I was disappointed that they could not help me with my keys that I accidently left on the key ring that were dropped in the box. Instead, of placing them in an envelope or maybe a piece of tape with the reservation number. They throw all the keys together in one box! That dose NOT help your customers. There is no available parking for folks checking in and picking up. Then upon return you nearly need to leave the equipment on the highway because again there is little to no room to return anything. The staff was irritated by any question and rude. I have used other locations and would actually drive 30 minutes out of my way to avoid using this location.EVA M.

I drove directly to U-Haul from Greenville, SC, to meet movers at a particular time and was beyond stressed. There was a minor mishap with the online reservation for my storage unit but Caleb was AMAZING! He was really sensitive to my situation and was extremely kind, helpful, and accommodating. He really came through for me in this highly stressful situation. The facility was impeccably clean and carefully monitored, I felt very safe here. The inside office ladies were beyond helpful and very friendly to work with. They were welcoming and even joked around a bit while going through the rental process. Upon return the staff in the return line was quite the opposite. The moving van I rented for a brief hour to move a headboard was certainly not cleaned before being given to me, the cargo area was covered in leftover debris, mainly mulch, and the return employees were not very kind about the clean out procedure.MICHAEL B.

Caleb the manager of this location demonstrated maybe the worst leadership characteristics of anyone in manage I have ever come across. I had two 20' trucks rented out for an event. We returned one early as we found we didn't need it. The second we ended up needing longer, which we didn't know until after our original return day of Tuesday came and went. I missed the local store calling me for an update on that Wednesday. I called back Thursday which went to customer service and extended the rental. She was very helpful and said everything was good. I show up on the new return day to pickup any other truck we needed for load out from event and he refused to rent me the truck until I returned the original truck(which still had equipment in it.). I was willing to pay the additional charges for the original truck extension and rent a new truck making uhaul more money, but he said he would not be reasonable and rent it to meâ€¦. The worst representation of your company you could have to find solutions for the customer. Will never be a uhaul customer again thanks to him.JUSTIN B.
Pulled up to begin unloading items to place in storage and was told by an employee I am not allowed to park where I was. I explained we were taking items into our storage unit which was why I was parked up front by the door leading inside the building. He stated where I was parked was "their" parking and customers can't park there. When I asked where we should move he stated he didn't know but I can't stay where I'm at. Another vehicle pulled up and parked close to the entrance to begin unloading to which the employee told them "you can't park here". We both asked again where we should park and the employee began to get frustrated only stating "I don't know but not here". We were not blocking the flow of traffic for other customers or other employees to move trailers, cars , trucks etc. Overall I was rather shocked by the employee's statements and lack of help to know where we should park to unload.Mark P. | Online Move In

The online return option did not work over my iPhone browser. I troubleshot the issue extensively (believing the issue to be a location-based difficulty) but got nowhere. I ultimately was forced to download the clunky Uhaul app, wait for it to download, and then use it in lieu. Overall, the experience was terrible and is not a mistake I'll ever make twice. After a hard day of moving heavy furniture, I absolutely did not appreciate sitting in a parking lot trying to fuck with Uhaul's IT issues. I won't use this service again.CHRISTOPHER JAME G.

There was no parking. I parked out of the way behind the building. While waiting in line, I was asked to move my vehicle. I advised that there was no parking in the front lot. I was told I need to move my vehicle. I moved my vehicle up to the front and parked in a spot along the building as there were no marked spaces available. As I was the next customer to be handled, I was told to move my vehicle again and that I wouldn't be helped until I did. I felt like the staff was playing games. I advised I could be assisted and gone in 3 minutes with my trailer if they just help. I was told to move it and that I wouldn't get my trailer until I do. Poor customer service and poor parking at this location. The clerk then asked what trailer I rented. I advised I didn't recall the exact size, but that it was for a motorcycle. I stated it was in the reservation and asked her to simply look up my reservation. She then stated "you don't know what you rented?" I know it's tough finding help right now, but why hire people like this? It hurts your business.Brian L.

