I arrived after 7PM, at 8:30PM. The drop-off lot was full, so I had to park on the sidewalk. I used the dropoff app, took pictures, and used the slot for the key. They charged me for an extra day anyway, even though I had the van until 10:00 AM the next day. I got the charge reversed, but their not checking the app to see when I dropped off my rental indicates how disorganized they are.

I rented a unit at this same facility in May 2021, but this time was a much worse experience. The old system used codes that could be issued online by uhaul so waiting for location staff wasn't as long. I waited over 45 minutes twice- once when picking up my truck (the staff member disappeared after giving me a short form to fill out) and once when I returned with my belongings to put into the unit. The process required me to fill out additional paperwork so the local staff could enter my information even though I had reserved the unit online. The staff was focused on truck rentals and only one was handling storage units even though there was a long line. Staff clearly didn't want to deal with storage check in process. When I was finally helped they put me in an upper unit even though my reservation was for a lower, and also charged me for a lock after telling them I had one I'd already purchased there. It took 2 more tries to get the lock refunded after more troubles with their system. There is clearly something wrong between the online system and the one they use at the facility, which creates staff and customer frustration. If not for convenient location, I would never consider using uhaul again.

I was charged for one month storage when it was supposed to be included for free. Storage space was unbearably hot. Rodent boxes were everywhere, including my small unit.

If something is not available, say on the website that it isn't. We opted for a dolly in addition to the truck. Upon arrival, I was told there were no dollys available. How do you move furniture without a dolly?? And offer it as an option on the website? I would've sourced one myself had I known Uhaul didn't have one. The front desk worker wanted me to drive on my own time to another location to get one (while I pay for the gas, the truck rental time too). A major inconvenience. Upon returning the truck, the front desk guy yelled at me for parking it too. Just not friendly at all. And very unprofessional. I won't ever use this location again.

the location was crowded and only one person available to help. the mirror in the truck was not stable and moved all the time. it was dangerous as we the driver could not see his back so we stopped and used paper and tape to make it stay stili.

I've been a customer here for several years. Once in awhile there's a hiccup but for the most part I'm very pleased with this place. Recently I had to rent a truck and my brother wanted me to shop around and I said nope, I'm sticking with U-Haul I've been using them for a while and everything's reliable and efficient. I very easily reserved my rental online with my phone. Picked it up in person with a little bit of a delay just due to the place being busy and let me tell you the guy that was helping me was helping five other people at the same time doing a great job.

The day before the pickup, a service rep called me and said the pick up location had changed to 747 Allegheny Ave, Philadelphia and that she would text me the change but she never did. We went to Allegheny but were told that we had go to the original location because they didn't have us in their system. When we went to 1918 N 5th St., they said that they are no longer U-Haul. We called customer service and were finally instructed to go to N. 13th St. We wasted 1 hr looking for our cargo van we reserved more than a month ago! Why is Dream Furniture at N. 5th St., Philadelphia still on the website? You better update your website! (N. 13th was good, so we rated above average.)

No mention of tolls for my rental van. I found this odd since I imagine most one-way rentals on the east coast use toll roads. I decided to take a no-toll route to Philadelphia and I went over the mileage allotment by 12 miles. 路‍♂️

The manager thinks he's God. With simple split-second judgement declared me as living in the storage unit. I am disabled. I had to carry and walk stuff to the unit. I sat on my suitcase, cracked open my typical in-between meals, peanut butter. Right out of the jar. It's what I do. However, to Javier it's a declaration of forbidden behavior and he's the only one allowed that A moments judgement of someone and hebtrys telling me how to conduct myself. I'm a Veteran and hardly need his instructions on that. I dropped the paper he gave me and didn't realize it but Javier the almighty judged once again and was wrong once again tha I've conducted this for spite I guess. That's unnecessary energy spent for no purpose. I had to move an entire locker because Javier said he wasn't letting me back in unless I did so. That is who operates your store. No 72 hours, now or never. Against policy, violation, what's his discipline for obvious breach. Nothing right? He's allowed because he got that locker rented under 72 hrs. Bonus right?

