Sunday morning, Mike opened after 9am and he was alone, there were 20 people waiting at the door. He was rude and grumbled at people, he was out numbered and overworked. I went online, reserved a truck, got a confirmation, tried to pick up my truck online but the system couldn't recognize my location. 3 other customers had the same problem. 2 customers successfully "Picked up" online, but still had to wait for Mike to finish with a customer to get their keys. People were yelling at each other. Another associate showed up at 930, another at 945. I stood in line for an hour to pick up a vehicle, the folks behind me in line had another 30 or 40 minutes left to wait. Outrageous

they called me the day after I dropped off the vehicle to find out when I planned to return it. When I dropped it off the girl behind the counter just told me to leave the key and it would be logged in. This caused me some concern, but it all came out ok.

it’s just poor service all together, they dont have my truck, they were sending me to oakland, no apologies, truck runs horrible, took 40 mins just to return and he didn’t even say we didn’t have to wait for a receipt. Should’ve listen to her friends who had horrible experience as well.

The waits for pick up and return are too long in my opinion. The employees are friendly and courteous, but they need to step up the tempo. People are trying to get on their way because moving takes a long time and when you get back, you are tired and just want to get out of there so to wait 20 minutes to return the truck is way too long.

Get your online reservations and location reservations in sync. Had an online reservation to pick up a 20' truck at an Oakland facility and a couple of hours after the reservation was confirmed I received a call that the location and truck size was not available.

Trailer couldn’t be removed from my hitch over night. Then. I dropped off my trailer next morning and U-Haul called me for two days asking when I was going to return my trailer. Horrible management. The Uhaul truck was not maintained or clean. The following items were in need of repair drivers door was real hard closing (sometimes it would not close all the way and latch), main loading rollup door rubber seal was badly torn, the main loading rollup door stuck in the up location. The front right tire was really low on air and I had to drive back to the office to get it filled up. The office personnel were not friendly or supportive when I had the low air pressure problem. I have rented many times from Uhaul and this was the worst experience I have had. Bad people interface and bad equipment.

Do try to charge a customer for two days when we only had it for 24 hours and explain the reasoning to be that we had a estimated time before the 24 hours and did not make it even though we still made it before the 24 hours just not the estimated time.

Terrible service. When I got there one person was sleeping at the counter and other was on their phone. As well as this was given a caravan that has a broken indicator light and check engine and oil light on told the person about the issue and was told I wasn’t getting a different caravan. After all this when I went to return it I get a call two days later asking if I was going to return the van even though I returned it. Asked to speak to a manager and got no response at the location and on the phone. Worst experience I have ever had

The Customer Service was terrible. I went in before two days before I was to pick my truck up. Thank God I did they had me booked for the wrong truck. It was a older guy assisting me he had a terrible attitude, he didn't even want to get up and walk outside with me to see the truck. On Sat July 6, 2019 I went to pickup the truck it was so dirty it had cob webs on it. The inside n outside was filthy. They didn't even offer to clean it. It was two younger guys working on that day. The guy that assisted me was rubbing his eyes and hearing right in my face. When we seen how dirty the truck was. It was the other young guy out there pulling someone else's truck around. I went and ask him why was the truck they gave me so dirty. He apologized and said he would put in my notes when I come back how dirty the truck was and he would compensate me something. I thanked him and left. When we came back both guys were gone. It was three young ladies there watch was very loud and rude and one of them even walked passed me cursing. Very unprofessional. The young lady that was assisting me I was explaining to her about the truck and she started talking loud to me and telling me they wasn't going to compensate me nothing. I told her what exactly what that young man told me earlier. She then called him on the phone and he lied and told her he didn't say that, but the truck was dirty. As me and this young women was walking out to the truck she kept yelling, she was not going to compensate me nothing. Then she proceeded to tell me to get out of her face and I told her I wasn't in her face and to don't speak to me in that manner because I'm old enough for her GRANDMOTHER, I then told her I have a daughter older then her at that point my daughter heard her talking to me in such a disrespectful tone she came over there and asked her what was her problem and what's the problem then she toned all the way down and wanted to apologise. I've been going to this same U-HAUL since 1994 and I never seen so many unprofessional people like this Crew. They are awful and I wouldn't recommend a DOG to go to this U-HAUL. There Customer Service is terrible. The trucks are Filthy, Whom ever hired them should be a shame of themselves. To improve the Service there you should consider getting rid of all of them. Are let me come and train them and show them how to treat their Customer's. You guys should be a shame of yourselves for hiring them. There horrible

I reserved the trailer 10 days in advance at the uhaul in my home town. 1 day before the pick up day I received a text telling me I have to pick up the trailer in a town 45 minutes away. No one mentioned this is common uhaul practice when I made the reservation.

