The customer service was great! The ladies really know how to provide quick friendly and knowledgeable service.

CARRIE HI canceled this storage unit because I found a dead bird in my other unit. A dead bird, that had been there for weeks, in the same storage unit as my couch, my bed, and other furniture. I've used y'all for years, but this was absolutely ridiculous. If a bird can get into my storage unit, and then die, that's incredibly messed up. It ruined hundreds of dollars of my life. Things that I can't afford to replace. I like U-Haul, but I can't imagine recommending you or signing back up. This was literally the worst storage experience of my life. Thank you for requesting my feedback. Typing all of this has made me realize that it might be better served as a Google review.

MAXWELL A | Expérience généraleOngoing issues with street people, and the facility worked to combat this & improve experience over the years.I was there too long, so I saw a lot! The reason I marked no on question 1 has to do with my having been at this facility for so long & having encountered so many vagrants. It was worse about 5 years ago and has very much improved in the past few years. Caveat is that my unit was right by the entry, which I very much liked, yet also increased my encounters with others. Most encounters were positive & with other renters. Most were to give directions to the main office, because *everyone thinks the office is in the main storage facility. Needs a big sign :-) The facility made lots of security improvements over time, and the results were very notable. Sadly, the street peeps had recently stolen most of the moving carts. I have no doubt that it's been expensive to keep up the facility vs vagrant damage. I have & would recommend this facility.

GEOFFREY SI experienced a lot of trouble with the Uhaul App. The staff was very helpful in resolving my issues although it took many calls to do so. Also, two of my pods came with half the pads promised.
Michael NThe U-Haul truck we rented had multiple issues-first, the passenger side door lock was completely missing, which was a security concern. Even worse, the ramp in the back wouldn't retract, making it impossible to finish loading. We had to call roadside assistance, which took hours to resolve. Altogether, these problems set us back nearly 4 hours. For a company that prides itself on reliability, this was incredibly frustrating.
FRANCISCO BInside was clean and organized. Parking lot and pickup area was confusing. Hard to find a place to take the required truck picture. A tie down strap I wanted to purchase was not in their system. They could not ring it up. I had to go elsewhere to purchase.
MATTHEW KService was excellent but trailer I rented had a bad tire that blew out in a remote location. U-haul Roadside Assistance was very responsive and although there was a long wait the contractor who provided the assistance was excellent. My journey was completed with no further issues.

JANE IMake sure to check the gas levels before sending people off and saying you can get a credit at the drop off location. Not true.
EMILY JIt was difficult upon arriving because I didn't know where to go and there are no signs other than storage signs. So although I arrived early and walked around trying to find the truck and couldn't, I ended up being 10 min late and my reservation was cancelled. Also was overcharged on my bank statement compared to the receipt that I got. Not happy

MONICA L | Premières impressionsMidway through the drive from Albuquerque to Austin the check engine light went on, and remained on for the duration. At that point we were getting terrible MPG resulting in many more stops for gas and money spent.
AUDREY MIt was so easy to drop off. We pulled in and were directed to back the trailer into a spot. The service representative disconnected the trailer and told us the receipt would come via email. It was in my inbox by the time I got home.
Brian BHaving a vehicle with gas in it. I picked up a truck that didn't have enough gas to get to a gas station. I had to get a gas can and go to the gas station to get gas to fill up the truck. Totally unacceptable! I would not use this location again.

CRAIG MTechnician needs to check the transmission of the truck, I had bad experience on the road while driving. After the 3rd or 4th shift(car is really struggling to shift) or after 35 m/h, there is a hard hit somewhere in the transmission when you trying to reduce the speed.

HORTENCIA RI received my truck and pulled away and went to pick up my U-haul trailer. I was very disappointed the U-haul app had my trailer at a different location than the truck, I had not expected this. After I got my trailer, I discover two giant trailer bolts stuck in the tires. The trailer U-haul location stated they could not just exchange the truck, but I had to use road side assistance. I called raodside, and they said they would be there in 15 minutes. One hour and thirty minutes later, after no communication from roadside, I left to return to the originating U-haul to exchange my truck, which they did. I finally left with a usable truck 4 hours from the time I originally planned. From my initial pickup, to the exchange, to the return, never once could U-haul find my contract in their computer, which I made online well in advance. Then the tries to give me a $15 refund for my issues, and again U-haul staff couldn't find my contract or work their computers to issue the refund. After 20 minutes of wasted time, I gave up on the refund. I experienced incompetence at every step of this move with U-haul.

MICHAEL CI was under the impression all my packages and utility equipment would be in the 15' truck. I got my key went to the truck and saw it was blocked behind another truck. I had to wait til the other customer removed their truck. The truck after opening didn't have any of my supplies. I went back to the store and the lady gathered most of my items. The utility equipment was left outside the store entrance, along with other peoples items. It would be a better experience if my truck wasn't blocked, if my packaged supplies and utility equipment was inside the truck instead of my trying to figure out what items were mine or someone elses. I could have easily taken someone elses items or vice versa.

