It is INSANE that you refuse to provide a spare with your trailers. We drove to Alpine TX, for miles and miles, hours and hours, with spotty to no cell service in the middle of frickin nowhere, and we are told by your reps, "sorry NO SPARE. You have to call roadside assistance." How in the hell are we supposed to do that if we blow a tire between Ozona and Ft Stockton? We spent $150 of our own money on a spare so we could make sure not to be stranded. Your "no spare" policy is ridiculous not to mention dangerous. Exceptions should be made for travels across remote areas.

we made reservation online for 10 to 6... we were out of town until 2:00 pm and not able to pick up at 10 a.m. Unfortunately, U-Haul employees cancelled our order without notification. Luckily for us, they still had trucks available. More communication with customers would be best to avoid the above

The equipment we requested (dolly) was not available for our move and there wasn't adequate staff to handle the volumes of people there. We waited in line almost 45 minutes just to get help.

Truck was not ready on time. I had a mobile up scheduled for 630 but when I tried to go inside retrieve the key the front and side doors to the building were locked. The line was all the way to the door and the customers inside told me to go around to the side to try and get in when someone left. While standing on the side of the building in 100 degree Texas heat the employees working at the counter who were right next to the window snd could clearly see me along with at least 6 other customers outside ignored us as we knocked in the door and window attempting to show them our phones with the message saying “skip the line and pick up your key”. When one of the inside customers was let out of the building we attempted to tell the woman employee we just needed to grab our key but she practically rolled her eyes ignoring me and closed the door in my face before once again locking us out and all of the indoor customers inside the building. Me and the other customers locked outside could not believe the rudeness of the employees to not only ignore us but to close the door right in my face as I pleaded with her to just give us the keys, which were literally hanging right beside her. After waiting outside for almost an hour after my scheduled pick up a customer inside got fed up and decided to leave and unlocked the door from the inside. Once this happened acme and the other, now up to ten customers, stuck outside squeezed inside. The same woman employee quickly came and got upset and locked the door once more, locking out one of the customers who stepped away to make a phone call. The same woman then ignored everyone again as we begged her to just give us the keys. Another gentlemen quickly came and apologized and tried to give us the keys as best he could. Overall this experience made me never want to Deal with uhaul again. I have never experience such horrible customer service as I did as this location. To be ignored by employees when talking to them and have them shut the door in my face practically pushing me back with the door is something I have never experience before. I understand the store can get busy and can be overwhelming with the amount of customers but all they had to do was send someone out to explain or ask what we needed would've saved everyone so much time and stress. If I were the manager I would have fired this lady a long time ago. Most of the employees here were fine but she made the entire experience unbearable and she should not be working in customer service. She would be perfect as a guard for a correctional facility though! I also never got my $50 guarantee of having my truck ready on time and am looking to get that since you all had the nerve to charge for a late returnable after giving me an unnecessarily late pickup.

Very aged trailer, bad tires-tread came off one of them while traveling. Upon changing tire, broken leaf spring became visible on right side, which had been broken for awhile given rust at break. Roadside technician could not believe this trailer was rented to me, or still in operation.

I reserved it on line for 7:30am. The store however did not open until 9am. I never got a notice about this. The woman who checked me in was less than friendly and basically told me that I should have looked at the store hours

Interior of the truck had gum stuck to drivers seat. Gummy worm melted in cup holder. Passenger seat had what looked like a milkshake spilled and left to dry. Rental process was smooth and went well.

The contactless pickup AND return were both nightmares. Picking up, the bar code has been peeled off the front of building, and it took 20 minutes to find someone to show me the other barcode in back. I then couldn't find the first 2 trucks and had to spend another 20 min searching for the 3rd truck. Gas was below 3/8 of tank when picked up. Returning was even worse. The uhaul dashboard was freezing and wouldn't accept my return photos. Spent 40 min standing in parking lot waiting for photos to be accepted. I went inside to do in person drop off and the lady at counter was unhelpful and referred me to the back lot where it took approaching 3 different employees in order to get out of there. Horrible experience and much longer and more complicated than expected.

