One suggestionâ€"the rep should escort the customer to the truck and point out the basic controls (I had a dome light that wouldn't go off, couldn't find the Hazard switch, had to go inside and ask a rep to come out & show me where these controls were.) Truck ran rough, was older, overhead door needed lubrication, truck didn't appear to have been cleaned recently. Driver's door needed work, it was hard to close properly.Gary D.

I called about an issue with the lights on trailer not staying on. I called customer service they said they would transfer me to roadside assistance. I was never transfered I was hung up on. It was a very unsafe and miserable move for me. I tried calling the store i rented the trailer from and I got the automated system. The practice of separate bills for each unit when I had two units led to double very high late fees. I went online and put the payment on auto, then received a few days later a letter telling me that if I put the payment on auto The late fees would be refunded. They were not refunded and I got another late fee the next month for one unit which is when I found out that each unit was charged separately. Red bearded hipster that works behind the counter will try to charge you extra money if you disagree with the original charge. Went straight to a rental location with pickup truck (2,7 miles away) and could not pick up what I needed because the rental location closed for reasons related to Covid. I drove straight back to the Uhaul (2,7 miles) within one hour and explained the situation. Instead of offering a discount, they charged me for more miles than I possibly could have drove 11 miles. When I disputed this, the red bearded guy told me I was going to have to pay the shop to check the odometer. He was smug and you could tell he was getting off with his little power trip. If I get charged any additional funds I will take this to court. This red bearded lowser should not be dealing with the public.MATHEW C.

Unfortunately you have an IDIOT AT YOUR BRUNSWICK OFFICE who wanted to charge a drop-off fee twice the rental fee for a defective trailer rental where the hitch detached while on I295. Only because of my experience driving trucks was I able to prevent what could easily have become a catastrophic accident. And the fellow who rented and hooked up the trailer in S. Portland needs serious training in properly securing the chains. You need guys like RYAN on the job and the schmuck in Brunswick needs to find a job washing dishes. I rented a larger, open top, utility trailer and since I professionally haul a single axle trailer everyday at work, I thought my truck was good to go. Check in went fine but when it came time to hook up, my receiver ball was too big (2-5/8) which is standard for most trailers. The guy helping me said "we only use 1-7/8" to 2" balls for all our trailers" and then I spent another half hour waiting in line again to purchase a 1-7/8" ball. I was very frustrated at that point but when we finally got the trailer on and went to go hook up lights, I only have a 7 pin hook up, which again is an industry standard. Once again the guy told me, "all of our trailers are 4 pin hook ups," so I once again had to go stand in line a second time to purchase an adapter for another half hour. They were very busy and I was trying my best to practice patience, the guy helping me was sincere in his efforts. However, if all of this information had been clearly printed up front and in plain sight when I made the reservation, I could've saved myself an hour and a half headache and an extra 50 $because I had both of those items at home. Now I have two of each of them because they were used and I couldn't return them. How about a little more communication of this stuff and a little less of trying to sell me useless things I don't need.David H.

I rented a truck for a 9am pickup. When I got there, the line was 7 people deep and I had to wait almost 30 minutes before I could talk to a human. Staff is definitely not motivated - very slow and lethargic. Only one person was processing pickups - the other was mired is some long, irritating issue with a customer. Slightly frustrating for people who need to get up and get going on a big move. Waiting that long is unacceptable - get more staff and train them to process faster.Christian L.

Fire all the management, retrain the old staff up to a reasonable level of competency, and hire new management that cares about the customer satisfaction and service. Should the old staff not be able to meet reasonable management expectations, replace them with people who are not below par. Approx 20 minute wait from door to counter, then from 9:04 when the reciept was printed to 9:56 either waited in line behind people being served by ONE employee doing the hookups, or being told to wait in areas of ANOTHER LOT where there was no employees visible. I did happen to see one employee go on, and return from what I assumed was his break. After waiting approx 15 minutes behind the car in front of me, the employee informed me that "that equipment is over in another lot" and then proceeded to hook up the vehicle behind me, rather than accomodate my equipment rental in a timely manner. It is unacceptable to me as a customer to wait nearly an hour in a parking lot to watch people who were behind me, to be ultimately served in front of me. After all was said and done, idle conversation with my neighbor revealed that this was an ongoing problem at this location, and that if I had told him prior that I was renting from this location...he would have advised me to go to a more distant, yet more competent business. This is either failure of the management team to uphold current employees to a level of reasonable competency that has soured the business in the public eye, or a failure of the trademark owner to ensure that piss-poor customer service has not become their current standard of business.Christopher R.

I went to pick up my trailer at the original location which was Pleasant Hill Auto Sales there was no Transport Trailer there waiting for me they didn't have one after I made a reservation and the people over there were very rude then I called the locator number and they were able to find me a trailer down on Marginal Way which is a U-Haul hub I ended up waiting there half the morning while they repair the tire on the trailer so I would say overall that my experience was horrible but after waiting for hours I finally got my Transport Trailer I think you guys need to work on having better equipment available when we make reservations and I think you need to have talks with your independent contractors about being rude to your customers and I also think that 400 $is a ridiculous price to rent a trailer for 2 days to call from Maine to Louisville Kentucky do you have any questions you can give me a call 207-206-9158PAUL M.

You need more staff, more parking, more and easier access to interior storage with more bays and more carts, MORE DIRECT ACCESS TO TRAINED AND INFORMED PHONE/COUNTER STAFF. Hire cheap get cheap. Usually young. IMPORTANT: I talked to 2 employees on the call-center line and neither had accurate or satisfactory information both of which was vital and time-sensitive. Third individual had the right info and assurances. I fell on ice on street where I was forced to park because the U-Haul lot was full of trucks and vans on a slow Sunday morning. You charge for EVERYTHING connected to your business. The least you can do is to provide a commensurate service. Doing otherwise labels you as arrogant because you are the "only game in town".
