I was originally supposed to pick up my truck at 2009 n ash in spokane. My pick up was confirmed the night before over the phone. When I arrived they didnt have a truck for me. The guy was kinda rude and un empathetic there and I was told that they never had a truck for me and that i had to go downtown to get my truck. he said that well we are not an actual uhaul store if they screwed up it is on them. The people at the downtown location were great.john S.

The only complaint I have is I had to spend 15,97 on gas fill up and I only drove 21 miles, the gas gauge was always right on the F, however after I filled up it was well past the F. I know its only a bit of money but it's just the principle of it all...amity J.

The truck had been parked outside and snowed on, thawed, and refrozen, causing the cargo door to freeze shut. I spent 15 minutes trying to get the door to open. The padlock provided was also frozen and inoperative. A Judicious application of heat alleviated the problem. Those are the only gripes I have. The service was great.Christopher V.

They double charged me. Told me to take the truck to quickly unloaded at the storage unit I had just rented from them. Said no no problem just check it in on your phone when you get back. As they were getting ready to close. So we did the phone check in when we got back 40 minutes later. The next day I was charged for another day along with insurance charges when it was in there parking lot.Kelly H.

The vehicle I was given use completely unsafe- the brake lights and turn signals did not work property and were not visible to other drivers. I was given a death trap to use and paid almost a hundred dollars for it. The previous renter returned the vehicle late so it was not property checked in before being sent out for me to us. This is not acceptable and U-haul and its employees should be penalized. I could have been killed because of your carelessness. There were no other customers in the store at the time, so there was no excuse for failing to properly check the vehicle and make sure it was ready to be rented out again.Annette K.

They installed a hitch the wrong way. We used your website to set up the Appointment. We typed in the type of car and made the appointment. We did not know and the website or the installer did not tell us that there are more than one way to install the hitch. So they installed it and it was not the way that Subaru said it should be done. It was very low to the ground and did not include the electrical receptor for our trailer. When we asked to have it redone the installer was very rude. They finally agreed to take it off but we lost all the labor charges plus we were charged to uninstall it. You can change your website to tell people that there is more than one way to install a hitch for each car model.Carlton N.

The truck I had was probably the oldest and in the saddest shape of any that have every rented over many years, for example, coming down a rather short steep hill, the transmission never shifted out of first. I had to put it in neutral and use the brake to control my speed otherwise risk blowing the engine or the transmission. NTL, it didn't break down although my round trip was only nine miles.Keith H.

First U-hAUL AT APPROX. 8300 N. division were not at all nice. I reserved a 15 foot truck with my credit card the night before and because my wife has Dementia I was not able to be there to pick it up at exactly 9AM when they opened so They rented it to someone else and forced me to drive an extra 5 miles at $1,29 per mile to the Spokane Division and 3rd store who were exceptionally nice and understanding. Did the way North Division store charge my card? They could have called me on my cell. I also pre-arranged for a U-Haul in Bonners Ferry idaho last month and they ran my credit card and charged Then they charged me again when i returned the truck. mastercard is in the process of disputing these charges. I tried to talk to someone but after 30 minutes of tying up my business phone trying to talk to someone at U-haul to correct this problem I gave up and wrote Mastercard.Robert O.

The 17' truck we rented had 200,00 + miles on it. The engine sputters when going up hill, the driver's side door had to be slammed many times before it would actually shut, and the brakes needed to be pumped and pumped to work safely. This truck is dangerous for anyone but the most experienced driver to drive and should not be rented to just anyone. Perhaps it would be best to retire it? It is an accident waiting to happen. The U-haul representatives at this location are always friendly, helpful, and professional. We think they are great! It was just the condition of the truck that was troublesome. The truck I was given has something wrong with the ignition. It took many tries to get it started. I explained this when I dropped it off. The truck was clean though, just stressful every time I started it, requiring sometimes as many as ten tries before turning the key would start the engine. There also needs to be directional signs for the exit of the under freeway parking area. The arrows on the pavement point in the opposite direction of the actual exit. The exit should also be marked clearly. As I pulled out to test my mirrors, an older gentleman who worked there, ran out to let me know I was going in the wrong direction. He said that going the wrong way would lead to a low clearance area and potentially get the truck stuck. Again ZERO signage indicating low clearance. Then he was kind of rude as I wasn't backing up the way he thought I should. He did try to explain the correct exit direction at the counter during check in, but signage also needs to be present, as I was thrown off by the presence of the directional arrows on the pavement. The rude man did however help me adjust my truck mirrors. Dropping off was fine but the young man kind of blew off my warning about the issue with the ignition. It wasn't the worst experience but also not the best either, which honestly sums up pretty much all experiences I've ever had with U-Haul. At least the company is consistent.Kai D.

