They did it no problem, but when I arrived at the location on South Capitol I was told that I would occur a fine for returning the truck there. That was never communicated to me throughout the reservation process and I was frustrated to learn of that.

Nothing to add to perfection. I've rented there several times this yr. and I have been treated with the nicest and polite people inside the store and the outside help. Thanks and keep up the good work. I am very very much satisfied with the staff. And the store and don't forget the vehicles always clean and in good shape. ??

What I was ultimately charged, via the U-Haul app, was $5 more than it should have been. No one called me to resolve this, despite my entering this information in the app, which indicated I would get a call within 48 hours. I'm still waiting for resolution. Otherwise it was a good experience. Clean van, friendly service.

Rudest staff ever. From the minute we walked in. Horrible attitudes. Made a reservation on line to pick up truck at 2. Came earlier and was toms. Toning available even though the entire lot of full of tricks. Went outside and called the 800 number and was gice. Another rental with immediate pick up time. Walked Back in and was given the same negative attitude.. a customer should not have to go through this to want to pick up a truck earlier or for any rental. Not only horrible customer service, we had to pay my to be treated thst way. Won’t bw Back.
