Customer service lacks big time. 1st off. The truck was listed a 100 miles difference than what it was to start. So, it looked like I drove 100 miles before I left the yard. I had to straighten this matter when I returned. The email that's sent before you drive away would not accept an uploaded picture of the actual mileage. It said to see the attendant. It was a Saturday morning and probably 12 people in line. Had I done that, I would have lost over an hour of my move day. No way. Secondly, when I returned, two people working the front desk. Let me stand there while they were screwing around with phones for 6 or so minutes before they squeaked out, can I help you. Begrudgingly I might add. Please get help that wants to work, not just a body that exists. Clean it up uhaul and you'll have a good center. Or the robot should replace Hanzel and Gretal.Brian M.

I had reserved a truck and 10 moving blankets months in advance. I arrived on time, 6th person in line. By the time I was ready to complete the reservation, there were no moving blankets remaining. And the truck I rented was not completely clean. Not much I can do when you have a monopoly.Jon L.
We had reserved a truck almost 3 weeks prior. Had a reservation number and a pick up time at 8am. We pulled up checked in online. Located the truck and as I was waiting to get verified someone else had hopped in the truck we reserved and drove off with it. When we went inside to customer service the man told us he saw our reserved but couldn't find the keys or the truck which at that point the lady KATIE told us that that truck got sent out this morning. We said how did it get sent out when it was reserved for me. She said it got picked up at 715 so you're lying about seeing the truck. Called me a liar in front of a room full of customers and then told the other man who cares just give them a different truck to which he did but he was also visibly upset by her actions towards us. The man was very helpful but Katie was rude, disrespectful and completely ignored our reservation which we were lucky they had another truck on lot for the size I wanted. We then called the store to share our displeasure to which katie again said I know they were lying and I don't care call corporate. Absolutely zero professionalism on her part and I refuse to do business with uhaul again.Tyler G.

Make the contactless pick up easier. We were told to skip the line, so we skipped the line, and the lady at the front was very rude. We had never done the pickup this way before and assumed we wouldn't have to go inside but when we did it told us to skip the line. We got to the front and we asked if she was who we were supposed to see. She very rudely said â€œI guess I'll stop what I'm doing and get you your keys!â€ Fix the pick up system or don't offer that type of system.Gary R.

The man and short woman were extremely rude Both times in the last 2 weeks we came to this location. The short woman was very confrontational the first time, so we figured she was having a bad day, until we got the same treatment the 2nd time. It seemed as if the gentleman fed off of her energy. departments don't have good communication with each other. All staff was great so it wasn't their fault that telephone hold times are too long, customers can't get correct phone numbers to contact the right people at the right times, online information for pick-up was not correct/updated to new facility address info, initial U-box was in horrible shape and ready to fall over and should not have been given to us at all - after we loaded the U-box staff realized that the box was unsafe and gave us a different one so we had to unload the faulty box and reload into a better box; the address we were sent to for unloading the box was not correct and no staff was at the facility and we spent about an hour and a half trying to find out where we needed to go to get the box; when I changed my pick up date (by phone) the telephone notes were logged into the system but the date was never changed. Every step of the whole process had some kind of issues. We were charged more than the amount owed and had to go through a manager to get the refund. Your system is too convoluted. There are too many separate departments. You need to streamline the process.karen T.

