The fuel gauge on the truck drops after you start driving. It looks like it has more when you drive off for the first time.

Depended on who waited on you from one day to the next as for consistency for required insurance, etc. When I returned the truck I heard people renting that turned down insurance coverage that one person told me I didn't have to take the first day I was there but the day I came back to rent, I was told by someone else it was required and then heard others turn it down with only being told they would be responsible for any damage. I feel like at the least, my $11 should be refunded. Then they accused me of hitting a vehicle when I left with the truck - the girls kind of had a little attitude. If I have other options, will for sure go somewhere else.

Major pothole in asphalt by where trailer drop off is. It is like a 2' diameter around 6-8" deep. Having that fixed should be a priority, I seen it luckily and slowed down to go through it, had to, because that area was the only spot left where they wanted me to drop the trailer.

I may have missed it… But when I ordered the trailer online it said it was 6' x 12'. That was more the enough space for what I had to load. However, the lift gate/ramp opening was only 57". You may want to clarify this better.

The service I received was great! The service representative was courteous and extremely helpful. The person who accepted my equipment return was also very courteous and helpful. I asked for a appliance dolly and they said they were out. How do you rent out more them you have. made our job a lot harder. They charged me for 8 gallons of gas and I only went 21 miles plus I also put 25 dollars in the tank. They were will busy and only had one girl behind the counter. I usually check the gas but I got in a hurry because of how long it took to get waited on and I just forgot to check it. You made a mistake and because I forgot to check it cost me 36 dollars. the truck was horrible/had to clean it out so I would not get a cleaning fee. Improve customer service. I brought my car in at 7am on a Tuesday and was told the hitch would be completed by that evening. I received a call at 1pm saying that it wouldn't be finished until the next morning before noon. This was because of short staffing. I explained that I had a morning appointment the next day and an afternoon appointment and would if cancel the morning appointment. By 1pm the next day I had not received any communication about the further delay. This location never answers their phone, letting it roll to a central number that cannot ever help. I called the cell phone from the call the previous day. That person was home and gave me another cell number to call. The person that answered was very curt and did not appolgize for the lack of communication. She was very rude saying that the delay was not her fault because they were so busy and she needed more time. I said that I would then need to cancel another appointment which was met with no response. I said then that I supposed it would be ready in the morning and she reacted very angried that that is not what she said and it would be ready that night. I received a call from her that it was ready at 6:35 that night which was too late to arrange a ride. When I arrived in the morning, the hitch was missing the ball attachment that I had to point out to the staff. I used this location previously to rent a truck. The customer service was not this bad but still not pleasant.

The U-Haul phone tree is a big waste of time when you need to speak with someone at the location. I could not get anyone to answer locally when I needed eyes on the ground to verify the return of a trailer I needed. Cost me a day of work. The folks at the location were great. But too busy to answer the phone. Understaffed?

The rental truck was not maintained properly, which almost resulted in an extremely serious accident. Repeated attempts to discuss this issue with an appropriate U Haul team member were ignored. I will not rent from U Haul ever again and strongly encourage others to rent elsewhere.

Previous user of truck didn't refill so I had to fill up right away and then once en route because truck got lower MPG (@ 8) than U-Haul employee estimated (10). Otherwise, everything went smoothly at pickup and drop off.

never she was all I got check engine light came on. I took it to AutoZone like they asked and it was a Cadillac converter so I had to take it back. They gave me another truck even though at the beginning I didn't want a big U-Haul I just wanted to regular truck. I didn't have that much stuff, so I had to waste more money that I didn't have because they don't take cash app I had to pay extra hundred dollar deposit and then when I turned in the vehicle they never gave me my money back, so yeah this was not what I've expected

Mark at inside counter was extremely RUDE and acted inconvenienced when I "bothered" him trying to finalize my move-in. He took one look at my appearance (tattoos,facial piercings) and treated me poorly UNTIL he realized I really was a paid customer who is also a disabled US Army veteran. Then he was suddenly helpful but the damage was done, I would NOT recommend this site for storage needs and I'm a level 6 Google Maps Local Guide so I will reflect this information there so others will be wary.

