Montgomery T.I was over charged for the check in process after hours. We did the check off process and was still charged 20 dollars
CRYSTAL MARIE M.When I arrived,I spoke with a helpful employee and was given everything I needed. I informed him I wished to pay in cash and was told if I return it anytime before 7:00 pm (closing) I can. I arrived at 5:30 and sat outside at the drop off area for 5 mins before having to go inside and ask for assistance. I was told “just leave the keys in the truck†I waited at the drop off for another 10 mins hoping someone would come as I was apprehensive of leaving the car running un attended. Eventually I realized no one was coming and informed the employee inside I would like to pay with cash as I was previously told I could do before closing. He informed me there was no manager so it's not possible. It seemed unprofessional there would be no manager to close the business or be there for customers 2 hours before and after previously being told I can pay in cash before 7:00 pm. I was told if you want to pay in cash you can come back tomorrow which would be a 45 min+ drive each way.

Oscar J.Fire Jose (I believe that is his name) who works outside checking in the trucks or make him take training on how to give proper customer service. i have had more than a fee interactions with him over the last 7 months because of moving. His attitude is awful and rude. He only yells or barks at you when you try and ask questions. My first interaction was him barking commands at me as I was getting out if my car because I had pulled in to the lot vs parking on the outside fence. I told him I was renting a trailer and he didn't care he still made me move, park outside the fence and then after I had my papers move my car again to the same spot I was to get the trailer hooked up. While I did all this he was yelling at other customers who did something wrong unknowingly. But the worst and why I feel he should be fired is because of what happend last night. I returned my truck and needed credit because the gas level had not been right when I picked it up and I did not get the pads I paid for. I let him know and walked inside. As I was getting help from Bob who was amazing Jose sent in the sheet showing he charged me for $16,5 for gas. I only went 7 miles total. Bob saw this and even he said at $6,5 a gallon did I use approx 2 1/2 gallons of gas going 7 miles in a truck that gets 12 miles to a gallon. And on top of that Jose hadn't even moved the truck and he hadn't added a drop of gas. I was lucky in that I saw this and Bob corrected it for me. But it left me wondering and talking to others I know how many others has he done this overcharging to that have not noticed? It opens U Haul up to several law suits including class action, penalties and fines. Also lose of reputation for this location. He needs to be dealt with because stealing from people is so so wrong!!!

JEFFREY T.I recently had the experience of a renter not wanting to move out of my house. When they did leave, they left most of their things behind-we packed 7 seventeen foot truck loads of stuff to take to 2 large storage units until it could be sorted and sent to Habitat for Humanity, Goodwill and the rest to the dump. Without Uhaul, I don't know how it could have been coordinated and for a reasonable price. Thank you Uhaul!

RAED I.The first problem occured when the "CHECK ENGINE" light came on after around 50 miles into a 230 mile trip. I immediately pulled over and called the Beaverton location. I kept getting "We are currently busy helping other customers. You can download our 'ap' for assistance". I have never downloaded an "ap" and have no idea what I would do with one. I've rented from U-Haul (and others) for over 40 years and have never used an "ap". So I called the national number and got more song and dance that did nothing to help me having a "check engine" light on. After around an hour, I gave up on U-Haul and called my mechanic (Ford specialist), who said that if everything was running like it seemed it should, driving the vehicle would be unlikely to cause any damage. So my mechanic came through where U-Haul failed. WHY DO YOU MAKE IT IMPOSSIBLE TO REACH A REAL PERSON? The second problem, which only wasted a few minutes of my time, was that the U-Haul sign (on Hwy 8) wasn't on even though it was pitch black outside, so I missed the driveway and went around from Murray to Millikan Way to Cedar Hills Blvd back to Hwy 8. Why is this even a problem? The best part of the experience was that the vehicle was awesome! The counter guy's estimate of mileage was spot on. Other than the "Check Engine" light (minor) and Uhaul's serious communication issues taking up way too much of my time, the truck was spotless and performed flawlessly.

Peter P.Price is a bit high. There is no light in the storage unit. (Our previous unit with another company in California had a light in it.) Also, I had a unit reserved with my truck rental, but when my wife went in, they gave her a different unit and seemed unaware of the reservation I made online. Another thing, my wife and I both got keys to the unit, but they only gave us one access card to get into the area where the storage units are.
Allen P. | Premières impressionsDifficult to navigate - lacking signage and parking. I didn't enjoy figuring out where I was supposed to go when I arrived to pick up the reserved trailer. Things were coned off, and I was given verbal instructions that contradicted the signs. Similar experience when I returned. Service inside was fine, albeit a bit impersonal and hurried. The gentleman who hooked the trailer to my truck told me to put it back in lane N when I returned, and the two fellows outside when I got back hollered at me for doing so. Apparently it was supposed to go in a different spot. Backing up trailers is famously difficult for the average person who doesn't tow a trailer for work, so I was surprised by how unfriendly and not eager to help the people outside were. Renting out trailers to literally anyone on Earth without even asking if they've towed one before, it seems like the staff ought to be prepared to assist in getting it back where it belongs when the customer comes back.

