When I got there to pick up the truck, the lady working seemed to not wanna wait on me at all. She told me to grab my appliance dolley on my way out, but there weren't any where she said they were. She got really hateful when I told her they weren't there, and she had to get up to go find me one. The truck was in poor mechanical condition. The steering was really loose, and wandered all over the road. When I took the truck back, the guy walked out, opened the passenger door and said to leave the keys in it, and I was good to go on. I wanted to tell him about the front end, but he was too busy to listen to me. I will definitely not go back to this location the next time I need to rent a truck or trailer.Joseph E.

I reserved a trailer online to be picked up at a different location. When I got there they had no idea or record of the reservation. With the help of Uhaul support I found the trailer I rented but it was not easy or convenient. Never the less, the dealer where I rented the trailer was great.carl B.

This was the first bad experience I had with renting from u haul , when I returned trailer they said it was already checked back in and could figure out but said I was ok to leave , than I get notice that was way over charged for trailer being turn in fl witch was not correct, so was way over charged and have to wait for credit to be refundedMARK R.

I have a major issue with the "tie down rails" I have pictures. One side and the front has been replaced with boards running flat along the side. There was no way to tie down my furniture. I had damage because of this.Alex W.

Tell the Truth. When I reserve a 26 feet truck, you don't give me a 15 feet without telling me. Also you put charges on my credit card for things that I did not ask for. We had to make several trips, put things back in the house because the truck was too small. You charge me for a second day when you should not have due to the fact that I has to make several trips. I paid these guys 50 an hour for what should have been one load. I thought U-hall was cheaper but I was wrong. I worked Customet Service for 35 years for the airlines and I always told the Truth to my customers. If I order a size 20 shoes from Macy, they don't send be a size 6 and say "sorry" this is all we have. The agent told me over the phone, that they don't know anything about equipment change. It dose not tell them in the system. I been a U Hall for 30 years. Atlanta, Washington DC, South Carolina, Wisconsin, Indianapolis, and Evansville, Indiana. I rent all the equipment for my family because I hold the credit card. I will not do this anymore, if they choose U-Haul. I was very nice to the young lady. She could have told me that the equipment changed. I didn't see a 26foot truck. So I sent the driver to check. He called me and told me "it is 15 footer". This cost me alot more. That check-agent, misjudged me and wanted to decide what was best for me. Just because I was nice she thought I was trying to get one over on her. The whole situation was "bad". Many movers are asking for people to rent the truck and they will do the "move" but I say, "don't use U-Hall", you will loose money. #disappointedAntonette S.

When I walked in to check out my truck, no one was there. I Stood in the lobby for five minutes, and started wondering what I could have stolen. After 8 minutes I thought I may have missed a bell I'm supposed to ring and started looking around for some kind of way to alert them a customer was present. I called out, loudly, for anyone, several times. I stepped outside, called out "HELLOOOO? HELLO? ANYONE?" Started to feel like a Twilight Zone episode. I walked through they're maintenance area, hollering loudly. Walked through their offices, then the back rooms, all the while announcing myself very loudly so no one would be surprised a customer was where they shouldn't be. After almost FIFTEEN MINUTES I called U-Haul cust. serv. I explained everything I wrote here. THEN the "General Manager" Kathleen came around the corner with her colleagues, yucking it up. I asked why she left no one, that I could have stolen anything, could have took one or more of their computers, (which have loads of sensitive data) and she felt like I was being hostile. I promise you, I was genuinely concerned and cordial here, never raising my voice or using profane language. She then let me stand there longer, and had another General Manager Gary I think, who was visiting from another store that morning and wasn't familiar just yet with this store, and this whole process took another painful half hour. Over 45 minutes, and this was AFTER "checking in online," (so THAT bit is a joke). I drove the sickly 20ft truck down to Texas from Indiana with an engine light on that wouldn't quit, some indicator on the dash that constantly said "check gas cap," that I asked about prior to leaving their store and they said "don't worry about it." And the wipers were falling apart. I bought new wiper blades so I could see, and swore to God himself I'd never, ever, under any circumstance rent U-Haul again. What a disgrace. Kathleen should be ashamed. I read other reviews where there were similar experiences of unprofessional encounters. I'm over it. DON'T EVER USE U-HAUL. THEY'RE OUTDATED, THE TRUCK WAS FALLING APART. USE PENSKE OR PACK YOUR THINGS IN A POD, OR HIGHER MOVING GUYS.Benjamin P.

