No suggestions. The facility is well-lit and spacious, including the yard which makes for easy returns. The staff were knowledgable and friendly. The equipment was ready to go and performed well throughout the job. All was very well.

My main complaint is your phone service and prompts. I have no complaint about the work. But your phone tree is awful and it is impossible to get a human to help. I just needed to call the shop and find out if my car was ready to pick up and it was impossible. I finally just gave up and drove over there after several hours not knowing what I would find . When I called, I kept getting bumped to the national system with a bunch of prompts and offers to download apps, none of which was relevant. You need the opportunity at some point in the litany to connect with a human, if none of the prompts are relevant or helpful who can help, The scheduling of the work and the work and shop itself seemed good

Truck was dirty and stunk inside. When I returned it they claimed I left a scuff mark and charged me $155 dollars. They tried to claim video was to foggy to see if it anything was done to it after it took 3 hrs to check it in . Disappointed and horrifying experience

We did have trouble with car tow. The straps on left front tire came off twice during transport. I reported that to person at return location and she confirmed it was defective and she would be replacing straps before car tow was used again.

Get the online check in correct. It did not work and I waited there for one hour for the location to open. Zero help from the 800 customer service line. 45 minutes on hold and provided no solution. However, the support inside the location was outstanding. They are always very nice.

Have the staff check in trucks properly. I had a 24 hour drop off yet they charged me for an extra day and extra gas. VERY UPSET ABOUT THAT!

Excellent people working the counter and on my return check-in at U-Haul Moving & Storage of Ann Arbor. Thank you! People make the difference. And, of course, U-Haul made out on the original quarter tank of gas, as I'm sure is expected and business as usual. Before long, maybe four or five more customers, your tank will be topped off for free.

Location was disorganized. Truck wasn't ready. Truck beeped everytime you got in and out. Pick up took almost an hour. The staff couldn't find the keys. The staff was not welcoming.

1) Rear door cable needs to be replaced. It is going to jamb imminently. The cable is all over the place. 2) The truck likely needs an alignment. It drifts left and the steering wheel point to the 10 o'clock position when going straight.

My only feedback that I feel strongly about improving the policy for handling tolls on long-distance drives. PLEASE make sure you have clear policy and inform your staff of it. I asked the MANAGER at the Ann Arbor store as I was picking up the truck how tolls would be handled - would I pay cash, is there a transponder, etc. He explained that UHaul uses a license plate reader and that I should use EasyPass lane. Well, exiting the Ohio Turnpike in the EasyPass lane was a dumpster fire with your U-Haul truck at the center of it. Traffic backed up behind me until toll agent came over and explained that the Ohio Turnpike has no such thing for U-Haul and collected $24 in cash from me. I was able to proceed but I received the ire of the drivers behind me in differing forms of road rage for the next mile or so. Other than that, it was a great experience.

The mobile app is terrible. I was unable to take out or return the truck with the app. Fix it or get rid of it and stop advertising 24/7 access The truck did not have cruise control which made it a challenge to drive.

When I placed the reservation I included dollies as part of the reservation. When I picked up the van I was informed none were available. This was frustrating because renting the van involved moving a large item and I ended up having to buy dollies to complete the task. I asked if any consideration could be made and was told it could be considered at the return, but there was no discount showing at the conclusion.

The 1/8" input jack on the stereo was mangled and unusable. Also, right side windshield washer sent the fluid over the cab and therefore didn't clean the window. The biggest problem was the mileage estimate. I got charged an additional $20 for being "over the allotted mileage". I don't know how this was calculated, but was well short of my distance. Chicago is a big place, so how did it pick an arbitrary amount? The mileage estimate was never discussed at pickup, was supposed to be a flat 2 day rental for one way transit. And I only used it for a single day. Plus, I originally had the truck booked at a station walking distance from home. A day before, got a message that I had to pick it up from the furthest station from my house. That added 10 miles right there. Another way to gouge people unfairly, will look at alternatives for future moving needs. U-Haul wouldn't credit the amount.

I do not appreciate of condone having my picture taken. That was not indicated when I signed up on line. You have all my driving info with the picture driver's license and CC. I have no idea how my image will be used. If someone is using non-picture ID that is one thing, but with a gov't issued picture ID it is over the top.

