Belinda ColeBeing my first time using uhaul, I would highly suggest others to stay clear. I work internationally, meaning I am limited on time and would expect your establishment to be prepared as well. I CONFIRMED my reservation with not only the physical location, but Uhaul customer service. My reservation with the truck was from 2000 CST - 0200. Due to errors made on uhaul's behalf, I was not able to physically take the reserved truck until almost 2200. That caused me to have to keep the truck until the location was open the following day because my reserved unit WAS NOT READY. This also caused me to have to reschedule an international flight for work. This negative experience will be remembered the next time I need any type of moving/storage assistance. The facility have me a free month of storage.. really? $84 doesn't even cover my airport parking that was necessary because I missed our company car to the airport AND again, had to reschedule my flight. Completely unacceptable and unprofessional.

An employee they call D went over and beyond to help me figure out the best way for me to transport two cabinets with huge glass doors using the U-Haul truck. He walked me over to one of the trucks to show me the inside and help me figure out my figuration for the cabinets to be laid to fit. Then he went on to explain how to use the pads to help protect the pieces. The visual and his explanation was priceless. And he did this at the end of the workday while making sure I still had time to get truck. Before they closed for the day. Thank you D! Transport was a success! Sara helped me with my reservation and paperwork while making sure I had the blankets and asked me if I needed a trolley or storage and if I needed insurance. She was thorough and very pleasant to speak with. Not only was she calm and patient with me but also with a co worker who needed assistance. Thank you Sara! Job well done. The only thing I would say as far as improvement would be more parking and a safer location especially for a woman dropping off a truck at night The checking in of the truck went went well. It took a few minutes longer because it was difficult getting a WiFi connection. I understand the need for all the documentation, it was just concerning being in the area at night. The service I received from the employees was impeccable! They make me want to come back again to rent another vehicle the next time I need one. Thank you again for a job well done. U-Haul is blessed to have you!

On top of that I turned the truck in an hour early the day of return, but received a phone call the next day asking when will I be returning the truck. I informed the person on the phone the truck was turned in the day before with one of the workers, that was scary! So, no I don't think I will be back to this location!!

She was extremely rude and unprofessional, not even introducing herself to me after picking up the call. I will never use UHaul again, despite the great service I received at the actual locations, because of this manager.

Staff put in incorrect mileage on the truck and we were almost charged an extra 550 dollars for extra mileage. The staff at the U-Haul in Defuniak Springs went above and beyond to get the situation and n rectified.

The inside of the storage place was run down and not maintained. We had to find a different storage unit in gulfport and we got charged for the miles it took to drive there. It was not a good experience and wouldn't recommend this location. The workers there were not friendly either when we asked questions they were dismissive and seemed bothered by us.

So I had to throw my stuff that wouldn't fit away.

They made it quick and easy and I was grateful. online is very convenient but took two days having to re enter constantly over and over til finally went thru. if it does that because someone has it reserved, please just say "you can try later" but having to keep entering info over and over was frustrating. Eventhough I like U haul and prefer to have my storage here.

No elevator available. The facility was not climate controlled and it was extremely sweltering hot while moving items in and out. I found a dead rat in my unit upon moving out. All of my belongings smelled like a dead rat in my car. I have to air out and clean my belongings before placing inside my home. There was a large cut out hole in the wall in the unit observed when moving in. I tried to cover it with a suitcase but I guess that didn't help. 2 rat traps were also in the unit. For future movers, an elevator and climate control or air conditioning would be beneficial. Merci.

I had no way to carry all of my things up the stairs by myself, and therefore this storage unit was useless to me and I never even used it to store any of my stuff. Terrell Lane | Premières impressionsThe facility was not what I expected from my previous experience with a different Uhaul storage facility in Hawaii. It wasn't as clean as I expected it to be and there is a very musty smell that concerns me will transfer to the fabric of the sofa, and will also be absorbed by the wood in the table and dresser. They also did not have the size that I had actually reserved online. I ended up with a smaller unit, and although the movers made it work for a sofa, dresser (standing upright), and round dining table (laying on its side), it is not ideal and will make it difficult getting things out without strong movers to do so when it's time to vacate. It also doesn't leave very much space for boxes. The other inconvenience is that there is no elevator. The furniture needed to be carried up the stairs, then up ramps to get to the unit on the second floor. Unfortunately, with the timing I had no other option as I couldn't keep the movers running around to different facilities or units. If I had known these things I would have looked for something better and closer to Bay St Louis or Picayune. Although every other place that I made inquiries with only had very big units which were too big for what I needed stored. What I had reserved was an 8x8 unit and that would have been perfect. What I ended up with was a 6x6 unit. On another note, I was impressed with the selection of packing supplies for sale at the facility.

The staff were incredibly helpful when that happened and quickly got us the information for the insurance we purchased so we could claim things.