Be more organized. My reserved equipment was not there. Changed location pick up in last hour. Did all pre check possible, took almost an hour to get trailer. Personnel were nice. System was worthless. Should be less than 5 minutes with complete reservations.

Picking up and dropping off was incredibly easy. We walked into the store and after a few minutes of checking in we were directed to the side door where our truck was waiting for us. When we dropped it off there was extremely clear signage of where to go. I parked it, answered some questions and was on my way. It was a great experience and if we need a U-Hual in Austin again, then we will definitely be back.

Everyone at U-Haul Ben White is excellent! The staff is sweet, friendly and ALWAYS helpful. The booking staff inside is VERY experienced, patient and knowledgeable. I run a small local business and having the trucks on time is imperative and I count on this Uhaul location because they are THE BEST!

I was scheduled for pickup on Monday. The Ben White location was not ready. The moving company had to come back on Tuesday, resulting in a $200 rescheduling fee charged to me. Ben White does not answer the phone, and has not responded to my inquiry about their payment of the rescheduling fee.

I made the reservation online, and it said I could just pick up the keys without going to the counter. This was not the case. I looked everywhere, and could not find where the Mobile Pickup was prompting me to find the key. Then it went on yo the next step and I couldn't go back. I called and waited for a representative for 30 minutes, only for her to tell me she didn't know what the online pick up was taking about either. I waited in line for another 30 minutes to talk to someone at the counter, only to find out there is no mobile pickup at that location. The lady at the counter had the keys the whole time, and had the gall to tell me I should have skipped the line and gone up to the side of the counter. This location was run poorly, and falsely offered the online pickup. I wasted over an hour trying to get this done, on a moving day that was very stressful. I'll never use uhaul again.

The obese man with a speech impediment made my girlfriend very uncomfortable when she returned the vehicle. He asked her to remove her glasses and gave an excessive amount of unwanted compliments. This location was awesome - our car didn't have the right towing equipment so the team worked quickly to hook up the right one. They responded well to long lines inside and brought in more people when needed. However - my experience with Uhaul overall has been awful. My reservations have been changed with little notice. My requests for equipment and timing have been denied with little notice. I have been on the phone with Uhaul (scheduling office, not local locations) for 3 hours at a time on 2 separate locations and have been bumped from the holding line to different locations around Texas, representatives at which have not been able to help me and have transferred me to be on hold with my preferred location once again. Representatives have been rude and unhelpful. I have had to completely change travel plans because Uhaul was unaccommodating. Uhaul needs to fix these issues to maintain its status as a go-to moving company in the future. I am wholly displeased and will avoid using Uhaul in the future at all costs.

I'm very disappointed with the UHaul representative behind the counter, Roy Amaya. He was rude, abrupt and did not seem to care about the customers he was assisting. He did not answer any of my questions clearly. What happened to providing excellent or great customer service, or better yet, treating people as humans or even with a hint of compassion. Not to mention, he had the audacity to charge me for the one month of storage even after I told him that my truck rental came with a one month FREE storage unit rental as a promo that UHaul is having that I agreed to upon reserving the truck. He said he will not honor the promo because their location is already at 93 % capacity and that he will only honor it if their location is in boy at 70 % capacity. The one of the most ridiculous reasoning I've heard of! I want a refund for the month storage unit I was charged for!!!

The person behind the counter who assisted me was rude and did not answer any of my questions clearly. He did not give a clear direction as to where the storage unit he assigned to me. I also mentioned to him that when I made my original reservation, the person who assisted from Oklahoma named Ronnie mentioned to me that I was eligible for a one month FREE storage unit rental for renting a 10feet truck so I reserved a truck with UHaul. However, this person behind the counter at 304 E Ben White Ave location, responded that he will NOT honor that offer because they were 93 % full and charged me for the one month storage unit! This should have been a FREE one month rental and should be honored unless you are at 100 % full capacity for your storage unit. Otherwise, he could have recommended another location nearby who would HONOR the deal! I want to be refunded for that one month rental car was charged. So disappointing!!!

