Every detail of my rental wad screwed up. Was supposed to pick up in West Seattle and drop off in SeaTac. Was told the day before I had to pick up in Burien. Get there in the morning, find out I also now have to drop it off back in burien. I ask for the dolly I rented and was told they didn't have any and that if I wanted one I would have to go to the west Seattle location to get it. So I drive the truck to the other location to pick it up. Guy gives me an attitude and say I have to return it there. Why am I having to do all this running around due to YOUR incompetence??Samuel F.

I went by the day before drop off to verify that they had my storage unit ready for move in. The guy says they did so I said I'd be back tomorrow. Went back the next day and the same guy said oh we don't have one. I said well you said yesterday it was ready so did you lie? He then found some keys. Wandered off to check. He came back and said I don't have the right key. My dad walked in at this point and then his whole story changed. Like being female meant I couldn't tell he was full of it. He then opened what I would describe as the crappiest, dirtiest, and missing ceiling pieces unit. I was not interested and did not trust the location anymore. The manager them came out started walking to my truck still full as if to put it away and I stopped her saying it's not unloaded and I'm not sure it will be yet. She played it off like she wasn't walking towards the road and the only thing there my truck. My dad then came back from calling our help to not come yet. She preceeded to ignore me and only talk to him asking if she could find a different unit which her employee said they couldn't do. At this point to say I'm not happy is an understatement. My dad of course deferred to me as to what was to be done. The manager then finally acknowledged my presence. After she looked for a minute she stated there was no other unit. I said I'd find another company and asked if I could leave the car dolly. She said I could so I dropped the car dolly with them to check in but they didn't. then took my truck to a different storage facility. I returned the truck after an hour and was told that they would email me my receipt and they didn't for hours after. Still unsure if they checked in the car dolly. My overall experience was a dumpster fire. Will never book uhaul again. Completely disappointed in my treatment and equipment.Heather W.

The woman who did my paper work and hookup the trailer did a great job. Also, the man who unhooked the trailer when I returned it was quick and efficient. The trailer was a little dirty.DAVID S.

The customer service at this location is awful. Michael Galloway who helped me on this visit was nicer than most. Most of the front office people are rude and act like their job is to save lives sitting in an air-conditioned room, renting vans. They are not eager to help, try to make it your job to hear their mumbled voices, and do their best to the do the least amount of work possible. A simple "thank you" is asking for too much at this location. Talk about LAZY! The day before I showed up in person asking to rent a van. The associate (not Michael) say "i can't book you a reservation." I said "why?" He said "I just can't.". AGAIN I said "I've came here before. Why can't I rent a van?" He said "because it's month end" (without any explanation as what that even means. Today or tomorrow are just random days to me as a customer). I had to press him for more answers til he said "UHaul doesn't allow us to handle in store reservations at month end." That whole conversation took 10 minutes when he could put some professional effort and used his breath in the beginning to explain that in 30 seconds or less. Talk about LAZY! The van was so dirty on the outside when I got it. The inside was decent, but clearly not vacuumed. Also, I was charged for the dolly and they didn't even remember to put it in the van. I had to drive up to remind them after they made me walk really far on my own to get the van. Talk about LAZY! All I see at this location is LAZINESS from the employees. Very friendly. Van was NOT clean. Used the mobile app (good, not so good experience) so had no contract. All of the stickers on the truck to say look at the contract to figure out how much fuel to add, but no contract. Get an error when you try to download contract on mobile app, and there is nowhere to download contract on website. Also, it's summer and you're out of propane for months? WTF, people? Who's idea was that. That's inconvenient for us and you're losing a sh*t ton of money.Llew R.

The locations for drop off and pick up were fine, but the reservation process sucks. I don't see the point in making a reservation for a particular location to then be called and told you need to pick up your equipment at 3 different locations. This was absolutely ridiculous and inconvenient.Roger D.
While the service and equipment of this location was outstanding, for some reason U-Haul had my home location incorrect, and it took us 2,5 hours to drive to this location. We have several similar U-Haul locations much closer to where we lived before. I would suggest having U-Haul phone representatives confirm the customer's home location prior to submitting the reservation, thank you.Seth W.

I arrived at my confirmed booking time to find out that the equipment that I had reserved was not available. There were not plans to notify me of this prior to my arrival. I had a schedule to keep since I had hired help meeting me at a specific time, so there was no time to go to a different pickup location. I don't blame the retail staff necessarily, but this is a terrible way to manage reservations and it should improve immediately. I was able to make a smaller truck work for this particular date, but I won't be returning in the future.Mireille L.