Truck was very beat up and pictures did not do it justice. It also felt insulting that there was a hand-truck and large bag of floor mats fascined in back of the truck that cost extra to use. They took up space I needed and had to load/pack around them.

I was charged a fuel and fuel service fee totaling $42,5 for driving the U-Haul only 5 miles and returning at the 1/4 fuel tank level. It is an unfair and deceiving practice. I don't think I can trust U-Haul with another reservation and would avoid it altogether because of this experience.

I paid for moving pads, never received them. The truck came empty in gas, they didn't care for my gas receipt. Staff tried to refund half my money instead of the full moving pad fee. Truck door was not latched / broken. Left rear tire was low on air, It didn't have a valve stem cap…….

I have rented from u-haul many times. I never had to return it to the location I started at. I went to return and they tried to charge me $200 EXTRA dollars to return in Langhorne, which I put on my reservation. I had to return to Philadelphia and get a ride from there. Very frustrating.

my guaranteed reservation was not honored, i was charged for gas when i filled it up pass what was in the tank, and theres always unsuspecting fees that turn your 19 advertisement to a 40 rental.

I've used uhaul for years with multiple moves and have always found service to be good/adequate. Yesterday, I needed both a van and access to my new storage locker rental and the gentleman with long hair who was working at the front desk and who was training another employee (wish I got his name to be able to give him recognition) was absolutely amazing: he was efficient, extremely helpful, friendly, and was able to assist me with all aspects of the storage locker and van rental process to make it a very smooth and pleasant process for me. Need more people like him working in customer service.

Overall very prompt and clean service and rental was great. Unfortunately, one of the employees, Gary, was incredibly rude and refused to help me when the mobile check-in process wasn't working, yelling at me and blaming the technological failure on me. I ended up having to seek help from another employee. Other than that, rental was great.

Customer service was extremely poor. I was met by a woman with a horrible attitude, it was obvious she didn't want to work there or be bothered with assisting customers. I drove the van a total of 4 miles as I was moving within center city and some how ended up having to pay over $30 in gas to fill the tank to the level required by my receipt. I forgot to check and take a picture of the tank level as it was a hectic day and I wanted to get things moving. This was my fault but it's really disappointing that the requisite level was wrong to begin with. I told the woman upon my return and she basically told me she “couldn't help, bye.”

Changing pick up time without notice and less than 24 hours of original pick up. Attitude when I called and asked if there was another location I could pick up from. I was also told to deal with the change because there wasn't another uhaul within 100 miles. When I called customer service it look them less than 5 minutes to find a replacement truck.

The man on duty was rude beyond belief. I had a bad experience with him on Easter morning and when I saw him yesterday I avoided any conversation, dealing only with the woman on duty. When I picked up the van on the street the man came out and berated me for what he remembered from Easter, etc. Told me he was not a slave and that I treated him that way because he was black, etc. etc. Awful. Get rid of this guy. Because of him I moved everything out of the storage I had rented and today cancelled the storage arrangement. Horrible person.

Super clean location, and the truck was in great condition. The representative who helped me was knowledgeable, efficient, courteous. I have rented from other U-Haul locations in the past, but I think in the future I will rent from this location. It was very efficient.

There was too muchFees in fine print on a U-Haul Van Rental. $19,95 van rental cost me about $80 with all the fees and plus putting fuel back in the van. No customer parking.

I was told i was not allowed on the premises in 2018. They locked my storage unit. They changed my door code. I had NO access to my stuff since then. Even AFTER a $900 payment, imI STILL remained LOCKED OUT. I was never given access, i was never notified, i never heard ANYTHING from them. As far as i was concerned, my stuff had already been sold when they had the police called because they thought i was running a business out of the unit, then thought i had hazardous material, then they assumed i was living there. I was locked out of my own stuff. I still paid. And i was still denied access. Disgraceful and will never use U haul EVER AGAIN

Everyone was very friendly and helpful! When someone parked illegally in the loading zone, blocking anyone else from getting in, the manager took prompt action to solve the problem in a courteous manner. The facility is safe, clean, and well managed!