I understand that having no hitch stand on trailers is a safety decision by the company. But, it is incredibly annoying when you have to have the trailer hitched to a vehicle to load it and then unhitch them fully loaded without said hitch stand on the tongue of the trailer.Christopher B.
I have never had a good experience with this particular location. I also do not like having to provide a contact for verification when I am providing a state issued ID. All of my contacts were at work and couldn't not answer their phones so they weren't going to let me take the uhaul. Yet I could have done contactless pick up and I wouldn't have had to provide that information. It makes no sense. What if I had been a woman trying to leave an abusive relationship and didn't want anyone to know. That policy needs to be rethought.Abigail G.

The truck was fine and the online rental experience was fine. The customer service from those behind the counter is not great. They always seem annoyed and as if I am bothering them. When I went the pick up the truck today I told the lady what I was doing and she just looked at me. I waited, waited a few seconds more and the said my last name. That was apparently the magic word. Picked up at 415 wed due back thurs at 415 but thurs realized needed another day so called store. Ended up paying for 2nd day yet was told truck had to be back by 7am friday. Like whats the point? Paid for 24 hours yet was shorted 9 hours. Called customer service told them 7am return was absurd and i needed from 7 to 415 to finish my move and now had to go find another rental truck and either wanted my money back or any truck (that i paid for) to use until 415 but was granted neither. Said manager would call but would be in 48 hours which will be sunday. Little to late you think. I think not only should i get day 2( which was partial )refunded which is a no brainer but my entire bill since no one cared about my concerns, tried to resolve or follwed up. Poor poor customer service would be a understatement. Paid for 24 hours yet barely got half. 7am return ??? Cant access storage units in middle of the night had i known all this would have NEVER chose uhaul and unless im compensated fairly i never will again.Spencer P.

don't know if it's store policy or corp but I gave my credit card took pictures of me and id and was almost turned away because I didn't have an other contact number really after all this it came down to someone else saying they know me not that this is going to break your bank account but will not be a returning customer If I was plotting something I would be smart enough to have someone the store to call I almost felt violated when I left and I reserved several days in advance so I could quickly pickup truck just to find out that it still need to be hooked up to trailerRUSSELL M.

The equipment was a mess and dirty customer service was less than par and I came from out of town to take care of a move for my parents. I didnt have time to exchange equipment because of my timeline. I have done 8 military moves using Uhaul and never experienced this before. Uhaul changed my pickup location causing us to modify our plans causing me to be late picking up my van. After waiting in line I was informed that I was one hour and nine minutes late and they only hold a reservation for one hour. They did offer to rent me a truck half the size for more money. I will go out of my way not to use Uhaul in the future. The truck was out of alignment causing it to dart quickly when turning the wheel and the brakes made a loud grinding noise. I rented a truck at 8am and had the truck back the same day at 6pm. I never gave them a return time and let them know the truck would be back the same day..their response was it would just be one rental charge for the day as long as it was back the same day. So I returned the truck then when I get home I get an emailed receipt charging me for 2 rental periods and double the costs. THE WOMAN IN THE OFFICE IS VERY RUDE TO ME WHEN I CALL FOR QUESTIONS AND TELLS ME MY CONTRACT SAID ID HAVE THE TRUCK BACK AT 4:30pmâ€¦..I told her I never gave a return time frame just said same day. She was rude and told me there's nothing they could do. This place is a joke. Don't ever rent a truck from here unless you want screwed over. Also she told me I could not drop the truck off at any other location that I had to bring it back there. Which was an extra 30 miles. I will be notifying the main headquarters and spreading the word that this particular uhaul store is a ripoff.david M.

