I have dealt with the people running the Dempster location for many years and in different contexts. The are uniformly inefficient, disengaged, unhelpful and generally surely.

I have rented about 10 vans in the past three years or so from this location and they have always been good. My experience today put such a bad taste in my mouth that I may not go back. A ridiculous amount of verifying in 10 degree weather. The van use came back from an earlier rental. I was asked to take photos of any damage to the van before leaving. I was also asked to verify the mileage and gas. I was told there was a 1/4 tank, but it was below that. The van was dirty and had a fair amount of snow, road salt and slush to give it a proper look over. I was instructed to follow these prompts, but I got to a point where I couldn't take any more pictures. When I went back in the store to dispute the gas level and the verification, the manager told me not to worry about it and to return the van with what I thought the gas level was at. What was the point of having me do all of this b.s., if it really didn't matter? Very frustrated with the ‘newer manager'.

To Whom it may Concern This company has to go through a MAJOR training for their staff. They don't care about customers' service or their job, horrible, horrible, horrible on-site service, no pride in their work. I have rented u Haul different times different places over the year, same nothing has changed. I always rent from HomeDepot Penske several times a year. This time didnt have any trucks available and that how endup at u-hal. Im willing to talk to someone about my experience. 773 742 6728. Gentleman who greeted me and checked me in was very friendly and patient with me. I don't have his name handy but please thank him for me. Also, the gentleman that received my returned equipment was very helpful and polite. He was so efficient and went through everything quick enough since it was freezing cold. I truly appreciated that!

Adam showed great customer service skills. Had a minor problem ( the location) 1st. the store was closed and the only drop box I seen was an regular unlocked mail box for store; however, the u-haul representative later on that night quickly gave another location. Thanks so much for Swift representative that get the job done. 2nd. Location given the male representative was very hospitable.

I did NOT use uhaul. The order has nothing tondo with me. I called and reported the issue. I was told my email was removed from the order, and yet I have been receiving information about this rental all day. I will be checking my credit cards to be sure you have not falsely charged me. Omit the pay by mile requirement. This was not made clear during the booking process, so it felt like a sneaky surprise. Also standard car rentals do not charge by mile. If I knew sooner, I would've chosen a more convenient service with a different company.

Employees often aren't wearing a mask AEG. We walk in. And there's no way to do a contactless pickup even if you pay in advance, you need to enter the office to sign or pay. This should be easier

I had to have Lock-out come: when I closed the driver side door with my stuff and key in the cab- it automatically locked! The serviceman mentioned that he had seen that before. It was really annoying to have to wait for this service due to a faulty lock.

After waiting 10 minutes for someone to help me at return I went inside to find everyone sitting around chatting. “I'll be back, I gotta help this customer “ was what the guy said after I waited another couple minutes inside. Not a very customer friendly business

Please read this! When a Ubox arrives, since U-Haul doesn't contact the mover, they need to let the customer know it has arrived. My box sat for 3 days in Indio, Ca until I found it. Nobody called me or the mover. This is poor customer service by U-Haul.

The truck ran well and got the job done. What could've been better was the accuracy of the condition. The photos I had for pick up were of a brand new truck. What I picked up had major damage on all sides and I spent an extra 45 minutes taking pictures and entering comments.

The van was quite dirty on the outside which is fine, especially in winter. But there was a layer of dirt (soil rather) in the bed of the van, it had definitely not been cleaned out after the last rental.

You should have two lines. One for people with a reservation and one for walk-ins. If you specify a time on your reservation and still have to wait in long lines that it frustrating.

Unreasonable to charge $8.95 for gas when I drove a couch 10 miles and the dial didn't change at all (I had pictures to prove it). Won't be using U-Haul again. Friendly employees though!

Very happy with the service at this location. U-Haul's after hours return system has some bugs. You advertise to simply go to the website to complete the return - but nowhere do you provide directions that this must be done immediately at the return site while you still have access to the vehicle. I had taken pictures of odometer and fuel gage. Locked the vehicle, put the key in the drop off and headed home. Immediately started the return process only to find I have to scan the bar code at the facility. so I get back in my car after a very long day of moving so that I can scan the bar code. Then as I progress through the return, instructed to take numerous pictures of odometer, fuel gage and truck condition. There is no way to upload the pictures I had already taken. The app only allows photos taken through the app. BUT, I have already locked the truck and returned the keys. The system is fairly easy to use - but U-Haul needs to provide much more specific directions on the process of completing an after hours return - this is NOT clearly stated anywhere in the paperwork, you only find that out after it is too late to do anything about it.

The tow dolly kept blowing fuses in our vehicle for the tail lamps. Trying to figure out the issue, I ended up buying a 7-4 pin adapter thinking the one we had was bad. They wouldn't let us borrow one. We figured out it was the trailer after blowing 2 fuses. We switched trailers and were able to go. It extended our time by probably close to an hour

The storage unit I was assigned was very close to the door so that we could move things in and out easily. I felt very secure leaving all my belongings there for two months while I looked for a place to live. When it was time to move out, I was very happy with the professionalism of the staff and especially the manager, who was very helpful. Thank you for an awesome experience.

The lack of customer parking made things difficult. Even though there is limited street parking, traffic makes it challenging to use when moving storage items to a vehicle.
