The mobile check in process was really annoying. I entered everything I was asked for ahead of time. Then when I arrived to pick up the van it asked for more information I didn't have handy, like a passport or business number that could be called for verification. I already provided my license and credit card details. If you needed more than that it should have been asked for when I first set up the reservation so I wasn't caught by surprise. I had to go inside instead and have them complete the check in.

The truck rattled and made terrible noises when driving. There was a bad odor of stale cigarettes. Interior was clean otherwise.

Your representatives at West Seattle are all great, Everytime I've been there they are professional and engaged. To your corporate side... those roll up trailer doors are a pain,nosie, hard to use, limits ceiling height etc... give me swing open hinged doors please... Also your automated call & reserve system was a huge fail... not only did it not proiperly schedule what I needed, but even after calling in & speakinging to a regional representative, your email system keep sending me incorrect information, which then forced me to waste time trying to correct it...

Wow -really excellent service, start to finish. The young man who processed the rental was efficient and friendly - no upselling, no pressure. The man who checked the van back in was just as quick and just as friendly. The van was easy to drive and immaculate. I am impressed!

We made a reservation but when we got there they didn't have the type of truck we reserved. We were given a larger truck at the price of the one we reserved. But if we had wanted a larger one, we would have reserved that. What is the point of making a reservation if that reservation doesn't hold a truck for you? Steering of truck we were given was very loose and unresponsive. Shocks were bad. Also, the cab of the truck we were given reeked of cigarette smoke. All three of us who rode in the truck were nonsmokers and did not appreciate breathing that air for hours. Please institute a nonsmoking policy for all your vehicles and charge a big fee for renters who violate that.

Travelled 6 days from Houston to W.Seattle and needed to rent a dolly. Customer service was cold and not very pleasant. Also not much urgency during the timely process. 2 Hours later returned the trailer and dolly, same cold customer service with him getting frustrated with me because I couldn't remember if the account was my name or wife's. He also behaved that he had never seen me before even though I was there two hours earlier and even said I would be dropping the trailer off.

From my perspective, it seems this location has absolutely too many trucks on hand, and some of the lot could be used for customer parking. But perhaps I'm just underestimating how many trucks are needed for moving day in the area

I interacted with 3 people during my rental and all were GREAT-the perfect combo of friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. This includes Eva and the counter, the person who checked me out at the end of the rental (DK name), and Melinda, someone in the afterhours call center when I was trying to see if I had left something in the van. Kudos to all three!!

I was moving my whole house into storage. I rented a box truck first, then a enclosed trailer then an open trailer. The same girl hooked up the trailer both times. She was helpful, positive and professional. Great person to have on staff. Moving sucks but U-Haul was a unexpected excellent experience.

The whole experience of selecting a time is a bit of a nightmare. We said we wanted the truck for 4 hours, which by math of the system outputs 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. during the reservation. However your doors don't open until 9:00 a.m. and the checkout took about 20 minutes. I also stopped and used your restroom. When we returned the trailer it was about 1:20pm and the person who does the check-ins stated that we can be double billed for going over the stated return time of 1:00 p.m., but he's doing a favor by waving this fee. This is a ridiculous system. If we really get the truck for 24 hours, you should just give it to us for 24 hours and not jerk us around with saying the truck is late when we show up at 1:20pm. We selected no 4 hours to help you know approximately when we would return the truck. Next time we'll just select 24 hours.

The only thing is there is no ramp for upstairs units and no elevator so if you have an upstairs unit you have to carry everything down steps

The manager got the trailer back and said “so you didn't unhook the trailer while you had it?” We said No. he said something like, Are you sure? Like why would we lie. What we learned was it was not hooked up correctly by the guy who sent it out. Then the manager assumed it must have been sent out correctly and for some reason we disengaged it. Didn't like the suggestion we would lie about something like that. And god knows what was wrong with the hook up, hope it didn't endanger anyone.

Did not like using the mobile process for vehicle check in. The day prior it asked for my ID, which I sent. Then asked again during the already lengthy check in process. I'd rather interact with a person for such a long process than standing outside looking at an app. Will decline that option in the future.

The description for my unit is misleading. I only reserved this unit because the listing said there's an elevator to my unit. I still have to use stairs. There is also a rat trap in my unit. The trap says not to move it. Clearly, not too ideal for a 5x5 storage unit to have valuable floor space taken. I will be writing reviews on google and Yelp regarding this.

Vacated the unit after about a week but the attendant was unable to tell me if I could be prorated for my short stay. Charged an extra $100 in Albuquerque due to lack of planning by Uhaul to have the unit at the agreed upon location.

regarding my ranking of no on question y (recommending) u-haul storage - i would totally recommend based on Q1 thru Q5, but in my situation the rank is solely a cost reason. $194/mo is high for my needs (i really don't care too much about the contents anyway, and locker is bigger than necessary).... If it wasn't a free offer for the month, i would have had to find a much cheaper alternative.

