When I arrived, there was no employee to help at the desk. I looked around the area and saw no one. I called 3 times, and the phone just rang, with no one around. Another customer came in looking to purchase boxes, and she couldn't locate an employee either. I looked outside, and found an employee out back smoking. He came inside, smelling very strongly of cigarettes. He reported that there was supposed to be another lady working at the desk, and there wasn't. A few minutes later, the lady came back, driving a UHaul van, after having left the center unattended to picked up Burger King in the UHaul. She made a joke about it, telling us how she needed to get some dinner and how she couldn't wait to eat her food. Both employees were unprofessional and extremely unfocused on their job. This was a very poor experience.

I picked up a truck in the morning around 8:00 AM on Sunday, 12/1/24. The gentleman behind the counter who checked me in did a great job. He was courteous and made sure everything was set and ready to go with my truck. I returned the same day around 4:45 PM to turn my truck in. The guy who checked me back in was sitting in another truck and just sat there for several minutes before getting out and walking over. He was still smoking a cigarette when we approached me about turning my truck in. I didn't even know if we worked there or was just some guy walking over at that point. Not very professional at all. Other than that, it was a very good experience.

Even when I return to turn in the vehicle rental, I arrived and saw her sitting at the desk and asked if she was available to help and clearly said "no" and just sat there in front of her screen not doing anything after about five minutes she finally decided to help me.

VERNA Mthe truck had way less gas than the printout that was provided to me at the rental. I informed the leasing a agent about this and she accompanied me to the truck to verify that it was indeed way lower than what was indicated on the provided printout. I asked her to change the document detail and she responded that she did not know how as she is a new employee. She informed me that i could not the discrepancy via the link that was sent to my cell phone; i tried to do so without success. When i informed her of this and attempted to just switch to a truck that has the correct gas amount she demonstrated a negative attitude and refused to only offering a credit if i returned the truck with more gas than was indicated on the paper that she gave me. I asked for her name and she said only Lily. This young lady exhibited total incompetence and poor customer service skills.

RAY LI hated that the back door to the facility were double doors, but only one door was usable. The other door is screwed into the door frame. Really hard to move big items through one door that i cant prop open. I even dropped a piece of furniture off my cart because of the door. I did check in but regardless the alarm kept going off after i open the door with my code. Tried calling on the intercom for help, nobody answered. Little things like that really make the moving process more stressful then it already is.

LA TGMC Cargo Van rented was in acceptable condition except for constant low oil life warnings, intermittent dash digital displays and a burned out right rear turn signal lamp. Issues were reported to the check in representative who appeared indifferent to the reports. The check in agent was unable to determine from the U-Haul app what my exact driven milage was and what other charges were applicable when asked. I was told to wait for the mailed receipt and call back if I had any questions.
Marc DI did not receive my deposit put on the truck on 10/4/23. I did not receive a probation of my storage fee I was charged $125 on 10/1 and removed my things from storage on 10/3/24. I also did not receive my one month free for storage. I'm very disappointed and will be reporting this location to the better business bureau.

David DI couldn't wait to move the reminder of my things to my new storage unit at CubeSmart. Although the rates are better at U-Haul the customer service and experience has been trash as per usual. Within the first month of me renting a unit I had another unit rented out in my name by an employee. The whole mess was handled poorly in my opinion. And the lack of proper and professional communication from the manager of the location was telling of how this location is run.

CHRISTOPHER NI was initially instructed to go to a self pickup lot to get the truck. I was then told by the U-Haul phone operator they never set up the self pickup when I made the reservation. I was told I had to then travel to another site to get a truck, after spending an hour at the self service lot. Very poorly handled reservation.
Jeffrey KThe truck was not in great shape. The steering was sloppy -- I've driven trucks like this before so I knew what to expect and this was below average. Also, the gas gauge/electronic "miles to empty" was not working right. The woman who checked me in for my rental didn't tell me that you would be texting me something to check BEFORE I left the parking lot with the truck -- didn't see it until I reached my destination. Worst of all, I looked for a way to contact UHaul about all of this and didn't find an email address on the website where I could send a message without choosing a "product" for more information. When I called, I was told to email uhaul_cares@uhaul.com. I did that and got the email returned. I will likely not use UHaul again.

And I think the service and support have only improved in this time, based on my experience. Only caveat: There was a miscommunication with my return date. I was told at the desk the truck was due on Tuesday by 130. When it was apparently due on Monday at 130. I've inquired to dispute the charge, since I was returned the truck Tuesday morning (after having it at the facility Monday morning)....and only kept it the extra day, understanding I had that extra day.

I was told to come back later as they would have to call IT, and when I came back that day it was still not working. It was definitely frustrating both for me and the person helping me (I will say they were very helpful) but there wasn't anything they could do. Definitely a technology issue but led to a horrible experience.

I feel it is important to bring this issue to your attention so that it can be addressed and improved for future customers. Firstly, the parking situation is frustrating. Having to park on the street and then walk to the entrance is inconvenient, especially when carrying large or heavy items. Additionally, the double doors at the entrance only open one at a time, causing a bottleneck and making it difficult to maneuver items inside. Furthermore, the door that does open has no way to hold it open, making it challenging to enter with multiple items. Moreover, the sidewalks leading to the entrance are crooked and cracked, making it even more difficult to navigate with a cart or items on wheels. It is also concerning for safety reasons, as someone could potentially trip and get hurt. I understand that the facility is well-maintained and the staff is wonderful, but the entrance on the back of the building is very disappointing. To be honest, if I wasn't in a hurry, I would have canceled my rental and looked for another facility with a more convenient entrance. I believe that the entrance should be a priority for any storage facility, as it is the first point of contact for customers and can greatly affect their overall experience. I hope that you will take my feedback into consideration and make improvements to the entrance of your facility. I value your services, but I cannot overlook the inconvenience and frustration caused by the current entrance situation. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to hearing back from you and seeing improvements made to the entrance in the future.

The facility is clean,, secure and well maintained. They also have PLENTY of moving carts available (unlike other facilities I won't name). The only drawback is lack of parking. I don't have a car so that's not an issue - BUT - if you rent a truck and you're planning on meeting movers or helpers, you should be forewarned that you cannot park on Dempster or on the side street adjacent to U-Haul - so time your meetups accordingly or be prepared to park around the corner on Greenwood and wait. It would help if they had a few designated parking spots available.

There is no parking in the lot, and staff were rude about us parking temporarily to check in. My partner and I had rented a truck to move the items out of my unit. We were unable to e-check in for our rental and had to go in to the office. Staff were more concerned with personal phone calls and conversations than trying to check in guests. The truck we were given had broken glass, a straight razor blade and various nails and screws in the back and on the ramp. The parking lot was littered with similar items and smelled strongly of vomit while picking up our truck. The mobile check out process for the actual unit was easy and convenient.
