The check in process via the app was not smooth. The truck wasn't where the app said it would be. The pictures of the vehicle used to approve its condition where blurry so that you couldn't see anything. The cab had a banana peel on the floor and crackers in the cup holders. The vehicle was just old and beat up. I actually felt dirty after using the vehicle. Very disappointed in this experience.David G.

When I came, there was no space for the truck. I came in and waited 10 minutes until the ladies arrived. The most upsetting thing g was that I returned the truck day before, less millage the allowance, and more gas than I got it with. Clean vehicle with everything as requested including the rental doles and covers. After an hour they send me Email that I am charged 200 $!!. I understand being short staffed and wait times may increase, but that doesn't change the need for quality customer service. Kayla Hawley was super helpful. My only issue was that we were given, at first, a unit on the second floor but was not told on the website that this facility doesn't have an elevator. The facility we rented the u-haul from in Hastings Michigan did not have the equipment we requested and neglected to explain that here was an 100 $refundable deposit.Diane D. | Premières impressions

The installation was not a smooth process. The first time I was scheduled the hitch came in with no bolts so it had to be reordered, and I had to drive back for another appointment. The second time I was told I would be the first install of the day, only to find out that wasn't true and I ended up waiting 5 hours for my installation to be completed. I do not live in Grand Rapids so I was stranded there while I waited. Although the hitch did get installed and the employees were kind, I hope I never have to go through that again. On a Friday afternoon before a holiday weekend, there was only one employee working and lots of customers to assist.Chelsea D.
It's difficult to have to move boxes and other heavy items up and down stairs. I have mobility issues and very little help but if a ramp would have been helpful rather than going up and down stairs.OUDIA MAE K.

Check in and check out process went very smooth. The facility was clean. Front desk employee was nice, professional and friendly. We rented 10 foot truck to move our daughter back to college. The truck was clean inside and outside with minor scratches, but when we start driving we noticed Terrible sound coming from the top of the truck. They sound started just on the highway with the speed over 50 miles per hour. Suggestion- better Truck maintenance or new trucks.Pavel F.

The pickup process is ridiculous - why go through the trouble of "skipping the line" if they send you on a wild goose chase to find the truck and then you have to go inside to get the key? I rented a truck from 6:15pm to 5:15pm the next day, but they charged me for two days two and two days insurance.Eric W.
Everyone at the location was awesome. Our issue was we called to have our equipment changed over to a 1 way and was told no problem, but the system was down and I would have to call back in the morning. I called back in the morning and was told that was not possible and there was nothing they could do, if I wanted a 1 way I would have to pay 400 $. We had to scramble to change all of our plans and thankfully found a local company to rent from. We use Uhaul all of the time as we don't have a truck and your pickups are convenient but we will not be using Uhaul again.COLE WILLIAM D.

To begin we were guaranteed a 20ft truck (the only size that would work for moving to a new state) at a specific location nearby. The day before pick-up we were contacted and told that truck size doesn't exist at the guaranteed location and we could drive to a further location for a 15 ft truck (way too small!) They should've delivered the truck to our location instead of making us drive 3 hours round trip, taking 3 hours out of a workday and losing us that part of a days paycheck and wasting our time and stress. Once we got the truck unloaded and headed to the storage unit we'd pre-registered and that was included free with our one way truck rental, the trouble and headaches kept coming. We were originally given a 10x5 at another facility, but when we got to the unit, it's actual measurements were 5x5, even the worker said that happens, that U-Haul's dimension of storage spaces don't always match the dimensions they advertise them as, he measured it for us for confirmation. We had to call customer service (plus 15 minutes of in hold time) to locate another facility with the size we needed because the store was unable to look it up or call them. We had no way of double-checking with the new facility whether they actually had the unit available in that size, and the worker at the one we were at wasn't able to for us (ridiculous they can't call another store locally to check!). We had to blindly drive to the new facility. Upon arrival, check-in was smoothish. The young man wasn't thorough and missed some things we had to correct for him. Then he sent us to our unit and forgot to come unlock our unit for us so we had to go remind them we were there 30 minutes later to which the guy said he'd forgotten we were there. He didn't warn us of the sticky trap on the floor of the unit or point it out at all so I accidentally stepped on it moving something into the unit and ruined the bottoms of good running shoes. All of this made us late for our rented truck drop off time, and lower on fuel for drop off than we were supposed to be, we wouldn't have been if this hadn't all been wrong. Not only was this a drain on finite fossil fuel resources, it was a waste if our time, adding an additional hour of driving around for U-Haul's mistake. This all also made us so late that we missed a ticketed event and were unable to get a refund. Very dissatisfied with the company and the customer service as a whole for wasting at least 5 hours of our time, energy, and emotions.Heather P. | Premières impressions
