the facility was clean and secured the unit came sealed with pest control in place to prevent any problems. each unit is access coded ,there is a multi height loading dock ,plenty of flat dollies and lumber style dollies that mattress and tables can be transported with and a canopy over the dock. the staff was very helpful. exceeded expectations.JONATHAN G. | Expérience générale

There is really nothing I can think of to improve, Mandy made an extremely stressful and trying move for me so much smoother made me laugh where it could have been horribly straightforward just business and not friendly whatsoever so I left very well informed yet feeling like I wasn't just a numberLetcia F.
The truck was brown cleaned, but the cabin and exterior had not been washed. The customer service rep I dealt with when picking up the truck was unmotivated and provided poor customer service. Did not care that customers had to wait extended periods to check out or pick up a vehicle. Long line of customers waiting and all were frustrated at the lack of service from this rep.Scott W.

The customer service at the 304 E Ben White location was absolutely abysmal. I've never been spoken to so rudely in my life, by someone whose services I'm paying for. I felt completely dehumanized by two employees. Mandy was particularly awful, being extremely vague with her instructions to find my pod and insulting my intelligence when I asked for clarification. Another woman at the front desk was also insulting, regarding me not having an alternate phone number. Both women laughed when another customer made a creepy comment about/at me. The only bright spot in my interaction with this location was the manager, Ivy. She was very kind and listened to my concerns, and assured me that the way the others spoke to me was not acceptable. Also a forklift driver whose name i didn't get, he was very helpful in locating my pod when Mandy refused to provide information.Emily J.

I reserved a dolly with the van, when I get to U-Haul Ben White, I was told no dolly available, yet I explain that the website confirmed a dolly for me. I had to go to another U-Haul to get a dolly after calling customer service. The woman who "helped" me at ben white was kind of on her cell a bit and did not reach out to other U-Haul for the equipment I needed. I was overcharged for everything, how does a $19 in city rental become a $77 price? Total rip off and poor customer service.Pete W.
The app couldn't locate me even with my location services on. The printer was out in the office and the staff was struggling to use your own software, which obviously needs improvement. The staff was nice. The equipment was in good working order. No surprises on drop-off.Kevin R.

I drove 50 miles on the truck. I used less than 1/8th of a tank. It was late and I was willing to take a reasonable fuel fee by not refueling it myself. Than I got billed $172 for fuel. That is outrageous and totally unacceptable. I have read through all the electronic communications and agreements and cannot find anything about fuel rates. I wanted to refuel after I saw the charge, but there was no way to cancel the drop off and go get 4 gallons of gas. If this is not handled, I will never use Uhaul again and share my experience with family and friends. $172 for 4-5 gallons of gas? The truck rental with miles was $100. I even bought the insurance. Not only did I wait over an hour in line after online check in wasn't working but then they didn't even have the equipment I reserved because they said I missed my pick up time. The whole experience was terrible.TIMOTHY K.
The manager at this site was extremely rude. We did the mobile check in and when it was time to pick up the keys it stated, â€œskip the line, go right up to the counter.â€ Mind you there is a line of people that haven't moved the entire time we were doing the online checkin. We attempted to respectfully go to the side counter as recommend per the website. The manager yelled at my husband to get back in line. When he stated the mobile check in told us to come up here, he didn't help. Thankfully the staff member at the counter was familiar with this and helped us right away. Shocking a manager doesn't know their own policies and would yell at a customer for attempting to follow them.David R.
The whole mobile experience software is awesome. But finding your truck ( finally) and it's boxed in. So you keep changing trucks until you find one you can get out. THEN you find out that you have to go back in the main office where there is a long line because the keys are kept at the front counter. That kind of defeated the whole purpose of the softwareSteve K.
After a 45 minute wait in line, I finally made it to the front. They did not have the appliance dolly I reserved. I told them it was guaranteed in the email confirmation I received. The rep argued that a dolly was not equipment and therefore was not guaranteed. I argued that it was certainly equipment and was even designated as such in the order process. I asked if it was not available, why wasn't I notified, because I could have gone to a different location, to which I got a â€œsnarkyâ€ reply from the woman next to her that â€œ You can still go somewhere elseâ€. I asked to see the manager and told he was busy and would not see me. I asked for his name and contact information and was given it. I was then told I could wait but it would probably â€œquite a whileâ€ until he would talk to me. I then said, â€œ I will contact him. I just want the trailer that I rented.â€ Again, the reply was â€œWell, that's ALL you're gonna get.â€ I have never encountered such unprofessionalism, rudeness and outright disrespect for customer service and will NEVER use this location again. I usually use the Bluff Springs location, where Angela is always courteous, professional and friendly. I booked through her online, but the location was changed two days before my pickup to the Ben White location. I called her and discovered that the trailer she had, although the correct size, did not have the ramp, which was necessary for what I needed. Otherwise, I would have used her again. I know it is summer, the busiest moving time of the year. I know that the Ben White location is one of the busiest in Austin, which is why I arrived at 9:15 for a 10:00 pickup. I was expecting a protracted wait time and was prepared for that. What I was NOT prepared for was the one woman (who wasn't even the woman waiting on me) who seemed to be â€œ in chargeâ€ and obviously does not understand nor honor the concept that she is in the customer service business. There was no excuse for her behavior and attitude, which I saw during my long wait as she argued with other customers and was disrespectful to them. More than three people ahead of me in line exited, cursing the store, one calling her a â€œbitchâ€ so that everyone heard. I will be contacting the store manager to personally inform him of what transpired. This NOT acceptable business practice!Elise P.

