When I returned a truck and ask for a total receipt. Guys get upset not all of them I understand you e-mail all that stuff but a customer wants an immediately receipt and yes employees get upset, why???? Aren't you getting paid by being in the facility???? Trust me it's not all of them and I understand when it's after hours but it wasn't and take their sweet time till they fell like it just to show you who's in charged? Is this acceptable with your corporation???? Cause we have a choice to go with another rental company even if it's out of our way or charge a little extra more. I return because of customer service trust me guys in the morning their more helpful than later hours.

I had a poor experience on two separate occasions here one picking up the 26ft truck that tools me over an hour to get dispatched. My reservation was messed up the extra days I needed the truck weren't factored in even though I called multiple times prior to pick up to confirm everything was ok. I only found this out at the drop off location when they told me I owed an additional $160 … the experience was terrible and the only compensation was $100 credited back to me. The second experience was the trailer I picked up the following day. I called in first thing in the AM and was I. Hold for over 30 minutes. Finally when I got to someone I was very clear I was in a big hurry.. dispatch went smooth this time but when I went to hook up to the trailer the lights weren't working … then they gave me a separate trailer where the back was wide open during the rain and the inside was soaked … another 45 min later I was finally on the road with a wet trailer for all my belongings. Poor experience two times in a row … $1400 in equipment rentals and I was not offered $100 credit. This was a painful exhausting experience all around

I had a 7am pickup. There was a line. I had to wait over 30 minutes to get a truck. I did an online reservation and did the Q-Code for fast check-out. When I got to the counter, she asked me for the same information that I already submitted. The truck had a dolly in the back that I didn't check until I got to the move location. The green Uhaul zip tie was broken but I didn't need the dolly. I added gas to the truck before return and took a photo. When I got my final bill I was charged incorrectly for gas. Now, I have to go back and argue over gas prices. I returned the truck to the line and the guy asked me to back it up and go to the next line over. It is already difficult to drive the big truck in reverse. He is the one that incorrectly read the gas tank and overcharged me for gas. I did not like the entire process. This was my 3rd day in a row checking out a truck and this was by far the worst day. Earlier a guy named Richard came in from the street and tried to solicit help for a move. He walked to each customer to ask if they needed assistance. He asked me more than once and also followed customers to the truck to ask them again. He should not be allowed in the store to solicit a service.

This is run by crooks from top to bottom corporate to Manager to employees. Corporate office hides behind manager and manager hides behind employees. Promises are not kept. I scheduled a hitch installation online. Given the date when I arrived it wasn't there yet. Also, it gives you the option to wait while installation is done but when you arrive it's called a glitch, sorry you must leave your car for 8 to 10 hours on tech mercy whenever he has time. The manager offers a discount for inconvenience but it's just words. Then later claimed that he already offered when you try to call corporate. And when a hitch arrives no one calls you, you must stay on top of it even if you already missed the weekend you plan to use it. Then when your tech tried to install the hitch, he conveniently didn't receive the fish screws that were needed for installation. Again, the part or hitch needs to be ordered. If you talk to the manager, he is clueless and blame employees. Employees get mad at you because you talked to the manager. When you call the corporate office, they advise you that we must wait a few days for the manager to reply. No Calls or email from manager. You call the corporate office again who try to call the manager and then he lies and of course corporate can't do anything because its manager discretion, they are working to rip people off. Manager never calls he makes employee calls you and ask you why you are complaining?? If you show a little frustration to cooperate, they offer you a $25 coupon to be used in the near future. More to face them again. It's an all-unorganized scam where they blame each other. All I was asking is what manager initially offered the discount which waived the installation charge due to multiple visits, delayed tactics, and overall inconvenience. But nah! They are brick solid in ripping you off and making things harder. Imagine a corporate office next to them and that's how they run the show. This is just the beginning of it I will post my review everywhere I can.

The gas was on empty when I picked it up and was only given a $13 credit. I put $70 in the gas tank. When I brought it up to the employees they said I needed to update the information Online, why did they not tell me that before I left. When I did try to use the link, it had a notice on the screen that I needed to fill it out when I returned it. When I returned the truck the link would not connect properly.

The representative that helped me was named Camron. Apparently, he just started the position, but there was no manager on-site to provide him any support. He was highly unprofessional and seemed to be going through the motions. You guys need to train and support your staff, and hire people that are going to be professional and actually help your customers.

One of the personnel was not helpful in resolving an important issue regarding the Storage unit that I rented and was being used. He just said that the service was first come first serve and it is unacceptable since I received all the information regarding the unit in advance and was required to call the location to confirm the rent before showing up, and I did it. So, it was disappointing and outrageous.