The loading dock is a bit small. I had a moving company move my storage items to a new apartment, and there wasn't enough room for them load the items quickly.

1)Reserved storage unit wasn't available. I got a smaller one temporarily with a promise that larger one will become available and someone would notify me. That never happened. 2) On the first visit after office hours entry was not granted to the building. Other people were going in without problems but I couldn't. I had a full car of things to unload. Despite numerous calls nobody assisted and I had to use another storage unit in NJ. Office worker had to do something day later to fix the system to make sure my access is working. 3) On the first month automatic payment didn't go through and I was charged late fee. All information provided for the payment was accurate (I took screenshots). I asked for more details so that I can clear it up with the bank but I never got any answer from U-Haul. Also, there was no notification that my payment was rejected. System notification was sent days later when late fee was applied. 4) office staff (not the manager) was actually helpful, but system failed on all other places

I filed a claim for damages to my furniture and still haven't got the issue resolved due to a leak, and now it's being said there was no leak which is a lie I have photos of the damages and the assistant manager saw the damages, I would not recommend this facility to anyone, the insurance they use is a joke, the assistant manager Angel offered some throw blankets for the furniture which didn't help much at no fault of hers and I did appreciate it, As for the manager he never called or reached out in any way after he was emailed. If you value your items don't store them here, i will be posting photos of damaged items on social media

I did not have a bad experience but the storage units were extremely humid and dirty. The first one they tried to give us smelled like dead animal. They didn't even check the unit before assigning it. We only rented for a few weeks and immediately searched for a new storage place

Everything went very smoothly until I actually needed to use my unit. Access hours are clearly marked as 5am to 10pm. I showed up at 8pm and GUESS WHAT??? It's apparently not access hours! I don't care if your access hours are only 4 hours a day… LABEL YOUR HOURS CORRECTLY! I can't think of anything more aggravating. I've used this storage locker multiple times in the past and always had incredibly positive experiences until yesterday. Off the bat, the woman assisting me was irritated and distracted while chatting on facetime. She then said she couldn't assist me because they were closing, despite it being 40 minutes before closing. I had to insist to at the very least get my key card and unit #. Additionally, the online hours for this facility say office hours go until 8pm and storage access until 10pm. But I was told I'm not allowed to go anytime after office hours, which apparently are until 7pm. Some clarity online or amongst staff would be much appreciated if I'm going to continue using this facility.

uhaul is a scam i got a one way truck specifically so i could get first months rent free on a storage locker but when i arrived they told me it only it valid if you drop you truck at the same place where the locker is why was the not mad apparent on the website?? i had to pick up a truck all the way in NJ when i’m from PA just to end up having to spend $60 more dollars then expected

I made an online reservation and activated my account at the storage site on May 8th,2021. The staff I opened my account with were friendly and respectful. She communicated to me the difference between UHaul's office hours and access hours. I understood the storage unit access hours were until 10PM. On June 26,2021 I arrived at the loading dock around 6:50PM, and was told to leave the building by the staff working that day. They stated only businesses had access to the storage unit 24/7. They were rude and unprofessional. We waited outside for two hours trying to figure out why we didn't have access until 10PM. It was extremely stressful as we came from CT to access the storage unit. We called UHaul's and they informed us we should be able to access the storage unit prior to 10PM. On July 10,2021 I closed the account unit I had open. The same staff who I interacted with in June closed my account. While I was leaving the elevator I witness a UHaul's woman employee being a Hennessy alcoholic bottle from her car (that was parked inside were the Uhaul vehicles are) to the front desk where she was working.