Booked a pick up time of 7am using the 24/7 mobile check in option via the website. Got there at 7am to pick up and the truck it gave me was in the middle of the vehicle drop off line blocked in. The key was not ready. A worker told me to come back in a couple hours as he has not cleaned and prepped the truck. Also reviewing the final charges I was charged a gas surcharge and I refilled to the same level. Please reach out to me to discuss getting fuel charge reversed and there should be a discount for the truck not being ready for 2 hours after my confirmed pick up time. The website is very misleading. The unit we rented said 1-2 bedrooms with about 1200 sq ft. Went to pick up the lock and the inside signs said a studio. The unit barely would fit a studio apt. Asked to upgrade to a bigger unit and was told none were available but I could rent a second unit if I needed. She said I could do it online since it was closing and I wasn't 100 % sure. Moved in what I could and rented a second unit. I came with my bigger furniture to move in the unit, but couldn't access the ramp to the second floor because it was after 7pm. But I was told I would have 24 hr access to my second floor units. That was another lie. Called the GM like the sign said and she was the rudest person I've ever dealt with. Basically it was my problems. She never even apologized for the inconvenience. Told me to carry it up the stairs. I'm 4'11" and it was a French door refrigerator. I needed these units for a few months but I'll be taking my business elsewhere next month. I needed the 10x15 size and was told one was available at the facility. As I attempted to book it online, the unit was not available. An employee kindly assisted me through the online process and told me to book the 5x5 and when I arrive to the facility they would get me in the 10x15 and I would pay the difference at that time. I booked the 5x5 online which included a free lock for booking online. Once at the facility to finish and switch out the reservation for the 10x15 a different employee assisted. She made the switch. After reviewing the online receipt I noticed the employee charged me for a lock which I already got free for booking online. I asked to be refunded for the lock since I got it free online. She said to do so, she would have to refund the entire amount then charge my card again for the amount without the lock. This was an unacceptable process as I would have to wait a few days for the first authorization to drop from my account. I asked if she could just give us enough boxes for the over charge and she said she could not but would have a manager contact me. It has been two days and I still haven't been contacted. This was not an overall positive experience. Nor is it acceptable for a company to have a promotion and not figure out how to honor without inconveniencing the customer. When I ordered the unit online it said that it was climate controlled, a lock would be in the unit, and to go and put my code in. When I arrived my code did not work, there was not a lock in the unit, and it was definitely not climate controlled. I went downstairs to the desk to see what was going on with my code and where I could find the lock and the general manager(that's the shirt the person was wearing) was extremely snarky and rude about why my code did not work. When we first got the unit, the information about the 24 hr access was not explained very well. We could not get in when we tried. We were there early to finish unloading the truck but could not get in. We were not charged for being late because of unloading the vehicle. Information given seemed simple enough but key details were not conveyed. I was told to access the building through a certain door only to find out that door doesn't work how it's supposed to when trying to move in. My furniture and beds got ruined in the unit and I was told that there is no place to put my items that were molded so I had to put them n my vehicle with mold all over them and dispose them which isn't fair because it was the storage unit that ruined them and I had to take them off instead of putting them in the dumpster at the facility. Called for a promotion with a full move one way, when we go to check in they told us that corporate does not know what they are talking about because they are not here and do not work the front desk.. They can not give us the promotion even with availability open. Then ended up charging us more because they did not know how to transfer the account to a smaller unit. U-Haul of Evansville is an "Outstanding Storage Facility"! We have used that facility (3) different times in the last (5) years for my Mother's personal items. Somehow, my reservation was lost and when my friend, who was my contact, went to measure a piece in storage, there was a lock on the door. It wasn't my fault, as I didn't delete the account or close it. It was UHaul's fault. I will credit the desk person with being very helpful and forthright. She didn't charge me for last month. But, now I can't use my old contact, who is a trusted friend and who has a key to the place. I was told I had to use a new one. This is preposterous. There was no reason for me change that was given and this person I have as my contact I have known well for over 15 years. Please find a reason and explain to me why I can't use the person I trust the most in my life as my contact. Mind you, he is a site supervisor for a security company and has passed multiple background checks for his jobs, so to that end, I'm angry. Using uhaul is never a problem, same cannot be said about the staff. Equipment and van wise: the van was so much better than the truck and I will definitely be using it again. The storage was easy to get to and there was carts to help load it. I did not know I only made a reservation for the storage and the only problem I had was the lady (Jonnie) was really rude. Too much attitude and not enough caring. Other than that uhaul is the best at moving!Michelle M. | Premières impressions