I had the worst customer service with Uhaul and will not only never use your company again I plan to share on all social media platforms how bad the service was and why others should not use Uhaul. Starting with my family and friends I'll deter as much business from Uhaul as possible. If you treat your customers poorly they will not return.

I was actually rescheduled to here after my reservation was unable to be fulfilled at the original location. The first location was absolutely abysmal, while Hayward was just barely ok. I would not choose to return to either.

I was never called and I showed up to find out they dont have my truck. Ended up paying more in mileage and gas got a big truck that I then fell out of loading and suffered injuries, including fracturing my toe, that would not have happened if I had the truck I ordered. There is a $50 reservation guarantee for a reason and you would think that would get these employees to plan better and actually inform customers IN ADVANCE if they do not have their vehicle. They had a truck there but for some reason I wasnt allowed to take it. I am expecting that reservation reimbursement

Truck was out of gas and left on the road. Had to walk to gas station and buy a tank to put gas in and carry gasoline back to truck. Associate was not helpful at all and we ended up paying for gasoline plus pay for rental. Bad service.

The first day we got the van it was dusty and had what looked like dead maggots on the dashboard. When we returned the truck we accidentally left our house keys in the truck attached to the key. The person already turned the vehicle over and didn't even check that the keys didn't have any other keys. They also only contacted one point of contact. We were asked to provide three numbers yet this other customer only was provided one number. Was it because we were younger compared to this other customer? Regardless we had to change all of our locks due to the ineptitude of the Hayward uhaul staff. Ridiculous.

The young gentleman who assisted us did not really want to be there. He put the hitch on with the pin and he must of did it wrong because it came off while we were driving. Luckily we had an extra pin to use and my husband was able to steer the trailer to safety and then put it back in place . We are truly blessed.

I had a huge issue with the service that I received. I was given an empty truck and ran out of gas in the middle of Hayward on a very busy street. The street sign said no parking anytime so I was literally stranded and not know what to do. I ran around looking for gas and finally found AutoZone where I could find and buy a gas container. I had to go to the gas station multiple times because the gas container was only 2 gallons and I need about 5 gallons to start the vehicle. This took one and a half hours total of my time plus $20 for the gas container. When I made my complaint I was told to call The manager directly which I did multiple times. The manager never responded to me and never called me back. I still would like to get reimbursed because I do not think it is fair for what I have to go through and especially that nobody’s calling me back and nobody cares. I feel like the customer service that I’m currently receiving is at an all time low. Mirza

There was a very long line. I waited 1.5 hours, even though I had made a reservation. I did both, online check-in and a called them directly, days prior and still they said 'everyone has to wait whether they have a reservation or not'. The gentleman at the desk (Mike) was kind and helpful, clearly not his fault. He allowed me to leave, pack, then come back for the auto transport I had reserved. Upon my return, I still had to wait another 45 minutes to get the guys in the lot to help. After the wait, a young man (very early 20s) connected the uhaul truck to the transport and walked away. I called out to him and said "what now"? He said I was free to drive off. I told him that I had the vehicle I was going to transport with me and asked if he could instruct me on how to get it on the transport. He proceeded to guide me as I drove it on. Mind you, he did not know how to pull out the loading ramps from the transport. He had to get help from some of the other employees. If he did not know hot to pull out the ramps and actually works there, how was I supposed to know what to do had I driven off to load up the car at a different location?!?!? Then after I drove the car on to the transport, he again proceeded to walk away. I had to call out to him again. He then said I was good to go, to which I responded "how about tying this car down?" He responded that most people handled that on their own. I told him I needed help because it was the first time I'd done this and had not idea how to secure the vehicle to the transport. He helped me strap down the vehicle and again said I was good to go. I then took a walk around the vehicle to ensure everything looked good. I noticed these chains underneath the transport. I turned to ask what I should to with those, but he he was gone. He had walked off yet again. I had to go find him again and asked him about the chains. He said they were safety chains that had to be secured to the chassis of the mounted vehicle. The whole time I am thinking "what the hell; I guess no one around here cares what happens when you drive off, so long as it does not happen on the premises?" I did not expect the young man to strap the vehicle down or attach the safety chains for me... I am able bodied with two hands so I can take care of that myself. But I would expect the personnel to at least ask a customer whether or not they were familiar with the equipment they were renting and whether they had any questions. I guess my expectations are too high?

