The prices are insane; I rented for one day, did about 150km and was charged 150 CAD; U-Haul should really consider having fix prices / day, but this doesn't make sense. I will not rent again when I need to move furniture

The truck should beep when on reverse gear. I was actually surprised that there is no beep. Nowadays I never saw a truck without beep on reverse. Its mandatory I guess . Other than that if you get Bluetooth it will be great so we can listen music as well from our phone. Overall experience excellent

Helpful staff, safe neighbourhood to leave your car while using their truck. Good store for purchasing the things you forgot, like rope and gloves. Lucky I had a stepstool because the truck step was too high for me. Also, a bonus for me, the U-Haul app is user-friendly so I saved a little money by being able to return it before morning.

I went to the location asked him that I needed to rent to one van go they are all booked up. They don't have any reserve one online. I reserved one online picked up the same band that was sitting there. That's very bad customer service.

The people at U-Haul there were super helpful. I had reserved the room for a week as well as truck truck. You know is where it is but it turns out after all that I was having a friend move stuff and I trying to do this for a little while bailiff throwing stuff away with the process of trying to sit through that, but everything you guys are great. Yeah you're super super accommodating and I would definitely recommend you guys.

First of all there was no light in the locker room and no lock and we have to walk back and forth few times to the service desk. The online instructions are not clear and some what confusing.

the van was very dirty inside and outside. Garbage in the cab. They tried to charge for a windsheild chip which is absolutly not my fault, and is simply a hazzard of having a vehicle on the road in the winter...or anytime really. The representatives were rude about it

I had a earlier rental that was changed by the website and I wasn't notified via email, it turned out to be cancelled when I was going to pick up my rental. Ended up wasting half a day, waiting to get another rental. I think this is my last uhaul purchase for awhile.

you advertise your rates based on a 24 hour rental but yet you ask for a return time so you can resell the same vehicle and double dip not a good business practice. Should have the ability to prorate the rental if you ate reselling the vehicle out the dame day.

My personal information with crossed with other customers . I started receiving emails for other storage users. I called and this was corrected. After that I received posted mail to my home address for another customer. I then came in and cancelled my unit.

- booked over the phone, the rep booked truck and storage for October 30 instead of September 30 as instructed - couldn't even get the first month free promotion because the original booking was a mistake, and there were no uhaul trucks available in the entire Metro Vancouver area for our moving day so had to pay for both storage and more expensive truck - the storage I booked myself online was not available on site because there was a lock on it and the staff didn't even know who it belongs to - staff asked me to check the storage myself, after the long walk there and back I told them it's locked and they wanted me to walk all the way to show them in person again - after speaking to management, staff gave me a key to the lock, and after driving the truck to the storage, realized the key doesn't even fit in there, and had to get a different and smaller storage - wasted over an hour on moving day to be able to access the online reserved and checked in self-storage - no idea why this isn't a fully automated system with a smart combination lock that automatically changes between clients to ensure more security, and have the one remote staff controlling it all online to avoid all these issues

I often use any U-Haul near me whenever I move or need storage space. The U-Haul at 84th Ave in Surrey has been a very positive experience. The staff is always helpful and kind. What is the purpose of taking reservation if you don't keep the reservation? I booked my 10x10 units two weeks ago, only to find out upon arrival with the truck to be unloaded, that Uhaul office didn't have 10x10 units available. One day before the check-in date, I received a message, which asked me to check-in online and get a free lock for my unit, but when I clicked on that link (same day it was received), I was prompted to complete my check-on process in person. My company has a long history of working with Uhaul mainly on truck rental side, so I was to hear from the Uhaul employee that storage reservation, actually doesn't reserve the unit. Then why do you have the reservation process at all?!!

5 years and no mouse or any damage to sensitive things like books, safe secure, well maintained and mouse insects free facility, i locked it and picked items after 5 years, only thing to clean was a newly made spider net - thanks for keeping it nice and clean - people stuff matters and no body can do better than U-Haul.

Staff were alright when I needed to figure things out. However, the units are not clean. Some weather stripping would go a long way considering the units are outdoors. Any wind blows dirt and cotton into the units. I was greatly disappointed in the shape my possessions came out of the locker in. Everything was absolutely filthy.

Was called 3 years ago informing me incorrectly that my locker contents had been broken into and my belongings gone. It turned out it was another locker. Perhaps some attention to detail before notifying someone 6 000 kilometers away incorrectly and causing great stress. Never an apology from UHaul.