Service is always great! Was able to get equipment needed. The team will is professional and helpful. They greet me by name and it feels like family. One issue though is that I had some fraudulent charges occur on my Mastercard after this visit. This may not be related to Uhaul in anyway, but wanted to note when it occurred. The card has been blocked and a new replacement will be sent out.

Spring on roll up door was broken. Struggled to open door, then door would slam shut. No anchors on left wall to anchor or stuff down or across to order wall. Inside the trailer smelled like cigarette smoke. Left blinker light went out on trailer few days into reservation. Overall appearance of trailer was in disrepair and was below average for any of the previous rentals I've had from U-Haul. Considering different location for future rentals

The general manager Mr. Broussard was ver accommodating with a ground level unit that became available as I had expressed my need of a ground floor unit due to a current disability. He canceled the second floor unit which I had to climb stairs to get to (elevator needed at this facility). I really appreciate the extra mile the staff to to assist me in my storage needs. This was my first storage experience and I would definitely recommend this location to everyone in need of a unit.

Customer service at both the Vermont LA location and Gardena Location. The management at Gardena was bad! The cashier charged my card before telling me the total of my cost!! The staff whispered to the manager "Does she know the mileage came to $200?" The manager said to him, "she should." Not once speaking to me to confirm they charged me $890! I'm so disgusted by the staff and manager at Gardena, I would never recommend anyone or return for service! I hope this email goes to the upper management; because you have very bad customer service, neglected to inform me of the total charges, and basically charged my card before I could confirm the card to use. I will be calling the corporate offices.

I had reserved a large storage unit a few hours earlier. When I got there there was only a small storage unit available and it was on the second floor. I had some furniture to store so I declined the unit as there is no elevator there!

Very poor customer service was trying to get a storage unit and both units was occupied and when staff was trying to contact the manager his phone e was going to voice-mail and never returned phone calls the two young men's that was there was so helpful the young lady that was there was not helpful at all I was there for three hours and still didn't get storage that is why my move in and out date is the same because both units was occupied with locks on them when they was showing available and was not so they don't know their inventory and it is a inconvenience to customers I would never recommend or use this location because of poor customer service

I was told the facility had an elevator and it didn't. And the assigned space was in the attic. So we had to go rent a space at Public Storage, whose rates were a LOT less for a better space and they do have elevators, as well as flat bed carts and Dollie's. I will NEVER rent a storage space from U-Haul again after this fiasco! By the way, the staff at the Gardena facility was snotty with me on the phone and when my son got there he realized this was the same facility that he had trouble with before and sent a complaint to corporate about years ago. Obviously nothing was done to correct the problem.

Though the site was clean, my unit looks like a work in progress. But I'm grateful for it & I haven't seen any creepy crawlers, so its all good. I've only had one lackluster experience, all the rest have been great (in person & over the phone).

This facility has been a nightmare, all of my expensive furniture has been water damaged, they have a women in the front who has the funkiest energy, I hate talking to her. I just hate this place.

I have no grievance with the storage facility... As I said in my previous surveys... It's the difficulty experienced with the contract process, the Truck rental facility & the dishonest way I was overcharged in the entire un-customer service experience.

The complaint is not with the facility that provided the Storage Unit... My complaint is with the U-HAUL scheduling & reservation system... It all was an "inconvenient mess"..! I had to call several times... The pick up facility for the truck rental was un-able to be contacted due to a disconnected phone number... I called the day before my pick up to affirm my reservation and re-assess my contractual agreement... I spoke to several agents in the "Transportation Center" several times the morning of the pick up and got another disconnected number... My CC was charged $30 more than what I was quoted over the phone by the reservation agent despite a very intentionally adamant conversation with the agent regarding that specific issue (i.e. Amount due at pick up). The person who did the contract at the facility for the pick up (a young lady) never asked for my signature and just did everything for my pick up of the truck on her phone... And, upon arrival to the storage facility the unit that I was quoted was not available when I got to the storage facility so I had to accept a different unit (a more expensive one). Throughout this entire experience I was making several phone calls to the "Transportation Center" and then the "Customer Service Center" and practically every time these calls were put on long "wait-time holds" and when finally connected to a live person the calls were disconnected..! This entire experience should be easily documented & confirmed as it is noted in all of these calls that you (i.e. U-HAUL) record these phone calls... I am truly displeased with this experience and I tried calling your "Customer Service" several times the following day to submit this grievance but just as during this experience, I was unable to speak with any of your agents... I am in a profession that is compelled to be diligent in customer service in order to perpetuate the further continuance of repeat & referral business so this was an appalling experience for me as this kind of "ball dropping" would be totally unacceptable..! I would appreciate it if someone would reach out to me in an effort to rectify this matter.