laticia M.The online app does not work well with the physical location and i ended up feeling like i was getting two sets of instructions. I had to give my credit card and license info to both the App and in person when i picked up the device. I only needed the truck for 4 hours but after scheduling on the app i got a call from the location telling me they couldn't' do evening drop off and i would have to hold on to the truck and do the check in the morning. In the morning when i came back to do the drop off, i did everything on the app and followed the instructions it gave me. But after i dropped my keys in the box an employee came out and scolded me for not putting the truck in the right spot even though the app gave no indication there was a specific place to leave the truck. I life the truck in one of the marked spots next to other Uhaul trucks but was told it was suppose to go up front and not on the side where i left it. TLDR: the truck was good, the online experience seemed fine but it felt like the store had their own way of running things and it felt disconnected and confusing.

Edward N.This has been one of my go-to U-Haul dealers over the last 8 years. They always have a lot of equipment on hand, which is great. It does have a tricky parking lot to get in and out of - especially when driving one of their trucks or towing their trailers! I feel like there has been a change to their parking lot since my previous rentals. There is no space for customer vehicles to park in their lot and the return area is very poorly laid out and I was expected to hook up and drop off the trailer in a location that wasn't the easiest - or safest places to maneuver.

Man working outside checking vehicles (Hispanic and shorter) was yelling at me when I accidentally parked the truck instead of leaving it in back of line. I accidentally bumped the horn with my shoulder when I dropped the key behind the seat, so maybe he thought I was honking at him, I'm not sure. I apologized for my confusion and the noise. Felt a little aggressive though.

DAVID D.Be more courteous. Don't block the handicapped parking spot then tell me to walk up from the street. I use a cane and my handicapped placard was visible. Don't leave unattended trailers blocking access to drive thru. You had one in each lane. My friend and husband were with me, so I have witnesses. My friend was shocked at how rude they were. If my storage unit wasn't there I would use another location. They were more concerned about everyplace I went but took their sweet time hooking up the trailer. They did not do a good job on that either. The light on the front of trailer were flickering on and off on Saturday and on Sunday they didn't work at all. Worst experience to date. Would never recommend to anyone .

When I returned the trailer I witnessed Jose yell at a father and son who parked in the wrong spot and not 1 minute latter Jose got into a fight with a customer in line and Jose told the customer to go complain to the manager and corporate, he doest care, nothing will happen. These 2 interactions are highly unexceptable. You are still in a customer service business. I hope Jose is counseled and re-education on his job responsibilities.
Bryan N.I rent 1-2 times a year. checking equipment back in always a wait. traffic flow pattern changed put in place year+ ago causes backups in the return lanes. after waiting a while and not seeing any movement in the equipment return line in front of me, I unhitched my own trailer into an open spot.

The associate I was dealing with Rafat, told me to just bring the truck back. I told him I would after the first load. However, when I tried to reach anyone at the location again, no one returned my call. PS - The managers mobile number was non-existent. Luis V.The employees at the drop off were incredibly unhelpful. After we figured out where to park it (attendant just half waved towards a general area in the lot), we had difficulty maneuvering the hitch back into the space. The attendants proceeded to laugh and comment about it, yelling over to us he'd help for cash because, in his words, "money talks." Drive the extra ten or fifteen minutes to another Uhaul if you're returning equipment.

He interrupted and was dismissive of my unusual situation and problems. David outside was just the opposite. David was kind, a good listener, smart, and solved my problems. Brad on the inside was also excellent. However, Jose's rudeness and uncaring behavior is a showstopper particularly after driving almost 1 000 miles in a uhaul truck with mechanical issues. While I was inside doing the paperwork for my storage room with Brad, another gentleman came in and insulted the manager about staffing. The Experience was unpleasant and unprofessional. I've been using Uhaul for over 50 years and this is the first time I've had a vehicle with mechanical problems or a problem with rude people.thanks

I'm not sure what the company is looking for with that but from what I found out by asking around most people give an old address or just make something up. Not sure you're getting the information you want with that request. Just my two cents on that.

I have been renting trucks at same facility for decades and still great customers service every time. Thanks guys keep up great work.

