The Mountain View location was great. I first was scheduled to go to the Santa Clara location and I had a very bad experience there. There was no truck assigned even though I had reserved, paid and did an on line check in since I was moving to a new house. The gentleman casually told me there is no truck and there isn't anything he can do. He also tells me, â€œgo ahead and call themâ€. I was so confused who to call where I was already at the u-haul store!! Shouldn't be the one calling and find out what happened? I told him this is going to create a problem for me as I have movers waiting in my house. He looked at me and just changed his seat to the next cashiers. I was shocked. I left and called the number on my reservation and got routed to Mountain View. Mountain View location was great. Helpful and organized. But this delayed my move for 2 hours and I had to pay 3 movers extra $$ only cause uhaul really ruined it for me. Santa Clara location was in fact a joke. Rude staff, and this probably would be the last time I am using uhaul. Everyone told me to go to Pensky, I didn't listen. What a mistake.Laleh B.

The truck had pet hair all over the seat when I got in. Also, when I went to drop the truck off, there were a bunch of people waiting to drop off their trucks and nobody in site inside the store or out for a good 30minKANG M.
They just need to hire more employees. The two guys working there were fine but there is no way they can keep up with volume. There was a long wait picking up and an even longer wait dropping off. Corporate needs to hire more help.Gregory S.
The pickup experience was excellent and the vehicle was clean and ready. At drop off an older man at the desk told me to go use the website on the side of the van for return in a very rude manner. It was 30 minutes before close so maybe he wasn't happy to be getting vehicles. The mobile app sounds like a great idea but leaves the customer doing all the check-in work.Brian R.

The location is clean, well maintained, and has sufficient product, but is clearly understaffed. When I showed up, there was no one at the desk. I waited 10 minutes, wandered around the lot, and found someone to tell them there were people waiting. Another 5 minutes later, someone showed up. He was very helpful once he was there -- my sense is he's a good employee who just has too many things to juggle.Jeffrey H.

I spent 3,25 hours trying to rent the trailer. first i booked online, then U Haul called me two days later that it was not available locally in Fremont CA area. I had to go to mountain View location, the lady appeared to be a manager was extremely rude, waited several hoursdavid N.

The people there -- and especially your female employee there -- are great. In fact they are fantastic. The only problem is that the location is severely understaffed, so sometimes wait times are long. The employees are efficient, but managing the lot, the store, the garage for hitch installations, etc, when they are sometimes alone, is too much.Luca D.

Arrived around 430, worker was walking around looking lost/ stressed. Every time someone asked a question he sighed and said god damnit. Surely better training is required he did not seem to want to be there, other than that everything else was ok.BRIAN G.
I understand why the hand truck is in there but it did get in our way loading. But I loved the on-line check-in since it really worked on both ends. The guy moving trucks around on Memorial Day was very busy and incredibly helpfull with filling out the check in mileage form.JULIA N.

Cabin smelt like smoke. Dolly wasn't secured causing the band to snap and charging me a rental even when we couldn't even use it .The key drop off doesn't match what was instructed from online. People are not personal and have an attitude problem. I really hope this isn't a corporate office because this doesn't reflect the name u-haul most have come to love.Justin L.

All the process was extremely slow, the cargo van provided was not the advertised in the website. This was important since I had measuref the sized of my items. I was confronted by stuff for wanting the advertised van. The return process was a messed. Nobody provided instructions, there was nobody to attend us and we had to do everything online with no heads up. There was just nobody there to help.Jorge S.

The mobile pickup experience was slow and poor. The Odometer has the wrong number and almost lead to an incorrect credit card charge of 300 $.KEN C.

My appointment was at 7Am and when I got there, it was still closed and started taking customers at 7:10 AM as the store opened at 7:05 AM. The male employee still needed to bring the marketing materials outside. There was no apology or direction on what to do. They were more focused on tasking than customer service overall. When I returned the vehicle there were some ahead of me and more at my back. There was no clear direction on what to do. either, I needed to find assistance and the female employee inside said that I should be just leaving the key at the vehicle, someone was there. Maybe next time, I will lessen the employee's interaction by using the mobile check-in and pick up as well as the mobile return of the vehicle, maybe I should be finding it friendlier and more efficient. The wipers and the mirrors were dirty when I picked up the vehicle.Teodoro A.

The uhaul app did not work well with my phone for check in or drop off. The app never let me take a photo of my DL, so the staff member kindly did that for me. The app said I would receive a receipt after check in but I never did. I did get this survey, but not the receipt.James A.

The guy I dealt with in Mountain View was awesome, very hard worker. It seemed like he needed more support, folks had to wait while he attended to each one in turn. I did not like that the Sunnyvale location moved my reservation an hour before pickup. Why would they do that if they had the 6x12 trailer in stock?J W.

No need for improvements. But I wanted to say Frank was the most helpful staff I've been lucky to work with. This is the first time I've used U-hauls services and he made the process of pick up and return extremely easy. I actually ended up having to rent a uhaul 5/7 and 5/8 and he worked both days and gave me great guidance on how to do the return through my phone and where to return the keys after hours. I'm very grateful for all of his help! Moving is such a stressful ordeal, but he made this part of it extremely easy and seamless. Thank you so much!! He deserves a raise!!Michelle W.
