I used this U-Haul almost a year ago and they still don’t have my bill sorted, this is getting old.
MIchael LLocation was great, but U-Haul's customer profile management is awful for both the customer and the management of services at each location I've been at since rolling out new systems. Additionally, I should not need to give out other people's information for transactions between U-Haul and I.

TODD SI returned the truck but then had to bring the furniture pad blankets back separately. They closed and I brought them back the next day. Everyone was kind and helped me unload but now I've got a $288 charge for damage and my inquiry to assert that the pads were returned have gone unanswered for 10 days. The employee at the return said that because I paid upfront on a one way trip that I didn't need any further confirmation of returning the last of the rented equipment, but I'm still being charged for it.

Matthew LIf a customer cleans the back of the truck and after returning based on signage inside which reads $25 return savings U-Haul should follow what is being said. We did not receive it sadly after spending time cleaning the back of the trailer area.

Gary MJared hooking me up was amazing excellent service and quick so I could get out of there. I've had him a few times hook my trailers up as I've been moving to last month and a half and renting trailers overall excellent service from this location.

The people at the desk were great as was the gentleman who did the work, unfortunately I didn't get his name but he was clearly working hard. He and Gerard ?Gerry?, the young man who helped me put the trailer on and explained everything was so great, polite, professional and efficient. Will definitely use Avondale UHaul in the future if needed and thanks very much.

CRAIG LI booked a one-way rental from Wheeling, IL to Bloomington, IN. However, i had to pick it up at Chicago location and drop off in Bloomington was not available. It took me 3 calls. 2 of them i had to abandon after 40-minute on-hold wait each to get an agent to arrange a drop off location in Bloomington.

KATHY TIn short, my hitch was not installed in a timely manner and not properly at all which causes profound frustration. I scheduled a hitch installation appointment and opted to 'stay with car' for the 30 min - 3 hour appointment rather than drop off and pick up later. The car hadn't even been started 3 hours after the appointment had started and I was instructed to come back at the end of the day. I had plans scheduled during the day so I had to incur unexpected transportation costs due to not having access to my car. This waste of my time and money was significantly frustrating. What makes matters worse is that when I finally used the hitch a couple weeks following the installation, it nearly fell off of my car. I noticed that there was a lot of bounce and drooping of the bike rack attached to the hitch. I was out of town and the manager of a different U-Haul location inspected the hitch and was livid to relay that not only had a bolt loosened and fell out, the other three bolts were very loose and on their way out. He explained that it was clear to him whoever installed the hitch had absolutely no clue what they were doing. Thank goodness for him as he fixed the issue and now my hitch is properly attached to my car. The initial install put myself and others at grave risk and the thought of any accident occurring due to the negligence of installation leaves me sick. I've always had a fine experience with this location for rental pickups, but I cannot in good faith ever recommend this location for hitch installation.

OSCAR BTruck was pretty beat up. Driver side door had to be slammed to be closed. Steering wheel/engine start was not smooth (had to jam the brake pedal to loosen up steering column). Staff was good. QR code for after hours return did not work. Luckily there was still someone there when I returned the truck.

AVRAHAM NThe staff was friendly and helpful. But I had to call (and wait on hold for over an hour) for EVERY step of the way. My boxes were stored at the wrong location, my movers (who were booked through U-Haul) had the wrong date and address, and once my boxes were delivered, I still got charged for the next month because they weren't "checked out". Super frustrating process in an already stressful moving time. My belongings arrived safe and nothing was broken which was a huge plus.

TAMARA BOne box of as crunched. I think it's OK but it was marked fragile and loaded in the back lower corner. It was kitchen glassware and dishes. Going thru it little by little. So far everything is good. Will let you know if otherwise.
Carol PWaited for an hour to even be able to talk to someone at the front desk. They were nowhere to be found. Ended up doing self check in and still took forever to even just get a set of keys. Took an hour and a half out of my moving time frame. I suggest having more than 1 employee at the front counter to assist customers. This has happened multiple times at this specific location. Merci.

My container arrived as planned with all my stuff in the same condition it departed in. I received texts, emails and phone calls throughout the process as well. Great job , U Haul !

JOSE MWe were not asked what type of CRV that we had. When we arrived we were told that the hitch we needed was $80. more expensive than what we were quoted. They did give us $30 off for the inconvenience of having to wait a little longer but we still paid $50 more than quoted. I was very disappointed.

POD locking mechanism was broken on delivery. delivery technician of pods hit garage and broke it requiring us to pay a fee to have it fixed. Emails and text updates were coming in during the middle of the night the day after the event already happened. Would not use again.

Janie SI have no idea on how many pads I got. I had to fold quite a few. My only real issue is that there should be tracking section, just put in the order number and the entire history of the shipment appears. I definitely had a positive phone experience with a couple U-Haul associates.
Carl HAnswer the phone, I reached to this location for 24 hours regarding a truck rental and never received any call back. Considering I'm a moving help provider, wanting to properly service the customer provided by Uhaul, I would expect a better buy in from Uhaul.
DENZEL FThis recommendation is based on the original rental pick up location set as 3250 N Kedzie and you transferred my pick up to 2855 W Harrsion, which is a significant distance away. When I arrived at Harrision, the equipment had not been returned and was not ready. I called customer service and waited on hold for over an hour and no one answered. I took an uber back up toe 3250 N Kedize and the staff there was very helpful. They had a truck, but I could't keep the 1 way rental/drop off to Lombard. I had to pay $30 in Uber costs to Harrison without getting equipment and then it took 2 hours to drive back the truck to 3250 kedize, along with $20 in personal gas costs. Please reimburse me $50 for this mistake. Merci.
Seth TMobile return was not great. I like the concept a lot and it is very convenient, but the app does not perform well and crashed several times. I had to repeat steps several times and ultimately I received no confirmation that my return processed successfully. Since the location was closed I could not get confirmation from a person and just had to hope for the best.
Patrick BThe only thing is that the update texts are VERY delayed. I'll get a text that the pick up or the drop off happened about 12 hours after it actually happened. I didn't know the drop off had happened and had to call to confirm. If the systems could be updated the experience would be even better. Merci.