I NEVER stepped foot onto the property. I cancelled my booking before I even had a chance to use it. I was getting collection notices saying they were going to charge me and charge a late fee!! I find it appauling that A) I could not get through to anyone to advise them for weeks!!! B) that the staff is that out of touch and C) that customer service said I had to be the one to contact the surrey location when all the calls were getting redirected from calling the surrey location's number to customer service!! BRUTAL organization and will not rent from Uhaul again due to this poor service!

Our storage wasn't available on the day as booked. We were very upset and frustrated because we had given notice of moving out. However, there was a gentleman he allowed us to view a storage that was available, it was ok but smaller. He gave us a discount and apologize for the inconvenience. Kulwinder Rai has ZERO customer service skills. I used this locker for about 10 months. On the second month I missed a payment due to confusion of the date. 2 days later he wrote me an email threatening to auction my locker and wrote a very embarrassing and threatening letter to my nephew. 2DAYS. It was his very first communication. Of course I immediately corrected the mistake and was not late again. People make errors, his heavy handed approach and ignorance is completely uncalled for. I DO NOT RECOMMEND using this business. If you are unsure, look up all the comments about this guy on google under ratings and comments. And this has been reported to Uhaul who don't seem to want to do anything about it.

Reserved large storage box not available after all .. lock in door … mistake made somewhere.. so the staff were very kind to give me two small portable unitsBUT one unit was made of wood and so warped it took 2 men 15 minutes to bang, pound, kick , hammer and eventually force it shut! I couldn't believe what I was seeing! Now I am worried I won't be able to access it.. that my belongings are in a leaky unit. That I hv to move my stuff again and again .. I would hv gone elsewhere but I had to stay at 84th as I had a truck and my helpers leaving .. please get me a larger storage unit.. that closes.. and some help to transfer my belongings as now it i don't hv a truck not helpers :) :). Due to the fact that I was moving from the Osoyoos area and made all the arrangements to get there in good time and have the arrangements made weeks in advance .. When I got to the facility I was sent to a unlt and after unloading a good amount of the truck was told they didn't have a 10x10x9unit for me even though I had confirmation on my phone that I had showed them .. I then had to find somewhere to store my stuff... So NO it was not a good experience !!!!!

I reserved a 10 x 10 storage locker in August and was phoned by your staff in September if I could move in earlier which I couldnt. I was told if I couldnt book that day I would lose the locker. So I went in and booked a larger one. I called the day before i was to move in and was told the one I booked wasnt available and another 1 bedroom one was. I said it was fine if I was a one bedroom. I came with the truck and the locker was so small. I was told this is all they had. I asked if there was anything else and the gentleman found one on the other end of surrey. I was charged mileage. The other location is dirty has one elevator and 3 other people moving in. Im not impressed with the service at this location and will not recommend it or uhaul. Changing the storage locker size saying I shouldnt have been able to book it is not good enough.

First of all, I hope this is the only location that I had a bad experience with your service. I rented a unit, paid it and when it's time for me to put some stuffs in there, the unit was occupied, argued a bit, wasted time arguing to give us another unit, after 0ver 3 hours of dealing, gave us a new unit but we have to clean it ourselves and we were soaking wet from going in and out of the office. I hope this experience won't happen to anyone or again to us.

The driveways in the facility are often blocked by UHaul vehicles parked there, especially the equipment drop off area. Frustrating accessing unit sometimes. Unit had no lighting nor a plug point. There were a couple of plug points in section C, but they were locked!

Please advise your staff to get off their phones when a truck is returned. Your employee did not seem interested in talking to me. When sending pictures for review be the same as what I'm renting. I had pictures with graffiti on the truck, but the truck I rented had no graffiti on it. Not very organized. I'd have to have a fantastic deal to consider ever using U-Haul again.

I originally booked a 10x10 unit but later made adjustments to my reservation over the phone and was told I would be receiving access to a 10'x20' unit. When I arrived I was told it would be 10'x10', which negatively impacted my storage process. Also, I moved into the unit in the evening and the light for the lockup was out of order at the time, forcing me to move into the unit in the dark.

For most of the time we were there the road in front of my locker was torn up forcing us to get super muddy every time we went. Then we received an email that our fees were being upped for an unknown reason.

Awful experience! I gave them my credit card information so they can charge me automatically, but instead I received an email every month saying that I was late on my payment and I had to pay late fees. In order to fix it I had to go 35 minutes away from home to pay in person. On top of all that, when I retrieved my client's things from storage, the mattress (the most important thing in the storage unit) was wet and with mold. The person in the front desk was totally overwhelmed with customers and was no help and insisted in charge me the next month Don't go to this location

This is a reasonably priced, clean and convenient place to store belongings. The staff are friendly and helpful. The only thing I didn't like (and this a Uhaul in general, not this particular location) is the way that they bill. It's so confusing that I ended up being charged a late fee even though my account balance showed a $0 balance owing.

