This is the second time I've used U-Haul of Huntington Hills. I find their rates to be reasonable, their reservation system simple, the equipment (small box truck and van) that I rented were both clean and ran well, and they make returning the equipment much easier than other places I've used. I would definitely recommend them to friends and family.Theresa F.

I ordered a van. I was put into a truck I did not want. I was charged double what my quote was online plus $85 in gas for a vehicle that was less fuel efficient than the one I wanted. Left it a quarter of a tank higher than what I got it and there's no compensation, but if it was a couple of gallons lower I would've been charged a premium for that couple of gallons. There was no staff available when I returned the vehicle. I had to leave for my daughter's track meet but was unable to check the vehicle in when I returned it.Ainslie M.
The trailer type name should be the actual dimensions of the trailer. A 4' x 7' Utility trailer should be at a minimum 48" x 84" interior dimensions, not 40" x 92". I don't know in what world an item that is 42" x 72" won't fit in 4' x 7' . Apparently that's the world the U-Haul marketing team lives in though. Why not just call it a "Small Utility Trailer", then customers will know to look at the specs to get the actual dimensions. So stupid.Alexander L.

We are in the middle of moving from a huge house into two smaller ones, and the south college location has supplied us with many boxes, tape, trucks (3 rentals) in 3 weeks and I have to say its not flashy but the staff, employees and crew have helped me out each time with a smile, walking boxes out to my car...filling our orders and easy check in and drop offs I had no idea how great this service is and really appreciated your guys help.Chris G.

Very slow customer service. Nobody available to greet me for nearly 20 minutes. I had to walk around the property and found the only employee out back talking to friends. Upon returning the vehicle, the computer information was totally wrong for mileage and gas level and it took the employee 30 minutes to correct it.John P.

You all call us evening before to tell us we must travel about an hour to pick up uhaul in Fort, when we saw the 20 foot truck on Lafayette where we asked to pick it up, as we were driving to Fort. I had a 26' truck and auto hauler. As soon as we got to town, I stopped by this location, after calling ahead to ensure I could do so & was told wouldn't be an issue. When I did, I pulled to the back lot to unload, lined up the auto hauler with other trailers to ensure it was where it was needed & got out to ask staff if this was okay. I was met by a younger kid who was more open to telling me how hot it was and how he would prefer to be getting high rather than giving clear instruction as to if this spot would be appropriate to unload or not. After a few minutes of back and forth, he finally told me I needed to drive around the building and park the trailer on the opposite side of another trailer (not facing the same direction, yet still in this line) and that would be â€œacceptableâ€. The entire reason why I came in the way I came in was to avoid reversing this trailer as much as possible as I am not skilled in this area. Once we did what was asked, the young man walked over again complaining of the heat and the day and asked if I needed help unloading. To which I replied, that would be nice. He then sat there, on another auto hauler, and watched as my brother in law and I unloaded my Jeep. Mind you, he was quick to tell me what I was doing wrong, after the fact, causing more frustration and delay in getting this Jeep unloaded and trailer off the back of my uhaul so I could go home and unload that AFTER a 16+ hour drive to the area. If you can hear the frustration through the text as you read this, it's because it's there. I purposely waited until after hours to return my truck due to this issue as it's easier to return through the link I was sent to check-in online. @uhaul about that customer rewards program, A) start that. B) think about issues like this and do something to give back to customers who have such horrendous experiences with you staff who seem to hate their job and lack any kind of empathy to all that goes into a long cross state move. The staff here are great but someone should have called me to let me know there was a change after I had confirmed over the phone at 1:30 pm the day before pick up. We drove 2 hours to get a truck only to be told there was none available. The staff here were awesome and got us the truck but not until 11 am. Pick up was suppose to be at 9Anne G.