EMILIO SYou guys fucked up the drop off location. I had to drive 30 miles south to drop it off like wtf are you guys thinking. I called to try and change it and the dummy said they couldn't do it because of a lack of trucks but the dropoff location had 50 fucking trucks

ROSA AWe went up to your facility on Tuesday to preorder our cargo van for 3/12/2025. We ordered a 10 ft van with furniture dollys. When we arrived today, we were given a truck instead of cargo van and no dollys. When it was it was switched, they forgot to put it in the system therefore when we tried to return the van, they couldn't find the paperwork. We ended up having to go to another facility to get our dollys further delaying our job. We will not be using your Ben White location again

NICHOLAS FThe person who claimed to be the owner (a woman) was so incredibly mean. She for real made me cry. I had to extend my rental U-Haul bc my apartment wasn't ready yet and she called me a bitch saying I was harming other families from renting it. She said I was hurting other customers and that she was going to charge me $400 and $600 to cover the cost of other customers rentals. I am also the customer. This woman truly made me feel awful in a stressful time when I was just trying to do the right thing.
HALEY MSelf check-in was the most chaotic process why did I pre register if I had to register everything all over again when I got there? Seems redundant. Also, the guys there in the morning cleaning the trucks were so rude and not helpful at all.
Sophia MWas forced to switch to a more expensive AC unit on the day of my move after having reserved a cheaper non AC unit prior. I was told that the reserved unit was damaged, only after I had all my stuff waiting outside to be unloaded. And then had the price increased further in month 3. The whole thing felt predatory. Had no complaints with the facilities itself.

I'm not going to go into all of the issues but here is a few corporate members might be interested in. For one thing, they cut my lock on my unit. I was a few months behind but was in constant contact with the office. Then when I paid the past due rent they told me that it was my key that was incorrect and that I would have to pay hundreds of dollars to get a locksmith out there. I finally convinced them to cut the existing lock and low and behold my lock was sitting on the floor of the unit cut and my key fit it. There was no scheduled auction just possibly thieves that work there. This actually happened twice. U-Haul should return to me the prorated portion for this month of September since I moved out on the 17th and had to deal with this illegal actions twice. I'm just getting started. If you want more poor customer service behavior that I experienced you are welcome to call me.

I made a reservation for a storage unit with drive up access. Furthermore, I called the day before arriving to make sure everything was good to go. I was told everything was fine. I arrived with my truck ready to unload, only to be told they didn't have the 10×20x8 outside drive up access unit available. Very disappointed! What is the point of a reservation if it doesn't hold?

I wasn't strong enough to break it so I had to go out and get something from the stuff I was storing. Also, I didn't understand that I didn't have to put in my security code every time I went through the door (which is nice) and when I went back in to cut the tag, the alarms went off when I opened the unit. It was pretty scary lol It was early in the morning so Maria one of the cleaners was kind enough to come down from the floor above and help me. She walked me all the way down to the front door showed me how to put my code in and explained that I didn't need to enter it in again until I left. Which I just realized I think I forgot. 臘 Maybe the access could time out after 3 hours?

One of them, while I understand what she was TRYING to accomplish, was running two computers at once. Trying to check people in- but that was taking more time off the line of people waiting- even if we were at her station she was taking an exceptional amount of time to check us in. While running two computers/multiple customers at once, she was also answering people on the radio and helping run through those that had "app immediate access". It's a good idea and I understand what her intentions were but it was very inefficient.

The alarm in the building would be triggered frequently and then turned off, what is the point of that other than to annoy customers, no one ever showed up to see why the alarm was triggered. I cleaned out and cancelled my storage unit the day my monthly rent was due and was charged for another month of rent; that is pretty greedy of Uhaul. I have had some very poor dealings with U-Haul in the past, but this was just greedy and poor customer service.

They Always have equipment at the inside of the doorway to help haul your boxes and other stuff in or out. Temps are kept within stated range-but what works for your belongings may be too warm or too cold, depending, for you! Bring water; dress appropriately. Also, I rented a UHaul van-it was clean, & worked well for a reasonable price. If you're short,-I'm 5'1"-bring an extra cushion to sit on! The store has everything you might need, from locks to boxes, equipment, padding, tape, mattress cover, & so forth. Location convenient, parking can be an issue; but worked for me.

The storage facility kept all of my money and didn't refund me any of my money. So, basically they didn't give me back any of the money that I paid they don't do refunds.

