Awful experience with UHaul. I rented my truck to drive an hour north. I called UHaul and asked them to confirm that I could drop off the truck at the new town and they assured me I could. Once I went to drop it off though, there was a $250 fee for not returning it to the original location. Isn't that the point of UHaul?! They said it was stated somewhere deep in the contract, not shown in the app at all. Never using UHaul again

Ashley LaMasterWhen I got there, the keys for the truck I rented weren't in the box or truck. I called the 1800 number, she had me check 3 other boxes. None had keys. She finally helped me get a different set of keys for someone else's rental that was smaller. Which made me take multiple trips. In the panic, because I was very behind schedule by that point, I didn't realize there was no dolly that I had rented but accidentally put that I had one. There's no one at this location really so there was no one to ask for help. And when I returned it, it was just really dark there. I'll probably stick to other places to rent from since my first experience wasn't good.

Pretty annoying.Also 5/8 of a tank required gas when the gauge only reads by the 1/4 seemed like an excuse to charge for an "underfilled gas tank". Overall i am confident my next move will not be with U haul

bob brionesit was completely unprofessional. I gave my comments to Aubrey and Customer Service when I called to follow up on the return receipt. I didn't think using a phone app would be necessary when there was a person right there but from now on, unless rental is not their core business, it will use it next time for sure.
GREG MURROWHad trouble with the mobile app which delayed the pickup by 30 min, but customer service helped. Truck was covered in a few inches of snow which was tough to get off but luckily I had a good, long, ice scraper in my personal car to use. I did find ice-off spray the location had left out which was very helpful. The location was very muddy which was a bit of a pain trying not to get everything super dirty. Overall, would use this location again.

OTONIEL SOLISThis place was a great pick up,but when I made my reservation online there was a closer option for pick up, and that store location had closed so I would just say to remove locations that no longer offer pick up on your online booking system. I was informed someone would call me about my reservation which I assume that's why on top of how long I had the truck for, and they did, and they were all helpful
Cassandra TurnerImprove communication between emergency road service and the local offices. There was another customer waiting for me to return the truck when we got a flat tire. We tried to let them know so the other customer could plan, but no one told anyone at the local office.

Joel TimmermanI was called 30 minutes before my original pick up time and was told that I had to pick up another 26' foot truck from a different location due to a previous customer not returning the original truck on time. The secondary pick up location was 12 miles from my house instead of 3 miles like the original pick up location. I was still charged for the total mileage driven despite it not being my fault. I was given a $50 refund for Reservation Guarantee which helped but still felt slighted by the company. The original rental period but was for 11-14-2023 thru 11-16-2023. I dropped off the truck a day earlier but was still charged for a 2nd rental period despite returning thr truck an entire day early than what was anticipated. I called the number to the U-Haul location asking for clarity regarding these issues but was never given a returned phone despite leaving a message. I was thoroughly disappointed with this rental experience.

mark millerThe check out process was difficult. The video shows a navigation menu only found on uhaul.com, not the mobile app. This was confusing as the video instructs you to begin the check out process from your app. I also continued to get a 503 server error message while trying to begin the checkout process. The owner of the location helped me, but ultimately was very frustrated and insisted I did something wrong "in the app". When returning my equipment, the system struggled to take a photo of the back of my ID or confirm my location, even though my location service was enabled and I double checked the "having issues?" steps. Finally, the automated instructions aren't clear when returning your equipment if the dolly should be in the photos or not. It only asks you to take pictures of the truck itself.

The 3 people in line in front of me were all getting trailers and it took more than 15 minutes per person to check them in and get them hooked up. I rented a truck and the truck itself was fine and got the job done but I will NEVER use this location again.

Logan LangenhuizenThey tried to charge me a $25 cleaning fee for leaving an extra brand new blanket in the cargo area of the truck. I thought whoever used the truck next would appreciate it and it was NEW! When I initially called to see what the cleaning fee was for, (as I had left the truck in the exact same condition I got it) I was told it was because the coffee was spilled all over the cab. I knew this was untrue because I was the only person who drove the truck, and I do not drink coffee. When I called again the next day, Anthony told me it was because of the blanket. I couldn't believe it, shame on this location for trying to take advantage and ramp up junk fees. I will never be back.

wayne falceThe mobile only experience was unclear. The steps 1-3 that I received via email do not represent the actual steps. I had no idea there was a live verification, how the key pickup process worked, or that pictures of every part of the vehicle was part of the process. All of this confusion leads to people wanting to go to the office, which is frustrating for everyone.

Daniel WelshI asked if I could use it to fill up gas and they said no. The guy said I wouldn't be charged for a late fee still got charged anyways even though it was dropped off on time. Had to run and purchase gas cans to fill up. Crappy communication all around will not be using again. I will be leaving a negative review on Google

Just then, though, someone did come back to the office, so I think they watch carefully for their customers. The rental process went very well, was quick, and I was on my way in just a few minutes.
Steven WoodworthI would recommend to have a special post of the U-haul drop-off opening hours. This location was open 24hrs, which is great, but I didn't know that because is was not informed in the U-Haul reservation or the Google maps location information.

Are you doing me a favor by renting to me? Then you charged me for insurance that I SPECIFICALLY declined, several times while reserving. I even had to acknowledge your "scary" warning that I would have to immediately reimburse U-Haul... How about you immediately reimburse me for the extra charge you added on without my consent?

Scott WilsonLocation and equipment was great, but the check in process using the 24/7 truck share was AWFUL. It took me over 45 minutes, including 3 chats with customer service and 1 phone call before I actually got the keys after arriving at my location. App was buggy, I had to restart it several times, photos were coming up black in the app, even though they previewed fine, had to enter my DL info and STILL had to get my identity verified by an alternate contact. The agent suggested I use another phone or enter my passport info, as if I was likely to have a second phone and my passport handy on moving day. Having to wait 8 minutes for an agent to call me to resolve was the last straw. I'm not likely to book a truck using the app again.
Elizabeth LietaertGood selection of vehicles but they were closed when I dropped the trailer off. It worked out ok bet the online return worked out fine however I did not get a confirmation email yet of my return, plus I turned it in 24 hrs early so do I get a credit?

Anthony ChavezReplace Steve. No one was on site when we arrived for our 3pm pick up. The photos sent to my phone, by Steve; for us to approve condition of the trailer were photos of a flatbed. We rented an enclosed trailer. He shrugged his shoulders and replied it didn't matter. He was rude and threatening. The 12' double axle enclosed trailer didn't have any way to remove from my hitch outside of manual labor. I bet the $8 insurance policy I was forced to pay wasn't going to cover my bodily damage resulting from lifting the trailer off my hitch. I assume Steve can file a WC claim, so I had him do it. Regardless, very poor experience and I will question if uhaul will ever get my business again.