I call in to schedule a storage unit and had it reserved the person had it scheduled and took my credit card. She scheduled it for the first floor and a larger unit. When I got the the facility it was all different the lady at the storage said she did not see the reservation in the system and the lady was very rude. The storage facility does not have a elevator so I have to carry all my items up the stairs. What is up with this? I am happy I got the one month free but it really was a ordeal that I did not want to deal with. I would think twice about going to this storage facility again it was to much work .

The facility was well lit and I felt secure there, but the lock on our door was loose. The staff was less than helpful and we were happy to have another option for our storage needs, so that we didn't have to use that UHaul storage facility.

I reserved a storage locker, but they had already rented it to someone else. When I asked for an alternate either at this location or another in the area I was told there was nothing. This left me up sh*t creek with out a paddle because I had a full UHaul truck to unload and nowhere to unload it and the staff was incredibly unhelpful at trying to correct the problem of their making.

I had a reservation for a climate control storage unit of a specific size and bottom floor. When I arrived they did not have that unit and gave me one much smaller, not climate controlled and second floor. The second floor access is a staircase!!! What type of storage facility has stairs to haul all storage items up and down from…most ridiculous thing ever!! The lady charged me the same price of the unit I had originally reserved…terrible!!

The size of the unit turned out to be too small, a bigger unit was available however, the owner, Donnis, wasn't willing to swap out units. He wanted me to rent the other unit out as well. I don't need 2 units. He then proceeded to walk away and just left his staff member standing there not knowing what to do, so then he walks away. He was more concerned with counting his boxes and seeing how many pallets they had to restock. Just left us standing at the counter. The sad part about this is that my husband is disabled and was there with me. He uses a wheelchair and a cane to get around. He is unable to help me in moving. And financially we can't afford movers. So I was doing this alone. There was NO compassion from this person at ALL. I will NEVER rent a storage there again. I only had the unit for a day or two and left. Didn't even use it really. It also had a hole in the door. So people could see what your storing. I had to keep the Uhaul truck rental again and found a storage at different storage company. I will say his staff had more compassion and kindness then he did. They were awesome. But they could only do so much but say I'm sorry.

Needs lights in storage rooms

First, I wish the individual storage spaces be lighted. Storage spaces do not have lights inside and it is Very difficult to find things or move around inside the storage spaces. There should be an automatic lighting installed inside of each storage space that turns on and off by itself. Every time I, I visit my storage, I hated to be inside the dark space. The ceiling is also low, so I have to stoop around the whole time I'm in there. I am a woman of average height, by the way. Second, I wish the U-Haul employees are better trained. Many of them I have dealt with so far have Very incompetent work skills. On Sunday, 03/14/2021, a female agent who was helping me on the phone was very incompetent. And on Monday, 04/15/2021 a male agent at the Gardena, CA location office was also not trained properly. The female agent did not know how to properly cancel my contract with U-Haul. I had to call twice to make sure my cancellation was processed correctly. On the second phone call, an agent named Joseph verified that my cancellation did not take place with the previous female agent. Joseph helped me to complete the cancellation in the system. The first female agent was NOT professional: Not only she did not do the job correctly, her manner on the phone was very rude, telling me to take the speaker-phone mode off so that she can hear me. I was driving , so I had to use the speaker phone. Anyway, I pulled over and spoke with her without using the speaker phone. Also, she called me "Honey". Somehow her calling me honey did not feel appropriate to me. I wish she called me by my name, and not "Honey". She was also fumbling on the phone a lot while talking to me on the phone. At the end of a rather hasty "help" provided by her, i tried to ask her name. Well, She hung up right away! That's when I got suspicious wherher my request was performed correctly. I got this hunch that she might not have done the cancellation job correct. I immediately called back. Sure enough, the second agent named Joseph confirmed that my storage contract termination did not take effect at all. Nothing was done for it, he said. Joseph was very professional though. He apologized for the first female agent's mistake. What a waste of my time. Also when I try to return the key at the Gardena location, the agent made a mistake in the return-key process. I had to ask his coworker sitting next to him at the counter to double-check. Surely, the key was not returned in the system. If a coworker had to help out in order to make sure a simple key-return was done correctly in the system, then I am not sure whether U-Haul employees are trained properly. My experience with U-Haul with the phone agents and the local office agents have been very unsatisfactory. I would NOT hesitate to recommend some other storage businesses to others. I am sorry but, hope my feedback is helpful for other consumers/customers down the road with U-Haul. Thank you for your time! Sandra Kim

It took an hour to get checked in to my storage even though I had an online reservation. The computer was too slow and then the access code did not work. Please improve the efficiency of the check in process. Thank you The manager was really nice and accommodating.

I didn't like that the rates kept going up and up. Also, there is no elevator at the facility. My poor father had to help me carry the heaviest boxes upstairs. Never again!