After driving U-Haul that is a "Corporate U-haul". This is the key point. We drive up, they have an office, trucks, guys and supplies. Finally a U-Haul store/office that I'm familiar with. DON'T GO TO A U-HAUL "DEALER". You will just find some grocery store, tattoo shop etc. Not all of these places take back what you may have. Lesson learned the hard way. PS. I did try and schedule a drop off time & place place in Seattle ahead of time before we left Minneapolis so I could just drive there and they would be expecting me. The store I originally picked the truck up from in Minneapolis said he could not do it, just do it in Seattle when your done. There are plenty of U-Haul places in town he said. So long story short, make sure you don't go to a "U-Haul dealer". What a nightmare and a wasted 1 hour of driving through a town that I was not from.DANIEL S.

The truck that I had reserved had its catalytic converter ripped out the night previously and the rental dolly was forgotten, so I was stuck with a smaller truck that didn't work out for my move. TLDR: UHaul doesn't honor anything about their reservation system :) Also they hire people who are incredibly dismissive, refuse to help find solutions, and will hang up on you. They also hire people who are super helpful. I hope you get the latter. Horrible UHaul experience. I requested a 20' truck 6 weeks in advance for a 70 mile move. A few days before our move I received a call. At the start of the call, the woman on the phone - her name is Olivia and I'll explain more about how she's not my favorite person later - just blurted out "This is about the reservation for [name]." No context, no explanation. She seemed incredibly disorganized and had a hard time explaining to me what she was calling about. And when she did finally explain who she was, she kept telling me incorrect dates about our move. Basically, we're not starting out great here and she could've really used a script or something. After we figured out who she was and why she was calling me, she let me know that I would likely have to pick up the truck at a UHaul location 20 miles away or at a UHaul location ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE PUGET SOUND WHERE I WOULD HAVE TO TAKE A FERRY. UHaul did not offer to reimburse me for the additional mileage. At this point, I decided to book a smaller 15' truck because the website said IT WAS AVAILABLE at my local UHaul. THE DAY BEFORE MY MOVE, when it was too late to reschedule our paid-for movers, I got another call from Olivia who unsympathetically told us that there were no 15' trucks available anywhere nearby and that we'd have to get a 10' truck. Even though the website said they were available. Like, I got a warning when I booked the 20' truck that it might not be available. During the reservation process nothing (that I quickly or clearly noticed) led me to believe that the 15' wouldn't be available. I think they just overbooked and I got shafted. So now, for our 70 mile move of a 3 bedroom home we went from our initial 20' reservation to a 15' truck, finally being downgraded to a 10' truck. Our stuff COULD. NOT. FIT. No remorse. No apologies. No understanding. Olivia was short, uninterested, and made no effort to find a solution. I asked if we could get two trucks and she basically said "I dunno." When I finally said we'll take the 10' truck, she said "OK" and immediately hung up. No confirmation, nothing. Literally it went like this, ME: OK I guess we'll take the ten foot truck Olivia: OK *Click, call ends* That's the kind of empathy I expect from a teenager working at McDonalds - because, yeah, no one should take a Big Mac that seriously. Not from someone tasked with something as critical as facilitating truck rentals for people who are 24 hours from loading everything they own into one of these trucks to make a pretty substantial move. In delivering this news she ruined my move and cost me hundreds of dollars and didn't show an ounce of remorse or interest. Luckily UHaul doesn't only hire Olivias. Although I would really like UHaul to employ one less Olivia. After BEING HUNG UP ON I immediately called back and got on the phone with someone named Jason who was incredibly helpful and professional. Jason explained his process as he systematically looked for a bigger truck in our area. And when he wasn't able to find one, he helped me book a second 10' truck so we would still be able to make our moving day and I wouldn't lose the money I had already sunk into hiring movers. Jason is awesome and I wish every UHaul employee was like Jason. I even called back a few minutes later and spoke with him on a small follow up issue that he quickly resolved. Can't stress enough how great Jason is. One last comment about Olivia because I can't help it. I have worked in customer service. I am not a boomer. I tip well and I have literally never raised my voice at someone who works in customer service. I get that these jobs stink. Olivia's job seems really hard to me and I think it's something that deserves a lot of patience because I get that she is just delivering bad news to people dealing with stressful life events. THAT BEING SAID, I have never been treated in such a rude, dismissive manner. Dude, I'm six months pregnant and could barely keep it together on the phone. But I tried to smile through all of this and use my nicest voice because I GET IT. THIS WORK IS HARD. But she is not cut out for it and she is actively making things worse for people by being in this position. I hope UHaul does something about this: train her, get her in a different position, SOMETHING. But I really, really hope that anyone reading this review doesn't have to deal with her or anyone else. In conclusion, UHaul is the worst and will let you reserve trucks without actually reserving anything. Nothing is sacred. You are at their mercy. Book from a different company. I will be telling this to everyone I know :)PETER K.

Your staff is typically amazing so you must be doing something right! However, they seem to operate with little supervision and little training and few processes. They had no idea how to handle an upset customer (me) when I came in after my unit had been broken into. They need more support there. All they did was look uncomfortable and shrug their shoulders.Whoever the woman was that proactively reached out to me and finalized my move out was especially helpful the past few times I was there.