I was first assigned one storage unit but when the employee walked me over to it, we were unable to get into the building for about 10-15 minutes due to issues with the access card and keypad. Once we finally got in, the assigned storage unit appeared to already be in use. So we had to go back to the desk to get re-assigned a new unit from scratch and I had to provide all my info once again. Then I finally got a proper unit after about about 45 minutes of waiting and shuffling around.

After moving all day and driving 3 hours to have the doors lock and have to leave my stuff unattended and could not lock my unit when I literally had my last dolley and tried to open the door at 10:02pm. I had to keep the truck which was an extra charge, go over miles which was an extra charge, and literally none of that was explained when getting it. I would have found a 24 hour facility and rather paid them. So much for the free storage if I paid 100 today. The Assistant Manger was excellent and helped me move something. He didn't have to and that is customer service. GM take the signs down to call you for after hour help. That is a lie. It is 11:30am the next day and you still have not call to follow up. Make the assistant the GM.

Jonathan L | Expérience généraleI booked and paid for a storage unit. When I got to the facility, access to my building was denied. I went inside for help. The supervisor tried my password AND his, but both were declined. He basically told me sorry but nothings working. I can't open the building where your unit is. I told him I had to be out of my apt by midnight so he needs to get me a unit in a building that will open. He did & Said this unit costs $30more. For my trouble, I didn't think I should be charged more. He told me I wouldn't this month, but they'd probably charge me next month. He also told me that I'd be able to get back in this building without a key bc sliding door will open. So, when I returned an hour or 2 later(at 8pm) I was unable to get inside bc they were closed and doors didn't just open up. No key, no code, 4 hours until I'm supposed to be out of my apartment & ive got 2 more loads to get insude this storage and a van to return! Yet I'm completely locked out with absolutely no one around to help me out, not even the customer service line could help. I was charged that extra $30, without giving my permission uhaul just decided to charge My card on file. The worst part- I had to keep van extra and I wasn't able to be out of my apartment in time therefore I git charged extra for the van and for my apartment. Completely unexceptible! Very bad experience!!

And safe need to wear name tags half of the staff members that do not have a name tags so the only way you can have if you have an issue is they describe the people what they're wearing what they look like is unprofessional to work at a job with no name tag . I got. The name from of the employee name Justin. But wouldn't give me the other employees name all I can do is give you a description of what she looks like. I truly feel U-Haul needs to hire better people with better customer service experience again my experience 12 1222 was bad very ugly !!!!!

He kept leaving for long periods of time and coming back to tell me it wasn't there. I finally found someone else to help me by walking back myself and it was the exact box I told them it was. The first guy said "oh I must have checked the wrong box". On another day I wasn't able to access my box at all because a worker parked a truck in front of it and took the keys and wouldn't be back to work until later.

I was told by the Owner at the Tacoma, WA UHaul that since I was given an UNSAFE trailer to rent when I went & picked it up 3 hours away in Yakima, WA & then had to drive to Graham, WA to pick up another trailer (& unload & reload what I had in the unsafe trailer by myself, that I would be given a $50 credit. I had already paid $184.11. I was rented a trailer with no brakes. Well, I never got this $50 credit & when I got to Austin, TX to drop off the trailer, I had to pay an additional $176.00. I am not happy about this at all. I am a travel RN & I'm thinking twice about using UHaul again for my additional assignments.

The one of the most ridiculous reasoning I've heard of! I want a refund for the month storage unit I was charged for!!!

I called back customer service the agent was great she booked me at the 304 Benwhite location the staff was great had no problem I use Uhaul whenever I have to and never had a problem, so I really will like to let the site manager at the 9001 I 35 location know about the young man who worked that evening shift on July 29th. Jessica was rude to me a few times when I was checking in, and she got me set up at the wrong storage unit. That wasted about an hour of my movers time that they could have spent unloading my truck. And the older lady was not very helpful, either. I went over there to check out, and it looked like she was busy. So I waited for her to finish. I couldn't help but notice it was taking awhile for her to wrap up what I thought she was doing on the computer. Turns out, she was dorking around on her cell phone and was completely oblivious to the fact that a customer was waiting on her. The location was okay, but the front desk staff are rude, aloof to customers and don't seem to know how to do their jobs right. Either re train them, or get new staff, please.