I had a hitch installed at U Haul Ann Arbor (3655 South State Street) and had a great experience. Installer Zack Pasttoria did a great job: - Clearly communicated which areas of the vehicle's underbody shroud need to be trimmed to accommodate hitch installation; - The installation took about 1 hour while I waited.

I've been using this facility for about 15 years off and on. Saturday was not great. As I was picking up my truck, everything checked off until went to turn on the heat in the cabin to defrost the windows and warm up the cabin. There was no knob to do so...long story short I eventually had to be downgraded to a van which was smaller and required more trips for my move and extended the stress and move to take up double the time. If a credit could be applied to my account I'd greatly appreciate. I went to roll down the window and that too had a knob missing. I was delayed quite a bit.

The check in was efficient and friendly. The first van assigned had a dashboard light in for an oil change, the customer service rep saw it before we left and easily swapped out the van for another one. And after hours drop off was clear and easy.

They guys working were very kind, and helpful and accommodating as after beginning my moving into the unit I quickly discovered I would not be able to fit the one I had gotten and so they were kind about moving me to another unit without anything but the friendly and patience from the start and even provided me with how to switch my trailer rental return to their location which was my storage's location vs goin 30 minutes to the other town.!!! These guys provided a genuine environment of ease durning what can be an excessively stressful experience.. as mine was :-) Great staff and well maintained location

This date is the only time I moved items into #1201; am pretty sure it was as my house was foreclosed on while I had just started the Travel Nurse chapter of my 38 year long RN career, 2010 or 2011... I was working in either Mayland or California& my 1st & 2nd & 3rd daughters did the moving, for me & it was opened by my #2 daughter, who remains my secondary/backup person; as now, relisted for #1201. My VIP CERTIFICATE is assisting the rental fees for the 1 month fee waived [Thank you much!], & my details were entered into the computer system just 11.01.2023, by Brandon, AA, MI manager, once he thoroughly explained the U-Haul error.

The response time is long after I submitted a move out request online. I understood that summer is busy but having to call more than 5 times and not able to get responses from the facility is frustrating. Nevertheless, manager is polite and efficient once we got in contact. It would be good to have an estimate response time and update before having time to resolve the issue

Everything about our storage unit move in and trailer rental was very good. Only issue is the waiting in line, which was ridiculously long - like almost an hour.

This was the absolute worst Uhaul experience I have ever had. 1. There was only one person processing customers at a time when there were several customers in line. With about five customers in line ahead of me to begin, it took an hour to be served. There were several other Uhaul employees just standing around waiting to be told to fetch something or run errands. But only one person was at the computer processing customers on a Friday morning/afternoon. 2. The one person at the computer processing customers kept breaking away from his job to text message someone and take personal phone calls which made the wait unnecessarily even longer. After each time he finished with his cellphone, it took him a minute to figure out where he was and what he was supposed to be doing on the computer. 3. When it was my turn in line, he assigned me a unit (1127, I think). When I went out to the unit, it already had a chrome lock on it. It was already occupied. I went back inside and waited 20 minutes for him to finish with a customer. 4. When it was my turn again, he searched on the computer then told me he doesn't have any units. I told him that I had a reservation and asked how can they not have any units if I have a reservation. He then told me that they were over-sold and that since my reservation was free that I don't have a unit. My mind was absolutely blown. I told him that doesn't make any sense at all. I said that the Uhaul website offered me a free month's rental on a confirmed reservation for a unit. I told him that the Uhaul website didn't say anything about being oversold or that my reservation was pending or on standby for a unit to come available. I told him that the Uhaul website didn't say that if I accept the free month's rental that I would be put on standby instead of having a confirmed reservation for an existing unit. I told him that this was extremely bad business. 5. I asked him to cancel my reservation. He told me he already did. I have had a long-standing relationship with Uhaul at other locations around the country. This, by far, was the absolute worst. It was embarrassing. I'll let you guys do the analysis of my review and try to sort out how to resolve your own issues. Fortunately, there were other storage companies with available space on short notice without a reservation. I went with Cube Smart down the street. Their prices were reasonable, and their staff was extremely helpful. Thank you for allowing me to submit a review and report of what happened last week. There were several other Uhaul employees just standing around waiting to be told to fetch something or run errands. But only one person was at the computer processing customers on a Friday morning/afternoon. 2. The one person at the computer processing customers kept breaking away from his job to text message someone and take personal phone calls which made the wait unnecessarily even longer. After each time he finished with his cellphone, it took him a minute to figure out where he was and what he was supposed to be doing on the computer. 3. When it was my turn in line, he assigned me a unit (1127, I think). When I went out to the unit, it already had a chrome lock on it. It was already occupied. I went back inside and waited 20 minutes for him to finish with a customer. 4. When it was my turn again, he searched on the computer then told me he doesn't have any units. I told him that I had a reservation and asked how can they not have any units if I have a reservation. He then told me that they were over-sold and that since my reservation was free that I don't have a unit. My mind was absolutely blown. I told him that doesn't make any sense at all. I said that the Uhaul website offered me a free month's rental on a confirmed reservation for a unit. I told him that the Uhaul website didn't say anything about being oversold or that my reservation was pending or on standby for a unit to come available. I told him that the Uhaul website didn't say that if I accept the free month's rental that I would be put on standby instead of having a confirmed reservation for an existing unit. I told him that this was extremely bad business. 5. I asked him to cancel my reservation. He told me he already did. I have had a long-standing relationship with Uhaul at other locations around the country. This, by far, was the absolute worst. It was embarrassing. I'll let you guys do the analysis of my review and try to sort out how to resolve your own issues. Fortunately, there were other storage companies with available space on short notice without a reservation. I went with Cube Smart down the street. My experience with U-Haul was horrible it was far beyond less than any expectation I would have for a company of U-Haul size we were given the wrong destination to begin with before we even left with the vehicle I called and had that corrected as well as the storage unit location corrected yet later that night when we showed up to put our items in the unit and return the truck we were not able to as the place we were sent was closed after we were told we could access to a certain time after all of this we continued to have issues with U-Haul and called them countless times three days straight and finally talk to somebody it looked at the computer fine to look at the surrounding cities to see if there was any storage available since storage was not originally set up like we were told it was