Staff are extremely professional, knowledgeable, courteous, efficient, and helpful, despite the "sketchy" location of the store, where numerous homeless tents and campsites exist in the immediate proximity. The owner/manager shared that she constantly struggles with equipment and building vandalism, ostensibly inflicted by the unfortunate people "living" on the street nearby. I did not, however, feel at all unsafe or threatened while picking up my equipment around 10 am, but I would avoid an "after hours" drop off here for safety reasons. I would indeed recommend this location to a friend, but with the side notes mentioned above.Robert P.

I was told on the phone that l had reserved a 5x 10 heated unit on the ground floor . I am elderly and had friends to help me move my few belongings into it after l sold my home in Spokane . I asked if Uhaul knew of anyone l might hire to move my belongings as a back up plan in case my friends were unavailable to help me . Next thing you know l have multiple texts from moving companies asking for my location and a timeline . I called Uhaul office back and told them l did not order movers . Was told that I must call a number and cancel it .... l explained that l did not order it so why did l have to cancel it . I spent part of the next day from 6 am until 4 pm calling the number given .... no one ever answered that phone . I finally gave up . Called Uhaul in Downtown Spokane and complained about the screw up and was told l did not have to call and cancel afterall . When l got to the place and checked in at the office the manager told me that it was not really a ground floor unit after all ( he said that is just what we call it ) but down long corridor and up Five flights of steps ! I told him that maybe he meant five steps ? Yes ( was actually 9 steps ) but a ground floor unit is on the ground floor not on a second floor with a low ceiling height all humans over 6 feet could not stand up Inside . No elevator in the building either . So requiring friends to Unload on to cart push down long hallway .... up the stairs and hand carry all to the locker some Twenty feet from the landing ( no carts up there ! ) Also on top of all the other BS there was 20 in. step up into the unit . Bottom line Is in no way was this a ground floor unit !!!!! The check in process took about a half hour because l had to give my information three times to the manager because of a problem he was having entering it into the computer . Once l had waited so long just to check in my friends ( soon to be former friends ! ) are out in the snow waiting for me to be done . Had l seen what l had reserved there l would have cancelled and gone elsewhere . Worst of all .... THIS IS NOT A GROUND FLOOR UNIT !!!!! No way no how should be called one ! Is a bait a switch . And to make matters worse instructing a number moving companies to text me asking for directions to my location when it was the fault of the company's employee in the first place and then it was my problem l was supposed to unravel on my own . I was stuck with trying to find another place to store my stuff or forge ahead with people there with my crap in their truck ready and willing to help . Hardly of the mind to think was a good idea to hope to find an alternative considering it was starting to snow pretty hard at that point and all my boxes were getting wet even tho my house was only 8 mins drive the check in took so long that all cardboard boxes were very damp and squishy by the time they got in the unit . I am 74 yrs old and now l have to return to Spokane in the Spring to get my things out of your crappy place .. Was a very trying experience for me and now l have to pay to get my stuff relocated to another place ...., to say l am disappointed is putting it mildly !!!!! I would not recommend your company to my worst enemy .... least while to friends and family !!!!!! I was put on the 2nd floor. I was told no other unit was available.even though I am 70 and a diabetic. My check bounced and I was locked out. I paid $221 to unlock it only to find water leaking inside on the floorboards. Then I missed the step right outside the unit and fell and hit my head on the cement behind me. The only problem I have is that this month i got a text message saying to.come in and pay my bill when I should have been on auto pay. Well the person who had helped me didnt out it on auto pay and I had specifically told him that I needed the auto pay because I have loans out and want to make sure it is one of the first payments to be pulled out. Well when I went to go correct this the guy ended up charging me and left me broke until next month... We were traveling from Boise Idaho to Spokane Washington. We got to McCall Idaho for lunch and could not shut the drivers door on the uhaul truck because the door latch was stuck in the up position. I had to tie the door shut which was EXTREMELY inconvenient. We drove 259 miles trying to keep the door closed enough to continue to Spokane. If that had not happened I would rate the experience higher, however, I got the run around from the Spokane location about any kind of discount for the unconvinced this caused. No one should ever be left with out proper passwords to access info to complete transaction. With out having to call a boss in a meeting. Who won't answer. So the customer has complete faith everything is ok. Not leaving with out signed paper work on rental till next day email. After $$$$$ was passed and no receipt? I had a full 20' U-haul truck that I need to store. The manager assured me that the unit he assigned to me would hold all of my goods. This was not true and I had to re-load my truck and move to a larger unit.This was quite an inconvience to me.
