Fill the tank with gas, and require that it be full when returned. Whole lot easier than reading a chart to find out where the needle was, how much it went down, and how many gallons you need to put in the vehicle to bring the fuel level back to where it was. Stupid procedure!

Rear door would not open bcuz they spray painted some sort of epoxy underneath. Right headlight burned out. Staff was rude and completely useless when we called them to assist in opening truck door. Finally used crow bar. Seems like a truck rental place would make sure the sliding door works before renting. Requested to speak to manager more than once. Employee refused. Manager needs to grow a spine. Don’t hide behind your young employees. I felt bad for the girls answering the phone. Terrible leadership. Stay clear of this place. Use Clark’s Travel center INDIO for U-haul rental.

The U-Haul Associate, after knowing I was picking up a tow dolly to be a one way to Mesa, AZ quoted me $60 instead add of the $188 I was rolls would be charged when I arrived at the location. I'd you record all your phone calls, as you say, finds that one. I was disappointed with the verbal quote being made over the phone, but being charged 150% more when I arrived in Indio. WTF?

I signed up for express service and they had everything ready when I went to pick up the enclosed trailer. The serviceman hooked everything right away and did a safety check to make sure the turn signals, etc. were working properly. Then I was on my way. Improve? Can't improve on excellence.

I was actually 15 miles away at U Haul Cathedral City. One Clerk/10 people in line. So I drove back to Indio Uhaul where I had rented before. I was on the road with the rental truck in 10 minutes/ Perfect!!!!

I used the 24/7 pickup option which I thought was going to be more convenient. After I picked the truck up and drove over an hour to load it, I couldn't open the door because there was a combination lock on it. Then I had to wait an hour for a locksmith to come and break the lock and had to pay movers an hour to sit around waiting. Ended up giving away a half a tank of gas because when I picked it up it was completely empty.

I showed up and my paperwork said the vehicle had 3/4 of a tank of gas. When they pulled it up, it was actually empty so I had to go and immediately fill it since I could only go 43 miles. They claim it was due to local homeless people siphoning the gas out of the tank. i will try Enterprise rentals next time.

Daughters wedding we rented a moving van for our food. Over charged a day with no notice on a return time. 3 full days and 2 half days make 4 full days and they charged us 5 days . There only answer was oh well... Oh well can’t wait to tell everyone how you ripped us off

Our experience was great, but I really felt bad for the young lady who was checking us out as she was handling three contracts on three computers at the same time. It would be great to give her some help. She was amazing BTW and we very much appreciated that she was trying to help all of us by herself.

I completed the online check-in, but the desk agent asked all of the same questions I answered online, so it seemed pointless. It took me over 25 minutes to simply pickup a trailer. When I was loading the trailer, I discovered a broken weld in the side rail, so I feel the equipment should be better inspected before sending it out with customers.

Staff not friendly, goofing around, I was a bother. One side of the trailers running lights did not work including rear left side lights out. I took it anyway because your first place for me did not have a trailer and you sent me to this second place and it was the only one they had. Note, this place was excellent in December when I rented two times! Different employees then though.

1.- the lady at the counter was not friendly at all. I registered my driver license and CC before my visit and she did not know. She asked me for information I had already entered in the system. 2 The van was really dirty and had low air in the rear tire. The lady brought the van got out and said nothing. She just went on to help someone else.3 I drove the van with that warning the whole time. I have gotten great service and clean vans at this location before. This time I was very disappointed. bad service and dirty equipment with driving warnings.

Tried the on-line check in. Got a confirmation at a different location. Arrived there and the email said I was at the wrong location. Asked the guy at TNT Delivers why I was now at the wrong place and he wasn’t sure. But he was great and worked hard to try and allow me to rent at my confirmed location. He was unsuccessful and I drove to Indio Uhaul. They didn’t know why my location was changed and I wasn’t noticed on the location change. I was now frustrated by this whole process and was just going to check in the old fashion way but the lady told me that u might get double charged so back to trying the online thing again. It took four tries to get things right . For all the times I have rented U-Haul equipment, this was by far the worst experience I have had. I will not use the online process again as having a confirmed rental at TNT, driving there and the online stayed that I was at the wrong location, not ever receiving a change of rental location, neither location knowing why and instead of just walking up the Indio counter and picking a truck I had to continue to do this online dance. The only reason I didn’t trash the rating for the survey, was that I have rented or returned trucks to both locations and they have both were good. It’s the online process that I was very unhappy with.

10 days prior to my departure I reserved a 5x8 tlr. One day prior to my departure I received an email saying the 5X8 would be ready the next day. The next AM I went to pick up the 5x8. They told me they operate on a first serve basis & the 5X8 was gone. All they had close was a 4x8. Since I was on a tight schedule i had to take it but was not adequate for my needs & had to abandon valuable property.

This location appears to be severely understaffed based on customer volume. It took over an hour in line with the one employee working. I reserved weeks in advance. I reserved a furniture and utility dolly and was assured they were on the truck. When I got home realized the dolly's were not on the truck. Had to return back to pick up dolly's.

We picked up on a Sunday and it was very busy and quite chaotic. Not sure if the staff were new but there was a great deal of confusion over the online reservation system. More training maybe needed. We also had ordered moving blankets for rent and it was not until after we got the truck back for packing we realized they were missing. When we called back in to explain it was taken care of quite nicely.

The location is fine, but again, not enough help. I pulled in to return, nobody was manning the return area, finally found a guy to unhook the trailer and I was on my way. It is pretty obvious that Uhaul staffing levels and or dedication to customer service is not up to par. The equipment is great, best trailers around, and the facilities are nice enough. Just need to have sufficient staff and get the IT problems fixed.

I would like review my rental last week of a uhaul truck. I rented this 26 ft uhaul on Varner rd. Palm desert ca. The computers were down so I did not get any paperwork with the rental. There was no mention of refilling the gas tank and so I just assumed that I should top it off. That’s what I always have done but after $90 had rung up in the gas pump I knew something was not right I come to find out later that the paperwork I didn’t get was marked indicating how much gas was needed So I lost about $40 there. While transporting the furniture the truck blew a water hose and started overheating. I immediately pulled over in the freeway to save the engine but it was a very dangerous place I broke down at with cars zooming by so close for two hours before.uhaul repairmAn showed up to fix the truck. So when I finished the move may helpers asked me to pay them $200 extra for their inconvenience. So when I returned the truck the desk clerk st the drop off uhaul point said I should call U-Haul go and they would give me a discount voucher that I could use on my next U-Haul outing. So I called and uhaul told me that they would get back to me the next day and compensate me for my troubles. Well no one called and it’s been a week I been waiting but no reply. So what now? Do I have to keep calling or will someone maybe read this letter and do the right thing. I don’t know!!

Gave me the wrong equipment and phone was put down on a number of occasions when I called to rectify the issue. I was made to use this location for a specific vehicle. Never again. The palm desert location is awesome. I’ll go there and rent a different size vehicle if it means not returning to the Indio location.

Your “call center” knows nothing. I took my car in for a hitch at 7am. Was told it would take 2 to 3 hrs and I would be called when it’s done. By 11:30 I called only to get the call center and told by them my car would be ready by 7pm. I asked to have someone call me back. By 2:30 nothing so went to get my car ( hitch or not) and it had a hitch on it.... I paid and left upset. No one from the faculty called me back or even called me when it was done.. your staff need to work on getting it together.