I choose the mobile pickup hoping not waiting in the line but the experience was terrible. The QR code for location wasn't visible, the truck wasn't easy to find and when I found it was stuck behind another truck. I had to go to the desk several times so what is the point of having a mobile checkin if you spend the same or more time compared to the standard pickup?

Storage unit was closed out on the 4th but I was called to come drive 30 minutes away to do a walk through of the unit. I already spent almost $1800 to rent a uhaul truck to move to the area now just wasting gas to come there for a walk through that I need to be there for. Not feeling too happy

All the employees who work there getting the trucks and doing the running around for the logistics of everything were fantastic. Good attitudes, nice, funny, and helpful. The people behind the counter seemed overwhelmed, but it was busy and customers were getting a bit annoyed at the wait I think. Sometimes they really need a third person at the desks, but overall the experience was great and I would use this location again.

Base problem as in other locations not enough front end counter resources to handle peak hour with many clients waiting in line 11:00 am with only 1 rep at front. Loading and back end properly staffed, friendly and efficient. If renting for a day and client waiting for an hour rep should readjust return time to when client is being serviced not original time reserved. Had to interact with manager at return to get proper charge as time reflected in system says I was past return time by two hours when it was returned in reality less than 24 hours after rental.

I had planned a pickup after hours with the 24/7 option. Apparently that was not really offered at this location. Several people in the long line that formed when they did open had this same problem. This delayed our moving experience.

Our U-Haul didn't have a working AC and the 100 plus degree wether we have it was a hot move for us. Also the passenger side window wouldn't role down witch made it even more difficult. Y'all should look in the that for the next customer so they don't have to experience that.

It would be helpful to have the U-haul rep go over everything you'll need as accessories for towing before getting out to the trailer. I would have rather purchased what I needed while at the counter rather than going back and forth figuring it out.

Key did not work in truck during mobile pickup. Had wrong truck and location attached to that key. They searched the lot and found correct truck. Guy said it had 1/2 tank and to return it w 1/2 tank. When returned they said truck had full tank when I got it. I only drove it 10 miles and it was returned with 1/2 tank so there was NO way it could have had a full tank. Owner was outside driving forklift could have to the guy to accept it but made me go inside (this was now the 4th time I had to go inside) guy inside fixed it but it didn't have to be that painful. Owner was worthless couldn't even make a management decision on the 1/2 tank of gas issue.

If you need a moving truck or care about your safety, do not use this location. This was the worst customer experience I've ever had. I made a reservation a week in advance for the only available slot - Saturday at 6:30pm and checked in online. My boyfriend and I arrived 45 minutes before the store closing time only to find the entry doors locked. We had to enter through a side door to even speak to anyone. With a line of 15 plus people and only two employees, we stood in line for over an hour and 45 minutes. The staff moved very slowly and shady side dealings behind the desk were occurring with a back of house employee requesting the young man checking people out pay him immediately via paypal. One employee approached the line claiming "we would be lucky if we even got a truck and the manager approved shutting doors early" even though it was confirmed everyone in line had reservations. Once we reached the front of the line, myself and everyone behind me, was denied service and met with extremely rude and unpleasant treatment by the entire staff. We had to plead with the staff to give us our reserved rental trucks. I was personally discriminated against by the young male employee - he contemplated going through with my transaction asking me if the male behind me was with me. The young male employee verbally assaulted my boyfriend and I and physically threatened my boyfriend claiming he would cancel the transaction and take both of us outside to the parking lot; leaving us without our reserved truck and our safety threatened. The staff cared more about leaving work before closing time than actually helping the people who took all the proper steps to maintain a moving truck. The haggling that took place with the staff and the slow moving on their part caused us to push moving back two hours and ultimately miss the business hours of our storage unit, causing me to keep the truck overnight and ultimately face the financial consequences of a staff who didn't prioritize their customers or their jobs. The staff here has piss poor attitudes, doesn't care about you or your safety and reservations mean absolutely nothing. I will never return here and neither should you. The best improvement this location can make is closing their doors and saving the community from poor treatment and threats.

