This location and the staff are very helpful and friendly. No complaints with this location. On the other hand -- central booking needs some help. I reserved a unit nearly a month in advance only to find it not available on arrival with a truck load of stuff -- it really backed me into a corner. Although the local staff did their best to try and accommodate me it was not practical and I had to find a storage location elsewhere last minute. Very disappointing and I will not use Uhaul again for this reason. Not what I had come to expect from Uhaul -- Poor, Poor, Poor!

Brandon Mallory is one of the most amazing people I have ever met. He ALWAYS makes you feel so appreciated as a customer. The minute I walk thru the door, he always says “ hello, I'm here to help you with all your moving needs.” He takes away all the stress of what size truck I need, he takes away the stress of moving. He goes above and beyond helping customers, always. He is the most professional, friendly, and caring associate I've ever met. I hope UHaul appreciates him as much as I do. We didn't know until we arrived at our destination, but there was some kind of leak in the roof or side that cause many of our items to become wet. We had one of our bookcases swell and crack due to the moisture.

My experience was overall very good as far as all of the equipment. However, the gentleman that assisted me in placing my order was not very friendly. He just had a look of annoyance on his face during the whole process. He did not say anything rude, however it really appeared as if I was bothering him by the look on his face and his body language. I asked him if he was having a bad day and he confirmed that he was. I understand that we all have bad days, but in customer service this could really affect your customers. i was reluctant to continue and almost went to another location.

The customer service at the front counter was disappointing. There were 2 customers at the counter (including me) and 3 staff. As I was connecting with 1 of the staff members to pick up my UHaul truck, it was clear the staff member didn't know what they were doing. I had completed the online check in prior to arriving at the store yet while at the counter, I still had to provide all of my information that I inputted through the online check in - which made the online check in pointless. As I asked what the point of the online check in was, the other staff member helping the customer beside me kept interjecting with snappy responses to my questions and that continued on for the entire check out process. This was frustrating because I wasn't at her counter yet she was interjecting with rude responses while I was working with the staff member that was at my counter. This coupled with her helping the other customer created a loud atmosphere. During this, the 3rd staff member entered (male) and was talking on the phone. He came to the front counter, next to the staff member I was working with (now that makes 3 staff and the same 2 customers) and was talking on the phone about private information very loudly. I could hear him speaking on the phone at the front counter getting angry at whoever he was speaking with because the company hadn't given him his holiday pay since July 2020 and he was saying things like if they want him to go part time then he would shut down the Ann Arbor store part time. His conversation on the phone continued - this was unprofessional and should not have taken place in front of customers let alone at the front counter. All of this commotion really made it so loud at the front counter that I could barely hear the staff member in front of me speaking. All I kept thinking was how the whole experience was terrible customer service. When I finally checked out, they rudely told me my truck was ready at the front and the key was in the truck. I go to the truck and no one accompanied me to do a check of the vehicle to make sure everything was okay or to show me what I needed to know about how to use the truck. They also didn't prepare the vehicle for me - there was frozen ice on both side mirrors so I had to go back into the store to ask someone to come clear it off before I could drive off the lot for obvious safety reasons (and it was a mixture of snow and rain outside at said time). Also, while I had the truck, I continuously received alerts that stated “service tire; monitor system” with a blinking service light the entire time I had the truck. This was a VERY poor experience and usually I don't write reviews, but I felt this was necessary given I spent over over $700 for this to move.

The uhaul point of sale system appears to be terrible and slow. Not the employees fault, but it really slows things down. Also, do you really need my drivers license for every rental? I rented dolly ans paid a deposit. Why do you need my license for that?