We got there to find out that no, that's not when they close and that it's actually 7am-7pm M-F 9am-5pm Sunday The only indication of those hours were in the office hours but every piece of communication I received while booking said that office hours and self storage hours were different. The employees including the manager basically told us that that's the way things have been for over a year and shrugged us off. I don't understand how that can be the way the business has been operations for over a year but none of the online communications have been updated to reflect this. This is ridiculous and complete unacceptable. I will be making sure that we don't need this unit more than one month so that you never get another penny out me for the way I've been treated.

CHRISTOPHER F. | Expérience généraleStorage units were listed as 5x5, they do not meet these dimensions and I was unable to store the small amount of stuff I needed to. When this was brought up with the employees no one knew what they could do assist and make the situation better. I went in and complained about unit size being wrong and they were surprised I measured (unit exact usable space was 4'x4'6" barely large enough to put my storage rack in and not at all big enough for the totes I needed to store). All around the facilities are okay, the door latches and doors are weak wooden doors (for interior units) and never felt fully secure. Employees wouldn't even give me a single free box to attempt to make the situation better. Moved out of my unit within a week and had to pay to get an entirely new unit elsewhere as the access hours are minimal, and the staff is very unknowledgeable about how the business runs.

michelle m. | Expérience généraleStaff changed my access code for zero reason. That's customer abuse. I refuse to wait in line for an hour without getting reimbursed for my time. The manager doesn't care about filling the soap in the bathroom in the back of the storage lot, even during the plandemic. Too cheap to provide soap for us. Doesn't even empty the garbage bins in the bathroom. There's nails all over the road, I have to repair my tire once every couple of months because of this. The hours are awful, this is not what I signed up for and not what I paid for. I only get about an hour after work to access my stuff now. And the host spigots are now off limits, even though I was told years ago that was part of what I was paying for. U-Haul just keeps making it worse and worse for their customers.
Elliot T. | Premières impressionsU Haul of Beaverton is very helpful. Mostly positive experience. The facility is not the cleanest of facilities I have visited at U Haul, and the access to storage units is limited to 7pm and 5pm on Sundays. Wish it had more hours to access my unit.

The rest of the staff was always fantastic, I rented the unit for over a year and never had any other issues aside from access times. If not for convenience I would have walked out the first day.

The maintenance staff had blown dirt and dust into my unit and coated all of my belongings with filth. I now have to manually clean all of my belongings before moving them into my new house. When I brought this up with the management, they were dismissive (even though it was their fault) and told me to file a claim with the insurance company. I will do this because it appears to be the only way for it to be made right. Overall an abysmal experience and I will never recommend this place to anyone. I have tried to resolve this prior to writing this feedback. The assistant manager had told me I would get a call from the manager within 3 business days and I still have not received a call.
ALLEN N. | Expérience généraleFirst, thanks for having storage. I don't mean to knock on people. But I'm being asked how it went, so here's the answer... It took me over an hour to get my storage unit. First I had a lengthy wait in line. Staff were clearly very stressed and overworked. When I got checked in, the person at the counter did not seem to know much about the storage units. I was asked to fill out a form that could have been done much faster and more reliably online. I was assigned a storage unit and sold a disc lock. It took about 10 minutes to get my access code to work. When I got to my unit, it had a padlock on it, so I had to run back to the clerk and get it taken off. Then I found that my padlock did not fit into the hasp, which was different from most of the other units that DID have disc locks. I again had to go back inside, stand in line for another 10-15 minutes, and wait to be seen by someone again. This meant reassigning me to a different storage unit, since the one I was in had an older style of hasp that couldn't accept a disc lock. It was a good thing I went back in too, because apparently the first guy didn't take a picture of the form with my license, so we had to get out the paperwork and ID again. And he didn't ring me up for the disc lock, so we had to redo that whole transaction. Extensive signage around the facility says to ask about extended access. I asked. The guy I was talking to didn't know, so he asked another dude who started laughing and said we won't be seeing extended access again anytime soon with all the theft taking place around here. I was frustrated, because currently access hours are restricted to 7am to 7pm. I understand business is very challenging, staffing is hard right now and crime really is an issue especially being so close to a MAX station, so I don't want to sound like I'm beating up on people here. I'm glad to have a storage place. But those are the issues I ran into. The whole thing could have been done more efficiently, saving everyone a lot of time. Also, the signage referring to 24 hour access should be changed, removed or covered -- I did not discover extended access had been completely revoked until I was well into the process.

One employee in particular had a very bad attitude and was yelling at me and giving me dirty looks even days after. He always seems to be working out in the yard and was wearing a hat mustache and has darker skin. I reserved the outdoor biggest space specifically and received a confirmation that my reservation was made. When I arrive to my storage reservation with a fully packed 16 foot moving truck, I was informed that they only had the smallest unit available and that there was nothing I can't do. I spent $3 000 with Uhaul and I had to find other means to store half the remains of my belongings elsewhere. Thumbs down, the most terrible experience I have ever had as a customer at any business. I asked to speak with the general manager a few different days and no response. Suited.