My reservation was not ready when I got there after reserving it 4 days prior. The staff didn't give me any explanation and then told me they could retrack my "reservation", after I was already frustrated for standing there with no answers for over 20 mins. I was told I could use my own lock then they told me I couldn't agree I got there wasting $30 on a lock. They also tried to charge me an extra $30 a month more than originally quoted.

The Associate Sunday (male) was very helpful, knowledgeable and helped me with closing my unit. The overall condition of the unit was dirty and disgusting. My items while in your unit was there for 3 years, I had stuff covered in mouse / rodent droppings and everything will now have to be disinfected.

Made a reservation for a storage unit but was told, when I arrived, that the size was not available. I was offered a smaller sIze of unit. Apparently this is common. This is not the correct use of the word "reservation" and meant I could have ended up in a situation where I had nowhere to put my things. Had an issue where I called to see when I could access my unit (was told until 10pm) but turns out it was only until 8pm. I couldn't get in. If I had had a flight or something the next day it could have been bad, but luckily I could come back the next day. Manager was kind to offer me credit for the inconvenience (although I have not seen it yet).

When it was time to vacate i had forgotten my key. The general manager said he couldn't cut the lock that I had to find a licensed locksmith and that person had to show proof of insurance. That's all well and good for Uhaul to protect from liability, but its a bloody nuisance for the customer. I drove almost 70 miles from NJ and had to wait for an 1 1/2 before I could locate one with the requisite documentation. Why is this my problem . Partner up with your local licensed locksmith or hire them per-deim . I'm sure many customers forget their key or lose it so it was anticipated but not adequately handled. I left U haul really frustrated.

After an apartment fire in central Philadelphia, we had an emergency need for a large locker, and a truck to move furniture and belongings into storage. This UHaul location made the job (relatively) easy, and when we were ready to move everything out, to a new place the staff were friendly and efficient. Understand this is a center-city facility; a repurposed early 20th century factory building. It's not a purpose-built modern building. But the storage area is properly climate controlled, and well-lit in the storage area. The freight elevators are slow, but large and easily accessible. There are adequate carts for moving goods between trucks and lockers. Doors and elevators require either access codes or magnetic cards (user's choice), so security is pretty strong. This UHaul location has my strong endorsement.

A mistake from the truck pick-up location in St. Louis, I was dispatched to the wrong location in Philly: with the storage unit at one place and truck drop off at another. After a stressful move, 3 days of driving, during a global pandemic, losing time driving to the wrong location in a city I didn't know, and then showing up without the storage reservation with only 2 hours to unload by myself, I nearly broke down in the lobby once I realized the dispatch mistake. Tears were welling. Precious was behind the counter watching all this happen. She immediately stepped in, asked if I needed water, got me a unit and assured me everything would be okay. Without a doubt, Precious was the person I needed in that moment in time. Beyond stellar customer service, she showed me how Philly gets it done. Precious is a leading person in the story I tell people about this move. And everyone is grateful she was there to help me out, as am I. [Precious, if you're reading this, ]

The billing was easy and was notified of each payment. We found out when we went to remove our belongings, the storage unit I paid for was not the storage unit the items were in. A lock was added to our unit stating we owed for several months. The lady who assisted us told us she needed to find her phone and then she would remove the lock added to the wrong unit. It was very frustrating we were not treated as a valued customer. We had to get another employee to help us since the previous person was too busy finding her phone. She also deactivated our key so we couldn't get in the elevator until another employee noticed we needed help and assisted us. We also heard her yelling with the customer before us. It was very uncomfortable and I felt bad for the customer.

Sometimes, after the office hours, alarms would go off on the upper floors. It would be unbearable and there'd be no way to shut them off. Other than that it was a good storage facility.

The only Reason that I do not give an excellent Rating is that I had to go back to the facility the next day to close my contract. By that time they already charged me an extra month. The people in store solved it with no hesitance, but I had to go back to the store. I was lucky I decided to stay in Philadelphia for an extra day. If not, I could have not done the reclamation.