For no reason they always had a lock on our storage unit when I ALWAYS paid on time. The original worker I talked to said that paying on the day it was due meant it was late (excuse me?), another coworker over heard this and told him that wasn't true and they shouldn't be locking our things. They got into an argument in front of us. Every time we had to have them unlock our unit they took their time and made us wait around 30 minutes. When we checked in with our key card the alarm guaranteed would still go off every time, but also no one ever checked on us when it did go off, so the staff just truly doesn't care or checks on anyones unit when the alarms go off. The automatic lights turn off after 2 minutes, so when we were in our storage unit we would have to run down the hallway every two minutes for the lights to turn back on. The layout was terrible and was impossible to quickly get our things since there was no ramp to roll our things down from the second floor with. We had to carry our items to the bottom of the stairs and then wheel them to our car. On our last day there, there was one worker who was in charge of the storage units and she has been the only helpful worker for the few years I have had to use this facility, I wish I got her name (but it is whoever is in charge of storage currently (9/27/21)) and she is the only one who seemed to follow any process or protocol. When she tried any protocol it seemed all the other co workers there were "too cool" or maybe just high, and would get in her way to do the right thing. She asked the red-headed guy with the beanie behind the counter if anyone did a final check on our storage unit, and he replied "whatever they're just going to sign." The thing was, we were waiting at our unit for someone to come check because they said they were sending an employee to do so, after waiting 30 minutes a different worker came up to tell us we had to move our car because they needed it for a truck (even he was abrasive, and did not wear a mask and we had to ride in an elevator with him.) On our way back up to move our car is when the red headed employee just told us to sign, so we were very confused that he made us wait 30 minutes next to our unit at all just to sign a paper that our unit was "checked." This is the most unprofessional establishment. But you know that already.

The unit itself had zero light so we had to use flashlights or phone lights to see our contents. The service from the two GMs we worked with during the 11 months experience was very good. Always responsive and willing to help. Will recommend to my clients for sure.

Move in was very easy but little information is provided as to where you need to enter. It also states vastly different hours on the website than reality. It was a major consideration when renting the unit only to find out it is limited to business hours, not the stated after hours access. I feel deceived and therefore do not feel I should be paying as much as I am. It is much harder for me to use this unit without the stated hours. I may need to take my business elsewhere as a result.

My only problem is that when I went to move out after I had cleaned the storage locker out and it was move in ready for the next tenant I ended up having to pay for another month even though it was the third and my bill is due on the third or else I would be sent to collections so now I’m stuck with an empty locker, so if I’m moved out and it’s ready to go why would I need to pay for another month please tell me that? thank you,

Overall experience at the facility was great. The negative is that I had to drive there to confirm/'rent now' for the booking. The online system only 'reserved' but not guaranteed the booking - that felt misleading and created a sense of unease had I not followed up prior to the date I expected my reserved two storage units to be available. The gentlemen I spoke with showed on his end the two units I reserved but they were not visible for me to rent now online so I had to drive there to complete the booking. This is a poor customer experience and should be improved. However, at the site, Reed was great - friendly and walked me through everything.

I am hoping to get a different unit. It was not clear to me in the online process that there is no elevator access to my unit and the instructions to access the unit were not specific to this facility. Knowing how to get into the storage area is unclear. There are available carts but the entry had a clock curb which makes the carts useless. I ended having to load and unload my items multiple times to even get them from my car to the unit because of the curb and the stairs. Nothing about this is convenient or conducive to an efficient move or storage. I would like to request a unit that is on the ground level or elevator accessible otherwise I need to cancel my service with uhaul.

Overall great experience - seamless, everything was ready. Would just be great if there were better signage about where to park to load/unload, and a ramp at the lower entry door, the step up plus heavy door makes it difficult to carry things in.

I had unit that was accessed by stairs. this was main reason for terminating the occupancy. Rents seemed high compared to what i was getting, U-Haul should run better promotions or give more incentives for long time renters (I have been here for close to 20 years, same unit)

My comments are based on 5-6 years of renting units from Uhaul and for the most part having awful experiences be the norm instead of the exception. The current manager has been exceptionally polite, professional, and helpful - Uhaul would be lucky to keep him. The flooding of my unit was handled poorly, but worst of all was the management's treatment of me at that time when I was not the cause of the flooding and damage to my stuff. I should have been compensated properly for the damage to my stuff, but I just am too exhausted to do all the work that should have been done by Uhaul to get reimbursed properly. It would have been nice if Uhaul had actually given me free rent for a while after that happened considering I was a customer for years and was a customer for years afterwards. The $500 wasn't nearly adequate to compensate for the damage and stress it caused. It would be nice if the hours to access our units were extended to 8pm, but it doesn't matter personally since I no longer have a unit. I am glad that the location hasn't shut down as it is convenient for all of us in West Seattle. I hope the friendlier service under the new manager is kept up - it's a nice change. In the past employees often were not trained adequately and couldn't do fundamental tasks involved in the job and it was extremely frustrating if a manager wasn't around to handle it. Hopefully employees are being trained more/better now.

Labor day weekend monday. James helped me knowledgeable. He took care of me other rentals returning rentals. Propane tank filled he got me a locker perfect. This man was only employee there. Excellent. But U HSUL COULD HAVE HAD SOMEONE ELSE THERE YO HELP IS IT NOT UNSAFE TO HAVE ONLY 1 PERSON THERE. BIG CORP SHOULD HIRE MORE PEOPLE. REGARDS JACK

You can never find the staff. The only time anyone has been somewhat friendly was today when I was moving out. The young female working was awesome but I didn't get a name. The youngish male was rude, snarky and completely unhelpful. He seemed to be some sort of supervisor. Also, I emailed and called the manager several times for help, due to Covid-19, in possibly waiving any late fees. I have always paid my storage, every month. I don't accrue late fees. Because of Covid, I have been late the last couple of months. I never heard anything back from anyone. I found somewhere else to store my things.

The letters sent if someone was a day or so late were appalling. Threatening and on no way customer oriented. Just rude. The unit was too expensive given how many units you have to rent, and on a corner street that is less than desirable. Even the "Please note" below is unacceptable given the world we live in now. I will NOT recommend.