I was given an appliance dolly that I could not use because it was too big and too heavy for me. I requested a box dolly, a smaller one. This was a headache for me because it was huge and took up room in the van. My friend and I struggled to get it out. It was a monster! It was not what I had requested.

I rushed to get to this location by 7 when then closed. At about 6:50 I was told they closed early because the system was down. So I guess time and advertising times such as we close at 7pm on the door, means nothing to U-Haul workers.

My name is edmundo Mendoza, I rented a uhual 10ft truck and when I first got there , the host had a bad day or a attitude. Found out my gas was low and the paper said all most full ,had to go back in and tell the manager its empty. Wen to a gas station and filled my truck up and found out the truck fuel line hose was cut. Called uhual location to see if there can do a swap because I was stranded and never followed up on me. Had to call road side asistannce and gave me a 2hour window which actually came 2hours and 10mins. Waiting for a reimbursement from uhual and still havent received and pay for my gas. Had to tell my boss I'm stuck and couldnt do nothing about it because uhual service sucked.

Checked in online to avoid a long wait time but ended up waiting for 45 minutes for my truck. I ordered 2 furniture dollies but was told they didn’t have any 15 minutes after receiving the paper contract. The representative then went to bring my truck around but realized it didn’t have any gas. She literally offered me about four different trucks and then had to take them back because she said there were no gas in all of them. And all with no sense of urgency. There were about six or seven people waiting in line behind me and no one else there to help them. They seem very dis-organized and careless at this location. I would give zero stars if I could

This is second time rent the truck from this location, I was booking Tennyson Rd. Location online somehow they switch to Jackson location, I was confirmed 24 hrs Rental from Friday 4:30pm, on Friday morning someone call me about cutting short rental to 12:45 pm on Saturday while I was on the other line, I’m informed him I’ll call back without agree the time cut short. I call back I can speak no one who called. I have no choice but kept appointment because there was no time for me modifying any schedule. When I pick up the truck in store the front desk person was not well informed and kept me waiting.

I was over charged the for the 2 gallons gas fuel $10.45, I email the store manager explain I was filled up who tank until it can not be filled and show the receipt the time and location near the returning store less than 1 mile range, I never get response from the GM of store ether email or phone call. I do not recommend this store customer service experience than I used to be in other store location in past U-Haut rental service, after this rental I check the your U-Haut website ratings for this store is below average than others location nearby in Hayward area.

The auto transport I rented was poorly maintained, evidence when the rear axel came loose and jammed the tire into the fender. Luckily we were off the freeway and didn't have a car on the trailer. I had to drag the trailer off the road with my truck.

This was the second U-haul we visited on that day, as the online and the employee that called to confirm the reservation never made me aware that having no drop off location but going out of city changed the rates and availability of your services. The first store in Campbell, CA had to transfer my reservation to this location in order for us to use your services because no on was listening. Very frustrating.

Very Dirty Truck. I called for an earlier pick up and was told no and when I arrived there were 8 other trucks in lot ??? Uhaul is falling apart This is twice in a row for a bad experience with Uhaul. I could fix your company if you like. P

I had to wait 45 minutes to get the truck even though I had done early check in. It means nothing when there is a line of people. At opening time on Sunday there were only 2 employees. The tank of gas was only 3/16 and although I got a credit for gas it was still not right because I was only going 20 miles and was afraid i’d Run out of gas before I got to a station.

I believe I was charged more than I was supposed to and the manager didnt help but confused me more. I rented the truck for 19.99 paid insurance of 10 which is 3p dollars all together. When they asked me for an estimated mile, I said 11miles based on my previous calculations. They charged me for 11 miles which came up to be 42 dollars all together with the uhaul rental and the insurance. When I dropped the uhual they said I went 99 miles which they charged another 76.30 for. So my question was why cant I get back the 11 dollars estimated mile i paid for before o took the truck since they already just charged me for the whole mile i used which was the 99 mile they said. The manager kept confusing me and said I get nothing back. They charged me a total of 118 dollars in less than 24 hrs. I was only picking up a couch from 106 Solano St. Brisbane Ca 94405. Please you guys need to look into this matter and get new back my due refunds. Thanks

Bad reservation system, making a reservation doesn't matter, when i went to pick up the trailer they did not have the size i reserved so i had to take a smaller one which did not fit all my belongings. If i would have known this earlier in the day i would have went to home depot. Not only did i have a reservation, but the location called me the day before to confirm the reservation and time for pick up.I will never use uhaul again. When we dropped off the trailer there was a lady in the lobby complaining about the same thing. Not acceptable