Extremely unprofessional staff who told me he only cares about his children and could care less about me as a customer. If I wrote down all of the disgusting comments he told me, I'd be typing for hours. Horrible, disgusting storage facility and when I'd tell people, who had storages elsewhere, about the price and the service, and the comments I was told, they'd laugh in shock and talk about how their storage facility manager/owner treated them like a friend with respect. Uhaul is a disgusting, disrespectful and deplorable place to rent from.

Storage was great and what I paid for. I was disappointed about the price hike toward the end of my lease but like everything else I expected it. Only issue was trying to contact the office to end my storage lease. I submitted an online form and tried contacting the office for two weeks before I just went in person to ensure it was closed. The phone systems rerouted to a general line and never went directly to the store.

The staff was very precessional and helpful. The storage unit was clean and very accessible. Trying to close my unit online was a challenge but emailed Reid, the General Manager, and he got it done. I appreciated that. I've had a good experience with UHaul on my move to Ann Arbor from Billings, Montana. UHaul made the move go easily.

Our unit was not available and Veronica jumped on getting us room for our stuff at 4:20 on a Sunday! Aaron was helpful as well. Gary went the extra mile and took us personally back to the units. We were on a very tight schedule and we got unloaded (had to go with indoor units, plural) in a very short time and on our way. Customer service at its best. You may want to check the 15ft truck tie rods, etc. as the handling seemed little loose. Keep these people though!! If I could give more stars, I would.

We paid for 24- hour access, but then were unable to access at 10:30 at night. After hours phone number went unanswered. Phone call to customer service didn't show any issues with our account and left it to us to resolve. I make this comment with the understanding that it is difficult for employers to find help right now. The location was understaffed which led to very long wait times to check-in and to get on the road. The staff available were extremely polite and as helpful as possible. U-Haul's mobile check-in does not work. This is not a complaint about the location. They do not control the app. This is on corporate. Tons of pressure could have been taken off the limited staff had this app worked properly.

One of my worst experiences at U-haul. Was given a storage unit only to find it already had a lock on it... and then this happened a second time... and each time took way too long to figure out. The staff were overwhelmed and poorly managed by the manager on site. What should have been a 30 min MAX experience turned into 1,5hrs of my time. It seemed like they were also missing a truck, which contributed to the disorganized chaos.