This U-HAUL facility is very proximal to USI which makes the storage unit convenient. There is one observation I will provide. It's a management issue. As I referenced earlier, this U-Haul site makes it a high target location, especially on a Saturday and the first Saturday of the month. Unfortunately, there were only two U-Haul staff present: one that handled finalizing the reservations and one that checked in and checked out the equipment. This Riverside Avenue facility, on May 06, was almost standing room only! Both of these individuals should be commended for their incredible and outstanding customer service under very stressful conditions! They should further be provided with a paid day off in recognition of their manifesting the values of the U-Haul community. Not one time did their demeanor of service and attentive assistance waver! Not one time! While I know these facilities are locally owned, management at the micro and macro levels should ensure their facilities are sufficiently staffed, especially when it's the first Saturday of the month.

The website is very misleading. The unit we rented said 1-2 bedrooms with about 1200 sq ft. Went to pick up the lock and the inside signs said a studio. The unit barely would fit a studio apt. Asked to upgrade to a bigger unit and was told none were available but I could rent a second unit if I needed. She said I could do it online since it was closing and I wasn't 100 % sure. Moved in what I could and rented a second unit. I came with my bigger furniture to move in the unit, but couldn't access the ramp to the second floor because it was after 7pm. But I was told I would have 24 hr access to my second floor units. That was another lie. Called the GM like the sign said and she was the rudest person I've ever dealt with. Basically it was my problems. She never even apologized for the inconvenience. Told me to carry it up the stairs. I'm 4'11" and it was a French door refrigerator. I needed these units for a few months but I'll be taking my business elsewhere next month. And I'll be reviewing your business on yelp, Google, FB and every other site I can find.

I needed the 10x15 size and was told one was available at the facility. As I attempted to book it online, the unit was not available. An employee kindly assisted me through the online process and told me to book the 5x5 and when I arrive to the facility they would get me in the 10x15 and I would pay the difference at that time. I booked the 5x5 online which included a free lock for booking online. Once at the facility to finish and switch out the reservation for the 10x15 a different employee assisted. She made the switch. After reviewing the online receipt I noticed the employee charged me for a lock which I already got free for booking online. I asked to be refunded for the lock since I got it free online. She said to do so, she would have to refund the entire amount then charge my card again for the amount without the lock. This was an unacceptable process as I would have to wait a few days for the first authorization to drop from my account. I asked if she could just give us enough boxes for the over charge and she said she could not but would have a manager contact me. It has been two days and I still haven't been contacted. This was not an overall positive experience. Nor is it acceptable for a company to have a promotion and not figure out how to honor without inconveniencing the customer. Moving is expensive and stressful. A company's processes should not make doing business with a customer, difficult for the customer.

When I ordered the unit online it said that it was climate controlled, a lock would be in the unit, and to go and put my code in. When I arrived my code did not work, there was not a lock in the unit, and it was definitely not climate controlled. I went downstairs to the desk to see what was going on with my code and where I could find the lock and the general manager(that's the shirt the person was wearing) was extremely snarky and rude about why my code did not work. I did not plan to leave a negative review hoping that over time things would get better and I'd be able to leave a 5 ⭐️ review but I received a text asking for a review.

When we first got the unit, the information about the 24 hr access was not explained very well. We could not get in when we tried. We were there early to finish unloading the truck but could not get in. We were not charged for being late because of unloading the vehicle. We tried to enter the unit a second time after hours and still could not get in. When making the payment, the after hours was taken off and the first fee was refunded.

At one point I did have a problem where the computer system had messed up and had indicated I was no longer paying. That was fixed quickly and I wish I knew the name of the lady that fixed it for me. Other than that my time was it there was completely stress-free and I greatly appreciate it.

Information given seemed simple enough but key details were not conveyed. I was told to access the building through a certain door only to find out that door doesn't work how it's supposed to when trying to move in. Also it was never mentioned a circular lock was required until after I had put on my own and had to get someone to take the office lock off.

