Hi. There was signs of liquid or something someone sprayed out on the seats that could have been cleaned off. Also the utility dolly and the furniture pads were in the way so had to move the dolly and struggled not opening the pads to make more room for our items that was suppose to go on the 15 ft space we purchased. Didn’t realize some of the space wouldn’t be impact by the dolly so had to take the dolly off which they charged me for so not a good experience with that so suggest if someone does not purchase it that they take it off he truck ahead of time or something like that.

Self check in is slow, the order of the process didn’t flow well. For example you had us go look for the truck then you had us drive back up to the front to get the key. It would make sense to get the key then go to your truck. Just a thought for you.

This location is always incredibly slow and they frequently have computer issues. On this visit they gave me the wrong vehicle. As soon as I realized I didnt have the correct vehicle, I came back and had to run through the paperwork all over again. I tried to use the online check in to avoid the wait, but website gave me a "404" error.. The only reason I rated average and not below average is because I have also picked up vehicles from other locations that are incredibily slow, so this must be in significant part a Uhaul issue.

My Experience with U-Haul couldn't have been anty better! From the first phone call to the return, everything went l.ike clock-work! Staff was helpful & veryfriendly. I will definitely use U-Haul for all my moving needs as well as tell my friends to call you!! Thnk you, PJ Everlove!!

They charged us for two days and we only had it for 24 hours. Also, I told the woman I didn’t want insurance and she charged me 28$ for two days. What a rip off Uhaul is. If I don’t my money back, it won’t be nice.

I have been renting at the 28th st location every week, multiple times a week, since August 2019. I probably have rented 30+ times during this time period. This location has been excellent and a 5 star experience. Every time I rent from here the customer service has been friendly and personable. I have developed a friendly and personable relationship with everyone from the front counter to the vehicle return lane. Everyone at this location makes me feel like a welcomed VIP customer and even though this isn’t the closest location to my house I always return because I know I’m going to get the best and the fastest service. If U-haul has any type of employee award program then I would strongly like to recommend the employees of the 28th Street Grand Rapids location for an award based on their extremely above average customer service. Also, I would like to suggest that U-haul develop an rewards program. I have rented dozens of times in the last 6 months and would have appreciated some type of loyalty reward.

When I went to return the truck after hours, the site did not work. I tried calling customer service but got transfered around for half an hour and nobody seemed to know how or care to help me. I eventually dropped the keys in the box and called the next day to make sure it was recorded as returned. Customer service was supremely lacking.

Things have changed since we used U-Haul 3 years ago. I am certain I am not alone in my experience. I have returned a vehicle after hours in the past and never had to go through this kind of crazy. I wish I had been explained to, that I would have to take pictures of everything (which I always do anyway), but I never thought to take a picture of the FULL gas gauge, which goes down to empty if the truck is not running. I should have been told that even though the contract was with me, because I had my son do the driving, that I could have saved over 30 minutes of crazy mind blowing stress if I had been told that the DRIVER, not me the payer, had to log in for return. After logging in to do the return, we had to upload photos and each time, required more transfer of pictures from my phone to his phone (this was after 30 minutes of trying to figure out why my location services, which I always have OFF, and turned it ON specifically for this purpose was not working). It dawned on me, after calling the company for help, in that he was insisting I needed to return the vehicle myself, that my son had to provide the information. I was sitting in this correct return spot for the better of 45 minutes, minus time to refill my own vehicle down the street while trying to figure out the problem. Long story short. We wasted 45 minutes of our lives going in and out of the return form, in and out of the return form, calling for help that is written in the fine print somewhere, when it could have all been explained very simply at the time of pick up. I hope someone else can learn from my experience. Before leaving with your vehicle - TAKE A VIDEO - VIDEO OF EVERYTHING. Upon return - TAKE A VIDEO OF EVERYTHING - INCLUDING YOUR LOCATION (because "the next family will need to know where to pick up this vehicle"). Before you log into the site to return your truck, make sure you have snapshots of all parts of your clean and tidy truck, a picture of the gas gauge on full, the miles on the truck, and your location because you will have to start the process all over if you do not have them to upload from the phone of the driver - the DRIVER! Or - you can pay the company $20 to verify your return the next day, and maybe agree with your opinion you returned the truck full and happy. I am heading out to buy a truck and covered trailer. Have a nice day!

No staffing in the building at 8:00 am. Customers lined up and waiting inside the showroom waited 40 minutes before a someone showed up to work. I went looking for someone and found no one! Terrible service, needs to be addressed

- Employee does not communicate when take action. Just walks away to inspect vehicle without telling me. Rude and jarring experience. - Employees eat their breakfast on the counter desk - Topped off gasoline when I returned the vehicle. Ended up paying $15 when it should only have been $3-4. Full doesn't mean full at UHaul apparently. This means that I received a vehicle that was not full and ripped off. Dishonest.

The recent snows probably take credit for the few customers I encountered when renting/returning the trailer. I'd mentioned to my mother that the rental process (LONG waits; extensively drawn out) is far worse than the cost. Usually an hour or more total - got lucky this time.

My only complaint is on the day I moved out of the lockers I was in line in the office/store area behind two other customers for 25 minutes. 20 minutes of which there was no staff at all there.