JOSE G | Expérience généraleWe arrived after office hours to load things in, assuming that with storage access open until 10, we would have no problems. Unfortunately, the larger sliding load-in doors did not open, and we couldn't get in contact with anyone to sort out what to do. We made it work with the regular single door, but it was definitely an annoying (though small) inconvenience. The zip tie was still left on the locker, which I thought meant it still was not ready for use, and the dimensions of the space were not as expected. Granted, I may be partially to blame for this part, as I thought it would be 10' horizontally, not vertically. The combination of all these smaller things paired with the general stress that comes with moving just made for not the best experience, and I will have to move my items out to a bigger unit.

My friend was right next to me and he witnessed the whole thing. I would definitely not do business there again and would definitely not recommend that location to ANYONE!
matthew a | Premières impressionsIn person, the staff were "helpful and friendly", but they were unreachable by phone, and the former manager was unresponsive to many emails I sent, and unresponsive to after-hours calls I made when 7-9pm after-hrs access didn't always work, causing return trips the next day and hours lost. This past weekend, I had both a locker and a truck rental, and attempted to reach branch staff more than 10 times by phone, and all calls rolled unanswered to the national help line after 5-7 local unanswered "rings". Over 7 months, callls to branch during business hours were answered in-branch less than 5 % of the time. My issue this past weekend was with a 15' truck with an undisclosed 3' x 6" open gash in roof hidden by door when retracted, and not visible from outside unless a ladder was used, but which let rain water drain in on contents while driving in Saturday's rain, causing me to pull over in shelter and delay my delivery an extra day. re: storage unit, my rent was just increased after only seven months, so I just chose a less expensive competitor this week.

This later caused issues with our auto payment - we never received payment reminders via email or text and our payment didn't go through. when we came to move out, the elevator was broken and we had to move our stuff down the stairs. The manager said he's busy and will come the next day to figure it out but we already rented everything and made arrangements. Seems like this location has a lot of technical issues from our few experiences there.

Also, I know it is almost impossible to control and having them is a courtesy, but the lack of moving dollies stored by the door was an issue. When I made my truck reservation, I saw a message on the site that said you could get a month of storage free with a truck rental. So I did that. I was then very surprised when I arrived at the storage facility, saw even more signs advertising this special, and the full amount was charged to my account anyway. I went to the office to try to straighten this out and get the special I ordered and was given absolutely no help at all. Nearly every response to my questions were "I don't know". The best she said she could do was offer me a free lock. (?) Which I don't need since that already came with the unit and doesn't at all solve the problem. I then had an issue with the access code to the unit. I showed the same employee my access code and asked for assistance since it wasn't working. She again responded with "I don't know" and mentioned something about purchasing extended hours access...which I have no idea why I would need since it was not even close to being after 10pm. Thankfully I was able to get in myself, but I cannot in good conscience recommend this place to someone else after the terrible experience we had. If this issue was resolved, I would raise my rating, but as of right now this place barely earned 1 star.

I went inside to pick up a rental truck and check-in for my rental unit to provide my renters insurance, redeem my free lock and the free month of storage email that I recieved after renting the truck. I was told I needed to get back in line to handle my rental unit after picking up my vehicle because there was a line. I went to the truck and pulled it up to the entrance and the door was already locked 15 minutes early. I stopped an associate to ask if I can be let in, I was told no and that my lock would be in the storage unit. When I found my unit there was no lock provided, I then pressed the customer service button in the facility and was told to come back to the store. I retrieved the lock but was refused when I tried to discuss the free storage promotion. Once I moved my belongings in, I realized that the latch was stuck and I could not close it to lock it. My husband had to run to a gas station to get WD40 just to get the latch unstuck. Overall, it was a very negative experience.

However my poor rating goes to the first staff I had to encounter after being in line for about 20 minutes. She wasn't professional and respectful. Upon arriving at the counter, I said I'm here for my storage reservation. She didn't take the time to look at her screen and check, replying "we do not have any available storage" without asking me what specifically I was looking for. I reminded her about my reservation and that I checked two times over the phone, a few days prior to that day and she showed no concern, referring me to the 800 number even though she has full access to that facility on Kedzie. I said, can you offer me something else since I counted on this space and I just got less attention and care as if she just wanted to skip serving me as a customer. she insisted no one has moved as of today, then no unit were to be available. I had a feeling she wasn't doing her job. Asking to speak to her manager, Charles, I finally realized that they do have two units available. Charles was very professional and I'm only dissatisfied with the staff poor communication and service. I had put all the efforts to reserve a space, and even double checking by calling the 800 number and the facility itself, and had I not been helped by the manager, who was temporarily outside at the time of this whole encounter, all my moving plans would've been ruined. It's the first time I've had to experience such attitude at a uhaul. Merci!

The staff was amazing they are very fun and make great jokes. That hill at the front is a bit treacherous but i made it up fine with out any damage to my garbage. I also rented the biggest Uhaul truck I have ever driven there and that was very intimidating but i made it back safely. Great experience thanks for holding my crap!
