James HughleyI'm leaving from the storage unit because of the customer service it lacks good customer service, when they mop the storage unit floors it wet up my merchandise so some of my merchandise has mold on it My storage unit stay damp and wet and it's supposed to be inside unit,, I've been with U-Haul over 7 years now because I run a photo booth company and this is where I like to store my merchandise right here with U-Haul. Luckily I'm going back to the new center area because they opened up their first floor with storage units I am happy to say I would not be leaving U-Haul I'm just leaving off of Joy road 😊 I really do enjoy the convenience that U-Haul provides.

MIRANDA HOPSONStaff and service was great. But the car transport trailer had not been maintained. Tire strap / tie downs were seized up and would not tighten or loosen. One ramp got stuck was not able to be pulled out completely. Made loading extremely difficult and almost had to return the trailer.

Deleon JanuaryThe rental was expensive. The truck had roll down windows, so I had not control over the window on the passenger side, particularly while driving. There is no cruise control so I had to keep my foot on the gas pedal for 2300 miles! Cruise control IS NOT a luxury option. The passenger side window washer did not work - dangerous especially during winter driving. The driver side door did not close properly so the wind was screaming through for 2300 miles. The driver seat did not move up or down even though there is a paddle on the side of the seat. The speed is locked at 75 mph, which is fine 90 % of the time but I want the option to go a bit faster, especially when the limit is 80mph and I have to pass a semi truck. The heating and A/C only worked through the front window vent option. The other options did not put out any heat or cool air. Awful experience all around.

DANITA ASHBYI must give UHaul a poor rating because I am highly disappointed. I rented a storage on December 26, 2023 at Uhaul on Joy Rd in Detroit. I moved out on Friday December 29, 2023. The first unit was vacated because the code would not allow access without coming across the street to ask for help accessing the unit. I upgraded to a larger sized unit but the lock was not able to be put on the unit without coming across the street for assistance to ask someone to help put it on. I have rented another unit at another facility and would like a refund. I was not able to enter into the storage unit without asking the busy clerk to follow me across the street to let me into the unit because the access panel was broken so I could not use the entrance pass. I upgraded to a larger unit hoping I would have a better experience but not so! I still needed to go across the street to ask the busy clerk to help me put the lock onto the unit because the lock lock placement hook was misaligned. The attendant had to use a screw driver to hold the latch together in order for the lock to be installed. I removed my belongings and found another storage location so that I could have complete access without bothering the clerks. I have since left a voicemail and text message asking for a refund with the general manager Dame and have not heard back. I also called customer service and was told they would contact him and ask him to call me back.

Brian McInteeI booked a 5x8 three weeks ago at Rochester Michigan location. Got a call the day before stating not available at that location.. could have next size up. Did not want next size up, opted to drive to Detroit..50 minutes away. The Detroit location 5 x 8 was not available (lights out and not to be used). So I am stuck taking the bigger uhaul.. but to top off a 4 hour ordeal.. the Detroit location tried to charge me the more expensive price for the bigger uhaul that I did want to begin with!! Your logistics team needs some serious help.

michele clarkStaff informed me that I could return the truck to this facility without charging a wrong location fee. Jaylan (he identified himself as assistant manager said he will not do that). After unloading the vehicle I had to drive it to the other location. He was rude and hostile. The storage unit itself was dark, dingy, and dirty. It had no lights and had huge rat traps in there. I only continued with the rental because I packed all day the day before and drove for hours to get there. I had a loaded truck and nowhere else to store at last minute. I will never recommend this nasty location. The assistant manager was as nasty as the unit.

Only to arrive with my items and it not be big enough the gentleman at the desk was not knowledgeable or helpful with product info. If it wasn't for the gentleman on the afternoon shift I would have not been helped. The general manager of the location has a arrogance about himself which is not professional when I picked my truck up he was not helpful when asking questions he just answered as he walked away not standing and trying to help. I ordered a dolly I was told it had been loaded only to get to my house start loading the truck only to realize I gotta go back to get it. The whole morning crew there were not helpful. The gentleman in the evening was very helpful

The gentleman at the Joy rd location completely mad my day by owning and fixing the issue even when it was not his fault!! He deserves a raise or promotion because no one else took that initiative they all just sent me to different uhaul places using more miles and gas in the uhaul in the end!

We expected after hours access to our unit but later learned the units on the office side are kept under lock and key and only accessible during office hours. Staff was mostly professional. Facility seems maintained other than age and dry wall damage. No issues to report.

rosemary okpo | Expérience généraleThe storage itself was great but I called for nearly a month and couldn't get a hold of anyone. I moved out of my storage on the 8th of April. I called on the 9th of April and no one ever answered the phone. I called the corporate number and spoke to someone. She also tried to get in contact with them but wasn't successful. She left notes on my account that I moved out of the storage units on the 8th but they were still trying to charge my card for the units. I called 4 more time and still the same thing happened. The fifth time I called I talk to someone who said she seen the note that were on my accounts that said I moved out of the units but she couldn't close the accounts until the manager did a walk through. She took my payments off auto pay that day.

I called the customer service number and they said that they put a note on my account that I moved out of the storage and had been trying to contact the actual store with no luck. That cover was placed over one of my display stands; no tent ‼️I had not been in my storage bin since Covid 19. I also noticed that my other larger tent, the cover had been removed and was laying over my chair. I would have never left the cover off my tents. Especially the larger one, because the cover has rolls on it and that's the way I brought it in and took them out. I went to the office twice and I have called the manager. Instead I had to keep going to the manager to gain access to storage unit, which was overwhelming to say the least. I Can you imagine moving in a surgical boot on your foot. Very frustrating.

James Johnson | Premières impressionsLoyal tenant for nearly ten years. U-haul goes up on the rent every 10 months, atleast $10. There was never any updates in the facility. A lot of my thing were destroyed in a flood from the roof of the facility. I decided to leave after the last rental increase. My things had rodent waste on them. I put them directly in the trash. :( I would not recommend storage from U-haul for long term, not more than 2 months.