I was going to look at a vehicle. Wasn't sure if I was going to buy it. I looked online and only one location in Evansville Indiana showed that they had a tow dolly (Ramtec 120 e Louisiana st, Evansville). They closed at 5:00. Before going to look at vehicle, I called the uhaul main location on riverside dr. I asked if they could get the one at Ramtec location because riverside is open later. They said that they had a dolly (though the internet page showed none). Josiah said he'd need the year and make of the vehicle. I wasn't sure so I told him I'd call him if I was going to buy it, so he'd hold a dolly for me. I called from the person's house I was buying the vehicle from and again spoke to Josiah. I asked if he could reserve it since I have the info. He said no, there's a couple dolly's here I'm sure they'll be here when you get here. I told him I was 20 minutes from town and heading that way right away. I drive to the riverside location. Josiah was busy with another customer. A person waited on us. They said the last dolly was just reserved. I said no way, get Josiah over here he said he'd have one for me, no problem. They didn't go get him. The three â€œemployeesâ€ stood there with shrugged shoulders like â€œwell you're out of luck.â€ Didn't offer an apology just â€œdo you want to rent a car hauler?â€, It's such and such more. I said â€œyou guys screwed up, rent me a hauler for the same price I don't think I should have to pay more for your screw upâ€. They then started the process of putting in info for rental. I went out to get my hitch on and get ready to load while my wife paid. We asked where we could drop it off and they looked on the system and said that we could drop it in our hometown of Nashville Indiana. Nothing more was said. No one was very helpful at all. It was like we had to go find someone to show us where the hauler was. They hooked up the chains and checked the lights and walked off leaving us to load and secure the vehicle ourselves. When we were on the road back home (2,5 hrs), my wife got to looking at the paperwork to find the address of where to drop the trailer the next day, we found that the person who waited on us put in a Bloomington Indiana location 40 minutes from our home. AND they charged us for the car hauler after acting like they would adjust the fee due to their screwup! Needless to say I'm PISSED! If I was over those three employees at the desk, I'd can all three. They were not friendly, very unprofessional in handling reservations and didn't give a care at all to do their jobs correctly. I ended up finding out that the location in our home town had closed. Fine, why didn't they ask where we'd like to choose to return instead of just picking one they had no idea about? I had a Dr appt in Columbus Indiana and called a location there (Ogle's rentals). They were super friendly and got my return location changed to them. I guess that's the difference between a mom and pop neighborhood dealer and a corporate store.dana M.
Employees there are a joke. Not one professional person and they not know what they are doing. They advertise 29,99 in town then why did I pay 191.00, and he told me 180?????? The first night I went to get a trailer, 5/23, the young man at the counter couldn't operate the computer system to rent a trailer. Yesterday I reserved online and everything went very smoothly. I would use a location closer to my house if they did not close by the time people get home from work.Gregory B.
Poor customer service. I reserved 2 furniture dollies and was told when I went to pickup I was informed they didn't have anything and I could buy my own. Then when I got my key for the truck I was told if it's not out front then go look in the back behind the building. Not a pleasant experience at all! We arranged to pick up truck at 7am. We arrived around 7:40 and were told in the future if we were to be running late to call and let someone know because the truck reservation can only be held for 1 hour. Last I checked 1 hour = 60 minutes not 40-45. So I felt that was unnecessary. Then the lady takes a picture of my drivers license on her cell phone. What reputable place doesn't have a scanner of some sort for this process?? After finally getting checked in and given the keys we have to look all over the lot ( front and back) to find the truck. Finally on the road.. the truck drives ok but seems to have trouble shifting. After moving all day we return truck at our arranged time of 6pm (no more running late didn't want to hear that whole complaint process again!) I park the truck at the side of building under the awning as the sign says to do and wait. The sign said wait in truck for a uhaul person to help me get checked in. No one ever came to help check it in. So I take keys and go inside the building to try to check truck in that way. The guy at the desk says if I have parked in the return area I can just leave keys in the truck and they will get me checked in. Weird, but ok. I put keys in truck and wait a few minutes to see if anyone comes out. Finally after a few minutes someone comes out and starts to spray the inside of the truck. I assume at this point I am good to go. Fast forward 2 days later I have a missed call and voicemail talking about my plan for returning the truck!! At this point I am so done dealing with this place I am furious! I return the call and speak to yet another guy who says â€œ oh never mind we found the keys.â€ 臘â€â™€ï¸ Excuse me?? Your employee lost the keys after cleaning the truck and driving it somewhere to park ( also not actually checking it in apparently) and I am the one getting called about returning the truck 2 days later? At this point I just want to know what my charges are going to be and be done with this place! Currently still waiting for charges to post on my account. Never again will my family rent anything from UHaul. Lesson learned!Christina S.

I have real concerns about some requirements and service at this location. The young man was great but I was very disappointed in others. Also reservation issues from a change uhaul made to change our location was a mess. Called and asked questions that were not answered accurately. Told my blankets were not available. He went and looked and they were there. 55 minutes to pic k up a reserved trailer. Scanned drivers licenses and used personal phones due to office ones not working. I asked if pictures saved to personal phones. They did. I'm concerned by that as a customer. I have no reason not to trust the young man but his boss should be taking care of this situationMichael H.

This new deal of having to supply someone else's phone number and they ave to answer the phone to vouch for you, is a lousy way to fix whatever problem you have. Also your computer system is a mess and frequently operates at a crawl, slowing down customers.russell S.

I had made a reservation for earlier afternoon, and was turned away because my truck had been rented. They sent me to another location that ended up closing about 4 minutes after I got there. The system supposedly went down as soon as my husband and I arrived and then they had to close. They closed and about 5mins after that the system was back up again. We waited about 4 hours and tried the first location again. We were successful but it was unfortunate because it had begin to thunderstorm and we had to then move in the rain. It was nice earlier in the day 80 and sunny when we had PLANNED to move. We were prepared and everything but ended up stuck moving in a thunderstorm. I've rented from U-Haul many years it's been a family thing before much of my family passed away. Things have changed there significantly and it's beginning to show more poor service over the years. I think they should be better prepared and organized when it comes to the reservations. Also to better sweep out and clean the trucks before renting them out.Makaela G.