I took photos of numerous safety violations inside and outside the building. Pipe piles and sheet steel roofs laying by entrance doors to my building not marked and I know I brushed the pile of steel corrugated roofing laying on the ground and was injured on my leg is a result. The day I was set to move out of my locker the lights surrounding my locker would not work so I couldn't remove my items. Maintenance Man was rude to me when I talked to him in passing. He was mad because I didn't know I need one of U-Haul locks on my locker. Next time I came to place items in my locker there was a second lock on my locker door saying if you want to access your locker you must come to the office and pay $25 for the added lock or access won't be granted (I have a pic of the note he left). When I when't to pay for the new lock I had to wait 45 mins for the office staff to track down where the key was because nobody knew where it was.. The rows of roadway Inside the lot that surrounds the building were plugged up with u haul trucks, vans and trailers making it hard to get to your building because other renters had their cars parked blocking the road off entirely making you drive around looking for a way to exit . I've rented from other storage facilities and have never had any problems before. Wouldn't rent from that location again ever I'm not a hard person to please and not a grumpy person I'm 63 years old and am easy going but this place did make me a happy camper at all. When I rented the unit I told him that it would be for a month only.I picked up the stuff a day early.I told the lady in the office I was picking up my stuff and asked her if I needed to check out.She said no just go ahead.Four days after I picked up my stuff I got emailed a late notice so I had to make a special trip to go tell the guy that I picked up my stuff four days earlier.I probably need to use a storage unit in December and I am having second thoughts about using yours again.

I had a hard time deciding on how to answer #'s 3 and 6 as I have not yet had a chance to explore your facility or actually move anything into my storage unit yet. The office area was clean and at first glance appeared to be well maintained. The parking situation and construction is less than ideal. In fact, I almost decided to go with PS Storage instead due to ease of approaching and parking at the office. I'm on the fence yet (due to my unfamiliarity with the location) if I would recommend this particular uhaul location to a friend, but I would recommend the Nordel location as I've rented trailers and vans from them in the past and have friends who are long time storage renters there. UHaul as an organization/business has been good to deal with overall every time I've contacted them.

The process of attaining my unit was fine. When it came to moving my items in, it was very dark in the unit. I had no idea there were no light bulbs in the overhead lighting. Luckily my son had a small flashlight in his pocket.

All the stuff inside was covered in drywall from the ceiling. Also small black remnants that look like mouse dropping on all my stuff. The top of the door frame is missing and when I told the staff about it, it never got repaired. There's no lights in the unit as well. The concrete walls weren't very clean and light was visible from the outside through the cracks on the wall. I would not go here again.

They failed to mention that there is construction going on, so the unit was not accessible with a vehicle because the road is all torn up. We had to load a trolley and slowly pull it to the unit along a narrow (4 feet wide path, trying to avoid the huge 6 foot deep trench that ran along beside the whole building.

Your website offered a Free $12 Lock with online orders for storage but once I got to the facility your customer service rep was not helpful & refused to even look into this, he refused to give me the Free lock. Of course I had no other choice but to Pay him the Lock because I had All my belongings & didnt want to delay everyone else waiting.

I moved from Winnipeg to Surrey Vancouver. The communication was zero between the two facilities. Apparently the date for the storage unit was entered incorrectly by Winnipeg. When I arrived I had no storage unit!! This was a horrible situation to be in right now. Luckily the lady here at the UHaul in Vancouver called around for us. When I did get to the UHaul facility where my belongings are now the service was amazing (store located at 84th Avenue in Surrey the General Manager Kulwinder Rai) you need more like him. I have never made a move like this so I did not know what to expect. Now I know I should have had more paperwork and clarified more information. I depended on your staff and I guess I should not have. In total I paid over $3 000 to move and this was very a stressful time and UHaul did not help.

While we book our storage 2 days ahead. Delta location front desk not even check reservation paper and rent out our reserved space. She simply says she rent out the space and let us to call head office to deal with her irresponsibility. We get transfered three times and eventually find a smaller storage than reservation. Very disappointed of this miscommunication. We drive all way back to Delta and Surrey. with full truck. Waste energy, time, and stressful. We need to return truck to a different location. in 96ave. Their rental sign is so tiny. We drive pass a few times too. It is not thought wisely for ppl to drop off their Uhaul. drivers are not able to see it.

Unit Smelled bad, moldy, dirty. Water damage from pipes, & pipes took a fraction of unit. My boxes/contents have moisture. Glad to be gone. broken, restricted access during open hours. mouse traps?!