My original reservation wasn't available, and the office was unable to honor the original price of my storage unit - I was forced to pay nearly twice what my original rate was. I'm likely to call the customer service hotline to see if something can be done, e.g., a free month, a lower monthly rate, etc. I made the reservation more than two months before it started - you should change your system so that it doesn't allow new reservations if it's unlikely there will be space available on the start date.

When I arrived my unit had a zip-tie on it and no lock inside, which was the only thing I needed to actually get started. I had to go in the office and ask for one, which makes the online no-contact reservation idea pointless. I was able to figure it out, but the system of arming and disarming alarms at one panel, and opening the building doors at a different panel, was very confusing. I heard one alarm go off while I was moving in, and I'm sure that happens all the time. The unit numbering is also very confusing, and it took me a while to find the correct building (I'm in the 1600s). Going from the 1400s to the 2000s, and having the 1600s out front, makes no sense. Finally, the stairs to the upstairs units have a lip on them that makes it much harder to pull a dolly up them.

Charged credit card when first free month was free. No one answers the phone after 20 minute hold. Tried again, hold for 25 minutes then routed to corporate answering service. They claim some random reason why the Uhaul website was wrong for the free month. They got through to the office in minutes. I was promised a reversal of charges. The original charge to card was not canceled. It went through. Received email of credit, but it hasn't hit my credit card. This free month seems like such a sham. Traveling out of state having bogus charges on my card is bad business and inconvenient during economic mayhem due to the virus. I'm disgusted.

Dear Austin Brown, I've had half a dozen excellent experiences w State St. Uhaul renting vehicles/trailers over the years (at least one of them directly with you), so when I needed storage space, it was a no-brainer, but I was sadly disappointed in the service I got. I reserved a 10x15 space online, and went to get access to it the following week (Tue Aug 4), Michael Fender was rude and exasperated to start, and let me know that the website's listed hours of access were wrong, requiring me to pay $10/mo more; and though it's not listed anywhere on the website, I had to provide or buy a discus-style lock. So far, not great, but workable. Then, my access card didn't work, and when I went back to the front to get it re-programmed, exasperation and rudeness increased. Then, when I finally got to the unit, there was a lock on it. After visually confirming, we went back to the front desk, and Michael searched for another 10x15 unit, but there were only 10x10 (too small for my needs) and 10x20 (too expensive for my budget). He was willing to waive the 24-hour access fee, and give me the lock for free, but I was only going to keep 24-hour access for a month anyway, so that didn't nearly make me whole for the difference of the price of the 10x15 and the 10x20. His only solution at that point was to direct me to the next available 10x15 unit *in Westland* which didn't work for that day (i needed to be somewhere *with my vehicle emptied* in 20 minutes), nor did it work for me in the long-run, being 25 minutes each way too far from my home base. I was understandably frustrated and rather than listen to my frustration, and acknowledge that, he sharply told me that he would not adjust the price to fit my needs, nor could the manager. As someone who manages people myself, and has had to deal with corporate bureaucracy, *I* would want the opportunity to address a repeat-customer's frustration myself, rather than risk losing their referrals and business forever, having been dismissed rudely by a front line worker. My stuff had rat feces all over it. The personnel would not allow me to access my unit with a locksmith present in a timely fashion. They wanted me to access it at their convenience.

I checked out my unit in July and was still billed for August and not just that the place was sending letters to and others on my list on contacts saying my bill is passed making in embarrassing.

I rented a storage unit. When it was time to remove my items from storage I booked a truck weeks in advance. The truck was not suitable and broke down 30 mins into trip.

My experience at UHaul of Ann Arbor was excellent! I stored my belongings in a UBox in between moves. The staff was very helpful and I will definitely be using this UHaul location again!

We never had to visit the site. The site called us that our containers had arrived and the moving help that we hired from Uhaul picked them up and delivered them a day early. It was an easy move!

I got frustrated because the alarm in my unit kept going off even though I clocked in and out. It was frustrating and no one could fix it. Eventually on my last day there it stopped going off.

Boxes expected on June 8 finally arrived on July 11. Apparently the only truck in Michgan broke down twice. IThe unpacking crew had a truck - it broke down twice. I was charged extra for the storage

Staff member did not know how to close out, slowing the process. I moved out 7 days prior to the mo. end & told there was no prorate. Bad business not to refund when I paid a full month in advance.

I would recommend a ramp for the indoor storage so a person could move the cart up to where the storage unit is. If my son had not been with me, I couldn't have accomplished my task.
