The people were nice, but the U-Haul app was difficult to use; I could not get my truck using only the app and had to get the truck at the counter instead. This is especially problematic considering COVID-19. Also, the location of the after hours key return box is very hard to find and poorly labeled. Food trucks though and very convenient service otherwise.

The sensor light for my trailer was not working and a fuse had to be changed. It took over an hour to diagnose and fix the problem. Which put us off our move schedule. It was also not mentioned in the rental agreement that the attaching of the car to the trailer was not included in the quoted price.

The truck was not cleaned garbage left from the previous person. Having to use the app to check the truck for damage myself was aggrevating it took me an addition 15 minutes that I had not planned for because there was so much unmarked damage on the truck that I did not want to be held accountable for. It felt like you are moving the work load off your employees and onto the customer.

I was very happy with this facility in the past, where I was helped by humans. I honestly believe your service rate from me drop to POOR because of technology to self -serve. Your workers needs to be able to walk customers thru the self/serve links and not just say use the link to check the truck.. What link??? Point and show it to me.. load it up with me and give me a quick walk thru... that’s all consumers are asking—- direct me and I’ll use self-service..

I had trouble with the Share Location button on the after hours return site. Replied HELP to your text, got no reply. Sent a picture of mileage and fuel indicator, and still got hit with $20 fee on a $29 dollar rental. Staff has to check in the truck the next day anyway, so the policy looks like a BS cash grab.

Clean the inside of the vans. I’ve used this location many times and am always satisfied especially with the customer service. However, the cargo van I received today was a little filthy on the inside from the previous user.

Guy at desk had a horrible attitude. I also had to wait in a line for a truck I already reserved. There has to be a simpler process? The first truck he pulled out sounded horrible. You could clearly hear that that muffler was broken. After having to state my case the guy begrudgingly swapped the truck for one of the other 7 sitting on the lot! PS Young lady in front of me came back to the counter because the storage unit she just rented was dirty and had bugs. The employee said it 'probably had not been cleaned and his Manager was at home sleeping." She got a refund and had to leave. Really- your Manager cannot run a tighter ship?

Due to the location of the u-haul rental center, staff should know the local truck routes in order to inform customers of the safe routes to transit under the metra and cta bridges.

The location and people were amazing! The equipment was HORRIIBLE!!! The steering on the truck was so loose it was extremely hard to control it both Empty and loaded. I nearly crashed on multiple occasions as it was nearly impossible to maintain my lane. I made a comment to the manager of the location and they said they’ll take a look and take care of it.

Easy unloading in the dock. Elevator worked and held 3 carts at a time. Carts were nice. Easy to work and finished rather quickly.

The facilities was amazing, staff was professional. However, there were three unexpected charges: #1 Cleaning fee - but it was clean and moving pads were folded #2 After hours fee - accepted 24/7 but 'share' is not same as 'return' #3 Fuel reversal fee - picked up the truck empty and returned it empty. These three fees were unexpected and created a poor customer experience. Given a choice, I would choose another location for my future U-Haul needs. And because of this experience, I will shop other providers instead of automatically going to U-Haul first.

Clean vehicle interiors at least. I didn’t want to touch the interior of the vehicle because it seemed like someone sneezed all over the cabin. The exterior and the cargo bed of the van was dirty.

The truck had a hole in it and was leaking water into the back. I was trying to use the quick checkout option but it seemed to freeze up so I had to go inside and have an employee set me up with the truck. She was having trouble too because the Uhaul computer system was so slow. I've rented trucks from this location several times and the employees are always pretty helpful but it's laid out terribly. I've never been there without seeing someone in a car or a truck backing up around a corner because they've gone the wrong way.

When I first arrived only one emploee was their and he stated that he was new and I would have to wait. Not a big deal. The young lady who coukd help comes in 10 minutes later but unfortunately she's in th middle of helping another customer. About 5 minutes later it's my turn. afurst you cant find my reservation even though I have the confirmation number and then you asked me for another persons contact information, when I ask why you need this information Im told because its company policy, that diesnt make any sense. So when I read the contract the info is needed in case you cant contact me, why not just say that.

Trailer was given to us in an unsafe condition with a bad axle and broken springs. It put us in a unsafe position. We broke down twice due to it before we found the cause of the problem luckily we just avoided a serious accident. We asked for compensation U-Haul declined. I guess it the company policy to put people in an unsafe position and not be responsible for their added cost

I needed to extend my contract, they gave me a contact number. I tried it numerous times and no one answered. Then left me a message saying I was last and would be charged additional days. Pick up the phone or don’t put you as the contact.

The day before my move date I received a call from U-Haul telling me the truck would have to be picked up at a different location then the location I near where the home I was moving was at. It was an hour away from the home. This was very time consuming. The guys were great at the office I picked the truck and car hauler at.

If you had given us a trucks that was air tight instead of leaking water things would have been much better. The rain came in and we were quite wet by the end of the trip. Some of my boxes and contents got wet,as well.

The Manager Adam makes serious errors promises to correct them & never keeps his word. He tried to clean it up w/free rent but that won't cover ANYTHING I LOST due to water damage HE KNEW ABOUT BEFORE

Bad customer service. Central Uhaul takes no accountability for customer satisfaction. Do not use this company in the Midwest region, I’m having to go to arbitration to get a refund.

The lack of customer parking made things difficult. Even though there is limited street parking, traffic makes it challenging to use when moving storage items to a vehicle.