Sandy C. | Expérience généraleThe staff has to blow the dust dirt and grime and gravel off the main drive through areas to get to my (previous) outside storage. These drive through areas dip in the middle to allow rainwater to go down the several drains. The staff blows from the lower center of the the drive through areas only thus blowing all the dust dirt and grit up to the entrances of the outside storage areas! I was always sweeping the dirt away from my storage entrance back down to the low center of the drain areas. Also the dirt and dust got under the entrance door that rolls up....carrying dirt and grit with it! I had to sweep the door off at the bottom and just inside the door ...esp. the sides where the dirt came in. Otherwise it was a great place, great staff and clean bathrooms!

Katherine H. | Premières impressionsMy total experience with U-Haul the other day was horrible the worst service I've ever had in my life I had to fill out paperwork five different times at four different facilities and to get the U-Haul every time I talk to anybody in customer service there wasn't a single person that said the same thing they all counterdicted each other they all said yeah that person doesn't know what they're talking about one of the people at the front desk said you can't trust or believe anybody in this business nobody knows what they're talking about she actually told me that as far as the storage unit it was good that was all good the manager took care of me there but for the rental of the U-Haul it was horrible

Took two hours for them to let me in. Incredibly rude. Locked my wife out with her car still locked in the gate and refused to let her back in until a manager got involved. Apparently they entered the paperwork wrong into the computer and refused entry to my wife. Which is fine but let her have her car back at least. Your airway heights location is amazing. But this one is absolutely horrible.

Another employee yelling at me and blaring horn for blocking road when the uhauls at the center were the reason no one could get through. Continued to blare horn at me even though he could clearly see me moving my vehicle. I tried to apologize and he told me he would be going to the office to report me as NOT eligible to rent my storage unit at the facility for causing problems by blocking the drive lane. I wouldn't have been blocking the drive through lane if the uhaul vehicles were not parked everywhere. My storage unit is a drive up unit I should have been able to unload where I was. And the moment I realized he was honking at me I moved and apologized immediately his rude, unfriendly and unprofessional behavior I will not be recommending this facility to anyone.

Then had to wait 30+ minutes for my online reservation to be found and taken care of. Bob, who was helping me, didn't seem to mind helping everyone else but me. Honestly if I didn't have all of my belongings with me and ready to store, I would've gone someplace else. Total garbage customer service, generally unhelpful and now we'll educated staff makes the process harder than pulling teeth. Seriously, fix your stuff U-Haul

We have a claim in and thank God I got insurance policy because they are being helpful , upper management and the claims department NOT the U-Haul location management. I will never rent from U-Haul again. Next time I am doing use storage pods if I have to store things again. I lost thousands of dollars in furniture and house items.

Shawn B. | Premières impressionsReservations mean nothing and the customer service was some of the poorest we've ever experienced at any business. Ahead of our out-of-state move, we made a reservation at this location for two large storage units. We received email notification that those units had been reserved for us. However, when we arrived at this location to sign documents and unload our two enormous moving trucks - with a moving crew we were paying for - we were met with a rude awakening. The guy at the counter was overly chatty and slow as molasses. It took him half an hour to get to the part where he let us know they only had one large unit available for us, despite our reservation for two. We were dumbfounded. Instead of finding a reasonable solution, the counter person told us that making a reservation online doesn't actually mean they have anything available. Not an acceptable answer when we've traveled multiple states and have been counting on the product we reserved with the confirmation we'd received. When a manager was finally brought over to review the situation he confirmed that they did not have the two units we reserved, only one. Furthermore, he adjusted our price to remove, yes REMOVE, promotional discounts that we had received online. When asked if they could make a deal for multiple smaller units to make up for the lack of unit that was reserved, we were told that was not possible. We would have to pay full price for each and every unit, with no promotions provided. This all happened while the manager and employee knew I was on the phone with their competitor, who is literally a mile and a half straight down the same road, to check on availability of the same sized units we had reserved through U-Haul. Rather than make any effort to keep our business or pretend they cared about our time, money or the predicament we'd been put in, they nonchalantly as if we "just want to cancel." This location did not deliver on any level of professionalism. Moreover, this whole process wasted our time and money with the moving crew we'd employed, who stood idle while the U-Haul team pecked at the computer keys and stared blankly at the screen and whom we had to pay for the wasted time at U-Haul and the drive to the new location. Terrible experience.