Great staff when I dropped off the truck picking it up was a nightmare. They were slow and rude. Then even locked the door at 6:15pm and wouldn't let anyone else in the building even though they didn't close till 7:00pm. People starting coming with reservations around 6:20-6:30 but they were told the place was already closed.

Initially I booked a storage unit at the Address 9001 I 35 10 minutes away from downtown Austin. the afternoon shift on the afternoon of July 29, the staff on duty that afternoon was rude lied and said he couldn't find our reservation, and there was nothing he could do I asked if he can call the customer service center he said he doesn't do that. I called back customer service the agent was great she booked me at the 304 Benwhite location the staff was great had no problem I use Uhaul whenever I have to and never had a problem, so I really will like to let the site manager at the 9001 I 35 location know about the young man who worked that evening shift on July 29th. Thanks to great customer service at the contact center and the site I ended up using..

Dollys are new and plentiful. Building is clean and 80 degrees. This is a very well run storage place. The truck rental next door is a completely different story.

the facility was clean and secured the unit came sealed with pest control in place to prevent any problems. each unit is access coded ,there is a multi height loading dock ,plenty of flat dollies and lumber style dollies that mattress and tables can be transported with and a canopy over the dock. the staff was very helpful. exceeded expectations.

The price for storage was very high, and I did not appreciate the smell of pesticides all over everything. But the facilities are clean and well maintained.

It would have been nice to know access for loading was restricted so early in evening. Could not use double doors for second load. With homeless population close by it is worth it for security

The facility was ok, but the staff were honestly incompetent and rude. Jessica was rude to me a few times when I was checking in, and she got me set up at the wrong storage unit. That wasted about an hour of my movers time that they could have spent unloading my truck. And the older lady was not very helpful, either. I went over there to check out, and it looked like she was busy. So I waited for her to finish. I couldn't help but notice it was taking awhile for her to wrap up what I thought she was doing on the computer. Turns out, she was dorking around on her cell phone and was completely oblivious to the fact that a customer was waiting on her. The location was okay, but the front desk staff are rude, aloof to customers and don't seem to know how to do their jobs right. Either re train them, or get new staff, please.

Wasn't aware unit was up a flight of stairs until getting to site. Worker at location was able to switch for a unit with elevator access and was very helpful.

Long-time storage customer, never late with payment. Rented trucks and trailers for move in, moving storage contents, and storage checkout. The alarm at the Ben White facility is deafening and incessant. Why can't this be disabled or another method of alert used? It is a problem for individuals with sound sensitivities. Treated like dirt in the office. Didn't expect to be treated like royalty in the office but still...a little courtesy/professionalism goes a long way.

First I can from Ohio they out the wrong hitch onto my truck then they messed up my whole reservation got here for charged for locks twice bcuz my original storage space they didn't honor so I ended up with two small storage spaces which all of my things didn't fit in them then I was told that all of my reservations were the same for here and the drop off was for another part of Texas nobody knows about then was told I had to pay $250 not bcuz if some mistake I made but from the original person who completed the the paperwork did what they wanted and told us it would be changed by the time we arrived but I wasn't. So in short the hitch wrecked my truck, my storage space wasn't what I was given and had to pay for two separate locks because of it, then the drop off and storage was in the same place but when we got here Ohio didn't correct the mistake and so now I have to pay for something that wasn't my fault and the clerks inside the store were very rude and acted as if we robbed them of fees when I paid what was told to me and nobody told me about another Dee once I arrived I doesn't say in my bill that I have a balance due. I'm very upset and when I can move into my new place no I will not recommend this service to anyone I'm so disappointed 

