This was my third trip to U-Haul that day. I ordered and paid for the truck the morning before. Two reservations did not go through. I only found out after going to the locations. Waiting in line. Process paper work. Then told truck was not available. I started my day at 9am to get a truck. Finally got one at 2pm.

Train and motivate your staff = Tristan was obviously hating his job and couldnt be any more put out. Maintain equipment better = The defective wiring of the trailer tripped fuses in my car... Roadside assistance came, couldnt fix the problem and I was told "my car is the problem", when everything was working fine before I left the lot.

They offered me a 5x7,5 but I had specifically reserved a 5x10 because of the size of some large items I needed to store together. I was told the only other thing I could do was rent a 2nd 5x7,5 at my own expense!!!! They refused any kind of discount or my request to speak to someone higher than the manager I was speaking with. I was told “There's no way for me to do anything else. Cooperate policy.†I don't believe that. Any reputable company always has a way to give credit or something when it was Uhauls fault for not having the size unit I had RESERVED in advance. Now I'm paying double rent for a 2nd storage unit I shouldn't have to. I'm putting in a formal complaint to cooperate and if nothing is done I am never using or recommending Uhaul ever again. Completely unprofessional.

Derrick A.I originally rented our 26' truck on a Thursday, for Sunday at 8AM, and pre-paid. No one called me a day before to confirm as stated; the night before I saw there would not be a truck available at the ORIGINAL location; "one would be available at another at 1:30PM". But that was way too late for us. Upon arrival at the second pickup location, I waited in line for 35 min - there were three 26' trucks available in other cities further away. The next best thing was a 20' truck 10 miles away at 10:30 (it was now 10). We arrived at the third pickup location at 10:25... line to the door, again. After waiting 45 min in line, I waited another 30 min for the truck. Then they told us it was there waiting at the exit driveway, but no one told us. I went to check it out - no dollies. I waited another 20 min for someone to help with that. We drove away at NOON with a smaller truck. We ended up having to take two trips (because the smaller truck) for a 70 mile move-ONE WAY. We drove an 'extra' 190 miles, which were charged at a dollar each. I don't know what can be done to help the next customers, but it seems the issues are: over-booking; slow check-in process; understaffing; long hold times on the phone (I called first thing in the morning and held for 50 mins, only to be transferred to another number and was put on hold there. I hung up because I didn't want to be holding on the phone, while physically holding my spot in line). Everyone who helped us was very nice and doing their best. These are corporate level issues. I won't be using U Haul again.
JAVIER C.Not sure if this location was understaffed or if something happened with staffing but there was no communication or signage as to where to drop off my trailer, when asked if I was in the right spot, the person was short and not helpful. Also asked questions about what exactly was needed from me in the return process and it seemed they did not want to answer.
Gabrielle D.After picking up our rental truck, driving away, and arriving at our destination we received 3 phone calls and several texts saying we had taken the wrong truck. We drove back to the location and were reprimanded by the employee, even though the keys we were given matched the truck we took. Then we were given a different set of keys. We couldn't find the new truck so we went back to the front desk and asked. An employee then proceeded to give us the SAME KEYS to the truck we had driven away with in the first place. Then they tried to charge me for the mileage I "used" to get the truck initially and then bring it back even though none of it was my fault, and I never had a wrong truck in the first place. Pretty sure I still got charged the extra mileage but whatever, never using these services again
Nathan S.Made a contactless reservation for 9:30am. When checking in on phone, was informed had to go to counter. Waited in line for 1,5 HOURS to pick up vehicle at counter. Do not make contactless reservations if they will not be honored. Staff location adequately so wait time at counter is reasonable.

And because it was not hooked up correctly my cabinet I was moving was broken by the time I got to loading from bouncing in unstable trailer

But overall not a great experience when I had a reservation and there was no attempt to call me before I arrived to let me know there was no truck available.

On site personnel should have moved my goods to a unit that was out of harms way but that didn't happen. While I was reimbursed partially for the damaged goods, more could have been done. I will not be using UHAUL in the future and would not recommend them to any friends or family.

AronH G.If this location is so reliant on on-time drop offs to maintain inventory for other reservations they've gotten themselves into i.e. if a renter is needed to act as contract delivery labor and not a CUSTOMER, this should be expressly indicated. The attending manager at this location went out of her way to insult me on this subject, including to another customer IN MY PRESENCE AT THE LOCATION.

My main complaint and the complaints of the 4 in front of me while I waited and the 3 behind me in line, was there was ONLY ONE PERSON at the REGISTER. The manager came in and out of the front but NEVER offered to assist in ATTEMPTS to bring the line down. One gentleman walked out after waiting 45 mins. The MANAGER should PUT MORE PEOPLE AT THE COUNTER ESPECIALLY ON FRIDAYS AND SATURDAYS to decrease the wait in line. I waited 50 mins. to get to the front of the line. UNACCEPTABLE WAIT TIME>>> drive further out to another UHAUL location to avoid the wait.

They recommended using the roadside service I paid for. I didn't have time. I took it anyway, driving it 650 miles with the right side light not working.
greg M.First, my van was given to someone else without consulting with me because I was in at 8AM and not at 6AM. In Richardson, the young individual handling my checkout of the van was the most disrespectful, sarcastic, unhelpful clown who thought that mistreating me was funny. He yawned in front of me no less than 10 times, drank water, all that while he was checking out my van. The Gen. Mgr. was there, I complained to her, and she dismissed me without thinking twice about it. Once I move my belongings out of U-Haul storage, I'm not coming back and will make sure everyone I know taht needs storage or self-moving services, don't use U-Haul.
JUAN I.The truck had not been checked in and the employee just checked milage and gas level (which was at 1/8 of a tank) to "speed along our reservation". Make sure to check the vehicles thoroughly before handing them over to a new customer. The engine over-heated and we had to buy 2 gallons of coolant to fill it up before continuing our trip. The check engine light came on while we were on the road. Why did we have to bring it back at 1/4 tank, but we received it at 1/8 tank?!?

The employees were unorganized and unprofessional. They sent me to 3 other locations through out the Dallas metro that were all closed on sundays. They refused to accept responsibility for causing me to go over on gas, miles, and truck rental time. I was forced to take time off work on monday to move into a storage unit that was far from the original location. Very disappointed with the Uhaul Richardson staff for wasting my time and their poor attitudes. I expect more from you.

After waiting 15-20 minutes, I finally went and found someone else who did cut the lock off and get me in. On another note, why in the WORLD would you have a split unit storage system where the larger units are up a staircase?!?! It stands to reason that anyone using the larger units probably has furniture and now we have to carry that furniture up some stairs. This is about the dumbest thing in storage facilities I've ever encountered. We won't be using this facility again for that reason alone.
