Shocks in uhaul were bad, brakes were loud. First two uhaul reservations were cancelled. I had to drive outside of a 10 mile radius to pick up avaliable truck, then had to pay milage. Reserved a furniture and appliance dolly, neither were in the truck. The employee went to get one out of the cage, I could see an appliance dolly, but the employee wouldn't rent it to me. Supposedly it had been stolen and he hadn't taken it back to where it needed to be for three weeks.. There was insects (roaches) in the back of the truck so I had to buy and spray raid before I could load my stuff. In a pinch I was able to get my stuff moved, but I feel ripped off.

Kept a pick up 2 hours, rate was suppose to be 32 dollars. Only went 25 to 35 miles if that, and ending up being charged 58 bucks. I also put 10 dollars back in the tank.

I have rental several trucks from Uhaul over the years, and this is the first time that I did not receive a truck with a full tank of gas. I was instructed to return it with a full tank of gas and when I told the check out person that the tank was half full when I received the truck, he kept telling me that we do not refund for gas. This is totally unacceptable, since I was told to return it was a full tank of gas, he did not tell me to return it with a half of tank of gas. I look at my paper work and there is no where that it states that they do not refund for gas. BUT if this is a true statement then they should have offered a store coupon for 20 dollars or something. Also I rented the truck for 6 hours, I could not check out the vehicle until after the time that I requested it. So 20 minutes into my rental time was when I received the vehicle, I had movers scheduled that I paid for which then cut into their time. If I rented something for 12 noon I should receive it at 12 noon and not at 12:20.

Make the next person feel welcome. When a customer comes into the business have the common courtesy to speak back when the customer speaks and say good morning, good afternoon or evening when picking up a truck or supplies of any kind.. It doesn't cost nothing to be polite and manners?

My original preferred choice location was a mile from my home. I was told the day before my move that the truck I reserved was not available. I was called by a U-Haul representative and told to go to another location in the morning. They didn't have any trucks. This location called U-Haul on my behalf and I was told two other locations, neither location had any vehicles. By this time I was two hours behind schedule due to driving to multiple locations. I then called the U-Haul location at Southfield and Joy. The manager Craig told me that he had a truck available. I almost cried. His team member reserved the truck for me and his team was very nice, helpful and respectful. They saved me and I am so grateful.

From beginning to end... my experience was horrible! Totally unprofessional and rude staff! Trucks are not cleaned or kept up at all! The van I had felt like the transmission was going out. When I walked in to pick up my van, there was no greeting walking in. Only one person working while the other is on their phone not assisting to get customers helped then when returning my van, myself along with other customers had to wait over 10 minutes before anyone even came into the desk area. Upon his return, I still waited an additional 20 minutes to close out while I had a Uber waiting! It was a lasting impression for sure and I won't be returning!

Vehicle rented was dirty and dusty on both inside and out. I only needed the truck for a few hours however if I wasn't in a rush I definitely would have brought this to the manager's attention before I left the store!

Get your scheduling system in order,Work on Customer service. Have your people in place for early pick ups. Hours open should match pick up times. GM should have override authority and use it when necessary.

9/4 went to pick up my trailer I had accidentally reserved the wrong trailer. I went to the agent (Jafre) switch paperwork. In switching the trailer she also added Safetow. I never requested Safetow. I always decline coverage I have rented from U-Haul on 300+ occasions. She said to (manager) that trailers are to heavy she wont hook them up. On our way she doesn't mind doing the paperwork inside but hooking up the trailer is for the guys. I went over to the trailer and waited for someone to hook it up and no one did. Finally I just hooked it up myself. I told them that I had hooked it up and was leaving. Returning the trailer, Ayesha purposely sat inside a uhaul truck until I unhooked the trailer ! I noticed that the Bill indicated Safetow on there I asked why she said it's required unless I show my insurance. I said since when ? She said ask the asst MGR . He said yep . I said you guys are lieing to my face. I definitely won't return here ! Nooo customer service and BOLD FACE LIE !

Why have ppl complete the order online when you have to wait and wait...my truck was scheduled for 230..i didn't even get seen till 310.. that's unacceptable.. not enough staff.. and they aren't helpful when asking questions..acted like I was bothering them

Online reservation was cancelled after being exactly one hour late. Understand why that was the case but was totally unaware that it was a possibility. Need to make that much more clear during the final part of the online rental process. Craig, at the Uhaul site was able to get me back on track quickly, however.


Workers were borderline rude. No greeting. When I returned rental, the person took the key and walked off. I started to follow her to the truck when she turned around and rudely said I got this. You don't have to follow me. I didn't know if I had to wait or if I was all set. She got out of the truck and started walking to the store. Never said follow me. I ended walking into the store. A few minutes later she handed me a receipt. Still no word to let me know that I was all set until I asked . I will never go back to that location again. Even if they have the only truck available.