Kimberly F | Expérience généraleFirst I can from Ohio they out the wrong hitch onto my truck then they messed up my whole reservation got here for charged for locks twice bcuz my original storage space they didn't honor so I ended up with two small storage spaces which all of my things didn't fit in them then I was told that all of my reservations were the same for here and the drop off was for another part of Texas nobody knows about then was told I had to pay $250 not bcuz if some mistake I made but from the original person who completed the the paperwork did what they wanted and told us it would be changed by the time we arrived but I wasn't. So in short the hitch wrecked my truck, my storage space wasn't what I was given and had to pay for two separate locks because of it, then the drop off and storage was in the same place but when we got here Ohio didn't correct the mistake and so now I have to pay for something that wasn't my fault and the clerks inside the store were very rude and acted as if we robbed them of fees when I paid what was told to me and nobody told me about another Dee once I arrived I doesn't say in my bill that I have a balance due. I'm very upset and when I can move into my new place no I will not recommend this service to anyone I'm so disappointed

He really came through for me in this highly stressful situation. The facility was impeccably clean and carefully monitored, I felt very safe here. I explained we were taking items into our storage unit which was why I was parked up front by the door leading inside the building. He stated where I was parked was "their" parking and customers can't park there. When I asked where we should move he stated he didn't know but I can't stay where I'm at. Another vehicle pulled up and parked close to the entrance to begin unloading to which the employee told them "you can't park here". We both asked again where we should park and the employee began to get frustrated only stating "I don't know but not here". We were not blocking the flow of traffic for other customers or other employees to move trailers, cars , trucks etc. Overall I was rather shocked by the employee's statements and lack of help to know where we should park to unload.

The only saving grace was Mandi, as she was super helpful and understanding through the whole process. She deserves a pay raise and promotion. Uhaul as a whole was not helpful with the process of reviewing what happened to my unit, but that wasn't Mandi's fault. She was handcuffed by a horrible policy.

This letter revealed very personal information that I never authorized U-Haul to reveal to anyone and as I never provided that address I need an answer as to why this was sent. There is no reason for U-Haul to have sent that letter or to have access to that address. Please provide a response to my lawyer.

Then, car broke down, traded it in fast. So busy, frustrated & exhausted. I had to store all my belongings. No full-time job after returning from Dad's funeral. Someone went in my unit, stole an item that I know it wasn't me. Only I have the key and no one else. Rented for 2 years because I had no home of my own. Whoever is going around the units sneaking around when manager is gone stealing from the ones stored for so long should know I found out because I'm very particular of how I preserve my belongings. The item was permanently tied in knots with a large item because I wanted it there always!!! My item was cut and yanked off by someone. I have to forgive the soul who did this, so God will forgive me, too. I don't know if manager will believe me. I've been through enough already.

Facility was always clean and every staff member from office to personnel in the halls was always friendly and happy to help with anything, the few time I had to ask. James W | Expérience généraleWe have used this facility for years but couldn't wait to move out. Staff are nice, but management is totally unhelpful. We paid for extra hours access but several times weren't able to get in. Though our storage units were never bothered, the building security was not secure. I would NOT recommend single women use or access this facility. The automatic front doors are open to the general public all day during business hours despite the fact that it is described as a "secure" facility. I inquired about why a code was not necessary and why it wasn't locked during the day, and I was told by management that it was "public." This is simply not true: I paid significant amounts of rent monthly to use it ($350 per month for two 10x10 units for years) and random passersby do not pay a dime; therefore, they should not have the same access as I do, and this certainly lowers the level of security. On several occasions, I had uncomfortable moments at this facility when transient men entered the building; they made lewd comments and drove back and forth on their bikes in front of the building, and as I was going in and out and would enter the front doors with their bikes to use the bathroom. The bathroom (on the first floor) was treated as public, rather than reserved for renters. Additionally, during COVID, the mask mandate was not enforced here.

The m staff member over the intercom was disrespectful and condescending. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. People who need a storage facility are generally in some form of transition. Ugliness and a lack of communication are not helpful at a time like that.

He refunded my late fee, however, he was very unkind and and condescending. He expressed no empathy whatsoever and stated as long as I had the unit he would never refund another late fee. In October, the keycard machine wasn't working one night and a line of people had gathered and were trying to swipe in. I called the after hours number and it was the same unpleasant manager. Still discourteous. Still unhelpful. I hope that staff realize that moving into a storage unit can be a very low point in ones life, particularly after a job loss related to Novel Coronavirus. The human element is fundamentally important in relating to people.

We only used the storage half of the month and no refund, yet you are sending this survey and a final receipt meaning that we are not using the storage, I can almost guarantee that it will be rented to somebody else, so you are double dipping on the rent. I will make sure to let everybody know what a bad service you provide, and advise them to give their business to a place that values customers and not to a place where the "after hours" service is not provided because the general manager is too tired to even pick up the phone, that is why even the customer service agent kept calling him and the general manager never picked up the phone, shame, shame, shame.

I then went to ask the other person working outside to help and he yelled at me telling me I'm a big boy and can drive the vehicle by myself, which I couldn't. I went to the manager to tell him and he brushed it off like it was no big deal, and told me that he would do nothing about it. I will NEVER give my money to this UHaul location again knowing they are anti LGBTQ+ and just flat out rude. Been using UHaul for years and this is the only location I have ever had issues with. Disgustingly awful experience and I wish I could do ZERO stars.