I drove directly to U-Haul from Greenville, SC, to meet movers at a particular time and was beyond stressed. There was a minor mishap with the online reservation for my storage unit but Caleb was AMAZING! He was really sensitive to my situation and was extremely kind, helpful, and accommodating. He really came through for me in this highly stressful situation. The facility was impeccably clean and carefully monitored, I felt very safe here. I recommend the services that this location provides, particularly the exemplary customer service. Thank you, Caleb!!

Pulled up to begin unloading items to place in storage and was told by an employee I am not allowed to park where I was. I explained we were taking items into our storage unit which was why I was parked up front by the door leading inside the building. He stated where I was parked was "their" parking and customers can't park there. When I asked where we should move he stated he didn't know but I can't stay where I'm at. Another vehicle pulled up and parked close to the entrance to begin unloading to which the employee told them "you can't park here". We both asked again where we should park and the employee began to get frustrated only stating "I don't know but not here". We were not blocking the flow of traffic for other customers or other employees to move trailers, cars , trucks etc. Overall I was rather shocked by the employee's statements and lack of help to know where we should park to unload.

The elevator broke after my first trip to the second floor. The staff was difficult to reach, did not answer the phone or assistance button until a few tries. Was told it'd be days until they'd get it fixed and offered no assistance to help me get the rest of my belongings upstairs.

Somebody broke into my storage unit and threw my clothes/items all over the unit. Nothing was stolen, but it was certainly less than ideal. The only saving grace was Mandi, as she was super helpful and understanding through the whole process. She deserves a pay raise and promotion. Uhaul as a whole was not helpful with the process of reviewing what happened to my unit, but that wasn't Mandi's fault. She was handcuffed by a horrible policy.

There were a few really tiny flying insects (I think gnats?) But other than that it's a very good storage unit. Well lit, easy to access the elevator, and dollies and carts were available for use. Moving in was seemless.

I rent from haul fairly often and have never encountered such rudeness, unfriendly, unhelpful people. The manager was the rudest, snd when I ask who the manager was he spoke up and said "Is there something you need"? I said no I need a business card with name, he in turn gave me a full sheet of locations but no name. I just opened a business in Austin, tx as well as Dallas, Tx., but I will never go back to that BEN WHITE location again and will inform everyone of ALL the problems I encountered. U-haul sent a letter to my parents' address despite the fact that I am not the primary account holder, I never provided my parent's addres, and that our unit was already closed. This letter revealed very personal information that I never authorized U-Haul to reveal to anyone and as I never provided that address I need an answer as to why this was sent. There is no reason for U-Haul to have sent that letter or to have access to that address. Please provide a response to my lawyer.

I've used this location before, but right before the pandemic, summer of 2019, I moved, not renewing apartment lease because my Dad was dying, left town. Then, car broke down, traded it in fast. So busy, frustrated & exhausted. I had to store all my belongings. No full-time job after returning from Dad's funeral. Someone went in my unit, stole an item that I know it wasn't me. Only I have the key and no one else. Rented for 2 years because I had no home of my own. Whoever is going around the units sneaking around when manager is gone stealing from the ones stored for so long should know I found out because I'm very particular of how I preserve my belongings. The item was permanently tied in knots with a large item because I wanted it there always!!! My item was cut and yanked off by someone. I have to forgive the soul who did this, so God will forgive me, too. I don't know if manager will believe me. I've been through enough already.

I truly appreciated the climate control. Stored wooden furniture for a little over a year and was in the same condition I put it in as. Facility was always clean and every staff member from office to personnel in the halls was always friendly and happy to help with anything, the few time I had to ask. Maybe a national chain but feels warm and personable like a small business.