Person working the counter was very rude and refused both my and another customers option to be handed our keys. We had both used the online 24/7 option and she said that didn't matter to her and we still needed to wait in line. I usually don't like posting negative feedback. But the personnel at this location is terrible. They are very rude and have no sense of customer service. It's clear that they hate their job. In fact they should not be behind the counter. I have never been treated this badly. The funniest thing is that they treated everyone that was there exactly the same: rude, unfriendly and not trying to solve problem. Take my word for it: If you try to avoid this location.Kone K.

Every interaction I had with the employees at this location, both on the phone and in-person, was great. No complaints. Courteous, respectful, and helpful. There were many people in line to get served on a Monday (Memorial Day). But employees worked hard to treat everyone as if they were the #1, and only, customer of the day. First, The customer service is not friendly. When I do not understand what he was saying, he just repeated what he said and never explain. I have to guess what he means. Secondly, less than one year when I used Uhaul from Houston to Austin, I paid about $240 for two days rental. It was in 2021 Summer. This time, the same distance from Austin to Houston for 2 days rental, I paid more than $400. Why does the price jump up so high? Lastly, the truck gas was in half of the tank. How can I accurately calculate to fill the tank to half when I return the truck?! I filled the tank to 3/4, it means I filled the gas tank more than what I got. Based on current gas price, it means I paid more than $20 for extra gasoline. But Uhaul does not refund me for extra gas amount. The situation is if we fill the gas tank less than when we pick up, Uhaul charge us the money. But when we return the truck with gasoline amount more than we picked up (because that location kept the tank not full, and we are hardly to fill exactly half of the tank, we filled 3/4 of the tank), and Uhaul does not refund the customer for extra money I paid for the gasoline. It is not fair business. I hope Uhaul should refund me the money for extra gas I paid. I really appreciate.Guijin L.

My first trailer was cancelled because the brake lights didn't work, I went to another location and was charged for a utility dolly when I did not get one. I tried to dispute the charge and got no correspondence, received my receipt in my inbox the next day. I will be contacting customer support and I would like this refunded promptly. Always short-staffed. with incredible wait times (up to an hour), any time of day, whether to buy 5 boxes or set up a $1000-plus rental. Suggest a) segregate rental buyers from product-only buyers, and b) pay more, to get more staff! If you care enough about your service levels to ask for feedback, pay attention to what you get back. Your wait times are insulting to customers, bad for business, and foolish. Your app to take photos of damage is inadequate. Using my iPhone 7, it simply vanished from my screen when I was almost done. The office reinstated it, and the same thing happened. I went back to the office and an unfriendly staff person said "just take photos with your phone - it will date-stamp them." Well, if that is the case, why ask clients to bother with your broken, stupid, worthless app????Richard E.