The girl who took our money at the counter (Kathleen or Kathryn was her name) was very rude. At one point, when I commented that were being asked more questions than 2 weeks prior, when we had rented the same trailer, she replied that it was company policy and if we didn't like it, we certainly did not have to rent it. Never once did she smile. Part of the time she was listening to the clerk at the computer next to her and correcting him while he was trying to help a customer. Never rent from this location! Customer Service... absolutely none! After being a customer at that location for 7 years when we arrived this time to pick up our reserved trailer we were told they would not rent to us. After our recent move to a different state they would not accept our drivers license. Prior to this rental we had rent from them probably a dozen times this year alone. The girl helping us said that they did not trust we would return the open trailer at our designated drop off. They required us to get someone other than myself or husband to rent the trailer and then proceed to call people to verify our identity. We have never been treated like this anywhere we have been. We were treated like thieves and criminals when we have been a customer with no prior issues and always paying upfront and returning equipment on time. We will never recommend this location to anyone and never use uhaual again!!ANGELA K.

When we first got the unit, the information about the 24 hr access was not explained very well. We could not get in when we tried. We were there early to finish unloading the truck but could not get in. We were not charged for being late because of unloading the vehicle. Information given seemed simple enough but key details were not conveyed. I was told to access the building through a certain door only to find out that door doesn't work how it's supposed to when trying to move in. My furniture and beds got ruined in the unit and I was told that there is no place to put my items that were molded so I had to put them n my vehicle with mold all over them and dispose them which isn't fair because it was the storage unit that ruined them and I had to take them off instead of putting them in the dumpster at the facility. Called for a promotion with a full move one way, when we go to check in they told us that corporate does not know what they are talking about because they are not here and do not work the front desk.. They can not give us the promotion even with availability open. Then ended up charging us more because they did not know how to transfer the account to a smaller unit. U-Haul of Evansville is an "Outstanding Storage Facility"! We have used that facility (3) different times in the last (5) years for my Mother's personal items. Somehow, my reservation was lost and when my friend, who was my contact, went to measure a piece in storage, there was a lock on the door. It wasn't my fault, as I didn't delete the account or close it. It was UHaul's fault. I will credit the desk person with being very helpful and forthright. She didn't charge me for last month. But, now I can't use my old contact, who is a trusted friend and who has a key to the place. I was told I had to use a new one. This is preposterous. There was no reason for me change that was given and this person I have as my contact I have known well for over 15 years. Please find a reason and explain to me why I can't use the person I trust the most in my life as my contact. Mind you, he is a site supervisor for a security company and has passed multiple background checks for his jobs, so to that end, I'm angry. Using uhaul is never a problem, same cannot be said about the staff. Equipment and van wise: the van was so much better than the truck and I will definitely be using it again. The storage was easy to get to and there was carts to help load it. I did not know I only made a reservation for the storage and the only problem I had was the lady (Jonnie) was really rude. I was happy with my prior experiences and even tho it was 15 or 20 yrs ago I thought I'd see if you could do it again. In fact it was this same Uhaul store I used as well. Place still looks clean and well maintained and I don't have much but feel comfy using yall again cause some these storage places are run down or often robbed lack of security. There was mouse poop and roaches in my things after moving it out. I complained once earlier this year and it was ignored. When I was moving out the staff left the office and stopped answering the phones. They left the lock on my unit after I was paid up for over a week. No one noted that I left the facility even though I did inform them and the company attempted to charge me again. You charge a lot of money for my things to be messed up. The manager told me I should have paid extra for coverage for something that they clearly knew was going to happen. If I had been told it was a guarantee I would have, I guess. Although the girl in the office was very efficient there was the need for another customer service employee. Was approx a 30 minute wait. The online checkin didn't work well. Also a female employee was to bring the truck around to us. After waiting an addl 25 minutes I walked back to find her sitting in a truck listening to the radio playing on her cell phone. I was not the only customer waiting. I preferred renting a truck in Jasper IN but was inconvenient to put the extra miles on it since the move was contained in Evansville IN. Pay for more help!!!! I rented the storage unit and my parents rented the trailer to help me move. My experience was fine but my parents had one incident. After hooking up the trailer my parents, and not the employees, noticed one of the rear brake lights were out.