Reserving the truck online was easy enough but beginning and ending the rental online through the website/app was an utter nightmare. To start the rental you had to prove that you were in the location which was difficult and then finding the right truck was nearly impossible. Ending the rental online was totally impossible. Getting an actual person to help was aggravating. Luckily the employee that was working on rental returns walked through the lobby and saw the frustration on my face and quickly realized the trouble I was having and told me to just pull around to her for the return. She was so nice and understanding and checking out with her was the only saving grace of the whole experience. I wish I had got her name because she deserves recognition.Andrea R.

The app crashed several times when I was trying to check in to pick up the van I rented. I had to re-enter that information after each time it crashed. The most annoying thing was I already entered that information in when I reserved the rental. I tried to call to get help and I was put on hold for 20+ minutes. After the 3rd time the app crashed and I was not able to get ahold of anyone on the Uhaul customer service line I got it to work the 4th time. I also did not enjoy having to take pictures of the van in the pouring rain when I dropped it off. The next time I need to rent a truck or van I will be going to Home Depot. I rented a medium size box trailer to haul from Austin to Marfa,Tx. This is about a 7-8 hour drive of hwy miles. The staff was incredibly nice, patient and accommodating. When I was all hooked up, I received a text from U haul, but thought it was a receipt, so I didn't look at it thoroughly. This was information about the user checking the trailer over and noting flaws. When I arrived at my destination to load the trailer, I noticed it hadn't been swept out and had dirt and dog hair everywhere. I was able to find a broom and give it a once over. The next day I blasted off to Marfa, unloaded for a week long pop up show and parked the car and trailer for the week. I drove home the 7+ hours home on Sunday and dropped the trailer off on Monday. When I pulled up and got to of the car, I noticed the tire was completly bald, worn could have blown at any moment. When the attendant came to check me out, I pointed this out and he was shocked. Another attendant walked up and said, "we sent you out like this?" Reading the looks on their face, I could tell they were in disbelief the tire held up for me. I was extreamly thankful to make it back safely, but I can't image what would have happened if this failed tire would have done to the trailer, my car, my body and whoever was around me if it had blown on the road. I imagine it would not have been a pretty scene. I'm not sure what the tire looked like before I left, but I feel like even if I didn't check it, the tire failed in such a huge way, it should be addressed. In future, I'll be sure to give the trailer and tires a thourogh look over, but I also think it would be nice to review the trailer with the attendant or have the attendant remind you that it's on the driver to double check the trailer before it is ready to roll. Like I said, the location was extremely nice and efficient, but I do feel lucky I did get in an accident because of a failed Uhaul trailer tire. I'd go to this location again, I'd just be more proactive.ELIZABETH G.

there was a problem with the battery on the truck running down and we couldn't start it once we had everything loaded up. We called the help number which took forever and they said they would respond in 15 minutes to say when they would send someone. That took an hour and then they still weren't sending anyone. Returning my rental trailer after hours turned into an ordeal. Upon logging in to uhaul.com/share, I was unable to complete the mobile turn in because your system kept saying it could not confirm my location, even though I checked and my location was on â€œallowâ€ for that website. I called the 800 customer service number and waited at the uhaul to try to resolve the issue. After 43 minutes of being on hold, I left the location and finally got a rep about 10 minutes later. She took all the info, added notes to my file and told me to call when the location opened the next morning. She also said to explain what happened and tell them to check her notes which she added to my file. I called the next morning and confirmed everything was turned in and I was clear.I was concerned because the location said my turn in cleared the computer system at 7:57 a.m. I was concerned because I returned the trailer in around 9:30 p.m. the night before and it was due NLT 7:45 am and I was told if I was late, there may be an additional charge. The rep assured me there would be NO additional charges and I was â€œgood to goâ€. The fact that I could not follow your mobile system for returning my equipment after hours was frustrating and stressful and should not had been if your location tracking would have been working properly. Other than that, everything was resolved to my satisfaction and the people I dealt with throughout this process were polite, professional and helpful in resolving the issue.ELISE P.