The facility was ok, but the staff were honestly incompetent and rude. Jessica was rude to me a few times when I was checking in, and she got me set up at the wrong storage unit. That wasted about an hour of my movers time that they could have spent unloading my truck. And the older lady was not very helpful, either. I went over there to check out, and it looked like she was busy. So I waited for her to finish. I couldn't help but notice it was taking awhile for her to wrap up what I thought she was doing on the computer. Turns out, she was dorking around on her cell phone and was completely oblivious to the fact that a customer was waiting on her. The location was okay, but the front desk staff are rude, aloof to customers and don't seem to know how to do their jobs right. Long-time storage customer, never late with payment. Rented trucks and trailers for move in, moving storage contents, and storage checkout. The alarm at the Ben White facility is deafening and incessant. Why can't this be disabled or another method of alert used? It is a problem for individuals with sound sensitivities. First I can from Ohio they out the wrong hitch onto my truck then they messed up my whole reservation got here for charged for locks twice bcuz my original storage space they didn't honor so I ended up with two small storage spaces which all of my things didn't fit in them then I was told that all of my reservations were the same for here and the drop off was for another part of Texas nobody knows about then was told I had to pay $250 not bcuz if some mistake I made but from the original person who completed the the paperwork did what they wanted and told us it would be changed by the time we arrived but I wasn't. So in short the hitch wrecked my truck, my storage space wasn't what I was given and had to pay for two separate locks because of it, then the drop off and storage was in the same place but when we got here Ohio didn't correct the mistake and so now I have to pay for something that wasn't my fault and the clerks inside the store were very rude and acted as if we robbed them of fees when I paid what was told to me and nobody told me about another Dee once I arrived I doesn't say in my bill that I have a balance due. I drove directly to U-Haul from Greenville, SC, to meet movers at a particular time and was beyond stressed. There was a minor mishap with the online reservation for my storage unit but Caleb was AMAZING! He was really sensitive to my situation and was extremely kind, helpful, and accommodating. He really came through for me in this highly stressful situation. The facility was impeccably clean and carefully monitored, I felt very safe here. Pulled up to begin unloading items to place in storage and was told by an employee I am not allowed to park where I was. I explained we were taking items into our storage unit which was why I was parked up front by the door leading inside the building. He stated where I was parked was "their" parking and customers can't park there. When I asked where we should move he stated he didn't know but I can't stay where I'm at. Another vehicle pulled up and parked close to the entrance to begin unloading to which the employee told them "you can't park here". We both asked again where we should park and the employee began to get frustrated only stating "I don't know but not here". We were not blocking the flow of traffic for other customers or other employees to move trailers, cars , trucks etc. Overall I was rather shocked by the employee's statements and lack of help to know where we should park to unload.Mark P. | Online Move In

The elevator broke after my first trip to the second floor. The staff was difficult to reach, did not answer the phone or assistance button until a few tries. Somebody broke into my storage unit and threw my clothes/items all over the unit. Nothing was stolen, but it was certainly less than ideal. The only saving grace was Mandi, as she was super helpful and understanding through the whole process. She deserves a pay raise and promotion. I rent from haul fairly often and have never encountered such rudeness, unfriendly, unhelpful people. The manager was the rudest, snd when I ask who the manager was he spoke up and said "Is there something you need"? I said no I need a business card with name, he in turn gave me a full sheet of locations but no name. I just opened a business in Austin, tx as well as Dallas, Tx., but I will never go back to that BEN WHITE location again and will inform everyone of ALL the problems I encountered. U-haul sent a letter to my parents' address despite the fact that I am not the primary account holder, I never provided my parent's addres, and that our unit was already closed. This letter revealed very personal information that I never authorized U-Haul to reveal to anyone and as I never provided that address I need an answer as to why this was sent. I've used this location before, but right before the pandemic, summer of 2019, I moved, not renewing apartment lease because my Dad was dying, left town. Then, car broke down, traded it in fast. So busy, frustrated & exhausted. I had to store all my belongings. No full-time job after returning from Dad's funeral. Someone went in my unit, stole an item that I know it wasn't me. Only I have the key and no one else. Rented for 2 years because I had no home of my own. Whoever is going around the units sneaking around when manager is gone stealing from the ones stored for so long should know I found out because I'm very particular of how I preserve my belongings. The item was permanently tied in knots with a large item because I wanted it there always!!! My item was cut and yanked off by someone. I have to forgive the soul who did this, so God will forgive me, too. I don't know if manager will believe me. I've been through enough already.maria d. | Expérience générale
I truly appreciated the climate control. Stored wooden furniture for a little over a year and was in the same condition I put it in as. Facility was always clean and every staff member from office to personnel in the halls was always friendly and happy to help with anything, the few time I had to ask. We have used this facility for years but couldn't wait to move out. Staff are nice, but management is totally unhelpful. We paid for extra hours access but several times weren't able to get in. Though our storage units were never bothered, the building security was not secure. I would NOT recommend single women use or access this facility. The automatic front doors are open to the general public all day during business hours despite the fact that it is described as a "secure" facility. I inquired about why a code was not necessary and why it wasn't locked during the day, and I was told by management that it was "public." This is simply not true: I paid significant amounts of rent monthly to use it ($350 per month for two 10x10 units for years) and random passersby do not pay a dime; therefore, they should not have the same access as I do, and this certainly lowers the level of security. On several occasions, I had uncomfortable moments at this facility when transient men entered the building; they made lewd comments and drove back and forth on their bikes in front of the building, and as I was going in and out and would enter the front doors with their bikes to use the bathroom. The bathroom (on the first floor) was treated as public, rather than reserved for renters. Additionally, during COVID, the mask mandate was not enforced here.corrine s. | Expérience générale