My furniture and beds got ruined in the unit and I was told that there is no place to put my items that were molded so I had to put them n my vehicle with mold all over them and dispose them which isn't fair because it was the storage unit that ruined them and I had to take them off instead of putting them in the dumpster at the facility. Also, some of the workers are NOT PEOPLE FRIENDLY AND SHOULD NOT BE WORKING AT A PUBLIC PLACE!

Staff was very rude. Called for a promotion with a full move one way, when we go to check in they told us that corporate does not know what they are talking about because they are not here and do not work the front desk.. They can not give us the promotion even with availability open. Then ended up charging us more because they did not know how to transfer the account to a smaller unit. I have been a uhaul customer for over 15 years and this was by far the worst experience I have had.

U-Haul of Evansville is an "Outstanding Storage Facility"! We have used that facility (3) different times in the last (5) years for my Mother's personal items. Somehow, my reservation was lost and when my friend, who was my contact, went to measure a piece in storage, there was a lock on the door. It wasn't my fault, as I didn't delete the account or close it. It was UHaul's fault. I will credit the desk person with being very helpful and forthright. She didn't charge me for last month. But, now I can't use my old contact, who is a trusted friend and who has a key to the place. I was told I had to use a new one. This is preposterous. There was no reason for me change that was given and this person I have as my contact I have known well for over 15 years. Please find a reason and explain to me why I can't use the person I trust the most in my life as my contact. Mind you, he is a site supervisor for a security company and has passed multiple background checks for his jobs, so to that end, I'm angry. You get three stars because the desk person (I don't remember her name) was excellent in her customer service.

Using uhaul is never a problem, same cannot be said about the staff. Equipment and van wise: the van was so much better than the truck and I will definitely be using it again. The storage was easy to get to and there was carts to help load it. I did not know I only made a reservation for the storage and the only problem I had was the lady (Jonnie) was really rude. Too much attitude and not enough caring. Other than that uhaul is the best at moving!

I was happy with my prior experiences and even tho it was 15 or 20 yrs ago I thought I'd see if you could do it again. In fact it was this same Uhaul store I used as well. Place still looks clean and well maintained and I don't have much but feel comfy using yall again cause some these storage places are run down or often robbed lack of security. There was mouse poop and roaches in my things after moving it out. I complained once earlier this year and it was ignored. When I was moving out the staff left the office and stopped answering the phones. They left the lock on my unit after I was paid up for over a week. No one noted that I left the facility even though I did inform them and the company attempted to charge me again. You charge a lot of money for my things to be messed up. The manager told me I should have paid extra for coverage for something that they clearly knew was going to happen. If I had been told it was a guarantee I would have, I guess. Katie wasn't interested in "resolving my dispute" but we will contact a lawyer concerning U-Hauls "pest free facility"

Although the girl in the office was very efficient there was the need for another customer service employee. Was approx a 30 minute wait. The online checkin didn't work well. Also a female employee was to bring the truck around to us. After waiting an addl 25 minutes I walked back to find her sitting in a truck listening to the radio playing on her cell phone. I was not the only customer waiting. I preferred renting a truck in Jasper IN but was inconvenient to put the extra miles on it since the move was contained in Evansville IN. Pay for more help!!!! And the employee that did help me needs a raise. She was very knowledgeable and courteous while under stressful conditions!!!

I rented the storage unit and my parents rented the trailer to help me move. My experience was fine but my parents had one incident. After hooking up the trailer my parents, and not the employees, noticed one of the rear brake lights were out. They brought it to a female employee's attention and was told that "it didn't matter because it was daylight."