The woman who checked me in was unfriendly and very short mannered. Then after she mumbled her quick dissertation of my renting instructions, she expected me to know that the truck i was renting that was "just outside " was actually at the side of the building with only a small bit of the headlights visable....there were Uhaul vehicles all over the parking lot! A smile, friendliness and some awareness that customers are not mind readers or are familiar with her "routine." The good news is the truck was there and did the job. Ive rented uhauls multiple times before, I literally moved 5 times in one year by myself so renting a uhaul isn't new to me, however this was the first time I rented one directly from uhaul all the other times I rented from a gas station or storage place. This was also my worst experience renting a uhaul. The guys in the back were both short in attitude and clearly would rather be anywhere else than at work. No one ever told me where drop off was so I followed the signs and parked where I though drop off was, one guy came up to me and talked to me as if I were stupid for parking there. Turns out there was a uhauls BLOCKING the rest of the signs that's said go to the back. I get to the back and the one dude only says â€œpull upâ€, I pulled up an additional one foot as there was no more room for me to pull up (what was the point)â€¦.. he doesn't say anything else to me except â€œI need in thereâ€ again in a condescending, I'm the stupid one tone of voice. He then turns to me and asks if I was going to refuel or pay the refueling fee. I said I just refueled and it's exactly at how it was when I picked it up, even showed him a picture of the gas and he still charged me the refueling fee. I go into the office and explain to the lady at the front desk, even mentioned how they were so rude to me and she was completely dismissive. So if you're looking to rent a uhaul with a unnecessary disrespect fee AND an unnecessary fuel fee, this THE best place in Austin. I'll probably never rent from here again.Jennifer M.

Somebody broke into my storage unit and threw my clothes/items all over the unit. Nothing was stolen, but it was certainly less than ideal. The only saving grace was Mandi, as she was super helpful and understanding through the whole process. She deserves a pay raise and promotion. The manager was the rudest, snd when I ask who the manager was he spoke up and said "Is there something you need"? I said no I need a business card with name, he in turn gave me a full sheet of locations but no name. I just opened a business in Austin, tx as well as Dallas, Tx., but I will never go back to that BEN WHITE location again and will inform everyone of ALL the problems I encountered. U-haul sent a letter to my parents' address despite the fact that I am not the primary account holder, I never provided my parent's addres, and that our unit was already closed. This letter revealed very personal information that I never authorized U-Haul to reveal to anyone and as I never provided that address I need an answer as to why this was sent. I've used this location before, but right before the pandemic, summer of 2019, I moved, not renewing apartment lease because my Dad was dying, left town. Then, car broke down, traded it in fast. So busy, frustrated & exhausted. I had to store all my belongings. No full-time job after returning from Dad's funeral. Someone went in my unit, stole an item that I know it wasn't me. Only I have the key and no one else. Rented for 2 years because I had no home of my own. Whoever is going around the units sneaking around when manager is gone stealing from the ones stored for so long should know I found out because I'm very particular of how I preserve my belongings. The item was permanently tied in knots with a large item because I wanted it there always!!! My item was cut and yanked off by someone. I truly appreciated the climate control. Stored wooden furniture for a little over a year and was in the same condition I put it in as. Facility was always clean and every staff member from office to personnel in the halls was always friendly and happy to help with anything, the few time I had to ask. We have used this facility for years but couldn't wait to move out. Staff are nice, but management is totally unhelpful. We paid for extra hours access but several times weren't able to get in. Though our storage units were never bothered, the building security was not secure. I would NOT recommend single women use or access this facility. The automatic front doors are open to the general public all day during business hours despite the fact that it is described as a "secure" facility. I inquired about why a code was not necessary and why it wasn't locked during the day, and I was told by management that it was "public." This is simply not true: I paid significant amounts of rent monthly to use it (350 $per month for two 10x10 units for years) and random passersby do not pay a dime; therefore, they should not have the same access as I do, and this certainly lowers the level of security. On several occasions, I had uncomfortable moments at this facility when transient men entered the building; they made lewd comments and drove back and forth on their bikes in front of the building, and as I was going in and out and would enter the front doors with their bikes to use the bathroom. The bathroom (on the first floor) was treated as public, rather than reserved for renters. Additionally, during COVID, the mask mandate was not enforced here.corrine s. | Expérience générale

Office/counter staff was wonderful. Garage/outdoor staff was gruff and confused. One told me to park in one spot, then another came out to tell me to move the truck to another spot, and then another came out to tell me to move it to another parking lot. The safety bar at the edge of the loading dock is a safety hazard. Easily rolling items off of the truck is impossible. Injury to the people unloading a truck is pretty much guaranteed.William O. | Premières impressions
