Not much is needed
Staff were very kind and helpful. Especially the two men who helped me get the trailer hooked up and taken off.
I rented a larger, open top, utility trailer and since I professionally haul a single axle trailer everyday at work, I thought my truck was good to go. Check in went fine but when it came time to hook up, my receiver ball was too big (2-5/8) which is standard for most trailers. The guy helping me said "we only use 1-7/8" to 2" balls for all our trailers" and then I spent another half hour waiting in line again to purchase a 1-7/8" ball. I was very frustrated at that point but when we finally got the trailer on and went to go hook up lights, I only have a 7 pin hook up, which again is an industry standard. Once again the guy told me, "all of our trailers are 4 pin hook ups," so I once again had to go stand in line a second time to purchase an adapter for another half hour. They were very busy and I was trying my best to practice patience, the guy helping me was sincere in his efforts. However, if all of this information had been clearly printed up front and in plain sight when I made the reservation, I could've saved myself an hour and a half headache and an extra $50, because I had both of those items at home. Now I have two of each of them because they were used and I couldn't return them. How about a little more communication of this stuff and a little less of trying to sell me useless things I don't need.
We had some challenges unloading our haul. UHaul gave us a much needed 30 minute extension. So grateful! The truck was clean and worked out well!
i ordered a 10' truck and was given an 15' truck. This is NOT an upgrade! This is probably the third time this has happened to me at Uhaul. If I wanted or needed a 15' truck i would have reserved it. Now I'm paying more for gas (larger vehicle) and parallel parking just got harder. Every single time people.

Should not have waited 10 plus minutes for help to remove a trailer that took two people to hook up. After waiting and no one came to help had to remove trailer alone.
They over charge and cheat you on the gas. Don't drop the truck off without verifying that the gas has been replaced, or you will be cheated like I was.
I rented a truck for a 9am pickup. When I got there, the line was 7 people deep and I had to wait almost 30 minutes before I could talk to a human. Staff is definitely not motivated - very slow and lethargic. Only one person was processing pickups - the other was mired is some long, irritating issue with a customer. Slightly frustrating for people who need to get up and get going on a big move. Waiting that long is unacceptable - get more staff and train them to process faster.
I was given a truck so low on gas that we weren't sure it would make it to a gas station. The online check in system didn't work at all. I had to make an extra trip back to the store because they forgot to include the dolly. Overall, no one seemed at all bothered by this, business as usual at this location I guess.
My cost was double what I was quoted online. VERY Deceptive. I am still waiting for an explanation. I didn't shop around on this rental. I certainly will in the future if UHaul is even considered.
45 minute wait to pick up a reserved truck is ridiculous.
Fire all the management, retrain the old staff up to a reasonable level of competency, and hire new management that cares about the customer satisfaction and service. Should the old staff not be able to meet reasonable management expectations, replace them with people who are not below par. Approx 20 minute wait from door to counter, then from 9:04 when the reciept was printed to 9:56 either waited in line behind people being served by ONE employee doing the hookups, or being told to wait in areas of ANOTHER LOT where there was no employees visible. I did happen to see one employee go on, and return from what I assumed was his break. After waiting approx 15 minutes behind the car in front of me, the employee informed me that "that equipment is over in another lot" and then proceeded to hook up the vehicle behind me, rather than accomodate my equipment rental in a timely manner. It is unacceptable to me as a customer to wait nearly an hour in a parking lot to watch people who were behind me, to be ultimately served in front of me. After all was said and done, idle conversation with my neighbor revealed that this was an ongoing problem at this location, and that if I had told him prior that I was renting from this location...he would have advised me to go to a more distant, yet more competent business. This is either failure of the management team to uphold current employees to a level of reasonable competency that has soured the business in the public eye, or a failure of the trademark owner to ensure that piss-poor customer service has not become their current standard of business.
Allow for easier pickup if reserved online rather than having to wait in line for 30mins to get a key

I went to pick up my trailer at the original location which was Pleasant Hill Auto Sales there was no Transport Trailer there waiting for me they didn't have one after I made a reservation and the people over there were very rude then I called the locator number and they were able to find me a trailer down on Marginal Way which is a U-Haul hub I ended up waiting there half the morning while they repair the tire on the trailer so I would say overall that my experience was horrible but after waiting for hours I finally got my Transport Trailer I think you guys need to work on having better equipment available when we make reservations and I think you need to have talks with your independent contractors about being rude to your customers and I also think that $400 is a ridiculous price to rent a trailer for 2 days to call from Maine to Louisville Kentucky do you have any questions you can give me a call 207-206-9158
3rd time Maine Traffic out of Bangor has caused issues w reservation. Despite all wording on website & confirmation emails of it being a RESERVATION, they changed the time available less than 24 hrs before claiming it was only ever a 'preferred time.' Turns out, the prior user had not returned the truck to the correct location and they have zero backup equipment for any margin of error such as this. The location mngr was helpful to get a truck at the original time however only after extended discussion in person. Onsite day of pickup was told we had to wait in line to get the key despite using the truck share app which specifically says to go to the side of the counter to skip the line. And finally while waiting in said line, witnessed employees who were cleaning trucks smoking in the truck while moving them on the lot. This was my 23rd time moving w Uhaul, 3rd and hopefully last with this traffic department.
I am rather disappointed that ivwas charged extra mileage when I had more gas in it than when I rented the truck. Maybe it would be a nice gesture to let the customer know that you see they went a certain amount of miles over (my charge was just over $7) but you also see they had returned the truck with more gas than at pick up, so the charge for the miles can be waived. I'm sure I won't get my money back and I'm not going to cry over $7 but it would have been a nice customer experience to have it happen for someone else
I got there and there were only two employees working. There was a line of about 15 people and I had to wait over half an hour to find out the size truck I reserved was not available. When I got up to the counter the man was very pleasant and nice, so that was not an issue. I asked him if I could change the location I of where I was dropping off the truck. He said that was fine, I asked two more times before I left, do you need to update my contract to reflect the new drop off location. He said no that he had put a note in my profile that I was dropping it off there for my convenience. I asked him does the rate change because I'm dropping off at another location and he said no. So I head on my way. I get to my destination and then go to drop off at the Augusta location. I go inside, neither one of the employees are wearing masks. They come out look at the truck and say â€œthis says you're dropping off in Portlandâ€ and I said â€œyes the gentleman said I could drop off here for my convenienceâ€ he said no he couldn't do they, so they tried to contact Portland, they couldn't get a hold of anyone. So after waiting for about 45 minutes. They said I have two options, to drive the rental back or pay $275 for them to take it. So I decided to drive it back because that is an absurd price to drop off, which is something that uhaul is meant for. My own personal vehicle had to be driven both ways for no reason. This was such a horrible experience and I'm still very upset about the whole situation. The customer service could be worked on greatly at the Augusta store. There were several customers who came in dropping off who just wanted a receipt and the men said oh you'll get and email. But it was clear that they were worried about their charges and the men just said you'll only get charged what you used. That doesn't make anyone feel right. They have the right to know what they'll be charged then. I also got charged $44 more than when I was originally told. The man said my total was $78, but by the end of the day it was $122 and after the horrible day just trying to get the truck returned I didn't have the energy to ask where the extra charge was.

Giorgi Chechelashvili, the gentleman that checked me out and back in with my trailer rental is a true gem. I would rent from uhaul just because of Giorgi! Great employee. I felt it was important to point out the positive as opposed to the negative. There is enough negative as it is. Giorgi is a positive!
Returning equipment was too long. Not enough staff to handle the volume.