it's an old truck. not much you can do about that. what i am most frustrated with is the booking process. i want to book w/the local agent NOT a call center. way too much brain damage booking w/your call center. fix that and i can rate you better next time. that is unless i choose to book w/penske! I rented a cargo trailer from this location. First off I was given the wrong trailer. Apparently I was given the one way trailer, not the in town trailer and had to turn around and come back to get the proper one, wasting 30 minutes of my time and putting me behind schedule. I told them I was dropping off after hours and was given minimal instruction on how to unhook the trailer, I was told just "just unscrew the knob". The trailer was very tight on the ball of my hitch and the piece that unscrews to loosen the trailer was not cooperating. In addition to it being tight and heavy there is no trailer jack so it has to be done by hand, therefore I could not get the trailer off by myself so I had to take it home and return it the next morning, again wasting probably 1,5 hours of my time all together. When I pulled up to drop off where is said "equipment drop off" I was told I needed to back the trailer up into the spot I had gotten it out of, I said I was already late for work and not good at backing up a trailer and didn't have time to do that and was met with extreme attitude. She said I had to because they didn't have a way to out them back. I asked how the put the trailers back when they are dropped off after hours and she said rudely " I don't know I don't open" I said where there as to be a way to put them back and she said "well we have to hook it up to one of our trucks and put them back ourselves" I said okay well do that because I have to leave for work. She then went and got a tool of some sort to take the trailer off my truck. At this point I am upset by this whole experience so even though I was late for work I decided to go in and talk to the manager and was met with indifference. I told him about getting the wrong trailer to begin with and he said while looking at my account " I don't see where you were given the wrong trailer" and then I was explaining how I couldn't get the trailer off was told "they are not meant to come off once they are on" so I asked then why do you let people drop them off after hours and expect them to get them off when alone and he said "you just lift it off, it's only like 300 lbs, how did she get it off (the rude employee I had already encountered) didn't she just lifted it off?" I said she used a tool, it was a long thing with wheels that provided leverage to get it off and he didn't have anything to say to that. I asked why there isn't a jack on the trailer and he said for "insurance purposes" and then was asked "so what it is you want from us" It is very obvious these people do not care about customer service and UHAUL does not care about the safety of their customers by having old rusted trailers with no jack. I will never return to this location again and may never rent from UHAUL again.Leanne M.

There were 3 staff members at the counter when we arrived. Not one greeted us upon arrival, one just said "what do you need". When they brought the moving blankets out to me, they just dropped them off on the floor at my feet, didn't offer to put them in the truck for me, and didn't even walk me outside to show me the truck I rented. They simply said, "the truck is around the corner, the vehicle number is on the top". It wasn't difficult to find the right truck but that's beside the point. I also bought a large TV box and they never brought it up front to me. I had forgot about it during the self-service process and realized it was left behind once I got home. I reserved the truck in one town and had to go to another to pick it up because U-Haul doesn't guarantee rentals, its merely a request, which I was unaware of until the day before picking up. I had rented 2- 26ft trucks with over a month's advance notice and only one was available the day of moving. I need to make another trip across country to pick up the rest of our stuff again in a couple weeks.BRANDI M.

Sam was a huge help!!! We had an incident leaving the parking lot (long story short, my mom opted to drive the truck and ended up side swiping another one) and the staff was so helpful and remained calm, cool, and collected and assured us it was not a big deal. They were so helpful in securing us another (smaller) truck, and sent us on our way. I cannot thank them enough for their professionalism and caring! Also, always get the insurance! Great U-Haul store. Only issue is they park the trucks so close together they overlap the mirrors so you have close the mirror to get your U-Haul out which isn't too big of a deal but I could see somebody breaking a mirror off if they're not paying attention and you can't see what's behind you when backing up.Ryan C.

I think the evaluation of the amount of fuel that was in the U-Haul, did not reflect a true amount and charge me 10 extra dollars. You also charged 120 some dollars for some insurance that I never requested.BernardRoy B.
Your app, and the communications prior to pickup are substandard and let me annoyed. I tried to fill out the online forms before going to the UHaul location but could not because your location tracking showed i was not there. When I tried again online at the location, I was asked for secondary information I didn't have with me â€" a passport, two people who could identify me, etc. â€" because I wasn't asked to bring this info. So now I'm calling family at 8 am asking them to vouch for me with UHaul. After all that, the app still failed to process my info. I had to go into the office and do it all again with the office team. I'm in a Covid risk category and try to avoid unnecessary contact. The office staff was very helpful. Your app gives me pause about using you in the future.Stephen C.

No explanation as to why i had to drive that far when i made my reservation over a month ago. Was charged for things that were not needed. $25 for sweeping out the truck when I used my leaf blower to clean it out and there was absolutely NO DEBRIS to sweep out. The fact someone went in and swept it "just because it is policy" is just a way to add $25 profit. Also, the truck was filled up and to charge 2,5 gallons is theft. This dealer screwed me over and will never have that opportunity again. I will rent from Ryder from now on.Phil S.
Upon mobile check-in I could not upload photos as the app was not working. However it took the staff some time to figure out what other options I had to actually be able to leave with my truck. Then upon drop off, I physically went inside to check out and by the end of the day, my truck was still showing dispatched and had to call customer service as the location was unreachable. I finally got a receipt showing my drop off the next morning. A very painful experience that should not be this difficult.Rory A.

Got a call early in the morning telling me no 20 ft U-Haul were available and had to go to this location for a 15 ft . Got to this location 50 miles away from my reservation location for them to tell me I don't have a reservation and no trucks are available , called back the number they called me from to tell me that now I have a truck . This was the Worst experience ever . We reserved a 20 ft for the day I was moving to another state and recieved 15 ft . I had to throw away some of my stuff . Not impressed .