I use to love this uhaul an the staff but for the past two months I can truly say the staff is not all that friendly. I won storage lockers thru an auction an uhaul is the very first place in 7 years I've been buying units that doesnt allow u to access these lockers when the office is closed. I bought 4 from the riverside location an 4 from other storage places. When people have jobs an also buys these it truly causes issues not to mention the weather causing the locations to close earlier has truly caused some issues I had to extend my uhaul 3 extra days there then leaving me behind to move my other 4 lockers. An when I would call the local location was just rude an you all expect me to except you all making changes do to weather etc but it was a problem when I had to make changes. Not to mention I am wheel chair bound so I couldnt even clean out or assist with getting these lockers out because u all are not handicapped accessible. Even the ramp in the back has a few stairs leaving me to have to depend on someone to assist me or to pay others to help which is wat I have had to do. I've spent a lot of money with this location over he past 2 years an with the past 2 to 3 months I've learned that uhaul may not be the company for me to use for my small business because I've now spent over 450 dollars in less then a month truly crazy honestly an to have to deal with peoples rudeness an attitudes

Call the hotline and filed a formal complaint, hallways were exceptionally poor lighting. No lighting inside the units. Lights turned off while you're still working in the unit hallway lights worked. The men and the outside workers that worked with the trucks trailers we're very nice and helpful and exceptionally kind the office workers were the exact polar opposite very rude very ugly very demanding very slow. The manager was horrible. Doors were not open access was not available at their posted opening time access was closed and restricted 30 to 45 minutes before posted closing time. Hours of operation were not honored it was whatever was convenient for the employees. Very very overpriced for the service in the amount of space rented {period} would never rent from this location ever again may never consider renting U-Haul again.

Upon arrival unit still had stuff from prior renter. Talk to front desk they wanted me to take one on 1st floor at around $30 higher per month. I said you should give me that at same price. Would not so I removed the junk from room and placed in hall. While moving in they sent someone up to haul to dumpster. Almost missed my rental truck return time.

I resnted a unit only to find a lock on it. Because it was a personal lock they were unable to.remove it. They offered to give me a larger unit because the size unit I needed wasn't available. When we got to the larger unit, it had furniture, clothes and debris in it.i was told I would have to move out of the larger unit once a smaller unit became available. I wasn't willing to move my furniture twice. I cancelled my reservation!! I'm now looking elsewhere.

My personal experience wasn't that great. There was a whole thing where Everytime I came to town it seemed I couldn't access my belongings my swipey card didn't work after hours. I don't remember that being explained to me it said nothing about this in my contract I called an after hour number but couldn't get an answer.the online payment site was hard to use and charged me a late fee I never was able to get resolved. I rented on a holiday weekend when other facilities were closed so that was a convince others don't offer. The unit I had was very large at a very good rate. The staff at the office has always been more then helpful and very friendly.. I will always come here to get excite to impatience or anger; annoy trucks and accessories to haul but I would never recommend a storage here.

Had an absolutely terrible experience at Riverside Dr. location in Evansville, IN. Absolutely no customer service and no direction were given to me upon arrival of picking up the UHAUL truck and storage unit. Upon arriving we waited in line for 30 + minutes with only one other customer in front of us Of which 3 employees were standing around or sitting down behind the counter. The card machine was not working properly. That along with being basically ignored when we walked in the door and were the only ones standing in line was unacceptable. We were told after leaving with the truck that upon arriving with the truck we would then get further instructions and assistance with the storage unit I reserved. We arrived and once again were ignored by the blonde lady behind the counter. We received absolutely little to no instructions on how to gain access to the storage unit. We got to the storage unit and there was a lock on the door that was needing a key that no one told us about prior or offered assistance with and the store was closing in 10 minutes. I had to physically go down to the office and get assistance myself. The self check in process was terrible and I did not receive any account info or information on this process prior. I submitted it right at 8:00 PM the last possible time it was due before Being considered late. The unnecessary stress of the day did not help with my situation where I lost everything in a house fire 2 day's ago. I even expressed this to the manager behind the counter and he proceeded to down play my situation and make jokes about COVID-19. I will never be doing business there again and do not plan on keeping my storage unit more than just a few days before I will take my business elsewhere. I will not be paying anymore to this company and will refuse payment for next month storage unit rent and terminating my contract ASAP.

We had an indoor, climate controlled unit. U-Haul made it all simple. Rented the trailer, moved son from Indy to Evansville, emptied contents of trailer into storage unit at U-Haul&returned trailer.
